I usually love this place and the Thai ish fried Chicken. This time the chicken portion was really small which was disappointing. More chicken please! Baby chicken makes me sad
I dined at Bird Craft while visiting Outer Range Brewing that's one of my favorite craft breweries in the US and they're co-located together. I ordered the four-piece Thai fried chicken that was crispy, juicy and came out with an Asian hot sauce that was delicious. I loved the jasmine rice that came with it and the Thai pickles were nice as well. I've been to Outer Range brewery a few times over the years during ski season so nice to visit in the warmer months. I hope to get back soon during the next ski season for some more of that Thai fried chicken and brews from Outer Range brewing as well. It's a really cool place with a laid back vibe and the service is very good.
We were traveling from Denver to Grand Junction, CO and were looking for some where to stop for lunch. There is a beautiful scenic area stop between Silverton and Frisco that we remembered from years earlier and decided to stop at again. Afterwards we decided to check out Yelp to find suggestions in the area. Bird Craft had a good review, so we stopped in. It is a takeout spot inside Outer Range Brewery. There were several people in line in front of us and a few more behind out. My husband and I shared the half chicken, and we recommend the sweet chili dipping sauce. The meal came with Jasmine rice and homemade pickles which were absolutely delicious. It was nice having the brewery there because we were able to eat our meal at the bar while we enjoyed a beer.
Even if you weren't coming to Outer Range for beer, you should come here for lunch. Fantastic chicken sandwich! But the real star was the ahi tuna poke TOTS. Smooth, chunky, spicy, creamy, crunchy...yes to this dish. We used the chips that came with our chicken sammie as a dipper and that was a smart move. And don't sleep on the side of house made pickles - worth it.
Great experience overall, I love that Bird Craft is fully integrated into the brewery (it is literally INSIDE the brewery). This is a fast casual setup which I love. You order at the counter, and then find any open seat (inside, outside, upstairs). You then order beer, wine, cocktails, etc. from the bar area. The food was overall good. We ordered the following which was a good amount for 5 of us (leaving some room for drinks). * Ahi Poke Tots: flavors came together well, the rice tots were great. They are a little dense, so beware. I do wish they were a little more crispy on the outside, but they were good overall. * Green Papaya Salad: I was skeptical, but this was one of my favorite dishes. The flavors were amazing, as were all the textures. The ingredients came together so well. * The Whole Bird fried chicken: Flavor was good, though the chicken itself was a bit dry. The skin was crazy crispy. This would be a spot I would definitely go back to again and is a great spot for hanging out with friends, family, and just about anyone.
Years later, this is still my favorite stop in Frisco. Grab a Bird Bowl, which I still think is the best thing on their menu, especially if you like Thai spicy. And pair it either with coffee from a relatively new vendor next door or beer from Outer Range Brewery (ORB) who dominates the center of the building. Plenty of parking and seating around. Great in any weather.
Amazing food, TERRIBLE SERVICE This is literally a counter at a brewery and the cashier was so rude. They messed up my order and I told the cashier about it and he seemed so annoyed, like? Great food but get friendly workers
Lots of gluten free options which is great! I got the fried rice but it was too spicy for me to finish, but was otherwise super flavorful and not something I've seen anywhere else in the gluten free world. It's super quick and easy to order inside the brewery and you can sit anywhere.
To sum it up in one sentence- Bird Craft x Outer Range is such an elite combination. Bird Craft is a solid spot to get some grub while you're in Frisco or just passing by. It also happens to be inside one of the best breweries here in Colorado, Outer Range. My go to there is the Ahi Tuna Bowl with bird sauce, but everything there is great. I also love getting the Ahi Poke Tots on occasion. And what better way to wash it all down than with an ice cold beer (or two or three)! The line can get pretty long but it moves quickly, and it's definitely worth the wait.
Fried chicken was a solid 4.2 out of 5. Location is great mixed in with the Brewery. 4 out of 5 Papaya Salad was no good. Missing savory flavor *more fish sauce or something and little to no spice. It over powered by the cilantro taste. Suggest to eliminate the cilantro and mint from it or use it at topping and out on end. 1 out of 5 Overall Score = 3.1
We were visiting Outer Range Brewing and this food was perhaps the best thing about this visit ! Let's begin with the Poke Tots which were exceptional and so good !! Fresh poke and super crisp and crunchy tots! Next up the Papaya salad which was also devious, fresh and the perfect bite with mint and peanuts in a flavorful dressing! The meat eaters enjoyed the wings and pork belly fried rice and I had the tofu and veggies bowl which was great! Well priced, easy ordering and delicious !
Bird Craft was so good, and paired with an excellent brewery for your apres ski. In the morning, there is perfect coffee spot for your morning shots. We came hear nearly every day during our ski trip in Frisco. Great for takeout , or eating in. Not pictured is the fried chicken. Fantastic!
Stopped by on our way back to Denver. It is an Asian inspired fried chicken place inside a brewery. The atmosphere was pretty great with plenty of seating indoor and outdoor with couches in addition to tables. You order at the window and they text you your order. Tried the pork belly fried rice and 1/2 chicken with the sweet chili sauce. The fried rice was a bit wet. Pork belly had a little crispness to the outside and salty. It was a well cooked piece of pork belly but didn't really have strong flavor. The fried chicken reminded me of the breading you get at a Chinese buffet. It is a thin batter that is very crispy. The chicken itself was quite moist. The sauce was on the side. The sweet chili sauce did not have much sweetness to it so it really was just spicy. I usually think of sweet chili sauce having too much of sweetness but this one did not have much. My favorite part of the fried chicken was the pickled pickles. Pickled pickles had a very strong tartness vinegar with a little heat. Overall the pork belly and fried chicken weren't bad but I didn't get much of the asian inspired flavors.
Amazing food! Loved that almost the whole menu was gluten free. The food came out hot and fast. My husband and I enjoyed the half chicken and poke bowl. Very impressed with the quality of both the tuna and the chicken and super flavorful. read more

