This used to be a great place for Thai take out, but the management has gone downhill. I placed an order for pickup at 6 pm. I placed the order 4 hours ahead of time. Yet when I walked in the door they had not even started making it. A few minutes late is reasonable, but waiting 20 minutes past my pickup time when I ordered 4 hours ahead of time is not good customer service. I ordered it well ahead of time because I didn't want to sit around their store waiting for my order. So I'm not sure what the point was of ordering ahead. Also, the guy running the front of the house seemed intentionally rude to me. He asked my name when I walked in and I told him, twice, "Gregory". He found my ticket, the one for the order that had not been started yet. He showed it to me and asked if it was mine, pronouncing my name "Georgie", when I had just said it twice. I looked at the ticket to make sure it was mine, because it could easily have been somebody else's since he pronounced my name so badly. I said, "That's mine, but my name is pronounced Gregory". A few minutes later he confirmed that they had just started my order, again calling me "Georgie". I said thank you but my name is "Gregory". Other people got their orders, and when he handed them their orders he said "Thanks for waiting. Sorry for the delay." When he finally handed me my order he said, "This is your order Georgie". And I could tell that he knew exactly how to pronounce my name. He was just being straight up rude. The food is good enough. But there are other places in Longmont that make great Thai food. read more

Biggest Lunch Special Scam I've Ever Seen I stopped by Jai Thai after seeing their big "Lunch Special $9.99" sign in the window. Sounded like a decent deal, so I went in and placed an order. That's when the fine print reality kicked in. Turns out, if you actually want soup and an eggroll (which you'd reasonably expect to be included in a lunch special), they charge you extra--even though that's what most people associate with a Thai lunch combo. The soup came in a small container that wasn't even half full, and the eggroll was barely the size of my thumb. Seriously. Despite the big "$9.99 lunch special" sign, my total came out to $19.99 with tax. That's not a special--it's a scam. The food itself was decent, but not even close to being worth the extra $10 tacked on. I felt totally misled and honestly kind of ripped off. If you're going to advertise a lunch special, make it clear what's actually included. Don't lure people in with false pricing only to nickel and dime them once they order. Won't be back. read more

I really like their pad Thai here. I come here time and time again to order this dish. I feel it's simple and flavorful and hits the spot when I'm craving it. My partner has tried a few dishes and it just doesn't hit the spot for him. Maybe he just hasn't found his favorite dish here yet. Sometimes I wish they were opened for dine in so I don't have to order to-go all the time. However I feel the service is relatively speedy and everything is made fresh and to order. read more

I've been to many Thai restaurants, ones where you think "passable", and those that make you say UMMMM! That's delicious... Unfortunately Jai Thai, wasn't "UMMMM, that's delicious", not even "passable! The Pad Thai was lacking in vegetables and a flavor that made me want to "just eat the whole plate and worry about the calories later! dish. It was a step above ketchup, a few spices, ground peanuts, couple pieces of green onion - trace of egg and fish sauce basically. The Tom Kha was passable, without soul. The dish my father ordered, which I didn't even care to remember the name... something like "Pad Kraw Gai isn't mentioned in the Thai language. They only offer takeout right now, and it's a really small restaurant. Apparently there are others who differ in opinion... ? In fact, I had reheated last nights leftovers which sitting in front of me, each more than HALFWAY FULL Intending to each a bit more since I didn't want to throw it away and I ate extra green salad instead... not noticing until iI had written this review! I really love this restaurant, it's delicious and reasonably priced Thai food. Their green curry is really good, sometimes green curry can have a weird artificial taste but theirs is always perfectly spiced. The pad see ew is yummy too, if you prefer sweet-salty over spice. They have great modification options (I always add broccoli to my curries and brown rice ) The only thing keeping it from 5 stars for me is they stopped serving fresh spring rolls during covid and haven't brought them back. It's one of my favorite Thai appetizers, so I sometimes go elsewhere to be able to include them in my meal. read more

