Before I ate here, I thought almost all Thai food was about the same quality. Sadly, Miracle Thai seems to correct that assumption as it ended up tasting fairly lackluster in comparison. I've been twice now and neither meal did much to impress me. The first time, I ordered the red curry with chicken and the second time the chicken pad thai. The red curry barely had any chicken in it and was very vegetable heavy with broccoli and carrots (which are odd choices of vegetables for a curry). The rice, however, seemed to be fried rice or at the very least slightly flavored, which was a nice touch. The pad thai is too one dimensional, only tasting lightly sweet. The noodles are mostly springy, but seem a tad tough - a usual indication in rice noodles that they're a day old (not too bad, but not the optimal texture). The best part of the meal every time has been the Thai iced tea which comes free with lunch. It's a fairly strong tasting brew and the sweetness of the condensed milk really shines through. Overall, this truck serves for a fairly quick lunch if you don't have time to stand in line for the others along Broadway bear campus, but there's a reason why Miracle Thai's line is noticeably shorter. On days where I have more flexible lunch breaks, I prefer to order seamless from Tum & Yum instead (for about the same price). read more

I often shy away from anything food truck. However, my co-worker and classmate kept raving about Miracle Thai. So, one day I went and got the tofu drunken noodles. I have been quite obsessed ever since. I return often, probably once a week outside Columbia since I work and go to school here. I get the tofu drunken almost every time. The biggest problem with this place is that the hours are not consistent. They weren't here during the regular semester (I'm attending summer school at the moment). They say that they're here all week, but they're not around on Tuesday, and I haven't seen them here on other days as well. Furthermore, the hours are kind of inconsistent. They usually only leave once they sell out (which is a good enough reason), but the variance is too high for my liking. Still, some of the food here is nice. The $7 lunch option is interesting. Some of the choices are better than others: I would recommend the pork, the omelette, or the fried fish. Don't get the chicken, because the last time I ordered it, it wasn't real chicken, but instead some sort of cardboard-y tofu thing, which was concerning. You can also get some of the more standard options like pad see ew or another noodle dish. All are pretty good, and at a totally reasonable price. I'd recommend this place, since it's a good deal. By the way, these guys take venmo as payment, so that's really nice. No matter what you wind up ordering from this place, you get a free thai tea, which contains milk. read more

The lady working the cart was super friendly and cute. I ordered the drunken noodle and it was interestingly sweet? Usually, this dish is slightly spicy, not sweet so it wasn't my favorite. I went back home and added red chili flakes to spice it up but it was really sweet already which I'm not sure why. Perhaps they add a lot of sugar? When I first started working by the Columbia campus, I was ecstatic to find out there were so many food cart options. Eventually my happiness turned to hell as I found out how terrible the lines were. One cold rainy day (I actually remember the day), I saw Miracle Thai setting up. Knowing that they would soon be swarmed I ordered the first of many Pad See Ews and have been addicted ever since. I love the fact that they give a free thai iced tea with your lunch. Easily a great deal in the food wasteland that is UWS. The lines that form here can easily be skipped by calling your order in. Make sure you do this it'll definitely cut down on how long you have to wait for your food! The Chicken Pad See Ew is seasoned perfectly, offering that great balance of sweet and savory and is easily my go to pick. Chicken or beef pad sew ew. Do it. You just have to. Great option for Columbia students, $7 for a full meal (sometimes leftovers) and thai iced tea. And they take credit card which is great (most of the other carts on Broadway by Columbia don't). I get pad see ew at least once a week or biweekly. Nothing beats miracle Thai. The people are nice, the food is great, and the prices are very reasonable. If you're a thai food Fanatic, or a foodie in general, you'll fall in love with this Mom and pop style food cart. There is a reason why this cart is the most popular among Columbia students-- it's simply the best. Though the prices are lower, it is a pleasant surprise that this cart has SIGNIFICANTLY better quality food and service than it's nearby sit-down competitor, Thai market. I was about to go to the usual line of food carts outside the Columbia campus for a quick lunch until I saw Miracle Thai. Seeing that I just came back from living in Southeast Asia for 5 years, I of course gravitated toward this cart and got basil chili chicken with rice and am writing this Yelp review as I eat. The rice is a nice firm Thai rice and the Thai fish sauce and flavored are all there--maybe just a little salty than what I'm used to but otherwise it's great. The 4.5 star total is probably skewed because not enough people have reviewed this food cart yet. In my mind it's a solid 3 stars - not great, but not off-putting either, and a good convenient lunch option for $7, next to campus and the subway, and including a mini Thai iced tea. As another reviewer remarked, the noodles are a bit tough and the pad thai is on the sweet side. I also find the Thai iced tea to taste slightly diluted compared to better ones I've had (although I only notice this when I drink it by itself without any food). However, it still gets the job done as far as being a decently satisfying lunch. Would I recommend this as a destination to friends? No, of course not, especially when you have some solid Thai restaurants in the area, not to mention a variety of other kinds of lunch options. I spent the bulk of my time at Columbia extremely stressed out and depressed. The only bright point of my day would be trying out the food carts. On a whim, got the Drunken Noodles from here, and it blew my hair back. I had little to no experience with Thai food, so I had no idea what I was in for. It was great, especially for the price point. A large amount of well made noodles, with a huge portion of meat and vegetables. Since then, I've started trekking around the city, trying Drunken Noodles elsewhere. In easily over a dozen different trips, nothing has compared to Miracle Thai. It was simultaneously more delicious AND cheaper than anywhere else I've been in Manhattan. Love love love it. read more

I'd say drunken noodle is their specialty and tastes different in a good good way from other nearbya Thai places. I've also had their pad Thai and pad see ew, which is gud but just not as yummy as drunken noodles. The flavor really mixes into the chewy noodles and is a must try. If you're going in at lunchtime, I'd say either go before 12 or after 2, otherwise it's extremely busy. The people in the cart are friendly, and feel free to request extra veggies - no extra charge, + free Thai iced tea, which tastes pretty legit, all for $7! I do think they might cook with MSG since I get a dry taste in my mouth after, but this is a must try regardless! read more
