I had a much better meal at Asian Wok than expected. It's good for being in this location. The area around it is pretty bad, but don't let that stop you. It has some cheap food and that earns it a return. The inside is pretty bad so order takeout. I ordered the sesame tofu. It was about $6 for the lunch portion. The tofu cane covered in a sticky and sweet sauce and had a nice variety of vegetables. It was a lot of food for the price. The tofu also was garnished with lots of sesame seeds, adding delicious crunch. Inside the restaurant is kind of boring and not a lot to look at. The inside was clean though so you can eat there if you really want. It's a family owned place which literally means the family is there. The owner's kids were helping at the counter. Oh, child labor, how cute. The menu has lots of healthier options so it's good in an area like it. I would say Asian Wok isn't located in a nice neighborhood, so go there early. So far this is some of the best Chinese fast food I've had. They do a lot more take out and delivery than dine in because it's a little cool out in the dining room but don't let that deter you from trying this place out, just get it to-go and all is good. I've had the sesame chicken with fried rice combo twice it comes with either and egg roll or a crab rangoon. You also have the option of getting the entree with white rice if you don't want fried. In a nutshell, I like this new restaurant as a take out place but not so much as a sit down restaurant. Let me explain. The big sell here are their lunch specials which are some of the best lunch deals in town. For only $5.50, you get a generous sized entree, rice and your choice of soup or egg roll. Sounds pretty good doesn't it? I's a great deal. This is what sells me on this place. Now this place might not be for everyone though. I'm guessing they're little tight on money being an independent start up. They didn't have their AC on so it was a bit warm, their lights were off and there was no music. Only a few of the tables have condiments. They also serve your food on paper plates, use plastic utensils, Styrofoam cups and they bring your food out on a cafeteria tray. It's really just the basics and I know that makes a difference for some people. You've got the whole picture... Anyways, I like it and the people are great. As a take out place, it's really good. For less than the price of a Big Mac and fries you can get an entire Chinese meal here, so that scores big points with me. I'm giving them 3.75 stars with a side of duck sauce. Wow!! The best vegetable fried rice we've ever had! We travel all over the country and world and this is the best. The egg rolls were great also and so was the sweet and sour chicken. The chicken is the exact same kind as most Chinese restaurants have but theirs were cooked perfectly when a lot of times it's either fried to long or old and chewy. This has been my favorite Asian restaurant around the Hilltop area for a little while now. My normal order is wonton soup, chicken fried rice with extra vegetables and an egg roll. Tonight I ordered some other items and I was pleasantly surprised. To start, their wonton soup is soo stinking good. I haven't had soup this good at any other chinese restaurant in Columbus. It actually has meat inside the wontons and the broth is very flavorful. The wontons fill up with broth and when you bite into it, it's so juicy and perfect. The chicken fried rice and egg roll are nothing special but the fact that they are always served very fresh really helps their rating. I've never had a greasy egg roll and the rice is perfectly cooked every time. The real reason I'm writing this review is because I ordered crab Rangoon for the first time tonight, and I realized holy cow I have been missing out! They serve the fattest crab rangoons I have ever seen. Legitimately might be the best I've ever had. The sweet & sour sauce tastes like it came from a jar, but that's no problem because the crab rangoons are so dang delicious. I also ordered fried dumplings this time and I was a little disappointed. Tasty and affordable carry out! Finally tried this place tonight, and it was really easy to place an order online. I only live a half mile away, so saved the delivery cost and picked it up. Technically, there is a sit down restaurant here, but after walking in to get my order I can tell that doesn't seem to be their main priority. There were a few booths and random tables/chairs, but the lighting was dim and absolutely no ambiance. That being said, don't write this place off - the food is solid and really a great value for the cost. We had szechuan shrimp with white rice, mixed veggies, veggie fried rice, and large wonton soup. No joke when I say that we had enough for at least 4-6 servings of food for 2 people, and the total was $25. I ordered the szechuan dish with medium heat, and it was the perfect level of spice. Also, the shrimp were huge, and they did not skimp! Both dishes had a good mix of veggies that were perfectly cooked, including water chestnuts, baby corn, and snow peas! The wonton soup was a little salty, but the broth was excellent and the wontons were perfect little pillows of pork. The adorable girls who cashed out my order were prob 8 and 11 years old, so suffice it to say that this is a family affair. I'm happy to have finally tried this restaurant, and they'll def be on my takeout rotation from now on. First time ordering through door dash. Food arrived with no napkins, no forks, no soy sauce, no duck sauce not even the usual two fortune cookies. Food was meh . Nothing special. White rice was very dry and bland. I had the spicy shrimp and my husband had the general Tso. Neither of us were a fan of either dish. What I will say is the egg roll was really good. