Signature Pho Grand Lunch
Serapina C.

A cozy little spot for Vietnamese food near 103rd with good food and service! Their lunch specials are a decent deal so I highly recommend!! I tried their grand signature pho for their lunch special ($18) on a cold rainy day (perfect weather for pho). Nice and flavorful with different cuts of beef - their broth is on the richer side for my preference but nonetheless soothing and very filling. The second time I got their vermicelli noodle bowl which comes with vegetables and a choice of protein ($18) - I got the braised pork which is kind of salty but kinda gets balanced with the noodles and veggies. The portion size for this one is pretty massive so you def get a bang for your buck.

Just Pho You is an UWS gem! When we've dined it's never been too busy that we can't get a table. The videos of Vietnam playing in the background are a nice touch. The short rib pho was massive and very tasty too! The other phos are solid too. We also had the bun bo hue but I think I personally prefer pho over this type of soup. The broth here really shines and is worth trying! Would recommend.

Came on a rainy/snowy day after an eye appointment. Small quaint establishment, wonderful service. Ordered the oxtail pho, which was absolutely phenomenal. The broth had such depth of flavor, rich but still light. I loved the variety of options of sides with a typical hoisin sauce, sriracha and chili oil. The large bowl definitely worth the price. Noodles, we're cooked just right, everything was great.

Just Pho You wasn't really for me, but that's okay. They don't seem especially authentic; their BBH (Bun Ho Hue) didn't really taste much like traditional BBH at all, as it wasn't spicy or aromatic, though it was certainly flavorful and infused with lemongrass notes. The meat was delicious and tender, however. And true to their name, they were okay with substitutions, allowing me to request rice pho noodles instead of the usual BBH round noodles. I'd give them about a 7/10. Not awful but also not one of my favorite Viet restaurants in the area (that'd be Banh). Staff was friendly and helpful. Prices weren't exorbitant but not great value either. I'd come back to try their lunch menu or happy hour selections. Bathroom was on the untidy/unclean side. Interior was well decorated, with enough room and tables for about 20 people.

I picked this place at random on a night I was craving Pho and was not disappointed! Just Pho You is a cute little restaurant with a whimsical vibe. Not to mention the name is clever AF. The pho was so delicious and warm. The price is justified by the massive bowl of pho you are served. On the table there was a description of how to eat pho and I think it was so thoughtful. The service was great and easygoing. It seems like a spot loved by locals, those are usually the best places. I will definitely be returning and speaking highly of your restaurant.

Food: 3.5/5 Atmosphere: 2.5/5 Service: 4/5 I rounded up because service was friendly and the pho is one of the best in nyc. The crispy spring rolls can be skipped because it was so oily. If it was fried with less oil and less time it would've been really tasty! I got the grand pho and was able to swap out tendons for meatballs (or any meat choice), which I thought was really nice of them to offer! It was one of the biggest portions I've gotten in nyc for pho for everything broth, meats, noodles. It was pretty good, I enjoyed it. The broth could be a bit bolder, but I'd say this was top 3 pho I've had in NYC. Sadly it's a bit far from me, so I wouldn't make the trek for it, but if I'm in the area I'd stop by! There was only 1 waiter on duty when we went, which rightfully so because we came at 9:45pm. He was really friendly and very accommodating, a bit hard to get his attention but we didn't mind it. The restaurant had a strange smell when we first entered and the bathroom could have a better atmosphere.

Comparable to other Asian Cuisines, Vietnamese food was not my most common choice; prior to this I had only had a summer roll and vegetable pho before. But after visiting Just Pho You, I've expanded my palette and am excited to try and share more. The Fried Tofu Banh Mi was delicious and refreshing. Mainly; the pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber and veggies carried their own flavor profile, as did the French bread, baked fresh and delivered daily. Pho was warm and hearty and the portions for this were gigantic. I took my broth home and have had three uses. Service was quick, the waiter handled a lot of the front of store duties and you couldn't see the back but was clearly efficient. It was definitely a cosy experience in the middle of this thunderstorm.

Vegetarian Pho (V)(Gf)

Amazing veggie pho, great authentic pho flavor with great array of veggies and tofu you get in it.

Great quality, great size!!! This Vietnamese pho experience was nothing short of a culinary spectacle. The moment the giant beef bone arrived submerged in a steaming bowl of broth, I knew I was in for a treat. The broth itself was deeply aromatic, filled with layers of beefy richness, scallions, cilantro, and a touch of sweetness that clung to the noodles perfectly. The bone marrow was tender and luscious, easily scooped out and mixed into the soup for added depth.

