Would not have found this without Yelp. I had an errand nearby that didn't take as long as expected, and looked for Chinese food nearby. This is in a tiny strip, and it's easy enough to find if you know it's there but does not stand out as a restaurant from the main roads. Small inside but clean and comfy. You can dine-in, but it is mainly a carryout place (even before the current situation.) And, it's not just Chinese, it's Thai, and there are plenty of interesting options. I went with one of my standards, pad see ew (wide rice noodles, meat, veggies.) It was one of the best versions I've ever had. Perfect proportions of noodles, chicken, veggies (sprouts, peas, green onions, etc.) In a savory sauce. Yum. I also got crab Rangoon. Good, but overcooked, especially at the edges. Still enjoyable. Friendly, fast, basic service. Pop in bottles or at the fountain. Maybe a little expensive for the portion size (I had no leftovers, sadly,) but not bad, and it's good stuff. read more

A small moderately maintained restaurant in a small marginal strip center. Adequate off street parking at a reasonably busy intersection. The only employee I saw working there was seated at a table eating when I arrived. He brought me a menu when I told him I wanted to dine in. There was no one else there. 4 other people came for carry out and conversation while I was there. One left after waiting a bit and looking around without getting anything. When I finally asked the man/employee about ordering he had me walk to counter where he took my order and told me he'd go "cook up my food hot." They were out of one of my first choices, sweet and sour pork. I told him I'd be eating some there but probably be taking most home. He said he'd fix it all in to go containers but I could eat there. The food came with plastic fork and spoon. I had to ask for hot mustard and sauce for the egg roll. The egg roll was a bit small and fried very hard. So so to my taste. Won Ton soup was very stove hot. It was an adequate amount. It had some cabbage in it which was unusual,but not bad. 2 good size won tons, one had a scrap of meat in it. It was acceptable. You purchase soft drinks in 17 oz bottles from cooler. My main course was sweet and sour Chicken with fried rice. Chicken pieces were large with no knife to cut them. There were a few token veggies and such. The sauce came in a separate container. It was sweet but nothing really sour. A large portion! 2 scoops of nondescript "fried rice". It was hot and alright. A past it's prime fortune cookie with an unlikely fortune for an old man I have no reason to avoid it again, nor none to choose it. read more

Got the general Tao's with fried rice and egg rolls. Also ordered crab Rangoon, but that was not included in my order when I picked it up, but I didn't realize that until I was already at another appointment. General Tso's was about average compared to what I get elsewhere. I didn't find it spicy at all, but it did have a decent sweet flavor. Egg rolls were super greasy and not the greatest in flavor either. The fried rice was ok as well, but nothing special to write about. An hour after we picked up our order, I got an email from GrubHub, "your order from Twin Sunlight has been adjusted," and they were charging me $4.00 more, for nothing!! We did not modify the order or change the order at all! Luckily GrubHub customer service made this better and refunded the $4.00. However, I'll never be ordering from here again! Twin Sunlight has mixed reviews. It should. This place has been very inconsistent over the past few years. Last time it was good. The next time who knows what it will be like. I had the Tofu Mala. It's about $8 for the regular portion. This item is pretty spicy. It comes with jalapeño. Much like mala string beans, most of the flavor comes from the hot seasoning. It's pretty bad looking inside. This was our first trip to Twin Sunlight and they did not disappoint! We split an order of fried dumplings- the sauce is amazing! I got Kung Pao and my daughter got the sesame chicken. Both were excellent. They were piping hot and the sauces were really good. Everything was fresh and tasty. We found our new place! I know this place has mixed reviews but we like it. It is slightly inconsistent but for the most part we get good food here. We've only had a handful of dishes because we normally just get the pho. It's close to work so we went here often, so often that they call me the pho lady. We'd get 5-7 orders of pho at a time. We've had pho at many restaurants in Columbus and I still haven't found the perfect one ever since Lee's on the west side closed. This one is pretty good though. The broth is flavorful and not super greasy like we've had at some places. The vegetables are generally fresh. The meat portion sizes are good. You can add extra noodles for a small charge if you'd like. The thing that brings this to a four star instead of three is the service. They seem to genuinely appreciate our business. They are willing to give extra sauces when we get our order to go. They make sure everything is right before we leave. They never act like we are an inconvenience. I have been a to many different style Asian restaurant's in my life. Well this is the modern "wok" style. but it is much better than you would expect. A small family owned business that serves good food at a decent price. Been coming here since we stumbled across it back in 2015, and even when we were disappointed "because they messed up the order" they have always made it good and took care of us. So the menu has many options like most in this category. The Pho is really good I must say! So is the Kung Pao and Szechuan chicken too!! After you try this tiny, but awesome place you will soon see why it is as good as I say. The inside is small, but truthfully it is never busy enough to where you cannot find a place to sit. Now the owner does most of the cooking and order taking. He is very nice and very friendly especially once you become a regular. He takes care of his returns and gets to know them as well. Even though it is a "to go" kind of place, when you eat inside you are served with real china and flatware. Not the Styrofoam box and a plastic spork like most others in this category. You are also told to sit and your food is brought to you. If you are ever in the area and want to see better ingredients with a better taste give Twin Sunlight a try. Underrated, cozy, and conveniently located spot. Have been a few times now and it never lets me down. The owner is passionate about serving good food. I called and wanted wings today and he said he had drumsticks instead and they wouldn't let me down - and he was right. Massive, meaty, crispy fried to perfection. The 'chicken vegetable' entree is a revelation too - a perfectly balanced meal in a box of rice, chicken, and vegetables in a light, tasty sauce. Anyhow, I was wanting lunch and was on Phillipi Rd and knew there was an Asian restaurant close by. So I decided to try The Twin Sunlight. The Sunlight is small family run affair, just my kind of place. Its a mix of Asian food styles. I chose the Pork with bean sprouts, lunch size. After seeing the nest table served their Pho ( vietnamese soup ) I wished I had ordered that. O well such is life, well, my life anyway. The pork w/ bean sprouts was served fast with a side of fried rice. It was cooked perfect, the protein well cooked and the bean sprouts warm and still crunchy. They added nice slivers of onion greens to the bean sprouts and a rich soy based sauce. The fried rice was also well cooked and just sticky enough, but had a bland flavor. A little more egg and some onion would have helped the fried rice. The portion was slightly small but over all the meal was very good. I noticed the reviews of the Sunlight were either good or bad. Its strange how people can have such polar opinions of this restaurant. As for me, I'll be back, I have to try their Pho and I'll have to take Quart Quart with me on my next visit. Food was prepared "express", however the cashier used non-gloves hands to grab the egg rolls from a very large bin. God knows how long all of those had been in there. Egg roll tasted like it had been thawed out and refrozen several times. And the pork lo-mein tasted okay for the first two hot bites but then suddenly tasted like hot garbage juice. Sure enough 3 hours later I'm violently getting sick in my car. So sick I had to have someone come pick me up and drive me home. Spent the night in the bathroom. The very first time I wish I could have given 0 stars for a place. How exactly do I put into words that everything, everything, was bad? We walk in the door and stand at the counter for 5 minutes before someone tells us we can just sit down and order from the table. Another 5 minutes before the one waitress takes our order. She is probably the most unfriendly waitress I have ever had; she never even said "Hello." I order a water, only to be brought a bottled water. The drinks don't come out for 5 minutes; they actually came out with our appetizer. The crab rangoons are soft and chewy almost as if the oil wasn't hot enough. Entree's come out. We ordered 2 "Safe" items: Pad-thai and General Tso's. Both sucked. Probably the second worst Chinese food I have eaten. The topper was the check, after the waitress puts it on the table without a word I take a look. When I ordered the Crab rangoons I wasn't really sure how much they cost. Their price board had sharpie scratched on it to change prices but I think it said $2.50. The togo menu clearly said they were $3.95. They actually cost $4.50, or at least that is what she decided to charge us. The pad-thai, which was terrible, somehow cost $9.95. What doesn't make sense is that no other dish on the whole menu cost that much for a lunch portion or a dinner portion. So how does it cost that much for lunch? I don't know. All the other shrimp dishes were $7.95... Needless to say, after some of the worst service of my life and some terrible, unknowingly overpriced food, we left quickly and gave a very small tip. I would never go back, and I would recommend that you skip it even if you have a craving and it is the only place within 50 miles. read more

