The mint leaves and lime make it so refreshing, and I've tried similar menu at other boba places but nothing even comes close!!! Update** Unfortunately, I feel like this place has gotten worse of the last 2 years. I loved coming here. Their drinks were so yummy and I enjoyed my time in the shop as well as just grabbing a drink. The service I've received has been really upsetting recently. I've came multiple times throughout several months and it just gets worse and worse. My drink is never the same and the flavor is disappointing. My bf ordered a double purple just for it to be completely wrong and my brown sugar w/ oreo milk foam was pretty much just watered down milk. There was no brown sugar in it and the pearls were different than before. One other time, I got a huge clump of pearls so I couldn't enjoy it that time either. I feel awful writing this, but it genuinely makes me sad to see. The drinks should be the same as always with maybe some differences because people make mistakes and aren't computers, but every time I come there's an issue. I don't plan to come back here anymore because of it. I gave so many chances because I loved this place and where I'm located it's extremely convenient, but it's no longer worth going when my drink doesn't even come out right. I've been to Tsaocaa a few times, and it's such a great (and cute!) place to get work done or to catch up with friends. Especially now that they've added a bunch of claw machines inside. (although it's expensive, each token is $1) I love how extensive the menu is and how the drinks and cups are always so cute. Their teas are also very flowery, which I know some people love. But what I don't love is the inconsistency of the drinks. It's very hit or miss. My friend got her drink with 50% sweetness and it still had such a strong syrupy sweetness to it. I first went to Tsaocaa in Pittsburgh and delighted to see it open here. It's the most value-for-boba shop in the area. The price includes tapioca and the tea flavor of the osmanthus Oolong (30% sugar, less ice is my go-to order) is consistent and flavorful. I would love to come back! Went at a very dead time of day on NYE so we were the only people in there, but I'm sure it's busier at a more popular time. Ordered the brown sugar bubble milk black tea with pearls, and it was pretty good! The tea flavor was amazing, but I wish I did 100% instead of 70% sweeteness , but that's on me. I will say the pearls were a great texture, but weren't all that sweet and had almost a tart aftertaste, not sure if it was because we were close to closing or if that was their normal flavor. From quality of cup and packaging to flavor profile and variety of drinks.I love that options of jelly's & they even have oat milk and coconut milk options. We were visiting Austin and it was my last day before heading back to Dallas. I was really craving for boba tea and my friend suggested we go to TsaoCaa before we drive back. This tea shop is inconspicuously hidden within a strip mall. But don't judge a book by it's cover, this is one of the BEST boba places in Austin! The shop is spacious, well-lit and nice decorated. The tables are just the right size to enjoy boba with your friends, and they top each table with a plant or flower. The pastel chairs look modern and are actually really comfortable. When you walk in, you're greeted by friendly faces behind the counter. There is a tablet underneath the menu where you can place your order and pay. Unfortunately, the tablet doesn't have all of the drinks or waffles listed. You will have to order at the counter for those items. Our first order consisted of: Passionfruit & Lime Green Tea: very floral and refreshing, not too sweet and goes will with Amber bubbles. Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea: Osmanthus is a yellow flower form Southern China that gives a buttery, sweet flavor when brewed as a tea. This gave the milk tea an overall velvety texture on the tongue and it pairs will with Crystal Pearl Boba. King of Oolong Milk Tea: this tastes the most traditional of all the drinks we ordered. Can't go wrong with a classic! Goes with with regular boba. Peach Milk Tea: is creamy and perfectly sweet. The peach does not overpower the tea and this drink goes down so smoothly that you wish it would never end! I mentioned that was our first order because everything was so good that I went back and ordered another round of drinks for the road. I ordered the Colorful Fruits Green Tea, Peach Oolong Tea with Nata Jelly, Peach Oolong Milk Tea, Strawberry & Blueberry Green Tea with Crystal Pearls and of course an egg waffle. I might have gone a little overboard. Lol! The waffle is made fresh to order and pairs perfectly with any of their milk teas. They're light, crispy and fluffy... right when the come out, so make sure to eat them pretty quickly. They made sure all the drinks were heat sealed so they would make the trip safely back to Dallas. I was super excited when I found out Tsaocaa was opening in Austin because I've been to the Chicago location and got something that was delicious. I'm a bit disappointed to say that this location is not very consistent. Some of their drinks (like the taro milk tea and jasmine green milk tea) are superb, but my friends have ordered specialty drinks that left a bad taste in our mouths. I'd be a bit cautious on specialty drinks, so for the most part, ordering classic milk teas and fruit teas is the way to go. Eventually I asked if they were making the egg waffle. They let me know that they'd tried to use the machine and it wasn't working. Instead of letting me know they just let me sit there, lol. Just wanted to warn others that the organic milk swirls are a very small size and cost about $6 after tax. I got the taro milk swirl and it's about a cup of milk which is mostly just milk with some taro pieces at the bottom (appreciate that it's real taro) and some boba. But again, for this tiny drink, I do not think this is worth it. Would be open to trying some of the other drinks on the menu since maybe I just got the wrong thing. This place is a hidden gem! I only knew about it through word of mouth. Somehow they're able to distinguish themselves from every other boba place by specializing in fruit teas - with the use of real fruit boooyah. I did an online order for Tsaocaa, I'll admit I had some confusion as it didn't give you the option to add tapioca boba but rather it was implied that the drink came with it. I added strawberry boba to my drink as well. If I was sure the standard tapioca boba came with the drink I would have not gotten the strawberry. My order was ready rather quickly after placing it. The tea flavor was a little too strong for me, but the sweetness of the peach was just right (50% sweetness). I also liked how they included pieces of real fruit in the drink- I think I had a lime slice and some little pieces of strawberry. Ok what is up with these low reviews??! The grand opening deal is buy 1 get 1 free (until 11/15)...no brainer there's going to be a wait. The poor staff are dealing with a constant stream of people and they tell you exactly how long the wait is before you order...if you've been informed there's a wait, and you don't have time, then go somewhere else and pay for two full priced drinks. Also, when we came last Saturday and were informed of the one hour wait, the guy at the register was kind enough to offer to call us when the drinks were ready. If the location was closer to me, I'd be here all the time! They have some unique mix-ins like purple rice and crystal pearls, but what impressed me the most was how good the base tea is. What distinguishes Tsaocaa from all the others is the array of fruity teas compared to other places in town and I think that's what stands out - the fruit teas are very refreshing, though I would recommend aiming low on the sugar level (like 30%) if you go that route. My wife got the grapefruit and peach jasmine green tea and it would be the perfect drink on a hot summer day. Their tea game is on the strong side, which I really like in my boba. The peach oolong milk tea blends the fruit flavor and the tea flavor well together, with just enough creaminess from the milk. The pearls here are among the best in town, with the great combination of chew and sweetness. They also got nata jelly too! I also like that they have self serve ordering kiosks, so if you know what you want, just tap the screen buttons and you're good to go. Drinks: I got 2 drinks, Cloud Mist Green Milk Tea with regular boba and a Iced Lychee Green Tea Slush with Crystal Boba and Milk Foam. Out of the 2, the MT was pretty average. I definitely liked the Lychee slush a lot better. The slush had a light sweet flavor that mixed really really well with the Milk Foam. Interior: I really liked the design of the shop.
