Bun Bo Hue and Thai Tea
Patrick Z.

What a lovely meal I actually devoured this. Got the Bun Bo Hue and the broth was magical. Loved the thicker noodles too. The brisket was super tender and everything overall just was perfect. The cold wind outside made this taste extra good too like mmmmmm. Also got a thai tea which was much more concentrated in flavor than other thai teas ive had which I thought was wild. Like a flavor explosion yum.

DELICIOUS bahn mi and amazing service! It was so cute inside and every single thing on the menu looked delectable. I loved how cozy and intimate the place was. Food came out fast and was really fresh, and the staff were so so kind. They gave us free dessert for leaving a google review, but I liked the food so much that I wanted to leave them a review on Yelp as well (and they gave us a HEFTY portion of tiramisu for the google review!) They deserve all the praise and I'll definitely be a regular here!

Vegan Banh Mi (tofu) and vegan summer rolls
Ibis R.

We came here to get a vegan Banh Mi (with tofu and no mayo), Vegan Pho, and summer rolls. We also ordered a pomegranate lemonade and blood orange tea. Everything tasted fresh and good. There isn't much seating inside, only about 6 little tables that more comfortably sit 2 people per table. The workers were nice about making our food vegan and it came out really fast; I don't think they were very busy when we came though. Overall, everything was good and I would return.

Two Wheels Ph - 1 meat

In truth, this was 3 1/2 star experience but there are a few minor changes that could make it 5. First, the food is delicious. I throughly enjoyed each bite and the service was good. For improvements: the menu price outside is less than the one inside, I would Just remove the outside menu until it's updated. The pho very good, but I would Present the meat at the top of the dish to see how much is there. It seemed like there wasn't much but hard to tell. Chili oil is extra, totally fine! But I recommend upselling that at the sale so the customer doesn't have to get up and ask and do another transaction. I think over all this is a great lunch spot, and everything is reasonable but small Improvements could really increase the overall experience.

Signature Bahn Mi w/ Pork
Kat C.

A casual Vietnamese spot with some delicious food! Stopped by Two Wheels for a quick bite, and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was! I ordered the Signature Bahn Mi with chargrilled pork. I absolutely loved how it was filled to the brim with pork, and the fact that the pork itself had a delicious charred flavor. While some bits were a little on the dry side, overall it was a solid bahn mi! I would definitely visit again if I'm in the area and looking for a quick bite.

Beef Pho, Thai Iced Tea

Being the first person in before the rush was not a bad first impression. For the price of everything it was totally worth every penny but there are definitely cheaper spots in NYC. This spot just so happens to be across the street from my job! Loved all of my meal and plan to be back again!!

Cut little spot. Seats approximately 12

Quick service and friendly staff. Small space, on the same size as the nearby restaurants. My pho was yummy and hit the spot. If you eat in, take note at least in the evening, lots of delivery guys in and out, so pretty popular with the neighborhood at least in that respect.

Check it out!

What a surprise. We checked into our hotel and headed out to grab a drink, only to realize that we were super hungry. Passed by this place and couldn't resist - - it's a small order-at-the-counter type of place, with a few tables for dining in. It doesn't have a huge menu but what we had was absolutely delicious. Their Vietnamese Crepe - - I added yummy shrimp - - is served like tacos, very different from what I've seen before but so so tasty. It was just the right amount of crispy and the sauce was sweet and spicy.

Truffle fries with parmesan.

One of our favorites. Polite, yummy, kind. Pho. Solid nom nom. Truffles fries with vegan or regular Parmesan. Spring rolls. Love them.

One of the best pho places in the UWS. The broth tastes clean and you can get extra noodles/broth for a good price.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. When it finally arrived, the soup lacked that authentic pho aroma, which was a letdown. On the plus side, the beef was fresh, and the reusable to-go bag was a nice touch. Decent, but the wait and price make it hard to love. Might try again if they speed things up.

After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.

It is usually packed during meal times so expect a wait or choose to order take out to save on wait times. I personally love when the Bahn mi is stuffed with both the meat and veggies, it has the perfect ratio. Sometimes there's not enough filling and it feels like you are only eating bread, but at Nom Nam that is definitely not the case. The Pho was also pretty flavorful and it wasn't the best I have had but it was still really good given that I haven't found too many Pho places that I love in nyc. I definitely recommend adding Nom Nam to your lists of places to try!