Ahh, Bird Craft. My first visit was a little lackluster. Maybe I was too hyped up for my experience. But I always give a place a second shot. Boy, am I glad I did! Post hike and feeling, no craving, a tasty AF chicken sandwich, Tiffany N. and I made our way to Outer Range Brewing and bellied up to Bird Craft for some noms. We already knew that we each were grabbing a chicken sandwich. After browsing the menu, I also wanted to give the Tom Ka Ghai soup a try. It was redemption. The first time, the chicken sandwich had way too many herbs or slaw on top, all the flavor was buried. This time around there was everything was balanced and worked oh so well together. The chicken was fried up just right, the sauce was flavorful, the slaw was just right, and the bun was perfection. The soup was fantastic! After sampling a couple other Thai soups, I have been very curious to try more. Whoa! So much more than I was expecting. The flavor of the coconut and red curry really play well together. After a cold morning hiking, this really warmed us up! Bird Craft is definitely climbing up my post hike sustenance list. I can't wait to come back and sample more of their simply craft and flavorful menu! read more

FRIED CHICKEN PLACE WITHOUT FRIED CHICKEN??? This is a craft brewery with a food stall inside, thus I'm writing a separate review for each one of them. This review is about the food stall. Their menu has two sections - "fried chicken" and "other stuff", so I suppose fried chicken is their specialty. The fried chicken may or may not be tasty, but I wouldn't know because they ran out of chicken by 7pm! I have concerns about their production management and customer service, and both factors contributed to my rating. Below summarizes my interaction with their staff and I'll leave it to the readers' judgement, especially those who plan to also eat at this craft brewery. 7:00pm: - Staff: We just ran out of chicken and we're making a new batch right now. Thus, please come back in 10 min to order any fried chicken items. - Me: Ok, may I have the Pork Belly Fried Rice for now please? And just curious, roughly how long will the fried rice be ready? - Staff: Approx. 15 min. - Me: ...... 7:15pm (when I pick up the previously ordered item): - Me: Can I order fried chicken now? - Staff: No, you can't order yet. The kitchen needs 10 more minutes, as we're overwhelmed tonight. - Me: ...... 7:35pm (my last attempt): - Me: Can I order fried chicken now? - Staff: No, it's not ready yet. - Me: Let me guess... you'd need another 10 min, right? - Staff: Yes. This is what I was told by the kitchen, and I have no control over it. - Me: May I ask why I can't order the fried chicken in advance? Then, I pick it up when it's ready - whether it's 10/20/30 min from now. - Staff: Chicken preparation is a 2-step process (details omitted here, but it was a long explanation), and I can't take order until we're sure it's about to be ready. - Me: ...... I gave up at that point, as I've already spent about 30 min in total attempting to get fried chicken. Based on their responses, they weren't even sure if they could have another batch of fried chicken ready before they close for the night, and the "10 more min" was more of a random guess-timate. The staff's responses also didn't help the situation, because the underlying messages were simply repeatedly saying "it's not my fault"! Shouldn't they start preparing a new batch when stock level is trending low (instead of waiting until it completely ran out)? Shouldn't they take pre-orders from customers (instead of asking customers to line up again in 10 min and try our luck)? These are probably topics for management to review further. Oh... as for the Pork Belly Fried Rice that we actually had? It's average quality at most - definitely not worth the time I spent waiting in line! read more

