The company has refused to offer any assistance aside from offering to refer me to a repair company, at my expense. I used this service because they were tied to Pod service. I was pleased I found a reasonably priced moving company. Pod company brought one pos Friday but the second pod wasn't going to be delivered until Saturday 1 to 4. I knew it would be a problem because movers were scheduled around 11. They were punctual. Here is why I rated them the way I did. It says on Yelp they are open weekends but they did NOT answer the phone or return calls all weekend long. I was trying to reschedule movers ( which I figured would be near impossible) and I was wanting to get movers scheduled at a minimum for Monday to no avail. If they are not available the recording and Yelp should be updated. Also, it would be very nice if pod people and movers coordinated time frames. Thank you! read more

Most of are large furniture was damaged due to careless moving. 3 large chunks were taken out of the railing on our stairs and a large chip out of our dressers. My grandmas antique cabinet was damaged because they didn't cover it and must have stacked stuff on top of it in the moving truck. I didn't notice till we unwrapped the plastic or I would have said something to the movers at the time. The box trunk they use is small so they were only able to move some of our house in 6 hours, we had to move the rest ourselves. I will not use these movers again. Worst experience. read more

We scheduled tuxedo moving to help us unload our 16foot PODS container. the place we're moving into called last min to tell us they had To move our date 8 days out due to permits not being approved. When I called to reschedule the lady on the phone who's name I did not get was incredibly rude and made me feel like I was an inconvenience. she gave me a date and time I was going to try to make work and I couldnt make it work so I called to cancel so I could find another moving company with other availability and she immediately got mad and threatened to charge My card a cancellation fee and when asked where I could find where they disclose a cancellation fee is required she said "look it up yourself" and hung up on me. the absolute worst customer service I will never recommend this company to anyone. read more

I wish I would of had all my stuff better prepared because the move could have been seamless, but alas, I am a procrastinator and was NOT ready--but Ian and Jared were! I had some doubts about the size of my pod and it's ability to house all of my things. Ian came in, Introduced himself and was very optimistic. His co-worker, Jared polite as well and with the same optimism, assured me they would start moving all the items and fit as much as they could in. Boy, they weren't kidding! I recently had this company load a couple of PODS for me. Nice crew and all, but when I opened the PODS after re-delivery, symptoms of poor loading were clear. My mattress was the last item loaded and it blocked visibility of the items that were loosely placed on top of other uncovered furniture. The result was wear marks and scratches where the loose items rubbed during transport. Secondly, the main couch of a sectional was damaged either at loading or during transit. While unloading I noticed (and photographed while still in the POD) a wooden support jutting through the bottom fabric of the sofa. I don't know when this occurred, but I do know it was nearly brand new and undamaged before the move. I contacted Tuxedo Movers about a claim on the couch (I did not claim damage on other items that were worn due to poor loading). They came out and attempted to repair, but quickly realized that it was beyond repair and that a supervisor would have to determine next steps. After several weeks of no contact, I contacted the company and was told they would not be proceeding any further with my claim because they did not unload the POD. I discussed the general condition of the packing and how I had photos of it before unloading. However, rather than assume responsibility, they made me feel that it was my fault since they did not unload. Final outcome: I'm stuck with a nearly new, unusable sectional because Tuxedo refused to file an insurance claim. I appreciate their efforts to repair the couch, but why stop there when repair was not possible? Their efforts to repair show that they had good intentions, but when it came down to following through, they left me holding the bag. Overall I'd give their crew 3 stars. They were courteous and worked hard, but their loading was sub par. I'd give their fees 4 stars, as they were very reasonable. I'd give their follow up services one star due to the experience I explained above. I don't write many bad reviews, but when a company basically accuses me of lying because it "could not have been the fault of their guys," I felt obligated. If you do choose to go with Tuxedo, make sure you have them unload, as well, to avoid the blame game. read more

Tuxedo Moving did a fantastic job. I choose them for my local move because of a Pods referral, and they really did amazing work. We had a lot of stuff for our Pod to handle and they used every single inch. There was one piece that was damaged and they quickly worked to fix the item, you would have to look closely to see it. We did have to pay extra because we added a uhaul to our move (we really have a lot of stuff!) but it was completely worth it. Ian was fantastic to work with, and took pride in his work, which really showed. It really does take skill to get your life to fit in a box! We would hire tuxedo again to help us with any minor or major move! read more

