Was walking around seaport with my friend. We happened to walk by this place and decided to give it a try and eat something quick. The place is gorgeous and very beautifully decorated with an open kitchen and wood fire oven for making their fresh bread. It was definitely fancier than we expected. I got the roasted mushroom ravioli and she got the sage brown butter sweet potato and parmigiana truffle fries. The food was great and portions were also not lacking. The sauce that went with the ravioli was a bit too sweet for my liking though. The fresh bread was okay. I've had better bread from other Italian restaurants before. read more

I only had appetizers, but they were all fantastic, and the ambiance of the the 2nd floor bar area was very conducive to our merry gathering of friends. The shrimp scampi was adorned with sweet tomatoes, the calamari had a sauce that accompanied it, and a flavorful kick accompanied the sauce. And the crab cake was divine. I come to Boston probably once a year for a few days each visit. I have to say, this was by far the best place in Boston that I've been to. We stopped by on a cold Saturday night after taking a short walk outside. We were added to the waitlist and seated within 15 minutes (table of 5). Our server was very attentive. We got a lovely bottle of wine with some fried calamari to start. I ordered the tortelli al brasato and let me tell you, it's a MUST TRY! Other members at the table ordered the ravioli al quattro formaggi, pollo arrosto, polipo and frutti di mare. Everything was great! Huge plus is the entrees arrived so swiftly! We also ordered dessert; tiramisù, panna cotta and torta calda al cioccolato. It was all lovelyyyy. Plus the ambiance is great. Everything is past expectations here! read more

Dined here on Fri, Feb 7 for my birthday with 8 people and could not have asked for a better experience. The live jazz duo created such classy ambiance and the food was incredible. After having their house made burrata, nothing will ever compare!! Our group sampled a bunch of apps including the oysters, calamari, pizette, and burrata. The oysters stood out in both flavor and presentation (dry ice made for a beautiful flair). Drinks were tasty and paired well with our apps. For entrees I had the scallops and saffron lobster risotto. Scallops were perfectly cooked and the risotto had beautiful flavor. Since I had listed the occasion as my birthday, both the GM and Floor manager stopped by to check in on our table. They seemed genuinely happy to speak with us and it made the whole experience more special. They also finished off with a surprise birthday cannoli. I went to Tuscan Kitchen on a business trip, based on the reviews. For quick service since I was dining alone, I sat at the bar. The man behind the bar would not acknowledge me even after I sat there for 15 minutes. Finally a woman showed up to help. Although she was busy making drinks for a large group for Happy Hour, she finally took my order. The drink and oysters were served within about 10 minutes. My dinner, however, took 55 minutes to arrive. I almost left cash to cover my bill and left for another local fish place, when my dinner finally appeared. As I finished while talking with my family, I mentioned that in 1 hour and 25 minutes, the bartender never acknowledged my presence. He was eavesdropping on my call and finally said something sarcastic to me. I finally paid and left. I wish I spent my time and money somewhere other than Tuscan Kitchen. So many excellent places are nearby & I travel to Boston for work about every 1-2 months. read more

Buon Giornio Italia! That is how I felt after eating at the Tuscan Kitchen. We had just finished swearing in our Father in Law as a new US Citizen and we wanted to celebrate the occasion. It was very cold outside and trying to find a good place to eat, until we smelled an amazing bacon, garlic and other combinations of aromas coming out of the Tuscan Kitchen, so we jumped in! We need to start with the drinks, which as you can see from the picture, were beautifully served with great combinations, colors and decor. We loved the Aperol Spritz with Orange Juice, which the bartender made for my father in law, who loves a screwdriver, but wanted to taste a twist to it and he loved it. My wife's Sangria was great as well and with plenty of wine, which you can see in the color. We have been at other places, where the mix is more juice than wine, so she was happy that hers was blended the right way. Having said all of this, my main dish, the pasta bolognese was absolutely amazing and out of this world. I had this plate in Siena, Italy, which is at the center of the Tuscany region. That restaurant had help the spot for the top bolognese I have had, but this one topped that one and one that I will never forget. The picture just shows the amazing colors coming out of the sauce, dark reds, plenty of spices and fresh ingredients that you could taste throughout. It was clear that the person cooking or managing this recipe knows their stuff and our bartender told us that he was Italian and hailed from the area. I must confess that I came to the Tuscan Kitchen with my reservations, given that the Seaport is trendy and this is an Italian Restaurant chain. They have many locations in Boston, Burlington, etc. but this place did not disappoint and I am looking forward to coming for dinner, as we were there mostly for drinks and lunch and were surprised by this place! To start we ordered the arugula salad, artichoke and charcuterie board. All items tasted good, would rate 4 stars! 5 stars for the mushroom ravioli dish - the flavoring in the marsala and filling was delicious. The ravioli itself was fresh made pasta, and al dente. We made reservations and had to wait 1 hour after our reservation time for a table after being told our table were being prepared multiple times. Hostess was very dismissive and rude. She finally set up a table and disappeared for 20 minutes just to finally reappear and seat us at the table that had been cleared. The staff were not apologetic and just claimed they were busy. We had to request missing plates and sides multiple times once seated. There was no care for customers and the food is quite expensive without much quality or taste for the price. Awful-we were given water when we sat down then never got a top off. Bread came out but oil mixture didn't come out for another 5 mins. Lobster roll was small and soggy. One person's fries were perfect while the ones with the lobster roll were half cooked. Table was awful-wife was put at the end of the table in a main walkway so she was constantly bumped into by other customers. We had to chase down the bill and when we got it, was for the wrong table. I ended up ordering the Pollo Arrosto. Aka the chicken.... I'm simply person but I do love new flavors mixed in for dishes.. It def was more of a fall/ winter flavor dish. Pollo Arrosto is roasted half of chicken from feather brook farm. Served with spinach and butternut squash with walnuts and pancetta. Very nice atmosphere. I ordered the Halibut. It came out so under done that I thought I missed something and pulled up the menu again. Was it supposed to Medium Rare like Ahi is served? No. So, I showed it to the waitress, and it was prepared again. It came out perfect the second time. The manager stopped to check on us. I'm not a huge complainer, and I don't stand on the table when expectations are not met and demand to be compensated. Maybe I should. Because the dinner is not inexpensive, and when something like this happens, most places will refill your drink or offer a dessert as a way of saying I'm sorry. A 2nd glass of wine on the house probably costs them $6-10 to be honest and goes a long way. That didn't happen here. Disappointing. read more

