Overall: 3.7/5 [dine in] Unfortunately this place is closing down on May 24, 2026 due to failed lease negotiations with the landlord. We made the drive up north to try it before they close since they carry some Vietnamese snacks that are hard to find in Austin. Their menu is extensive covering drinks, desserts, and snacks so it took us a while to decide on our order. All their drinks are lactose free which was great to hear. The staff was nice but it did take a while for everything to come out. Peppermint Pandan Latte / Sam Dua Bac Ha ($6.95) + Crystal Boba ($0.95): We got this at 75% sweet and it was delicious. You can distinctly taste both the peppermint and pandan and it was really refreshing. Matcha Lover ($8.75): We got this at 75% sweet as well. It is a matcha latte with matcha foam, matcha pudding, and matcha mochi. We were not huge fans of this one. The foam was really thick and creamy which made it hard to mix, and the drink had a strange taste that we think came from the flour on the matcha mochi. I think it would have been better if we had eaten the mochi off the top first before mixing everything together. Popcorn Chicken ($8.75): This was okay. They used a different type of batter than what I am used to and it was pretty bland. I didn't like the chili dipping sauce either. Taiwanese popcorn chicken is still way better to me. Mixed Soft Rice Paper With Full Topping / BT Phoi Suong Full Topping ($14): This was our first time having banh trang tron with dried meat and seafood toppings. It also came with a sliced hard boiled egg instead of quail eggs. Very interesting and different. I really wished it came with tamarind sauce because that was the one flavor I felt was missing and would have tied everything together. We ordered the Matcha lover and Lemongrass Orange Peach Black tea. Very nice setting, lovely staffs, drinks are just sweet enough for us at 1/2 sweet and do have tea fragrance nicely. Normally you can lose the tea essence with the fruity and matcha flavors. We loved these. Will stop by again. read more

10/10. I'm glad I was able to try this place because it's my top 2 favorite boba place. The tea is refreshing and fresh tasting and the boba has the perfect chew. Lots of different options that it is kind of overwhelming. I got a tropical fruit lattee (which apparently means no caffeine) with boba 75% sweet and tea that was from Vietnam with 50% sugar and crystal boba. Would highly recommend doing 75% or 50% sweet because my 75% was a smidge too sweet but the 50% tea one didn't have much sugar. Decent place to do work bc there's free wifi but not a lot out outlets. read more

I don't know any other boba spot that makes matcha blended with Oreo and there's the cream puff coating on the cup with boba. It alters my brain chemistry and I'm just so satisfied with the matcha flavor. Every sip keeps getting better. The matcha flavor is delicious and their boba is chewy and sweet. We picked up some boba here the other day and we're pleasantly surprised! I tried the specialty boba with flan and it was super tasty. We also got a taro milk tea and that was the star, tasted legit and not too watered down. I typically do half sweet and that was perfect, even less is fine for taro since it's naturally sweet. Have you ever had your go-to order at your favorite restaurant and you want to try new things, but you're afraid to venture out since you know that the same things you order will always be good...but the new item you're trying could end up being a hit or miss? Well, sometimes you just have to do it, otherwise you will never know. Hence, today I decided to do just that and go outside of my comfort zone. I ordered the "MATCHA CREAM BRÛLÉE" and "EARL GRAY MILK TEA". The Earl Gray was a bit overpowering for a milk tea for my liking, but it was good--especially the salty cream foam and brûlée/custard inside the drink. If you like Earl Gray, you would love it (period). The Matcha cream brûlée was yummy (I'm already a fan of their brown sugar series (brûlée); but I didn't taste the matcha much. By the way, you can adjust the sweetness from 0, 25, 50, 75, 100, or 120 percent which is a plus! Just a note: The staff are always friendly, service is fast, and the store has cute decor! Close your eyes. Spin yourself around and pick any random thing on the menu. It'll probably taste really good. My current all time fav? The durian avocado smoothie. Not for the faint of heart because the durian taste is very.... Obvious. But for you durian lovers, this is the absolute most amazing drink. Always some soft Vietnamese music playing and great calming ambience here. I don't understand any lyrics but it's got Korean drama feel to it. Great place to bring a date and feel good about yourselves. Unless you are counting calories. I get most of these drinks half sweet so I'm good on that front. Do come by! You won't be disappointed. Such a cute spot to meet up with friends! And I love that they offer snack plates to go along with your boba. I got a signature milk tea and it was pretty good. It was really creamy and 75% sugar was the perfect sweetness for me. We also tried the rice rolls which were super refreshing, especially with the sauce. I have been searching for a good matcha drink all over Austin, this place def nailed it! If you like the actual Jasmine/Matcha scent, then this is the place for you. Their tea smelled so good!! There are some exciting menu items at this bubble tea shop! The Royal Wintermelon was a nice dessert drink. It is naturally sweet from the wintermelon juice. I asked for less ice because they fill the cup to the brim with ice. The interior is cute, clean, and inviting. It reminds me of the shops in Vietnam. The fried chicken was horribly dry and tasteless. It had no fried basil nor red chili flakes as the picture showed. The chicken tasted old. The first piece I tried had a giant piece of ligament. It's your typical bubble tea place. Staff is friendly, teas are good. They do have an assortment of different snacks/appetizers that you can also get. Inside, it's pretty darn cool and has a nice vibe to it. However the tables and chairs are a miss. It's a nice place with good menu options. They served some small snacks too. I got the skylight milk tea, and it's basically milk tea with cream and butterfly pea tea. It tasted just like a milk tea with cream since the butterfly tea is very subtle in all drinks. I also got the honey black tea. It's nice and refreshing. There is also an area with stuff animals that kids like to enjoy. If you want to study there, they do have wifi. You just need to ask for it. read more

This place is such a hidden gem! I got the taro coconut milk tea with mochi and boba and my partner got the oolong milk tea. We also got the yogurt with pineapple and palm seed and it was so light and refreshing, it's more of a thing drinking yogurt than a thick one. Palm seeds are my favorite in halo halo so I was obsessed with this! Our milk teas were also super milky and delicious. I've never had mochi in bubble tea before and it was a great combo. Cute shop but average boba I feel. I can appreciate it's a locally owned shop, especially given the number of chains that have moved to Austin, but Tea Pillar misses the mark on the tea. We tried a signature milk tea and a green thai tea and both were ok. The signature milk tea was definitely better than the thai tea in terms of tea strength, but both were a bit watery. I like my tea strong personally, so maybe that was just me. The pearls here are also a bit different, having an almost mochi like texture to them and I actually like that a lot (though my wife didn't). So, kinda up to your discretion but to me that's the best part of tea pillar. read more

Got my son the lone star latte which came with the cutest star jello. I got the boba flan milk tea and the flan was delicious, super smooth. The milk tea and boba were both quality...not the powder milk tea and boba was fresh, not hard and stale. We also loved the decor and atmosphere and the service was great. First review...woo-hoo! We heard about this new milktea place on our local FB group Cedar Park Foodies. We stopped by yesterday and again today to try and were pleasantly surprised by the yummy milkteas and their unique toppings. Beside the usual boba toppings, they also make fresh in-house the matcha mochi, taro mochi, and other flavored jello. We tried these so far: Tea Pillar Special Lone Star Latte Taro Lover Flan Boba Milktea Royal Wintermelon They were all good. Their drinks are not too sweet so ordering at 75% sugar was perfect for us. They also have the bubble waffle which is yummy too.