We decided to check this place out for the first time at lunch today and yes, this place is a little rough around the edges concerning paint job and decor. It's a small no-nonsense family owned Chinese takeout. The owners were nice and welcoming which was great. The well-dressed Pad Thai was enough for leftovers and the Beef Noodle Pho (see photo) had a really nice broth. So happy to have a Pho option in that part of town. I would have liked to have had some basil with it but I think I could have asked for some since it was mentioned in a few other menu items. Next time. I ordered the orange chicken and I rethink they gave me general to's chicken instead. The food tasted like it was heated in the microwave and thrown into a to go box. On top of everything else. I've driven by Twin Sunlight numerous times and saw it mentioned on a Facebook page of a place to check out. We ordered veggie lo mein, general tso's chicken and spicy dumplings. I love that they have an option for all white meat chicken for an extra $1, totally worth it in my opinion! The spicy dumplings came highly recommended, they were crispy and the sauce was like a slightly spicy soy. The vegetables in the lo mein were fresh. The portions were HUGE! My order was ready in 15 minutes and it was steaming hot. Prices are super reasonable around $25 before tip for everything that was 2 full meals for my boyfriend and I. They also have Thai dishes I want to try as well. Highly recommend if you're in the area! read more

I visited this place for a quick bite about 4 years ago, and I'll be honest, it was really good. I mean as good as chinese take out place can be! But I went in the other the day for lunch and it's by far the worst tasting chinese food I've had. The rice was over cooked, too much water, and too sticky. The sauce tasted like 3 day old gravy and it was just awful. I don't recommend this place at all, if you drive a mile further you can get better chinese. This place is about a mile from my house so we go there every twice in a while. Here are my learnings from eating there a dozen times over the last few years: 1. Never call in a carry out order. They ALWAYS get it wrong. 2. Always make them repeat your order back to you. They always get it wrong. 3. When they get it wrong, they blame it on you. Always. It's to the point that I think it's funny. Sometimes it works out because you end up trying something you might not have ordered before. 4. They are $1-$2 more expensive than other Chinese food joints for the same product. 5. When they get their best meals right, its delicious. Having said all that, the food is good. It's a good place once you really know what cuisine they actually serve. The owner has to make the food westernize to suit the every growing white american taste bud. If you notice the restaurant isn't your traditional Chinese place, as they also serve food from the Southeast Asian region. People need to understand how a restaurant or food place functions before writing reviews so hastily. Furthermore everyone who post reviews on here are mostly your average Caucasian Americans in which some complain about food being nasty or gross but don't understand that the flavor and taste are part of the region and cuisine. Don't call a dish nasty if you were never raised in eating it. That's like me saying I hate playing football when I never played football. Please have an open mind when you try other people's food because everyone has their own opinion, not every dish is going to please your taste buds. Food rating only would be a 5, facilities drop it to a 4 overall.They will modify any dish or make items not on the menu.
