Pho: Steak and Brisket
Lori C.

Hidden gem on the UWS. Had their beef brisket pho and it's comforting to have during the winter. The broth is very tasty! Also their kimchi fries are amazing. The restaurant is nice and quick service when you dine in. I will be back and would get the same thing and even try more things on their menu!

Chicken curry that looks like a 4 year old prepared

I just ordered food here tonight and was highly disappointed with the portion that I received for what I paid. The $9 fries were literally thrown in a service tray and messy, the shrimp soup was decent, but it had a weird aftertaste. And I got the the curry chicken for my Dad, I was embarrassed by how the presentation looked to give to him and more so pissed by spending over $20 for that. Don't order from here hungry, you'll be pissed you wasted your money like I did.

Steak and Brisket Pho (tough brisket)
Christine L.

Came for dinner on a weeknight with a friend around 6, there was no wait which was great. Service was quick and attentive and we both ordered the Steak and Brisket Pho which came out within a couple minutes. The broth was good, but the brisket itself was inedible from how tough and chewy it was. The thinner meat (steak?) was okay but not flavorful and still a bit tough. Noodles were fine but overall the serving size was also on the small size given the price

Tofu curry

This place has amazing and kind service! They stayed open late for me to catch up with my friends and were so pleasant. Honestly 5/5 for service. The restaurant is very homely with limited seating but it's a classic Vietnamese restaurant. The food was above average with plenty of vegetarian options. The curry puffs not pictured were really good. The curry was good too with flavor. Normally vegetarian Vietnamese food lacks flavor but I was pleasantly surprised. The dessert wasn't the best but would definitely come back for dinner!

Broth

I'm a little disappointed with this Vietnamese spot.. it's very pricey for the amount of food they give you (maybe I'm used to California portions when it comes to Pho). We got the veggie pho with a side of tofu, a side of beef and extra noodles. Everything was ok, the service was fast and nice and the restaurant look cute, but again very little amount - especially the broth.

Plum Vietnamese for me falls in between 3 and 4 stars. The ambiance is nice and staff were great but the food was alright. Not bad and not great at the same time. Missing the usual side of condiments that go with pho and the broth itself was somewhat bland and missing the aromatics you'd expect like star anise. I think a few tweaks, Plum could be in the 4 star range. I'll give it 3.9

Superbowl pho
Mariam S.

Plum is a hidden gem on the Upper West Side! Their pho is some of the best in the city, with a super flavorful broth that needs no corrections... but if you're feeling bold, their home made spice bomb is incredible (and truly truly spicy!). Our favorites are the Super Bowl pho, the chicken wings, spring rolls, and the lychee soda. The restaurant is chic and has wonderful and fast service, highly recommend!

Chicken Pho

If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food, this isn't exactly the place. The food is, however, okay and I appreciate any restaurant that takes on creating Vietnamese dishes We dined in and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. I went with the chicken pho. With the cold day lingering around, the soup was much needed. The chicken pho's broth was extremely light. I swore it was just water, at first look. The soup had a light brine and chicken taste, but this contrasts starkly from other pho places. I'm used to chicken pho with a dense broth and richer chicken profile. I'm open to trying other items again, but I'm in no hurry.

Banh mi sandwich with chicken and some kimchi fries
Jahnavi U.

My sister and I really enjoyed the kimchi fries from this place. I don't know what's in them but they are so addictive. We also tried the chicken banh mi sandwich. It's flavorful and good. Although we really enjoyed the duck curry as well, I don't care for the steep price of $25. That's high for the amount of duck you get. I'm not sure I would order that again just because of the price. Looking forward to trying other dishes from this place... hopefully they don't break the bank as well.

Service and pho was really good. It was happy hour so a glass of wine was about $8 or $9 dollars. I would go again

The food was delicious and the vibe was chill and relaxing. I had the spicy duck curry, which was very tasty.

Everything was delicious. We shared the appetizer platter with dumplings and edamame. Then vegan pho, chicken curry, grilled salmon.

Is this place dog-friendly?

It's tiny so I would think it would be uncomfortable to have a dog. I don't know what their indoor dining schedule Is like, I ate outside.

Not a very large restaurant, but had plenty of tables and bar seating. Service was very friendly. Our server answered all our questions and made some awesome recommendations. We ordered the beef carpaccio, gnocchi in a creamy truffle sauce, warm octopus salad, and the tagliatelle bolognese. Everything was delicious. Restrooms were gender neutral and desperately needed attention. There was pee all over the toilet seat and floor, and no paper towels. For a very nice restaurant, the restroom was absolutely disgusting. - 1 star, sorry. Still would highly recommend.

Little did we know that it was business on the main floor and a party on the bottom! We ended up skipping the coffee and just had food. This is a Mexican spot with some Colombian themed dishes on the brunch/lunch menu. The breakfast burrito was recommended by our server (as a popular dish) as well as the huevos rancheros. I love biscuits so was swayed in a different direction... an egg and cheese sandwich on a house made jalapeño biscuit. The biscuit sandwich was filling, although a bit too dry for my taste. The addition of the jalapeño did give the biscuit a good kick. The potatoes were nicely seasoned. My friend gushed about her huevos rancheros. It did look good, and I would likely skip the biscuit sandwich and go for the huevos rancheros or tacos next time. The service was super sweet and attentive. We truly didn't realize there was another floor until we finished our meal in the enclosed heated space up front, and the server encouraged us to check it out. It's a cool set up with a distinct feel from the main floor. All in all I would check this place out again.

It's the same sauce they use for the sushi so it just taste weird on the burger, in my opinion. Just keep that in mind and maybe get it on the side or say no sauce like I do. They offer tasty desserts you don't typically find elsewhere. The space itself is large, clean, and well-maintained, with plenty of TVs, making it a good spot for watching games or gathering with friends. There is plenty of parking, but sometimes that parking is a bit of a walk if it's a busy time but typically always find parking... rarely have to go to the underground parking lot. Service can be inconsistent, especially when it comes to larger groups or parties, which can slow things down at times. Overall, while it's not my top choice, it's a place I still enjoy going to and will continue to return to.
