This place was incredible! After a few days of having terrible food, we decided to try this place south that was walking distance from our Airbnb. We saw a lot of great reviews online and we thought, how bad could a hamburger place actually be. Mind you, I am not a burger person whatsoever, but everything was on point and delicious. The burger was a bit too greasy for me but it was moist and flavorful. The bacon could've been more crispier, but still meshed well with the burger. Great burger and bar in Breckenridge. I found myself here one night after a conference. I liked it so much I went back on my last day in town. During the evening hours it has a very dive bar feel. I was with a group from the conference and everyone was having a blast. During the day the vibe is very much a restaurant. I sat outside since the weather was nice. If it's summer, I encourage you to do the same. Both times I got the green chili burger with fries. Add jalapeños if you want to step it up a notch. I am not one to leave bad reviews, but i was super upset when i found out a day later that the server David G. Tipped himself 22% after we had told him we would leave a CASH tip. I was still willing to leave a tip even after our order was brought out almost an hour later and other groups that had came in after were getting served before us. Came here for lunch with the kids. Really cool place. They had this queso with chili on top. Do yourself a favor and order that! The food was really good. I personally had the Cobb salad, which was massive. I barely was able to make a dent. It was so much food. A lot of food but absolutely delicious! We started with fried zucchini - lightly fried good taste. My burger was a bacon cheeseburger added fried egg with a side of tator tots- OMG! SO good. I was searching other Yelp reviews for a good burger in Breck and found Empire Burger. It's in a great location right on the main street and the burger was very good. I had the Green Chile Cheeseburger and enjoyed it. Truthfully the best part is the homemade dipping sauces! I tried the Jalapeño Ranch and the Sriracha Mayo and both were excellent. *CELIAC / GLUTEN FREE REVIEW limited options, and you do have to go into specifics to make sure your food is safe, but I had no reaction as a very sensitive celiac! I got the Kona burger, and here's where you do have to go a bit into details for a safe meal: the grill is shared / they do grill buns - BUT if you say it's an allergy, they'll cook EVERYTHING, bun and toppings, on tinfoil. They also will switch utensils, just again be as clear as you can. Furthermore - they often butter the buns. I asked for no butter since the butter is probably used for regular buns. Our waiter's mom had celiac and he said she feels comfortable eating the burgers and salads here. The burger was great and very flavorful, the bun is an Udi's bun, but got the job done. Sometimes previous yelp reviews do me dirty when I'm looking for a new place to check out while on vacation and this my friends was one of them- I'm not quite sure how they average 4 stars. First off, it's a burger place that claims the patties are 1/3 lb and cooked "medium". These burgers are thin like Freddy's or Steak n Shake style- not sure how they are 1/3 lb or cooked medium cause everyone at my table had a very well done burger. They pile the toppings high with abundance which I'm guessing to distract from the missing thickness of the patty. The hand cut fries were great think similar to Five Guys. The toppings were fresh and had quite a bit like I mentioned above but for all their claims and to have "burger" in their name, they miss the mark. To be honest, the service sucked. The lady who met us at the door was friendly and sat us quickly while she went back to her other tables. We got stuck with this guy who immediately had attitude when asking how many kids menus we needed. Then when trying to order drinks he was super unhelpful and responded with "No" without explanations or alternatives. Just a blank stare. The fries were supposed to come with a sauce of our choice but he never asked and never came back for us to request it after the food arrived. Drinks were never refilled and he only came back to start grabbing stuff off the table. He literally reached over my plate and grabbed my fork and napkin that had a piece of the excessive lettuce that I had taken off. It was just a weird experience- since I've never had someone do that- let alone while I'm still eating. All in all, I'd find somewhere else to go if you want a burger because this place is definitely not it. read more
