Pho was pretty decent! Not bad for a quick lunch! I had gotten the pho with flank. The only thing I could recommend was cutting the flank a little thinner. I paid 17$ for this pho, and it was decent for the price. It wasn't the best pho in the world, but enough to revitalize the soul and get me through my day. Confession: I have never actually eaten inside this Vietnamese spot. I usually just walk by, admire how spacious, airy, and chill it looks, and keep it moving. Why? Because I made a personal rule that I would not judge Vietnamese food until I actually go to Vietnam. Ambitious? Yes. Necessary? Probably not. That rule was broken hard by their fish sandwich. A friend brought me one, and wow. Soft, slightly long bun, lightly toasted I think, perfectly portioned fish not skimpy and not excessive, and somehow it just hits. I eat a lot of fish sandwiches around NYC, and this one is quietly elite. Eat it right away and it is fantastic. Eat it hours later and it is still great. Next day not recommended but tested and it is still surprisingly good. I have now had about four of these sandwiches, so this is no fluke. The restaurant itself looks very modern Asian. Dark wood, green plants, calm vibes. I cannot personally speak on service, but based on the steady stream of four and five star reviews, I am assuming they know what they are doing. Bottom line: if you want one of the best fish sandwiches in the area or you already love Vietnamese food, give Pho Restaurant a shot. Always a 10 out of 10, broth is phenomenal. Stopped by Pho Amsterdam in Harlem and really enjoyed my meal. I had the beef banh mi sandwich and the veggie pho with tofu, mushrooms, baby corn, and broccoli. It was a chilly rainy day and I contemplated getting the Pho but I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it all so I went for a bahn mi. Toasty Bread and flavorful fillings and pickles I can't complain. Saw this place recently opened up near my work area. Was hesitant to try as I know a lot of places do pho and what not but it is not authentic. Decided to try the banh mi as a starter and as expected, nothing compared to the places in Chinatown or flushing. Came back to try the pho a month later and it was alright at best. While the pho broth is not super flavorful, the portion size is decent which I liked. They gave me a lot of broth in my take out container. Solid Vietnamese spot on north side of Columbia's campus! My favorite was the vermicelli - I'd order this again. The bahn mi and pho were fine. We also had the catfish rice dish. You don't often see catfish on the menu. I wish the spring rolls had the rice paper wrappers - these were skippable. Service was friendly and attentive. Omg I am so elated by this addition to the neighborhood. I am from California and have been searching for good pho in the city and I can't believe I've finally found it AND it's literally next door to me!! When I initially arrived, I was greeted by a sweet woman and a beautiful, clean restaurant. I quickly placed my order and was shocked (and skeptical) with how quick it came but that was immediately replaced with happiness when I realized how good it was. The broth was sooo flavorful and every bite was so delicious. It's served in a large bowl, which is nice so that it doesn't overflow when adding things in and it's also such a good amount- I couldn't even finish the entire thing. Everything felt thin, cooked for economy of the restaurant and not the taste of the people who visit. If looking for good pho, look elsewhere. If in the neighborhood and looking for a meal you could do worse. Service to table was perfect, no notes. Service to meal was noticeably cheap, everything felt cut, stepped on, not light tasting like a style, but as if they'd watered everything down to save on overhead costs. Ambiance was new modern, the wood furnishing varnished just a little too recently to feel sticky. Maybe that patina will wear off. read more

I live in the block, so for a local spot it's a 5 star. I wouldn't say it's the absolutely best pho ever, but I would give it a solid 4.5. Someone mentioned Flushing or Chinatown as a comparison in their review, which is irrelevant. I'm not going to compare this pho to the one I've tried in Hanoi. Service - great. Ambiance - great. If you are in the area and are craving pho or need a hangover cure, I highly recommend this spot. read more

There were more veggies (lettuce, pickled carrots, etc) than noodles, which is not a bad thing. Whole thing gets topped with peanuts and fried shallots. Comes with fish sauce and sriracha separately packed. Speed, solid quality and value. A good addition to the lunch rotation.