I'm not in the area very often so this review is for first impressions…read more Naturally how I heard about this place is how any of us hear about anywhere now... TikTok. Do I agree it's "the best pho in nyc"? Hell no. Would I say it's a pretty damn solid pho? *bleep* yeah. I think it also helped that there was a surprising amount of Vietnamese people dining there. For perspective, we're a bit of a rare breed in nyc itself and much less in this pocket of Manhattan. Suffice it to say, it's a Viet restaurant worth going out of your way for. So-- here are the things I unexpectedly like about Nom Nam: * I love love love the diner homage. It's common for new restaurants to play it safe or create an environment of grandeur, that people are often adverse to have fun. This checkered multi-colored menu, neon sign having, is unapologetically fun. The sign on the wall "troi dat oi" is a passive aggressive phrase all Vietnamese moms say. I could do with a different name than "Nom Nam" but it is easy to remember. * The pho: SOLID! Can we take a minute and celebrate reliability without admonishing mediocrity? I like eating upscale obscured ingredients more than the next guy but I'd much prefer a consistent reliably good savory pho or a cold/hungover/sick night. * The Bo Luc Lac: look... or luc (hehe don't kill me-- my gf just sneered at me), the BLL did not have that desired wok hay seared outside but the meat-- tender, the sauce-- immaculate, my stomach-- happy. Honestly I'd buy that sauce alone. Things I didn't like (or care for really): * The cocktail: I like a place with a dedicated cocktail list bespoke to them but they played it safe here. There was one item that could be considered the most Vietnamese but it came off generic. I mean it's a good cocktail but lacks that special flair the rest of the restaurant is doing great at. * The wings: the wings were good. In fact, they tasted exactly how my mom makes them and she's considered the best cook out of 7 siblings. That being said, 4 wings? I know, you probably don't wanna do that either; I blame the economy... and a certain party making the economy worse as we speak. * The pho descriptions on the menu: as a Viet, I even had a hard time discerning what makes each one distinct. I feel like ai would be a good use case here to help Things I'll be coming back for: * Them Banh Mis * The coffees * The homemade limeade & salted plum I appreciate the waitress admitting the limeade was really sweet, so I'll go on a day where I had a good gym sesh or something

Drinks are awesome too and there is happy hour after 9pm with draft beer only at $5, very good deal. However the service upstairs was so bad that I almost made a scene. Once we got the check we asked for a to go box which they say they'll get us right away. However, they proceed to work on not important task like placing napkins and utensils on empty tables ( im sure it's not an urgent task since there is lots of empty tables with napkins and utensils) so I waited like 5 mins more while making multiple eye contact with him and he still didn't get the box for me. I had to walk to him and ask can I get my box please to finally get my thing. The very nice gentlemen next table even asked if I were ok and offer to buy me beer. It is known for…read morecrowds, noise, and restaurants that seat you next to a stranger close enough to accidentally share an appetizer. So when my family stumbled into Pho 39, a tiny spot with just a handful of tables tucked away from the chaos outside, it felt less like finding a restaurant and more like discovering a Rebel outpost that somehow survived undetected in the middle of Imperial territory. The menu is exactly what you'd expect from a solid Vietnamese spot: pho, combination rice plates, the usual lineup. We were ready to order and move on with our lives. Then we saw the tacos. Vietnamese tacos. On the menu. Sitting right there between the banh mi and the spring rolls like they'd always belonged. Nobody in my family said anything for a full three seconds, which for us is basically a standing ovation. We ordered the duck spring rolls to start, which were fresh, well packed, and disappeared faster than a starfighter in hyperspace. For the mains we went with the beef flank pho and the banh mi combination special. The pho had a clean, well developed broth that clearly had some time put into it, and the beef flank was tender enough to make you slow down and pay attention. The banh mi combo was solid, balanced, and hit all the right notes. We did not get the tacos this visit, which means we have a built in reason to return and nobody can argue with that logic. For a small room in the middle of one of the busiest cities on the planet, Pho 39 manages to feel genuinely calm and focused. Good food, good value, and a menu with enough surprises to keep things interesting. The Force is strong with this little spot.