Wow, I'm glad I didn't check the reviews before I came in. Might not be a five star joint but definitely not 3.5. The meal was great - my pasta was well-cooked and delicious, and the service from Daniel the bartender was unobtrusive, courteous, and prompt. I'm disappointed about a few small things - no outdoor seating, my Caesar salad was drenched in dressing, and the tails on the prawns were raw looking, but these are all small complaints. I'm glad they opened up this pop up outdoor space. We ate at the space next to Cisco brewery at the end of the block from the actual restaurant. I don't believe that have reservations for the outdoor space, at least we couldn't find it anywhere, but the wait was only about 30 minutes. They have a lot of space so getting seated was rather quick. We were seated under a large tent that was decorated quite well, the ambiance was very nice. Because we were outside at around 7 in the seaport, it did get quite windy toward the end of our meal, but that's not their fault. The food was quite expensive for everything except the flatbread like pizza which we ordered. I got the fichi and it was delicious even if it was a little small. The fig went extremely well with the prosciutto and herbs on it. Each bite was a good mix of flavors. The pizza was also very fresh and cooked perfectly. They had at least one pizza oven set out in the outdoor area that cranked out bread and pizzas nice and fresh. The complimentary bread and olive oil and vinegar were delicious as well. The bread had some onions and other flavors cooked into it and was a good snack. My two friends were quite pleased with their polpetto and margherita pizzas as well. All the drinks were good as well. Not too strong but refreshing. I got the bees knees and it was not too sweet like I was afraid. It was a good blend of citrus and gin with the honey taking a bit of the bite of gin out of it. The service was a little bit slow and lacking for us. Two tables next to us got a lot of attention but we were a bit forgotten it seemed, but with such a large space it's sort of understandable. The slight service mishap and size of pizza makes it 4.5 for me but I'm going to round down. Overall, I would definitely still come here again as long as it is still warm out. I will be sticking to the pizzas though and not the 30+$ other entrees. read more

Upon entry there is a bar on the ground level and an elevator and stairs for use to get to the restaurant located above. The server was very attentive until the end, we asked for the check to be split amongst our group and it was not. The food was very good though. We tried the caprese salad and shrimp cocktail as starters, the shrimp are huge and the mozzarella in the salad tasted very fresh. The short rib and lobster carbonara were also delicious. Overall the food was a little pricey but it's nice to spoil yourselves once in a while. Would come again if I'm in Boston. read more

We decided to have an early dinner on Marathon Day at the Seaport location of Tuscan Kitchen. The food was mediocre. We were particularly surprised when the bill showed that they charged us $18 for tap water in a bottle, with a refill that they cunningly encouraged us to take. Not surprisingly, the waiter did not tell us the price of bottled tap water ahead of time when they asked us "still water or sparkling water?" While the so-called "still water" was obviously filled with tap water. We find the deceptive way of squeezing money from consumers' pockets unbefitting of a reputable restaurant. This behavior is very low class and people should be alarmed. read more

The food is excellent. Partway through our meal they turned up the music and we had thumping techno music that completely destroyed our experience. Even after multiple customers complained, they refused to turn it down. If you want a relaxing atmosphere with your expensive meal, this is not the place for you. I'm updating this review due to our amazing waiter Thomas who took our concerns seriously and immediately went to speak with the actual manager who immediately turned the music off in the restaurant.
