Don't go here. We decided to give it a try because there were quite a few people eating here on a Friday mid morning so we thought it must be good. We were wrong. I ordered the corned beef hash with hash browns well done and eggs over easy. It was a terrible plate of food. The hash browns were not only not well down they were practically raw. The over easy eggs were also not cooked, still clear whites. And the corned beef hash had the most off putting texture and flavor. I love corned beef, I order it often and this was not corned beef. The service and wait were sub par as well. The wait for our food was well into half an hour. They seemed a little understaffed as our waiter never came to check on us after dropping off our food so we couldn't even send my awful plate of food back to order something else. I ended up sharing my husbands burger which was ok. It wasn't seasoned and there was no sauce on it whatsoever. After we finished his meal we waited and waited for the waiter to come by so we could get a check. And he asked if we wanted a box for the completely uneaten plate. It seemed a little silly that he wouldn't be a little more intuitive to realize something was wrong. They were nice enough to take the uneaten entree off of the bill. But for just the burger, no drinks or anything else, our bill came to $18 which seemed extremely high especially for the caliber of food. Overall a horrible experience. I absolutely love this place! I had the Mexican potato skillet with breakfast sausage instead of chorizo. Very flavorful and spicy. The coffee is also good. My only complaint is that the mugs are too small. Since we were all sharing, I also tried the corned beef hash skillet and the biscuits and gravy. Just to give you a heads up, I have tried both of these types of food from coast to coast, and even the southern states, but I have never taken a liken to them. However, I can finally say I like both of these dishes. You could have knocked my friends over with a feather! The biscuit was crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The gravy was thick and had a wonderful sausage flavor. And most importantly, they kept the two separate. No wet mushy biscuit here. You have control over how much gravy is on each bite. The corned beef hash was also fabulous! It was like they just took a fully cooked corned beef from the oven, pulled it apart, and chopped it up. It was so moist and delectable. A PERFECT place to have brunch on a beautiful, sunny San Diego morning. It's a very quaint place in Solano Beach next to other restaurants. Ate here the past weekend with my bf based on a recommendation from a friend. Glad we went! Although the service was a tad slow sometimes, our waitress was sweet so it didn't bother me too much. My bf created his own omelet with 8 things. Perfect portion and wasn't super greasy. The highlight was my banana stuffed french toast (picture is uploaded). Hands down, BEST breakfast in San Diego. I've lived in San Diego for 20 years and have been to just about every breakfast place there is and came across T's Cafe five years ago and haven't been anywhere else since. This is a place you could roll out of bed, stay in your pajamas, put on a ball cap and flip flops and go (and I've seen people do this). It's strictly breakfast and lunch, so if you go after 2pm, you're out of luck. I don't know of anything bad on the menu but I typically for breakfast and it is incredible. You can go super healthy with egg whites, dry toast and fruit, or throw caution to the wind and have the banana french toast or biscuits and gravy! I don't know of a single place that can math their eggs benedict. I'm not a bloody mary drinker, but there's is so good, people come in and buy it in the gallon jugs. Casual atmosphere, there is a small bar and small outdoor patio. Don't come here if you are expecting 5 minute service like Denny's. There is usually a wait to get a table but generally no more than 15 mins (well worth it). Please don't hassle your waitress if she doesn't come by right away. There are a lot of locals that visit this place and the staff is very personable and stop and chat sometimes. Again, if you just want a quick breakfast thrown in front of you, Denny's can accommodate. The meals are incredible and so is the staff. All of the waitresses are phenomenal. Kelly and Katie are a lot of fun if you can get them to wait on you. Again, GREAT place and don't miss it if you are in the area. read more

I stopped by this place to have a quick bite for breakfast and take some food to go for my girlfriend after eating. I read about the OMFG UNBELIEVABLE BLOODY MARYS! and I love me a good bloody buddy, so I had to stop in. It was busy. There was a line, but they managed to squeeze one person in no problem. I waited 10 minutes for someone to come and greet me and when I did, I got the, "I'll be right with you." Fine. I don't mind that. I understand the place is busy. Thanks for at least noticing me sitting here. Another 10 minutes pass and finally the waitress comes back over and says, "What can I get for you?" in a tone that told me, "I'm really busy, hurry up." I asked about the bloody mary and she said, "Ok. One bloody mary." and walked away. I did not order a bloody mary, I just asked about one. Ten minutes later (that's 30 minutes and I haven't ordered yet) she comes back with the bloody mary and asks me in the same hurried fashion if I'm ready to order. I asked a two or three questions about the two options I had selected and ordered my food, plus my girlfriends togo food. I requested all the food be cooked at once because my 11 years of restaurant work experience told me to ask for everything as soon as possible because I knew it was going to take a long time. My food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was VERY good. I had some veggie, cheese, egg and potato scramble. Awesome. Also, kudos for having three different hot sauces as a selection. After I was done eating, the waitress came back to ask me how my food was. I'm glad I enjoyed it, because if it was off, I would have been out another 20 minutes. She then told me she was going to put the togo food order in. Shit shit shit shit. I'm never leaving this place. Before she sprinted away from my table again, I requested the check. The togo food and check arrived at the same time. My payment was processed in a reasonable amount of time and I was FINALLY free to leave. An hour for a scramble and some togo food was WAY too long in my opinion. In the hour I was there for breakfast, I saw her stop to talk to a customer at the bar 5 times. Each time wasn't a quick stop. They were good, detailed discussions. I kept thinking about how much better the service would be if she would just pay more attention to her tables and not chatting. Now the OMFG FAMOUS BLOODY MARYS Eight bucks. Eight bucks for Gordon's, plastic bottle vodka and their "famous" mix in a pint glass. I'm no Grey Goose or Belvedere guy, but Gordon's? C'mon guys! Give me Skyy or Absolute for eight bucks. That Gordon's garbage is $5 a bottle on the bottom shelf of the grocery store. Perhaps the people ordering these don't drink many bloody mary's because I would give it a 3 on a scale 1-10. A good bloody mary is thick and full of flavor with particles of spicy, tastiness and goodness floating around in it. They did had the stuff floating around inside the mix, but somehow omitted the taste aspect. This was a joke of a bloody mary. I've had better grocery store mixes than this! My tip for T's: Call in your order, pick it up and eat it at home. While you're picking it up, have your friend/girl/boyfriend/person make up some good, thick bloody mary's with flavor and taste to enjoy once you get home. read more