My 71 year old father scheduled them to help him move to his retirement home a month and a half in advance. The purchase of the home fell through unfortunately. There was no confirmation paperwork done by Tuxedo and my dad called to cancel the moving service 2 WEEKS prior to the move date. Tuxedo Moving said they were still going to charge my dad $50 for canceling the appointment, but never previously told him that, this info was never sent to him in a contract, nor is it listed on the website of Tuxedo Moving (there is NOT a cohesive list of prices, nor Terms and Conditions). My dad is currently contesting the charges as they were charged to his credit card right after calling the Tuxedo to inform them of the cancelation, so they had time to book other appointments. If they want to charge those fees, put them in WRITING, send an email at the very least and have integrity. Do not take advantage of elderly people that are trying to do the right thing and having a hard time with trying to move. I would not be writing a review like this if he was informed or sent paperwork. Terrible company and ethics. SHAME ON YOU! read more

Started off nice then turned bad! Nick and Izzy came to unload PODS container at 8:20am. Nick unloaded container by himself while Izzy dollied furniture alone. Nick was in such a hurry pulling items from container without any care whatsoever. I instructed Nick to be careful pulling my items from container because things shift and it was packed. He said he does this every day 4 containers a day. I unloaded 1/4 of container for them. He said he can help me put together two beds and two TVs. Not letting me know at an extra cost. Moving can be stressful. Let's be honest, it's sucks! We had a local move across town and unfortunately the house we sold closed a week before the home we purchased. We decided to use a POD so we only had to load and unload once. Through POD, we received the referral for Tuxedo Moving. We were scheduled for a 7:00 am start time and the doorbell rang right at 7. Ian and Jared came in and did a quick survey of our 3 bedroom home. We were a bit nervous because when the 16 foot POD was dropped off we knew there was no way we could fit the whole house in such a small space. Ian and Jared got right to work. They were polite, professional and quick. We were told it would take 3-4 hours but we're presently surprised when it only took about 2 hours. The best part, everything fit! We were shocked. The Tetris Masters worked their magic and maximized every square inch! Thanks Ian and Jared. You made our move much less stressful! read more

Was 1 of three companies that Pods recommended, they made an awful decision. Texedo moving broke several peices of furniture which there movers said they would pay to fix and never heard from them. Later I followed up with the company to find out when they were sending someone out to repair the broken furniture. A representative of the company said the owner was taking the position of not doing anything because he felt he didn't charge us enough for moving the furniture. The irony is we were just doing a remodel and Tuxedo moving just had to move all our furniture from our home to the three Pods that were located in the driveway. We moved the same furniture 10 years earlier all the way from Germany with no damage. Tuxedo moving company by far is the worst I have ever used. Mover beware. read more

I didn't actually order services from this company but my apartment neighbor did and it was HORRENDOUS. They showed up at 5:30 am talking extremely loudly and WITHOUT masks while walking by other residents and in and out of buildings. They parked directly behind my car so it was difficult for me to pull out and then they re-parked in a handicapped spot. We proceeded to overhear them mention "oh did that break? Oh well" and continue to move around WITHOUT masks and talk extremely loudly for 6 am. I will never hire this company. read more

The two guys loading my stuff turned all of my lamp boxes upside down when they loaded them, thus breaking all of my lamps and pedestals that were also inside the lamp boxes. They also broke off the antenna to my TV. I didn't have a lot of valuable things except for the lamps and now they have no value. I am so depressed and with no recourse. Unfortunately, we are pretty much at the mercy of movers and some have absolutely no common sense. They moved my stuff into a POD on 3/20/20 that was shipped across country and unloaded on 6/4/20. I would never recommend them unless you watch them constantly to make sure they don't throw your boxes around or turn them upside down. The whole point of a lamp box is to protect and keep you lamps right-side up. I haven't finished unpacking and I'm dreading to see what else they damaged. read more

