Oh wow, I loved this place. Me and my buddies took out first trip to downtown Fullerton here and it was our first stop because we randomly chose a place and bam, we landed here. Great service! Some of the nicest people I have ever seen or talked with at a public place. I can't remember their names but one dude had glasses and was really nice to us. And a bald man as well. They were very awesome. Helped us understand what we were getting and gave helpful descriptions on the drinks. Cracked some jokes with us. He even helped us out and pointed on many other good spots in the downtown we should hit up and wished us well on our night. Definitely want to go back there. Monday night ambience around 6pm: Dimmed lights, clean, quiet. Bathrooms were very clean too. Sinks looked low enough for wheelchairs. Wine: Friend had a glass of Grassini, and I had the moscato which was light and tasted just as it was described. I couldn't finish mine because I don't usually drink alcohol. Food: Baked Brie is their popular dish. Pork belly was very tender and juicy. Their homemade pickles were sweet, tangy, thinly sliced but still crunchy. This is probably my favorite local winebar. They have a great selection of BOTH FOOD AND DRINK. I have been going here since after college to meet up with old friends and it has always been the perfect setting-intimate and not too loud. They give you a tasting of any wines you may want to try. Foodwise, I always go for the BRIE BOWL with or without chorizo AND the chocolate molten lava cake (not sure on the name but this is essentially what it is). I'm hardly in the Fullerton/Anaheim area but was in the area for a wedding and decided to stop by a wine bar to kill some time before another event (yes, it was a busy night). Strolled in around 8:30pm or so but finding parking was still a bit of a challenge. There are a couple lots in the area but they were pretty packed. We were lucky enough to snag a parking spot when a car left. The wine bar gives off a nice vibe with dim lights and high chairs. They have a pretty extensive wine list with options for wine flights and to order by the bottle. They had a full menu of food options as well and beer if you desired. It was a bit empty when we initially walked in but it got pretty packed by the time we left around 9:30/10pm. Was in the area for a Disneyland trip & after a long day, we wanted to stop somewhere for a glass of wine before heading back to the hotel. My brother found Twisted Vine on Yelp. I was hesitant because I didn't know if it was necessary to be dressy because we were in Disneyland attire, but yelp said casual attire, so I said let's drop by & see how it is. We walked up and I saw a group of girls dressed up and thought "ehhhhh" but still opened the door & walked in. We walked in and we were instantly greeted with how many in our party and we asked if we could just sit at the bar, so we did. I saw someone in a hat & t-shirt, so I felt better after that. Yelp was right! We were given menus & Dave greeted us just a few minutes later asking us what we wanted. We each ordered wine and a few appetizers. Dave was amazing to us! He made us feel so welcome & helped us deciding what to get. My mom & brother aren't huge wine drinkers and Dave was super helpful. It's sometimes intimidating when you're not a wine drinker & visit a wine bar, but Twisted Vine is for all levels of wine drinkers & we appreciated that. The other bartenders were also really attentive. Service was great and Dave was the best. He really made our experience a great one. Thank you guys! We've been twice, and both times were very pleased. Service was friendly and quick, and they offered great wine suggestions. We got baked brie that was unbelievable...we wanted to order a second one just because it was so good! We had chorizo empanadas that were very tasty, although because they're smaller (bite size), they seem a bit doughy. If you like olives, order the olive appetizer! Basically any and all of their small plates are unbelievable. This is definitely a spot we will visit frequently, as the environment is relaxed and we love the outdoor patio. read more

I was extremely disappointed by the service here. It was nonexistent except for maybe one or two of the guys. The women were SO unfriendly; I couldn't believe it. I can't comment on their food or wine because I wanted to give them as little of my money as possible and only ordered one cider I was already familiar with. I came here with a decent sized group of coworkers. Our group ended up being too large to fit without another chair. One of the blonde women just told us no, it can't be done. There were no other chairs for us. The person that showed up to join our group awkwardly squeezed into the booth. After that, my friend came so I thought she and I would just have to leave. Some of the guys in our group said they'd go ahead and stand. My friend didn't want to get mixed up