We been ordering from Spice since they were at East End and continued when they moved to Lexington Ave (10 years) Boy we were surprised when we opened the packaged meals at home. We ordered various pad thai and general tso. The size was HALF the normal size for the same price. Literally half. So we called them up to inquire about the half size and spoke to the manager and he made it seem that they been doing this for years (really). If they have informed us that the lunch special portion has changed we would have respected that. Not to inform customers of change of policy/portions is wrong. Not closed, but I can definitely see why it would be. The food was awful, and the service was even worse. My delivery showed up 40-50 minutes later than it was supposed to. I understand that orders can run late, but the restaurant marked my order delivered an hour before it had, so it appeared on time on Seamless. The food arrived ice cold when it did finally show up (and just plain bad, to boot). I ended up having to throw most of the order away. Worst of all, the delivery person was extremely rude when he arrived and repeatedly yelled at me for not meeting him downstairs and making him late?? Wanted pho so ordered the number 26: ox pho. Apparently they didn't have rare or well done beef pho. Since it's ox bo, it is a bit thicker and gooey chewy. That's ok. Noodles are good. Broth is okay, not a strong flavor. When getting delivery, I got one basil leaf and a few bean sprouts so make sure to ask for more. Also, I got a lemon wedge and not lime which is normally for pho. This is a good place to go if you want a quiet place to sit and enjoy decently priced Chinese food on the middle of a Saturday. We ordered 3 summer rolls, the cucumber salad, and vegetarian fried rice. ($18 in total). You order your food at the counter and pay, then sit to wait for the food to be delivered to your table. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was fresh. The cucumber salad was a bit small, but yummy. The rice was flavorful and had a great variety of vegetables. And the summer rolls were just so-so as they were mostly filled with noodles and not very many veggies (and 2 shrimp each). There are no water cups but you can buy a bottle of water for $1. The restroom had running water and a working toilet, but that's about it. The woman who took our order and delivered the food was quiet but kind. 3/5 stars because of the bathroom situation, smaller portioned cucumber salad, and so-so summer rolls. BYOB. Pho. Cha Gio. Very happy to see this new Vietnamese dining option in the neighborhood. This place used to be Chinese take-out, but has reopened with a new name, menu and decor. I called up and asked if they have wine. Not yet. But would they allow a BYOB? Sure, no problem. The seating area is inviting with black tables, a pretty chandelier and an enthusiastic waiter who will take your order at a table for dine in or the counter for take out My husband and I brought our own corkscrew and we were presented with large water-glasses for the wine. The menu is a mix of Vietnamese standards - Bun, La Sa Ga and Pho mixed in with some Thai and various Americanized Chinese dishes. I ordered the Pho and was overall happy. The broth was not that developed or rich (you know the good stuff with roasted bones and a shimmer of fat on top) but it was was flavorful, with all of the right spices. The serving size was huge, with basil, bean sprouts, hoisin and siracha on the side. The raw beef on top cooked slowly in the broth when it was presented to the table, as it should. I found it to be tender and flavorful. The Cha Gio was nice and crispy, served with lettuce for wrapping. My husband got Noodles, #55, hot and spicy curry broth. It was very spicy (hot) and delicious with huge shrimp. Our bill: ~$20. (You can't get a snack and two glasses of wine across the street for less than $30). But I guess you pay for ambiance hence. . . the gripe: there were several MTA workers who just got off work and came to get some dinner. They were pretty loud and foul-mouthed until my husband gave them a look. They work a 16 hour day and need a place to have some grub- I get it, but seriously, this place is not serving chicken wings in Styrofoam as was the previous tenant so basic manners are in order. read more

I've placed several seamless orders due to quick delivery and open late hours. Overall it's alright, reasonably priced and has wide variety of items, not entirely sure it will be my goto but will give it a few whirls and try some other items and update this review. I've tried: La Sa Ga - It's ok, the curry is a bit light, I got the small portion and it was wasn't too filling but reasonably priced. I might order again if I am craving curry and noodles, maybe they can spice it up upon request. Roast Pork Bun - I don't have a feeling they make this on site but it is consistently tasty and cheap (for delivery, but more expensive than a bakery) Bun noodles - I think the best item I've tried here, they are generous with the noodles, fish sauce is on point and both pork and shrimp were cooked and seasoned well. Pho - Awful, very bland and the beef tasted off. I've tried it twice and won't make the same mistake a third time. read more

