Shrimp Lo Mein, General Tso's Chicken all tasty and well executed packed with flavor!
    Oli G.

Stand alone building that I kinda never realized was there because traffic in that area is congested and bad and EVERYONE IS SPEEDING. Fresh ingredients, meaty chunks of General Tso's chicken in a rich sauce. Nice and firm fried rice that is flavorful. Juicy chunks of shrimp and firm tasty noodles in the shrimp lo mein. Excellent customer service as well. We recommend and will be back!

Friendly staff. They were extremely busy when we arrived to pick up the order but they still maintained good service and the order still came out timely. We got several dishes to try. The food was tasty and everything was well packaged. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy and all were good portions.

I had a much better meal at Asian Wok than expected. It's good for being in this location. The area around it is pretty bad, but don't let that stop you. It has some cheap food and that earns it a return. The inside is pretty bad so order takeout. I ordered the sesame tofu. It was about $6 for the lunch portion. The tofu cane covered in a sticky and sweet sauce and had a nice variety of vegetables. It was a lot of food for the price. The tofu also was garnished with lots of sesame seeds, adding delicious crunch. Inside the restaurant is kind of boring and not a lot to look at. The inside was clean though so you can eat there if you really want. It's a family owned place which literally means the family is there. The owner's kids were helping at the counter. Oh, child labor, how cute. The menu has lots of healthier options so it's good in an area like it. I would say Asian Wok isn't located in a nice neighborhood, so go there early. It might be the healthiest food in this area of Columbus. This is certainly a reason to check it out.

Delicious food, quality ingredients, friendly customer service, and SO CHEAP!! Got dinner here for the first time and was happily surprised! My boyfriend and I were looking for a Chinese place close to our house, and found this in our searches; decided to give it a try! We were able to order online, which was a huge perk! We received up to date texts about the status of our order. For a total of $13.25, we got a quart of Chicken Lo Mein and 6 Crab Rangoon, carryout. The staff was very friendly and kind during checkout. The portions were more than satisfactory, the container barely closed it was so full! The taste, temperature, and quality was so good! All white-meat chicken was used, and it was tender and tasty. The veggies were fresh. The Crab Rangoon was very good too, hot and tasted just fried. We ended up getting two big dinner bowls, and having a meal for later! I'm so pleasantly surprised by this restaurant, and will definitely return! You will not be disappointed.

I FOUND CHICKEN FEATHERS IN MY FOOD!!! First time buying here and I was just starting to eat and I found two chicken feathers in my food, I could no longer eat and surely there are many more feathers, do not buy in this restaurant.

So far this is some of the best Chinese fast food I've had. They do a lot more take out and delivery than dine in because it's a little cool out in the dining room but don't let that deter you from trying this place out, just get it to-go and all is good. I've had the sesame chicken with fried rice combo twice it comes with either and egg roll or a crab rangoon. You also have the option of getting the entree with white rice if you don't want fried. I've also had the egg drop soup and the hot and sour soup both are very good. It's a family business because both daughters work the counter helping customers. I will definitely come back again and again and again

In a nutshell, I like this new restaurant as a take out place but not so much as a sit down restaurant. Let me explain. The big sell here are their lunch specials which are some of the best lunch deals in town. For only $5.50, you get a generous sized entree, rice and your choice of soup or egg roll. Sounds pretty good doesn't it? I's a great deal. This is what sells me on this place. Now this place might not be for everyone though. I'm guessing they're little tight on money being an independent start up. They didn't have their AC on so it was a bit warm, their lights were off and there was no music. Only a few of the tables have condiments. They also serve your food on paper plates, use plastic utensils, Styrofoam cups and they bring your food out on a cafeteria tray. It's really just the basics and I know that makes a difference for some people. You've got the whole picture... Anyways, I like it and the people are great. As a take out place, it's really good. For less than the price of a Big Mac and fries you can get an entire Chinese meal here, so that scores big points with me. I'm giving them 3.75 stars with a side of duck sauce. Addendum: So far I've tried the following and how I'd rate them: A- Hunan Shrimp (Fairly spicy, Plenty of Shrimp) B+ Schezuan Chicken (Fairly spicy with fresh vegetables) B+ Lo Mein (Good Flavor) B War Sue Gai (Good but no lettuce and they use a gravy, not the yellow stuff) A- Wonton Soup (Huge homemade pork filled wontons B+ Egg Drop Soup (Rich with plenty of egg) B Hot and Sour Soup (Plenty of filler in it)

Tasty and affordable carry out! Finally tried this place tonight, and it was really easy to place an order online. I only live a half mile away, so saved the delivery cost and picked it up. Technically, there is a sit down restaurant here, but after walking in to get my order I can tell that doesn't seem to be their main priority. There were a few booths and random tables/chairs, but the lighting was dim and absolutely no ambiance. That being said, don't write this place off - the food is solid and really a great value for the cost. We had szechuan shrimp with white rice, mixed veggies, veggie fried rice, and large wonton soup. No joke when I say that we had enough for at least 4-6 servings of food for 2 people, and the total was $25. I ordered the szechuan dish with medium heat, and it was the perfect level of spice. Also, the shrimp were huge, and they did not skimp! Both dishes had a good mix of veggies that were perfectly cooked, including water chestnuts, baby corn, and snow peas! The wonton soup was a little salty, but the broth was excellent and the wontons were perfect little pillows of pork. The adorable girls who cashed out my order were prob 8 and 11 years old, so suffice it to say that this is a family affair. I'm happy to have finally tried this restaurant, and they'll def be on my takeout rotation from now on. Ultimately, it's up to par with other good Chinese takeout places around Columbus, so if you live within 5 mile radius I recommend you check it out!

