Happened upon this place after being disappointment with a reservation at another restaurant. We left the other restaurant hungry and wanting good food and good service somewhere else. Tuscan Kitchen did not disappoint one bit! The service was excellent. Ambiance 10/10. Food? Excellent and so flavorful. The lobster gnocchi was perfectly cooked and they even split our main dish for us since we were sharing our main course. Love when they do that without asking. They understood the assignment. What a beautiful restaurant once you're inside on the second floor. From outside, it looks like a small place with a bar. Upstairs, you feel like you're in a different state. Love the decor with neutral colors and big, bright windows. Our server was chipper and friendly but the service was inconsistent. One minute she's attentive and the next, she's completely gone. Drinks were very good here especially the espresso martini. I did the table side cheese wheel pasta with truffle and added a protein for $73. Ooof...but the cheese sauce was good! Wasn't too salty. Someone ordered the duck rigatoni...huge rigatoni and the flavor was quite gamey, if you like that. Someone else ordered the meatball sandwich and it looked like a messy calzone. But! I came to Tuscan Kitchen for an event and had a great time... but I'm almost always going to say that about a buffet. They had a bunch of stations set up, including charcuterie, salads, pizzas, and pastas. I was more into the cured meats than the cooked foods, so that probably speaks to the quality of their cooked dishes. Overall, I enjoyed the food, but knowing the prices, I don't think I'd actually come to dine here otherwise. The vibes at the restaurant itself were pretty nice and they did a great job setting it up for the event. I'm imaging this place gets a lot of corporate foot traffic, so keep that in mind. read more

Had a wonderful meal here with my parents! We came on a Wednesday night and it was pretty empty so service was very attentive. Started at the bar where we got a ton of fresh and tasty $1 oysters. For dinner we really enjoyed the focaccia and I got a delicious salad. For my entree I got the frutti di mare which was extremely flavorful. There was plenty of seafood which was fresh. Pasta was cooked very well and we enjoyed leftovers later that week. Everyone was very pleased with their meal and our waiter was wonderful. read more

I visited Tuscan Kitchen on 8/14 with some friends. We were a party of 5 and had very simple orders. No drinks, no appetizers. Once the check was brought out, we realized it had not been separated and asked if it was possible to have separate bills. Our waiter, Edison, immediately changed his mood. He angrily told us it was not possible but we could write the amount to charge to each card on the back of the bill if it was that important. We agreed and thanked him, and he left briefly while we began to separate the amounts. He came back quickly and demanded our cards and the amounts. When we told him we were still writing it down, he became more irate and took two of the cards, then demanded to know the amount from me first. He was behind my chair, leaning over me and yelling into my face demanding the amount. When I tried to grab the bill to read off the amount for my card, he continuously stopped me and demanded to know the amount. This was absolutely unacceptable. He continued to act irate the remainder of our visit, (far before closing) and once he returned the final card he said nothing and never came back. Our dinner had been boxed for us, but the dessert box was left on the table once his mood changed. Looking back, we should have asked for a manager right then and there, but we wanted to leave. Additionally, the restaurant added an auto gratuity to the bill. While I'm a huge advocate for tipping and have never not added a tip, I would not have chosen to in this instance. Overall, this was a horrible experience. I've never been treated this way at a restaurant in my life and would not return to a Tuscan Kitchen location. Unacceptable. read more