I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before I ordered. My experience was quite good. It was even early! I ordered through Seamless and was pleasantly surprised that it arrived like 20 minutes later with full silverware, chow mein noodles, and an awesome fortune cookie. The food was pretty delicious for under $20 Chinese food. I had the beef and broccoli (asked for it spicy and they obliged) with pork fried rice and a hot and sour soup. Hot and sour soup saves me during flu season. Honestly, I'll definitely order from here again. Nothing else around here has come even close to the taste and service. This place is back open. It did appear to close for a bit, but I ordered from here last night. I did notice some differences, so there may be different ownership or some changes made? Food tastes a little different (not any worse or better, but it does seem like maybe a different chef or small changes in recipe), different packaging, now comes with different sauces and a fortune cookie, etc. Again, mild differences, no big change, but enough to think that maybe someone different is running the place. Seamless reviews suck. I ordered the "bun xao," and it's not bun xao. It's kind of like pad Thai without the sweet & sour sauce. Either way it's looks unappetizing - the color is all white (white noodle, dry white chicken meat + shreds of white cabbage). The taste is OK but is not enough to make you want to order again. On the other hand, we also order Kung Pao chicken and it's really nice with fresh vegetables (zuchinni, celery, mushroom, etc). I guess it only makes sense to order Chinese from here. read more