First time to dine here thanks to gift certificate. We sat at the sushi bar as they were very busy on a Saturday night at 5:30 pm! Small tantalizing plates of beautiful sushi rotated in front of us on a moving track. Ingredients were fresh & cooked perfectly. I had chicken & shrimp in avocado green curry with coconut rice - outrageously delicious & creamy. I wished for a spoon so I didn't meet as any of that sauce. DH had shrimp with veggies with his choice of coconut rice & peanut sauce that was rich & complex, served in a large portion on the side so you can sauce to your liking. There is only a house wine offered which was very generic tasting & served too cold. Service was very attentive by all of the servers. Alright, I'm impressed. Our boss offered to buy us lunch so I chose this joint as it was he only Sushi offered on GrubHub in Longmont. When I noticed a $20 minimum for delivery, which was a bit steep for 1, I opted for pickup. Imagine my shock when the bill for one roll, one sashimi, and a seaweed salad was $20. I was pretty taken aback because that's not a huge meal, and I imagined the bill being about $15, which is around what it would have been in Denver, where I live. I was pretty annoyed, but the Sushi spoke for itself. It was really good! I was actually really impressed, and I went in not wanting to like it. Sashimi and roll had great flavor, and I was most impressed with the avocado they used, which was the most perfect amount of ripe I've ever had in a roll. The seaweed salad was served atop lettuce, which normally annoys me as I prefer just seaweed, but they used just a few leaves of crisp, super fresh romaine and it worked. Price could be less, but the quality was honestly impressive. Would absolutely eat here again if a sushi craving hits while in Longmont. read more

To begin, the unagi was DELICIOUS! The Tom Kah soup was good, but didn't have a lot of flavor or any spice. I added hot sauce, ginger, soy sauce and wasabi to it. I ordered the Thai fried rice, but when it came we found out it was not gluten-free. Ruh roh! The server actually told us they COULD make it gluten-free if we had asked (or wanted her to do it now). So take note! Ask for gluten-free and they will make it gluten-free! (She took it back) She then brought out gluten-free organic soy sauce! Wow! I didn't know they had that. Remember, once again, you have to ask for it. My mom ordered Tom Yum soup, but when it came out also realized it had gluten in it. The server was kind enough to replace it with chicken (rice) noodle soup. That also didn't have much flavor or any spice. I'm not sure why. I did hear the server asking another table what level spice they wanted on a scale of 1-5. So maybe she missed that part with us. Though we didn't take part, the sushi train was adorable, and so we sat at the sushi bar so we could watch it. My mom is usually very stingy, and I am embarrassed by her tips generally (or lack there-of). However, today she tipped 40%! Can you believe it?! I was very impressed! Mom said she was very impressed with the way the server handled the situation with us and the gluten, and definitely deserved 40%! :) Miracles never cease to happen, and that just shows you the level of service we received. read more

Ordered egg rolls, Pad Thai and panang curry - both dishes Level 3. Aprox $10 each. Egg rolls were straight out of a frozen bag from Costco. Pad Thai was good. Panang curry was HORRIIBLE. Check out the photos. The first dish of panang curry was so watery that it tasted like nothing but water and chili flakes - see photo #1. She took the rest of the dish back when I complained and remade the dish - see photo #2. She remade the dish WITH THE SAME CHICKEN and added more vegetables and more chili flakes to the point where it was totally inedible. Onions in panang curry? WRONG! Yuck. My wife and I always order rice paper wraps when on the menu and we loved the Fresh Roll with shrimp (see photo). We also like spicy food so when offered a scale of 1-5 (5 being hotest) for the Panang Curry, we ordered 4, which we found to be very hot, so be careful. Next time we might try 3, maybe even 2, it was that hot. Decor was standard strip mall, food arrive quickly and staff was very friendly. Would go again next time in Longmont. read more

We really loved our choices!! John decided on the Sweet Basil with coconut rice entree at a 3 heat index and I the Thai Spicy Noodle Soup at the very adventurous heat in dec of 4. Oh my what lovely aromas and flavors each dish/bowl held! We had to stop because of the giggling and tears by John when he was a few minutes into it and his hair appeared to be on fire!! I had no issues with my 4 and was delighted by the perfect heat for my pallet. I had to check to see if his 3 beat my 4 and oh, ya, it did!!!! I can't think of anything that wasn't pleasant about my experience here. The food was really well described in the menu, a vegan dream, and it delivered on taste! I got the avocado curry with tofu and a cucumber avocado roll. Both were great size and taste, with a choice of spicy 1-5 for heat on the curry. My 3 wasn't too hot and I really liked it. Self serve sushi that goes around on a belt was a great unique feature. They also had other sushi to order. My waitress was courteous and prompt and wanted to make sure I was happy with my food and spice level. I'll be back here next time I trek to Longmont. read more

Yesterday evening..., we just had the worst Thai meal ever from Jai Thai Restaurant. I cannot believe they would put this horrible quality of food into a carry out bag and expect you to take it home and eat it..!! We had two Jai Thai Garden meals, one with chicken and one with shrimp and in the bottom of both containers their was 1/2" of slimy-grey liquid that tasted terrible. Both the chicken and the shrimp were of very bad quality..!! We also had on order of Pad Thai which was cold and slimy as well. The peanut sauce was pasty and tasteless..!!