I recommend Just Pho You on the Upper West Side in 101st Street and Broadway. My fiancée and I had the lemon grass wings and the vegetarian spring rolls as an appetizer. For the entree we had beef short rib pho. The food is AMAZING. You will not be disappointed. Also the owner her name is Wan she was very welcoming and hospitable. The experience was awesome. I will definitely come again.

Terrible experience. Not fresh ingredients. And painfully painfully slow service despite the restaurant being empty on a Sunday.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. When it finally arrived, the soup lacked that authentic pho aroma, which was a letdown. On the plus side, the beef was fresh, and the reusable to-go bag was a nice touch. Decent, but the wait and price make it hard to love. Might try again if they speed things up.

After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.

It is usually packed during meal times so expect a wait or choose to order take out to save on wait times. I personally love when the Bahn mi is stuffed with both the meat and veggies, it has the perfect ratio. Sometimes there's not enough filling and it feels like you are only eating bread, but at Nom Nam that is definitely not the case. The Pho was also pretty flavorful and it wasn't the best I have had but it was still really good given that I haven't found too many Pho places that I love in nyc. I definitely recommend adding Nom Nam to your lists of places to try!

I'm not in the area very often so this review is for first impressions…read more Naturally how I heard about this place is how any of us hear about anywhere now... TikTok. Do I agree it's "the best pho in nyc"? Hell no. Would I say it's a pretty damn solid pho? *bleep* yeah. I think it also helped that there was a surprising amount of Vietnamese people dining there. For perspective, we're a bit of a rare breed in nyc itself and much less in this pocket of Manhattan. Suffice it to say, it's a Viet restaurant worth going out of your way for. So-- here are the things I unexpectedly like about Nom Nam: * I love love love the diner homage. It's common for new restaurants to play it safe or create an environment of grandeur, that people are often adverse to have fun. This checkered multi-colored menu, neon sign having, is unapologetically fun. The sign on the wall "troi dat oi" is a passive aggressive phrase all Vietnamese moms say. I could do with a different name than "Nom Nam" but it is easy to remember. * The pho: SOLID! Can we take a minute and celebrate reliability without admonishing mediocrity? I like eating upscale obscured ingredients more than the next guy but I'd much prefer a consistent reliably good savory pho or a cold/hungover/sick night. * The Bo Luc Lac: look... or luc (hehe don't kill me-- my gf just sneered at me), the BLL did not have that desired wok hay seared outside but the meat-- tender, the sauce-- immaculate, my stomach-- happy. Honestly I'd buy that sauce alone. Things I didn't like (or care for really): * The cocktail: I like a place with a dedicated cocktail list bespoke to them but they played it safe here. There was one item that could be considered the most Vietnamese but it came off generic. I mean it's a good cocktail but lacks that special flair the rest of the restaurant is doing great at. * The wings: the wings were good. In fact, they tasted exactly how my mom makes them and she's considered the best cook out of 7 siblings. That being said, 4 wings? I know, you probably don't wanna do that either; I blame the economy... and a certain party making the economy worse as we speak. * The pho descriptions on the menu: as a Viet, I even had a hard time discerning what makes each one distinct. I feel like ai would be a good use case here to help Things I'll be coming back for: * Them Banh Mis * The coffees * The homemade limeade & salted plum I appreciate the waitress admitting the limeade was really sweet, so I'll go on a day where I had a good gym sesh or something

So when my family stumbled into Pho 39, a tiny spot with just a handful of tables tucked away from the chaos outside, it felt less like finding a restaurant and more like discovering a Rebel outpost that somehow survived undetected in the middle of Imperial territory. The menu is exactly what you'd expect from a solid Vietnamese spot: pho, combination rice plates, the usual lineup. We were ready to order and move on with our lives. Then we saw the tacos. Vietnamese tacos. On the menu. Sitting right there between the banh mi and the spring rolls like they'd always belonged. Nobody in my family said anything for a full three seconds, which for us is basically a standing ovation. We ordered the duck spring rolls to start, which were fresh, well packed, and disappeared faster than a starfighter in hyperspace. For the mains we went with the beef flank pho and the banh mi combination special. The pho had a clean, well developed broth that clearly had some time put into it, and the beef flank was tender enough to make you slow down and pay attention. The banh mi combo was solid, balanced, and hit all the right notes. We did not get the tacos this visit, which means we have a built in reason to return and nobody can argue with that logic. For a small room in the middle of one of the busiest cities on the planet, Pho 39 manages to feel genuinely calm and focused. Good food, good value, and a menu with enough surprises to keep things interesting. The Force is strong with this little spot.