Solidly ok place for take out. I work nearby and they deliver very quickly. The lunch special is the best deal and I've never really been disappointed. It's nothing I'd go out of the way for though. As far as the Vietnamese options, this is NOT a Vietnamese restaurant and id stay away from the pho or other Vietnamese dishes if you are looking for authenticity. My boyfriend and I ordered take out from here the other day through seamless.com. We found the place because we were really craving some Vietnamese pho -- turns out, they don't have any vegetarian pho =( but we were hungry and they had a large vegetarian section, so we ordered anyways. We got the vegetarian summer rolls, the Curry Tau Hu, and the Sesame Tofu. The summer rolls were disappointing -- just rice noodles and romaine lettuce, no tofu, no carrots, nothing else. To make matters worse, the rice wrapper was broken when we got them, so as soon as we picked them up, we were basically holding a pile of rice noodles and romaine lettuce in our hands... sad. Won't order again. The Curry Tau Hu was yummy! The curry taste was very distinct but good, and there were a ton of different vegetables in the dish, which I liked. The Sesame Tofu was also yummy, but for different reasons. It basically reminded me of generic "Orange Chicken," back when I used to eat chicken at greasy Chinese restaurants. So it didn't really make me think of healthy food (somehow, I was expecting some healthy from "sesame tofu") but it was very yummy for what it was. Other thoughts: * I live on the UWS and delivery was quick (less than 20 mins) and the food was still nice and warm when we got it -- great! * I like that they have a dedicated vegetarian menu section. * I wish they would add vegetarian pho to their menu. Weird that this place has two Yelp profiles "Asian gourmet" and"spice noodle" since it's the same place. Your typical neighborhood Chinese take out except they also have a large amount of Vietnamese and South East Asian flavored menu items. I had extra sauce and to my surprise it turns out you can buy additional Roti for $2 each. I also got the #15 salad. I realize some people here may have had delivery issues, but I've ordered from here twice and I've never had a problem. But the food (for the very inexpensive price), is among the best I've had in a while. The menu is Vietnamese, but also offers Chinese and Thai options. I've had the sweet and sour chicken (which I'm SUPER picky about) and this dish was AMAZING: tons of veggies and fruits in the sweet but not gooey sauce and great lightly fried REAL pieces of chicken. I ordered the pad thai today and while not the absolute best I've had, still offered lots of shrimp for the price and good hot sauce (I think the hot sauce is a sriracha, not regular chinese hot oil). Fabulous lunch special! So many options to choose from! I get takeout from here about once a week and have not been disappointed yet. It's your standard Asian fare. I wouldn't say I'm shocked by the uniqueness of the food, but it's always just what I'm craving. Delivery is usually pretty quick (depending on the weather and time of day) and probably the friendliest delivery men on the island. I don't have to pray I catch the bag of food as they throw it across the threshold of the door, like 99.9% of delivery exchanges here in the city. This no-atmosphere spot was a pleasant surprise. Set up like a no-frills Chinese takeout joint, it has a slew of Vietnamese dishes and a couple of Thai items. I got #68, Curry Tau Hu (tofu). I went here yesterday, craving veggies. I decided on spring rolls and the Goi Ga salad. The salad was $7 and the spring rolls, I can't remember. This place is expensive for the amount of food they give. They charged me for a few tiny piece of chicken and peanuts in my salad a whole bunch of lettuce. Although the taste of the dressing was not bad, it was not too flavorful. I've ordered from here a few times. I got the wonton soup once, it wasn't all that great. I sometimes get the pho and every time I do, I kind of regret it. Perhaps it's because I get take out, so it's not cooked properly because of how fast the noodles cook in the proper temperature broth. But still the broth is very bland. I'm not sure if it's because it's geared towards the area but it's just not that good. I make the mistake of ordering it whenever I crave pho. Then when I get it, I remember why I don't get it more often. I've also had the scallion pancakes here. It's ok. As far as delivery goes, they are quick about it so that's nice. The price is reasonable especially for the area and the portions are decent. My mom and I sat and ate here once. This place definitely isn't the prettiest restaurant I have ever seen. I wouldn't go here for lunch or dinner with friends. It's quite a big place and it's a real shame they're not making more of it. 2 issues with my order last night. I ordered a soup and pork buns. Food didn't come for 90 minutes. Also, when food arrived they had run out of pork buns and substituted spring rolls instead. They still charged me. When I called to complain they said they called me which is a lie. I had no missed call AND I had called earlier to see where my food was and they said it was on the way-no mention of a substitution in my order. read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. Placed an order on Seamless at 9:30 p.m. At 11:00 p.m the food was nowhere to be found. I called and they said that the "delivery man was on the way". Gave it 15 more minutes. No delivery man. I called AGAIN and they said he was coming. At this point I was fed up. I live close, so I decided to walk over there. I saw an employee standing outside and asked him if I could speak to someone inside, and he completely ignored me. I go inside and I see the woman who had been misleading me for the past few hours. I calmly told her I was the one who called and never got my food. She seemed completely unfazed and acted as if I was lying. I pulled up my Seamless receipt and she still looked clueless. The employee walked back in and shuffled through their Seamless receipts and I pointed out mine. They still were not answering as to why my food hadn't arrived. He then called someone who spoke English and had them speak to me. The woman on the phone asked me a bunch of questions, but none answering WHERE MY FOOD WAS. The man took the phone back and spoke to her for a minute or two. He told me to "hurry" and that the delivery man was waiting for me at my building. I made sure I understood him and he hurried me out. I get to my building and of course, there was no one there. Not to mention the man laughed at me as I walked out. I call the restaurant back twice and got no one. By this time, it's midnight so I called Seamless to tell them to cancel my order and ask for a refund, which they did. The Seamless representative tried to reach the restaurant, but they didn't answer again. About 10 minutes later, the woman calls again and asks if I would like to place a new order. this is nearly 3 hours later. When I declined, and said I was simply not going to wait any longer, she became angry and hung up. I cannot believe this place exists. Who knew ordering delivery would be such a hassle... read more

Its our go to place for take outs. Food is always fresh and tastes great. Portions are big and reasonably priced.

This is the fastest Asian takeout I've had in NYC. They also package the food well and give you plates to eat it on which is cool. I think it's decently priced; I would not give it three dollar signs. The place feels clean too.