in the group's tab, so she went to the bar. The woman there told her no, we can't do that. She said my friend would have to go back to our table and order. What??? Our other friend had gotten his drinks at the bar. Why are all the women here miserable? I asked one if she could please break a $50 for me. She just said, "Okay," extremely monotone. At one point, a male server was kind of arguing with my coworker about whether we had actually ordered something. The worker said we weren't sure so the waiter didn't put the order in. My coworker assured him he wanted to order the the item. The waiter offered no apology for the misunderstanding and just asked, "So did you want it?" Whether you come here for date night or girls' night, you won't be disappointed. Although this is a wine bar, there are also some craft beers available. I think the chalkboard by the bar constantly changes depending on what they have on tap. I've only tried their wine flights, baked brie & artisan meat plate in the past but they were all awesome! The baked brie will keep you wanting more for sure. I love the dimly lit outdoor patio since it's less noisy compared to the indoor seating area. Twisted Vine closed at 10 PM last Saturday night August 24th, 2019. They didn't care that ppl came to the door looking to come in. At least five different ppl came up after I did, and a large group of women but the door was locked. My friend let me in. Bartender was very clear that they were CLOSING. I said that's not what is advertised or on Yelp, and she said, yeah, well were closing, now I gave last call, in fact we're closed. I begged her for a glass of chard so I could at least visit with my friends a bit. Quite a few ppl in there. Don't know what that deal was about, but 10 PM on a Saturday night? I cannot sing enough praises about TV! Why? Baked Bried Bowl and Wine! The Braked Brie Bowl is a loaf of sourdough carved out and filled with melted brie. There is an assortment of toasted garlic bread pieces that are like croutons and apple slices to dip into the cheese. Top that off with some wine and you are guaranteed a fulfilling evening. If you order a flight, their pours are pretty generous! Lots of seating and plenty of parking in the back lot. Whenever I am in Fullerton, I always make a stop by this bar! We came in tonight to use our gift certificate. My first experience of this place was poor but tonight experience changed my perspective. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the two bartenders and given the food/drink menus. Within minutes we were offered water and we ordered 3 items, the bakes brie, a flat bread pizza and a roast beef panini. My bf also got the Amber Lager. Our food came out shortly and the bartenders kept checking on us throughout the course of our meals. The staff here were very friendly and the portions of the food here are generous. I enjoyed the Baked Brie and my Bf enjoyed his panini especially the house salad it came with. The flat bread pizza was too salty for my liking so i didn't end up finishing it. #93 Review for the 2016 Yelp 100 Challenge I was so happy GLOY got together before the end of 2016! And what better way than at a wine bar. In OC! Holla! Gigi M's last visit here was a few years back but it was Belle B's and Chel's first time here. G also got ROTD here but I guess to one of the staff at TV, Yelp reviews are not a big thing for him. I'm like WTF?! You have GLOY elite status up in your house and this is the kind of love we get! Dude, your grub better be good! And I am not making this up. Ask GLOY! Anyway... We started with- Goat cheese flatbread -really good especially if you like herbed goat cheese which G loves. Great flavors with the spinach, basil, and tomatoes drizzled with olive oil. A little overboard on the tomatoes but ok for tomato lovers. Flatbread could've been more crusty but I'm just picky! Mushroom mac n cheese- really good. Baked cheddar cheese with shrooms topped with crispy crusted bacon. That's why I loved it! Everything IS better with Bacon! Good job TV! However, I would've liked it more smoother and creamy but loved the flavors and added texture from the mushrooms as well. We then ordered - Chorizo Crostini- a little on the sweet side from the spanish chorizo. I think we werent expecting sweet but rather a kick or something...but I liked it. It worked well with the manchego (my favorite cheese!) on toasted french baguette with quince paste. Short rib panini- the one I was eyeing even before arriving was a disappointment for me. It lacked flavor even though the short rib was tender. I truly felt it was missing an ingredient or two. Perhaps if they added more of the red pepper aioli? Or more grilled onions? Or provolone cheese? Hhmmm... plus I thought paninis were suppose to be super thin??? However, the tomato bisque that accompanied it was delicious. Really creamy and amazing consistency topped with herbed goat