Mark and Sage came and loaded my 16 foot pod and covered every piece of furniture....they were fast and efficient and so polite with some fun mixed in! Andrew and Jakori came fast and did were also polite! Loved this company! I would have brought them all with me to Michigan to unload! They were wonderful! UPDATE: I was just threatened by the company that they would take legal action against me if I left an "inaccurate" review. Nothing I have said is inaccurate. This is the most shady company I have ever dealt with and they need to be reported. I don't generally leave reviews unless I've had a significantly good or bad experience. Unfortunately in this case, my experience was horrific from start to end. In the beginning I had to reschedule because I was not ready for the move. Yes it is irritating but things happen. When I informed the moving concierge Charlene, I was met with blatant annoyance and was told there was no one available until weeks out. When the movers arrived they informed me this was not the case and they rescheduled me themselves which was the only positive experience I had with them. The movers lifted heavy furniture by themselves and used my walls for balance despite my verbalized concerns of the furniture being dropped. Furniture was dropped on more than one occasion including down the stairs. There were scuff marks and dents on my walls because of this. When attempting to check on my belongings in the pod, there was something up against the door and I was unable to lift the door. Eventually that will have to be forced open and most likely whatever is there will be damaged as well. I paid extra to have my belongings prepped and I was blatantly ignored when I asked to have this done properly. I arrived home to find my mattress cover on the floor even though I asked for it to be used. The movers tried packing my TV without even placing it in the box and without attempting to wrap it with anything. I had asked them to let me wrap the TV myself with bubble wrap and they attempted to move it despite my request stating "we know what we are doing". I had to literally follow them out and ask them to stop so I could wrap it and put it in a box. Only parts of my furniture was packed and some left behind leaving me no option to sell what we couldn't fit because I only have portions of furniture left. The cribs are left but hardware gone so can't sell those. After driving my kids across country and taking a flight back, I finally had time to address the situation and was again met with attitude by Charlene. She started off by saying, "you were not ready when we first came out" (which had absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand). She also told me I had 10 days to report it and this was day 11. I was then told my concerns are invalid because I signed a waiver. I was rushed when signing that waiver and nothing was explained to me as to what I was signing..it looked like I was just signing the bill. I was just uncomfortable and wanted them out of my house. I trusted that because the movers were aware of damage caused, they would not attempt to have me sign something stating damage was not caused. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was avoided for 2 days being told she was in a meeting and would email me despite my request to speak with her. Instead of attempting to rectify the issue, I was repeatedly reminded I signed a waiver. There were no attempts at resolving what had happened. This company is absolutely awful. They lack simple customer service skills and professionalism. I highly suggest using another company. read more

I cannot recommend Tuxedo Moving enough. I've used them three times this summer and each time the crew was AMAZING! Charlene in the office was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. My first experience with Tuxedo Moving was to unload my 3 PODS and a small moving truck following my long distance move from the Seattle area. Keith and his two guys (sorry, I forgot their names) got everything moved into my brother's warehouse efficiently and were beyond fast. A couple of months later Ian and Tommy moved everything from the warehouse to my new rental using Tuxedo's newly acquired box truck. Ian and Tommy played Tetris with their truck and my treasures so that only 3 trips were required. Finally, ten days later Ian and Tommy moved everything but the baby grand (always use professional piano movers to move pianos) from my daughter's house to our new home. Again, Ian and Tommy were fast, efficient and accommodating. Ian, Tommy, Keith and his crew were all friendly, easy to work with and respectful of our belongings. Tuxedo has their own box truck and furniture pads for local moves so you don't have to add that to your list of things to arrange. read more

I was recommended Tuxedo Moving through PODS, and ended up scheduling with them to assist with my move. They call me the DAY OF my move and tell me that they have to cancel. So now I have a POD dropped for only 48 hours and no help/equipment to assist with loading it. Note, I scheduled with Tuxedo Moving well in advance of the moving day. Tuxedo moving did an excellent job. We had two movers come by, they were both so polite and worked very quickly and efficiently. I have moved multiple times and this is hands down the best experience I have had with movers. We hired Tuxedo to load our POD for a cross country move and I wish more than anything that they were based out of our new location so that we could hire them to unload it as well. They are not your typical two men for two hours, it was a flat rate and they took as long as they needed. That being said, it was not more than two hours. Three occasions this year, they have chugged, lifted, squeezed and put us into new places. As many, got their name from PODS. Very pleased. J.J. has been extremely helpful. We had a little damage to an old armoire, yet, I didn't report and maybe that was nature's way of saying -- "Honey, you need a new one." Not sure which stage it occurred. They did a superb job of clear-wrapping everything and anything. Do not under any circumstance use this company. These movers damaged a $600 desk then hid it from my by wrapping the desk pieces in a moving blanket and shrink wrap. Then they say that I signed a waiver which of course I signed because I did not see the damage that their agents had caused. Not good. Their moving people broke our adjustable base bed. When I called to make a claim, they said that if I didn't see them do it, then they were not responsible. She stated that this could have happened in transit (it absolutely could not have since the person had to have jerked the head of the bed up to cause the damage). I asked to file a claim with their insurance company and she accused me of twisting her words, then said that we were done and hung up on me. I would not recommend that you use this company as they don't provide any options when something is broken. They confirmed booking multiple times, gave me constant updates for their arrival time including a link with a map that showed the van's progress to my house. They were courteous, intelligent, nimble, careful, polite, fast, and incredibly economical with space and order of operations. I was blown away. I wanted to take out a camera and document the experience for friends and family. I have moved 20 times in 40 years and I have never experienced anything like this. I liked their service so much I want to move again...oh, and the best part? They are much cheaper than all of their competition. Their teamwork, expertise, and focus on the task at hand resulted in a fast and efficient move that was complete by 8:30am. Received a option to have the POD unloaded and spoke with CSR who scheduled and set up with PODS - after it was delivered. They showed up right after. Tuxedo unloaded whole POD in 1-2 hours. Took 2 days to fill it and they set the stuff up where it goes in the house. Great, Great nice guys with funny personalities and they were very impressive. Nothing broken, nothing wrong and allot of stuff. 16 foot POD and I was stop 5 today. I am now sitting here without my back hurting and have all of Friday and Saturday to relax. I assumed I would be exhausted and now realize how really awesome and trustworthy this group is! Fine Detail: They cleaned up the garbage and disposed of it. They swept POD and they came by to shake hands and left. Absolutely class act and it was done in like 2 hours. It was awful loading it in Chicago and still shocked its done. I hired Tuxedo Moving for today (01/12/2023) in Phoenix, AZ to load my POD. The minute the guy walk up to the house he started saying that because I received such a good price with the $100 off and at the $265 I am paying I could have additional labor with additional cost of course. They remarked I had done so much because I had everything packed, bubble wrapped, taken apart, etc. I have a china cabinet which I moved to AZ in a POD packed with items and he told me it had to be empty. I said well lets just put linens and pillows in it and he said he was not allowed to do that so I said well I'll do it. He said I was not allowed in the POD while he was in there so I said well can you step out 5 minutes while I do it and he said no. I said that is wasted space and even PODS recommends you load every item with something to save space. I asked if he could put the cabinet at the end of the POD so I could do it after he left and he said no. He got mad, called his supervisor who said the same things and then they left and would not load which left me in a bind as I am on a tight deadline to be out of my house. I give these folks a negative -10 stars for their unwillingness to work with me. I could not believe it!!!!! I booked them well in advance and they never said anything about any of this. read more