Went there for the first time in the boston location. Location is beautiful the drinks were great but the food was not good. We had a party of four. We ordered the knocki lobster dish the pasta was soggy and it was in a salty butter sauce We ordered a motzarella tomato salad the cheese was dry and rubbery and the tomatoes were soggy. We just could not finish our meals. They took off the salads and later on two people in our party were sick from the food. I was very displeased I would not go back to this location until they can fix these issues we spoke to renaldo the manager. We were cordial and left good tip to the server Anna who did everything she could do. Joe the Gm could care less.we also spent a hundred dollars at the bar before dinner and tipped well. I came to Tuscan Kitchen with a larger group (8). We had a normal seating reservation, but due to a mix-up with names, were sat at a high-top, and then we moved to a normal table, within the bar area. There is another side of the restaurant that seemed more formal and definitely less bar vibes. The food was good, but not worth the price, in my opinion. I paid about $15 to add shrimp to my salad, and they gave me 2 shrimp. Yes, they were large shrimp, but I just felt like 2 was quite few for something where that's my only protein on the plate. Everything felt like it was good, but very standard, nothing innovative. Service was good but not outstanding. They forgot someone's drink, and then forgot someone else's second-round drink. Desserts took a long time to come out. There was a DJ playing in the bar area. As a young person who has recently been to the club, allow me to assure that he was playing at club-level volumes. We asked multiple times if the volume could be turned down. We were told "it's 8:30 on a Friday, the music has to be loud." At some point a manager came to check on our table and asked if there was anything we needed. We said no, but please, we can't hear anything, could we get the volume down. He said "it's 9pm on a Friday, it's actually about to get louder." By 9:30 we were one of the few tables left, besides folks at the bar. Then, someone sends the DJ over to our table, who then confronts us and says he heard we didn't like his music (which is not what we said, he was mixing great tracks). This is a tale of two visits. The first one happened recently which is what the the rating & main review reflects. The second one was sometime last year which is painfully depicted in my rant in the end. Went for a business dinner. Ambience is great: extremely spacious in both vertical & horizontal dimensions (probably one of the most spacious restaurants in the area -- brethren haven't cut corners in renting space). Interiors feel polished and sophisticated. Service is on point. Our server was extremely courteous, prompt and kind. Food felt average. The bread & oil are great -- nice warm focaccia with garlic infused oil felt great as the first morsel on a cold, wintry Boston evening. Bread was either freshly baked or freshly warmed, but was delicious. The Halibut left a lot to be desired for -- I think it was frozen (apologies to the restaurant if I got that wrong, but the fish definitely did not feel fresh). Texture was tougher and stringy. The greens on the top felt 'clotted' and overdone -- didn't have the right, erm, mouthfeel (and I am acutely aware of how pretentious I sound using 'mouthfeel'). Not inedible, but for $44 a plate, I have higher expectations. Ordered the 'warm chocolate cake' for dessert whose description felt misleading. Warm cake to me is a regular, dense cake with a higher temperature (preferably because of being freshly warmed, if not freshly baked). What I received was one of those molten-center lava cakes. Some people might like that but to me, even the best of those, taste like half-done brownies. Most restaurants describe this dessert differently (more accurately). Overall, not a bad place to sit and enjoy the rich ambience & service, but food-wise it's just about OK. The tragi-comedy of my previous visit: went for their $2 oysters. My friend ordered a drink that showed $10 on the menu. Just to act fancy, he asked if they could make it with 'Agave gin' (or something stupid like that). The server nodded, and I did notice a strange look in her eyes (a combination of amusement & schadenfreude). The drink was served. We picked up the bill rejoicing the 24 oysters we had pounded for bargain prices, and noticed that they charged us $46 for that drink. Evidently, 'agave gin' (or whatever that ambrosia was called) is extremely expensive. Can we blame the restaurant for it? Opinions might wary, but a gentle heads-up from the server would have helped. My bitter self couldn't help but feel that they didn't do it as our bargain-hunter bill was pretty low otherwise. read more

This was our second time here around the same time last year with all the Christmas festivities going on in Boston at the Snowport. We had reservations for 7:00 and upon arrival it was decorated so beautifully ! We sat and were waited upon by an incredible server, Diego, who happened to be one of the best servers we have had and we go out to dine fairly often. His presentation, courteous manners and overall demeanor made this such an amazing experience. All of the staff seemed so attentive to the guests. The food started with such delicious bread that they make there with both garlic oil and creamy whipped butter. It was actually the highlight of our meal although the entrees we got were excellent too. I would go here just for the bread ! The cocktails were delicious and we enjoyed everything served. Don't hesitate to try this place if you haven't already. This is definitely one we will be coming back to again and again. My husband and I met his Uncle here for Dinner. The location is very convenient and looks beautiful! I like that there is an "outdoor" version and then you walk up the stairs to their bar/lounge or restaurant area. The atmosphere was very romantic with floor to ceiling windows. We sat in a circular booth. It was comfy, but veryyy tight (as I am a plus size person). We ordered our drinks (I had the Mai Tai), and then we ordered the Polpettoni, Calamari Fritti, and Burrata. All three were absolutely delicious! The calamari came as either actual fried mini octopus, or the rings (which is what I prefer). My husband who normally doesn't eat burrata loved it here. We also split a Caesar salad which was absolutely delicious and had lotsss of parmesan cheese, yum! It even came with crunchy focaccia bread! Our waiter was very helpful and accommodating. We ordered a bottle of wine, the Chianti Classico RSV. Normally I am not a major wine fan, and this was a dry red (which made me nervous) but it was actually very good!!! For Dinner, I ordered the Bolognese pasta which was absolutely DIVINE. So delicious. My husband ordered the Salmone and his Uncle ordered the tableside truffle tagliatelle (which was super cool to see!!!) A chef came to our table, lit the parmesan cheese wheel on fire, melted the cheese for the pasta, and then prepared the pasta right in front of us! As for dessert, we had the pistachio gelato, the chocolate cake, and the chocolate almond cake. All sooo heavenly! Came here twice now. The vibes are great and different depending on where they seat you. They have a pretty strong menu with lots of good options. First time I came here it was just for drinks and some apps. The crudo options are good. They also sat us somewhere cozy upon request. Second time I got the short rib plate which was huggeeee. It was delicious, only small complaint is the meat was a bit dry, but the entire plate had a lot of gravy to dip it in. Reason for dropping a star is the service. Service is huge for me and our waiter just wasn't attentive. I even made eye contact and she told me she'd be right there and didn't show until 10 minutes later. Also when trying to pay it took some time to get the check and then again 10 minutes went by and I had to flag another waiter down to get the bill paid. The dinner we just enjoyed at the Tuscan Kitchen at the Seaport was the best dinner we have had in Boston in a very long time. No exaggeration. This is a beautiful restaurant able to serve many people comfortably at one time, with the addition of private rooms for private affairs. We entered on street level where there is a little bar and small dining room just off the sidewalk. Here is also an elevator (for easy access) and a grand stairway to bring patrons to the second floor main dining room. The menu is spectacular as is the food and wine list. Service is immediately attentive and tremendous. I had the Buratta della Casa to start and the most fantastic Pan Seared Scallops served over Safron Risotto with fresh Lobster meat. Amazing. Seaport is the land of lowered expectations. It's what happens when you make a neighborhood with more space for lobbies than people. In this kind of atmosphere, a pretty medium place like Tuscan Kitchen becomes a downright oasis. I've been here a couple times and both times the staff was super nice to us, even though (both times) we kept them open past closing. They were never pushy about anything, though, just kind of let us hang out. The atmosphere is actually super classy, though the place is cavernous, so cozy, it ain't. The food is...pricey. But by seaport standards, it's just another meal. They definitely put in the work, though, and when you're surrounded by places like Empire and Committee, the epicenter of the land of high cost, low return, it's a treat. Their fried calamari was pretty good, a small portion, but not too overcooked or oily. Their burrata was a bit small for the price, but not short on taste. I recommend the place, if for nothing else than to be treated like a human being. Yes, this is seaport and the bar is that low. read more