cheese! Baked brie- OMG! This was UHMAZING! Brie is one of my favorite cheeses next to manchego. Great presentation inside the sourdough bread bowl with toasted sourdough bites and apple slices on the side. I want this again! Great pick G!!! Everything paired well with my Cult Cabernet Sauvignon! Strawberry cheesecake was the unanimous dessert pick for the night and it was really good. Light and tasty with with whipped cream and strawberry compote. Topped with grated crust. It was almost an upside down Strawberry cheesecake. Really cute presentation and also was a perfect ending to an amazing feast! Lots of plus and minuses here. But overall a great grub and drank spot. This place is one of my favorite wine bars and it's in the smack middle of the crazy downtown Fullerton! DTF can be classy too if you visit this place! I absolutely love the dark romantic ambiance as well as their extensive wine selection. We got the meat and cheese plate, brio dip with a few wines which was plenty of food for two people. My husband loves to take me here for date night every now and then. We love it. Nice setting, comfortable tables and couch areas, and even some outdoor seating. They have a very impressive wine list. We have liked most everything we have tried, and have even purchased bottles to take home. Their food is good as well. We like to stick to the cheese plate, as there is no better meal than wine and cheese (who is with me!) Parking is either on the street or a nearby lot. Depending on the day of the week, parking can be tough...but that is Downtown Fullerton for you. Don't drink and drive! Uber it. You will want to enjoy the great wine. read more

My birthday choice for a casual fun dinner. Thank you again yelp, this place is a winner! Parking can be a pain but there is a free lot in back of this establishment. We ordered the red, white and beer flights. Fun to taste all the different beverages and to share and discuss with our group. This is the way to go if you want to discover new wines and beer. However, they do give you tasters if you want to try something else. On to food, first we had the charcuterie plate ($27) with 3 cheeses, 3 meat, fig jam, mustard, spicy vinegary herby thing (yum), candied pecans, pickles, olives and nice loaf of crusty bread. The selection of cheeses were good, the salami and other meat were nice quality and great flavor. Also had the fig and blue cheese salad ($12) which was very tasty, tomato basil bisque ($5 for bowl which was a good size) which was great for dipping our bread and the baked brie ($15). Shall I say that baked brie was a big surprise, large amount of melted brie inside a bread bowl surrounded by large chunks of toasted bread and apples. This feast was wonderful, everything we had was good and I'd recommend to everyone. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and unhurried. The patrons were relaxed and not the typical wine bar snotty oc crowd (yay!) Couches with low tables, high tops with bar stools or the bar, everywhere is a good seat. I like wine but don't know much about it, can't keep track of all the names or types of wines, there are just way too many! So it's great to go to a place and leave it to the experts! Twisted Vine was the first choice when we decided to hit up Downtown Fullerton on a Saturday night. After reading all the great reviews, we were looking forwards to trying this place out for the first time. The restaurant is lightly dimmed with an intimate setting. The walls are lined across with bottles and bottles of different types of wine. The wooden barrels added a special touch to the modern decor. It's very spacious with plenty of sofa seats, tables and chairs. There's also a patio with plenty of outside seating and heat lamps. There was no hostess in the front so we decided it would be more comfortable to enjoy a bottle of wine sitting on the sofa seats instead of the regular chairs. We walked over to the sofa area and asked the people sitting acoss if the seats were taken, which they were not so we went ahead and sat ourselves. Literally the moment we sat down, the person in charge came up to us and told us rudely that we could not sit there. She used the same tone that would be used for scolding a child who had done something wrong. She then sarcastically said unless we wanted to pay the bill for the party of two sitting on the sofa across from the one we were sitting in, we wouldn't be able to stay there. I pesonally felt she frowned upon us. There was absolutely no need to be rude and nasty,especially to customers who want to give you their business. A simple you can't sit there would have been enough. We didn't even get the chance to look at the menu. Our experience was so tainted we decided to leave and head over to Hopscotch. Upon leaving we were offered no apologies but just another distasteful look. Two stars for Twisted Vine. I would NEVER set foot in this place again. read more
