Hayley helped me and was so patient while I tried on a bunch of different pairs and figured out my new shoe size. I came in planning to buy one pair of walking shoes but left with two since one of the pairs were on sale. The employee helping me was really patient and informative. He picked out 3 shoes for me to try on. Which ended fine since I did find shoes I like and have been running in. I tried each shoe on like 3-4 times and didn't feet rushed at all even as more people came in to shop. They give you the Cinderella treatment as far as fitting the shoe to your foot. A couple downsides to this location is that its small. So when I was trying on my shoes I couldn't really jog around like I would want to test them. They also didn't have a lot of selections in the size I need. I couldn't try what a stability shoe felt like. For a store all about getting the right type shoe for feet I think they should have every type available even if its just a sample you can't buy. I would also plan to come here on a weekday instead of weekend. The whole area is hard to find parking and then get out of the parking once you're in. I spent under $200 for my shoes which I kind of expected. I do use them and feel like they are a perfect fit to my feet.

My husband was looking for new work safety boots, in particular Brunt Boots. We had ordered a pair…read moreof Brunts online that didn't fit. We found that there were two local retailers who sold Brunt Boots. We went to the first retailer and they had Brunt Boots but didn't have the style my husband was looking for. He was over trying on a bunch of boots and was ready to give up. I told him there was one more retailer close by that we could check. Right when we walked into Purpose Built I lived the layout and vibe. My husband a blue collar engineer, so when I started to see all the shirts with logos and imagery tailored towards labors I immediately feel in love. There's even a small area for young kids to play while parents are shopping. He found his boots and the young lady who assisted him was very helpful giving feedback on the boots. He ended up getting a totally different pair than he set out to get. We grabbed a couple of shirts and fun sticker decals, he grabbed an one extra for his Chief. Overall, the Americana feel and the support for laborers, blue collar union workers was awesome. We will definitely be going back. And best of all, my husband loves his Boots!!

No women's workwear…read more As a woman who works in the union trades I was really disappointed for how much hype this store has... The men's department was exactly what you'd expect from a workwear store. Ariat, Thorogood, Carhartt, rain gear, hard hats, and plenty of actual jobsite clothing. Then I walked over to the women's section. Instead of comparable workwear, it was mostly lifestyle apparel cropped shirts, fashion pieces, and stuff that gave the "blue collar look" rather than women who actually spend 8-12 hours working on a construction sites. Women electricians, plumbers, ironworkers, welders, mechanics, and laborers need durable, functional work clothes just as much as men do. Brands like Ariat came great FR women's gear, you have brands like Dovetail which I've seen other stores carry. If you're going to market yourselves as a workwear store, I'd love to see the women's department stocked with the same seriousness and variety as the men's, not just stuff women wear to look cool. I really wanted to support this business, but I left feeling like the women's side was an afterthought.

Been coming here for about 10 years, always with my two red poodles who aren't part of this review…read morebut just so the staff can easily identify me. The younger taller gentleman, I don't know his name but he has an accent that sounds Persian, was unexpectedly dismissive today, nearly from the moment I entered. I asked him about the sale that last time he told me was going to be in September. He said try again in October I said when in October he said actually December and still didn't give a specific date. Okay, that still wasn't the reason I'm leaving this review. I casually started browsing some of the beautiful Italian shirts and without me even asking him a question he yelled across the store none of those will fit you. Look my guy, I am 8% body fat, and a semi-Pro cyclist. I'm skinnier than you and you are pretty slim. Looks like the same guy I made almost the same insulting comment to another customer a while back according to these reviews. Then he almost seemed annoyed that I continued to browse and said out loud what exactly are you looking for as if I was invading his store and/or annoying him. At this point, this was the second or third last chance. WhileI didn't feel he was entitled to an answer, since at this point I knew he wasn't going to respond with anything helpful. I told him I was looking for a wrinkle resistant white dress shirt. Immediately responded, we don't have any of those. I had already seen at least two maybe, more of them. That was it. I told him, it seems like I am bothering you and told him I'm leaving. At that point he tried to insist that he had not intended to be rude. He either intended to be or couldn't even tell that he was. Either way, it's a problem. I used to like this guy and the store for I was going out of my way to try to support local business and not just buy everything online but he is making it exceedingly difficult to support local businesses in Danville. Sincerely, Nick C.

What brought me back to memory lane was Converse high tops and the Stan Smith tennis shoes. Wow! These were my favorite shoes in the 70s, but at that time, everyone had to have them. We have progressed a lot in regards to quality and comfort, but those aforementioned shoes were functional, made well, and durable. As for the store, this boutique is really unique in that you wish you could buy one of everything. You can't say that about all shoe stores. They carry very nice shoes for the inventory they have. My wife bought a very nice purse. Typical of her buyer remorse mentality, she didn't like the color of the first one she took home. No problem, the friendly staff accepted the return (made easy since she just bought it a few days earlier and had a receipt) and she returned it for the same purse, but in a different color.