I had dinner while in Boston for work. My first impression when I walked in was that this place is gorgeous. I like the decoration and the open kitchen concept. Very nice and large menu selection from pasta to seafood. I started the evening off with a nice mojito cocktail. Not the best mojito I've ever had but I guess I got spoiled by living in South Florida where they make good mojito all around. Our group also started with a flatbread as an appetizer. I like the prosciutto on top because it was flavorful and not so salty. For the entree, I decided to go with their pan-seared scallops. I have to say I was a little disappointed with this dish. The prosciutto on top was supposed to be crispy but it was burnt instead. The portion was very small for an entree, I only counted 4 pieces of scallops which made me feel like I ordered an appetizer instead of an entree. Overall the visit was a hit and miss for me. The restaurant looks and feels nice, the service was alright. But I was kind of let down on the food. read more

We started with the Salumi e formaggi which was excellent. So delicious! For our main course I ordered the seared scallops, which were probably wonderful but so buried in sauce, I couldn't taste them. The filet, on the other hand was excellent. Came in just after lunch on a Friday for a table of 6 and got put in the dining room. They asked about water and we requested some bread and then it seemed like we got forgotten about. We tried to flag someone down to place a drink order but no one came near. At the point we were about to get up to leave a women at the next table asked if we needed help - turns out she was the manager. She got a waiter so we could order drinks and since it had been a bit we placed our food ordered as well. Asked for bread since nothing had been brought. Took a bit for drinks.......but still no bread came. The manager came by again so we requested bread from her. Then our food came out and then finally some bread. No one came to by to ask how the food was. When we went to pay - got the bill and again everyone disappeared. Took forever to get the bill paid. Food was great but the service was terrible. It seemed multiple times like we had been forgotten - and we were on the main path to the kitchen. If it's like this the middle of the day - can't imagine how service is at night. Tuscan is a cute spot but the I expected much higher quality from their prices. I paid $42 for 6 undercooked lobster ravioli. My lychee martini was also subpar unfortunately. First time dining at Tuscan Kitchen. It may be a chain restaurant but the management here has made this like a big family run diner. Waitstaff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Service is top notch. Bar service was quick too. Food is well presented and tastes incredible. Elevator for wheelchair access from the street is a plus. We showed up a little early for 6:30 reservations and requested a window seat. They were able to accommodate us as requested and we had a great view looking down on Seaport. We started with the house made buratta and it was almost as good as what we had in Italy. Fresh and creamy, a real treat served with pesto and grilled sourdough bread. Its a large serving as well. Afterwards we decided on the house red wine and the 10 oz, beef fillet special and truffle fries. We shared this dish and found it cooked perfectly, delicious and tender. As for the serving, it was more than we could eat. For dessert we had to try the amazing Salted Caramel Gelato! A fabulous finale to the best dinner of our whole visit. The manager even stopped by to check how our dinner was. The restaurant is well decorated, clean and not crowded. Tables are spaced far enough apart for some privacy even at capacity. We didn't get a chance to visit the but it looks cool too. All in all we had a great experience and I would fully recommend Tuscan Kitchen. We will be back on our next visit. We very much enjoyed having our Bridal Shower at Tuscan Kitchen Seaport. The service was wonderful and the room was set up wonderfully too! All our guests exclaimed at what a pretty setting we had in the Toscana Room. Everyone enjoyed the food as well! This is a really big restaurant with a beautiful dining room that overlooks Seaport Blvd. Lots of banquettes and large tables for groups as well as an enormous bar that overlooks the pizza kitchen. Food is good, expensive and definitely some dishes are better than others. Calamari was excellent, Caesar Salad was also great as was the shrimp scampi and bolognese dishes. Fish was dry and the sauce was not great so stick to the basics here. They don't offer you bread unless you ask for it and sometimes service can be a bit lacking. But this is a big restaurant and when t's busy, it's busy. read more