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant to get to-go Chinese food. The location is not in the best place because it is located in Hilltop but that doesn't phase me from getting food here. They also do delivery and online order. The reason why I like this place the best compared to other to-gos Chinese restaurant. The prices are cheap and the quantities are huge. Also, if you order something like orange chicken you can taste and see the chicken in it. It is not covered with 90 percent breading like other places I have tried. The flavor are also good. I probably ordered half of the menu and they have not disappoint yet. I always ordered it the crab ragoons too and they are so stuffed and delicious and have actually small pieces of imitations crabs. To be honest you can't really miss it from the bright Yellow sign proudly proclaiming their new name. It sat pretty empty during our visit, which was unfortunate, because I don't really mind this place. However, there were a large influx of Delivery calls coming in. Yes, they DO deliver and after asking, we were informed that they deliver up to a 4 mile radius with a minimum of $10 purchase. That's pretty darn good. The owners here were extremely nice. I almost couldn't bear to be negative about my experience, because of how friendly they were, but the best part is that the only super negative experience of my entire visit was that I saw a hooker get picked up across the road. It was nothing on Asian Wok's part. IT's just how the West Side rolls. I tried their House Lo Mein and it was good. It's my staple, and since they were easily able to accomplish in making that delicious, then I imagine I'll be able to try some other dishes on their menu. Their egg rolls are just run of the mill and generic. Nothing really to get excited about. What this place really has going for it is the lunch special. $5.50 for a really large portion of food and plus some more food. That's really killer. A lot of places don't offer lunch specials that cheap anymore. To be honest... There really wasn't anything on their Dinner menu that trumped $13. In FACT... My husband and I both got out of there with a tab around $14... for BOTH of us. The place is old, despite the new Grand Opening. Don't get me wrong... It's clean and spacious compared to most Chinese take-out places, but it still shows it's age. Let me start my saying I use Yelp frequently but never really leave reviews. But this place deserves 10 stars. Quality, consistency, value, and taste. I cook for a living so I may be choosier than others and this place is a gem. It may look a little rough around the edges, and it is a bit divey. But for carryout and delivery it is the best. They are kind, honest and patient. Everyone on the westside should support this amazing business. This entire day had been cold and rainy so, we started looking for Asian food that delivers around the Hague Ave. area on Yelp. Came across Asian Wok with a pretty good rating and some good reviews. And instead of having to go out on a nasty evening, we were able to order online. Placed our order and it was delivered, that's right... DELIVERED to our front door within an hour. And on a Saturday night during supper hours!! The food was all packed neatly in a paper bag, inside of a plastic bag. Plenty of condiments and NOTHING had spilt out. Hot, fresh and the containers were over packed with delicious foods. (The styrofoam containers had to be stapled shut because of how much food they give you) Food had great flavor and left just enough room for you to lightly season it your way also. Out of my way, but after Mike G., Tiffany, and others tried it out I found some time to swing by. It is clearly family-run, and service was super friendly. The menu is extensive, and instead of my usual test dishes of crab Rangoon and Mongolian Beef I tried the "Dragon and Phoenix"- General Tso's with Szechuan shrimp. The chicken was above average, but pretty typical in style. Crispy, with a tangy sauce. The shrimp... with "Szechuan" I expected something spicy, maybe grilled, and I will blame it on my lack of familiarity but what arrived was not what I expected. It was mild, with very good subtle flavors. Big tasty shrimp, fresh veggies, a translucent cream sauce. Very good, just not what I pictured. The fried rice was good, not great. I will find a way to get back and try some other things out. Prices are great. I think they gave me the carryout discount even though I ate in. Utensils are pretty flimsy plastic, and drinks are in cans. If you live anywhere nearby it is well worth a visit. read more

But last night, we were looking for a Chinese place that was a bit cheaper than them, and as per the recommendations on this page, went with Asian Wok. We were not disappointed. The reviews on here are completely spot on, this is hands down the best Chinese place in the Hilltop, and I might even dare to say, best Chinese I've EVER had. We ordered Sesame chicken, chicken lo mein, fried rice, and crab rangoon, for delivery, all for under $20! The prices are stupid cheap here, and the quality of the food far surpasses the price. My only qualms were that for delivery, it took almost an hour for it to be delivered. I am not sure if that is normal or whether they were slammed or not, but next time I'll just order it to go. Otherwise, the food came hot, had huge portions (I literally ate my platter for dinner, breakfast, and lunch because there was so much!), and the delivery driver was friendly.