Ate at the Outer Range Brewery pop up, This chicken sandwich is a real beauty. Asian inspired and it absolutely delivers. Tempura fried thigh on a brioche bun, cucumbers and slaw were fresh and there's a a hoisin-ish sauce that they drizzled on it. There's mint on it too which is DELIGHTFUL. Tastes like a chicken sandwich bahn mi. Definitely would want more sauce and I was a little displeased that the sandwich had been made prior to my order...so the bun was a little soggy. All in all, very good but would have much preferred to avoid the soggy bun. Also get a side of the shark sriracha to dip it in - absolutely dynamite combo. read more

Although I was staying in Aurora, one of the bartenders at my hotel said I should head out to Frisco if I had time. I looked over reviews for dozens of restaurants, but it seemed like Bird Craft was a favorite on multiple review sites. Although traffic was pretty heavy and the intermittent rain made me wonder if driving to Frisco was a good idea, I'm so glad I went! After parking in the lot, I found the order window for Bird Craft to the right of the bar. The ahi tots sounded delicious, so I ordered one without avocado. (They said they would toss in a couple extra tots since I didn't want avo.) They asked if I wanted a text message when my order was ready, and I gave them my number for the notification. I popped upstairs to look at the seating options, marveling at the beautiful mountains around me. I was really happy I snagged an outdoor seat before the late afternoon rush, since every table was taken about five minutes later. In a few minutes, I got the text that my order was ready and grabbed it from downstairs. The ahi tots were delicious. The fish was pretty fresh for mainland ahi. I absolutely loved the crispy tots. Everything was very well balanced, including the kick of spice. I would totally order this on a regular basis if I lived in the area. It was definitely worth the trip. read more
Wow this place was really yummy. First I love that this place was in a communal space, lots of cool seating options and the bar was also really nice. I got the fried tofu and veggies with sambas hot. The tofu was very well textured and the broccoli was super tasty. I also really enjoyed the cucumber salad - it was tart and well balanced. I thought that the guacamole was a bit random. The herbs they gave took up like a quarter of the box and I didn't really know what to do with them. Other than that, I loved this meal! read more
Don't be confused like me. Bird Craft is located inside the Outer Range Brewery. I walked up to the counter to place my order- bird box with spicy Thai sauce. Within 5 minutes, my order was READY. I was not disappointed- I ate everything! The chicken was flavorful and crispy. I definitely recommend coming here for a quick bite to eat. Given it's location, you also have the option to try some local CO beers. I would come again. read more
On our way to Grand Junction, we stopped in Frisco for lunch based on other reviews and knowing we wouldn't get chicken while visiting my parents. What a treat!! We ordered the Bird Bowl with sriracha lime and bird sauce. The Bird Sauce is amazing and next time I might try the Fire Bird Sauce for kicks and giggles. The chicken is super crispy and juicy - so delicious! Another bonus: that the Jasmine Rice is perfectly cooked and adds to the meal instead of overwhelming it with starch. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back! It's great to know we can stop for a quick and delicious meal on the way to visit family! read more

Found my new addiction at Bird Craft (Frisco) inside of the outer range brewery. We decided to order a whole spread of fresh Papaya Salad, bird bowl, Ahi Tuna Bowl, Massive (Dinosaur sized) Honey Sriracha Wings, and Pork Belly fried rice. It was definitely one of those meals where they gave us wipes but we still found ourselves licking our fingers at the end. The fact that it had these views and the brewery attached to it really put the icing on the cake read more

Loved the bird bowl, ahi tuna tots, and coconut soup we got here!! Everything was delicious and the sauce had a great spice to it!!! Really fast service and the food was still fresh! They are located in the Outer Range Brewery which was even more awesome to be able to get brews, views and great food! I'd definitely be back again! :) read more