Everything went smoothly, Mark & Jason did a fantastic job of getting everything & more in the container and I was so happy with their efforts I gladly tipped them $60 and 3 large boxes of kitchen & household items that I'd planned to donate to a charity. However, when I unloaded the POD this weekend, I discovered that the 3 large heavy duty blankets which my friend had given me were missing! There were not 6 blankets used in the container as I'd been told, only 3! Rather then using the thicker, larger ones the guys took them & charged me for 3 lesser quality ones! Wouldn't have been such a big deal if I hadn't been so generous but I feel taken advantage of & cheated! And I need to incur costs to replace the ones I was loaned! We paid extra for the prep work because we had a table, couch and a chair we wanted to make sure were well protected. I had ample moving blankets and plastic wrap. Needless to say, the table was disassembled, but not protected at all. It's ruined. When I emailed on 4/7 asking for a resolution or at least a refund of the additional amount spent, no response. It's now 4/25 so hopefully with a review they will reach out to discuss my concerns. I see there was a mask comment. We had to provide masks for the crew. Very disappointed with Tuxedo Moving! They packed our belongings and moved them into PODS. They lost the hardware to our bed, so they could not assemble it at our new home. I witnessed them just throwing items in boxes and it became painfully clear how disorganized they are when we unpacked yesterday. Items were just thrown in boxes and boxes were not properly taped, resulting in multiple items falling out of boxes and breaking. Two items of furniture (that we've noticed to far) are damaged. When we stated that we were unhappy and needed the company to right their wrongs, we were told that the authorities were going to be called ON US if we didn't pay immediately. From initial phone call to set the appointment, to confirmation, to the arrival on time, and to the quote being exactly what we paid (which was EXTREMELY reasonable) for a local move and delivering items to two different locations, this was the best moving experience we have had. Ian and Jared were very careful of all items, packed everything properly and unpacked and placed items, and were personally absolutely a pleasure to spend the morning with. I hired Tuxedo Moving to pack my POD on 6/22/22. While unpacking it (8/16/22), I found that my media console was stacked perpendicularly on top of my living room table. After taking the media console down, a large hole was noted in the living room table. They could have stacked it parallel for a better weight distribution or just laid it down since there was an abundance of empty space in the POS. But they didn't. This is negligence - which they said is ok since negligence was something I ok'd in the waiver. They claim the damage is due to shifting items but everything was in its proper place when the POD was opened and no other high value, easily breakable items (tv, mirrors, glass bar cart) had damage likely because they didn't have a heavy furniture item placed on it inappropriately. Also, as POD packers they should pack in such a way where shifting isn't an issue since most PODS will be moved. There hasn't been a simple apology or morsel of empathy. I'm unsure why PODS recommends them but you'd be better off trying another company. read more