Best War Sue Gai around. And look Mike G....lettuce!

Love the war Sue gui! Best I've had in a long while! Picked it up so can't comment on atmosphere. Our food was ready fast and the workers were nice. Also some nice plants in here!

When I walked in the atmosphere was great, I could smell good food and heard conversations. There's a large area with large round tables to right and to the left are booths and almost all of them were full. The menu was a mix of Americanized Chinese, traditional Chinese and included Dim Sum as well. There were a number of dishes we didn't know much about and there were dishes being enjoyed by other customers that looked delicious. The wait staff was more than happy to explain the dishes and/or show us on the menu what someone was eating. They took very good care of us and shared the tasks of bringing our food, filling water, and just checking in. Now the food. The food came out very quickly! We all received a well filled bowl of rice. First out was the string beans, perfectly cooked, not droopy, and the flavors of garlic and hot peppers. Even though the peppers were there the heat was not overpowering at all. Next was the shredded pork with garlic sauce. The textures of the pork and bamboo shoots were a nice contrast and the sauce was perfectly balanced and craveable. The special grilled lamb, I was told, was some of the best in the city. It was tender and well spiced. Even when he said he was full he just couldn't stop eating it. For the dim sum order we got the shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, scallion pancake, and sesame balls and they brought a soy sauce and a chili oil with them. The shrimp dumplings were tender but the dough was pretty sticky. I think this is normal and they were tasty with some of the oil on them. The scallion pancakes were very thin and gummy, this is the only thing we ordered that I would not get again. The soup dumplings were very small but packed a lot of flavor. The dough did stick together a bit so unfortunately some of the soup did leak out. The sesame balls were the hit and we're just the right amount of sweetness that we considered them desert. They were large, at least 2" in size, with a wonderful sesame seed covered exterior and a soft, sweet center. Chuan Jiang Hao Zi is a wonderful somewhat hidden gem. If you want traditional Chinese cuisine including all the different offal they have it and I would totally try it here over anyone else if I was brave enough. Portions were a good size for the price. I highly recommend checking them out!

I had the Kung Pao Chicken & it was by far the best I'd ever eaten. So many layers of flavor & heat. (a bit spicy for me, but I struggled through & loved every bite) Will definitely be back to explore some of the more "exotic" dishes on the menu. (Wasn't feeling to adventurous this trip) The restaurant was well decorated & the staff took great care of us. We were greeted and seated quickly and service was very friendly. As we were hungry, we took a mi Ute to decide what to order. We had planned on storm fish, but made a last minute decision to Sichuan sliced beef (we loveeee a numbing pepper!) with starts of egg roll and spicy wontons. Seriously those wontons are one of the best things in the whole city. They're SO good I could eat a few orders of those alone and be happy. Egg rolls are nice, but just a simple egg roll. Nicely crispy and tasty with the spicy mustard. The Sichuan sliced beef was the perfect thing for a chilly rainy dinner. We love spicy so I'm a bad judge of heat level, but this is spicy but a numbing spicy. Lovely spooned over steamed rice. The cabbage and bean sprouts were my favorite bits in this dish because they added a crunch. Might ask for extra next time!

Plus, I figured hibachi can take awhile, and I usually don't have a long time for lunch. Today I had a little more time, and I made a point to head over. It is a bit out of the commercial sprawl at the corner. Look for the food truck, that's the first thing I saw, and it helped me find where to turn in. I wasn't sure if there would be dine in, but there is, plenty of seating inside and out. Inside there are seats at the counter, plus booths, plus I think a couple tables. Menu is pretty basic: hibachi and a few sides. I got steak and chicken, with fried rice, and you pick two vegetables so I picked cabbage and bean sprouts. You get a Yum Yum sauce, and you can add others, but I didn't need them. And the sauce container they gave me was plenty big. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender and flavorful, cooked in a nice sauce. The fried rice was great. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. And it all came out in about five minutes. They had a steady stream of carry out customers, but they still got mine on the grill, apparently as soon as I ordered it. Fast and good, and competitively priced for hibachi. A big portion, but not a huge, two days' worth of leftovers portion. But I was stuffed and couldn't finish it all. When I saw the drink cooler with just water and a few juices, I figured I'd have to go with those, but they do have fountain drinks. And they actually have a pretty good variety, cola, diet cola, cream soda, blueberry, cherry I think, and a few others. Anyway, several pleasant surprises, the food lived up to its reputation, I was in and out fast, and for not a whole lot of money in this day and age. I will be back.