T's has been around for a long time. I have going there for breakfast since I was in High School. The food is good and the selection is plentiful. It's a straight up breakfast/lunch place. Nothing fancy about the food, just good ole American breakfast choices. The service is notoriously SLOW, so do not go there if you are in any sort of a hurry or if you are so hungry in the moment you might pass out from mal-nutrition. I tried the Alaskan Omelette which is made with real crab, tomato, green onions, cream cheese and topped with hollandaise sauce. Absolutely delicious. Stopping by T's Cafe before heading to Del Mar Race Course is a tradition for us. We have missed an entire year, and I was so looking forward to getting back there this year! We went on Saturday July 24th, around 9:30 a.m.. It was a different set-up due to COVID protocols, but we were given our bloody Mary's (so good!) while we waited in line to order our food & then get seated. I ordered the corned beef hash Florentine benedict with hash browns, & my partner ordered the corned beef hash potato scramble, substituting the eggs with roasted vegetables. We were able to sit inside at the bar, where we usually try & sit. It was pretty busy, being a weekend, and they have outside tables & inside ones. We weren't in a hurry, so we didn't mind the wait. It was just great to see Pam the owner, who was helping out in the kitchen & other duties. As with most businesses, she has a shorter staff, and a few new people still getting the hang of things, but I didn't see anyone slacking around, & it looked like the food was coming out pretty quickly. Our food arrived, piping hot, and I wish I had taken a picture, because it was beautiful. They make one of the best corned beef hashes I have ever tasted, and the hollandaise on the benedict was Perfect! Made from scratch, perfect consistency, & so delicious! The hash browns were cooked right, crispy outside, softer inside. My partners' potato bake (they brought the corned beef hash separately) was delicious also. (Very filling, which is good because sadly this year, the Del Mar race course menu hasn't been what it once was.) T's Cafe is a great place to go. If you go on a weekend, especially during the Del Mar race meet, expect to have longer wait times, and with a newer staff, maybe a few mix ups. But for us, it is Great food & great value! read more

T's embodies everything I think of when I think of a sleepy town's breakfast spot. My husband is a creature of habit and whenever he or we are down in Solana, he must have a meal here. I went for my first time and I have to agree---it's good stuff. Five of us arrived and were glad there was no wait. There is now some parking in front so no circling around the block. We got a big booth and it was getting busy when we arrived. We had waters served in small mason jars and the house bloody mary, that came with celery, olives, citrus and a caper berry (I think). It wasn't spicy at all. But it was good; just didn't go with what I ordered. We did get an order of french toast for the table and it was really fluffy! It was a nice starter. Most of the group got eggs but my eyes were on the blueberry pancakes. It was Sunday, who counts calories on a Sunday? They were just as fluffy as the french toast and so worth the calories. I also got a side of a fried egg to have some protein. Others got potato skillets, scrambles and the biscuits and gravy. We all liked our food. There are SO many options that it's too much to list out so the menu photos are very helpful. I can see why it's highly recommended and would definitely come back for more pancakes! read more

Came here for our long awaited Mother's Day brunch! And we were not disappointed with the food! It was incredibly delicious, and I think everyone was happy! We had a party of 8 with 3 kids and they accommodated us very well. My sister decided to try their famous Bloody Mary and my Mom and I thought we'd try their mimosas. After a few seconds I changed my mind and said I would like a bloody Mary instead. About 5 minutes later the waitress came out with one bloody mary and two mimosas. I even looked at the waitress as she was taking orders and said I was still waiting for my bloody mary. Her look told me she wasn't happy that I reminded her again. My Aunt also ordered a bloody mary after I had, and they brought her bloody mary out before mine. I mean, I know I changed my mind, but sheesh! So, my Aunt was nice and gave me hers! Thanks Auntie! Other than the drink flub, everything else was excellent! I ordered the Acacia scrambler and was not disappointed at all! The vegetables were cooked perfectly, the egg whites were cooked well and not runny. The fruit was all fresh and ripe. Atmosphere was great. Very open and airy. I loved the style of the building, which apparently is very old. I'm thinking 1920's or 30's. I am looking forward to eating here again! The price is right! What happened to this place? You now have to order your food from a limited menu after waiting in line at a makeshift outdoor bar right next to the street, wait additional time for them to find you a table, and then hope that they get your order right! I was there yesterday and after waiting in line for about 20 minutes and getting ready to order I was told by the staff person taking the order that there was now too long of a wait for a table so she would not even accept my order and told me to come back later! I looked around and there were several tables available outside and probably even more inside. I was so frustrated that I just left and after some internal debate decided to leave the review to warn others. I can understand modifications being made at the peak of the pandemic but don't know what the rationale is for continuing this process. Needless to say I will not be back until they make some changes to this new system! I was very excited to eat here as I heard good things about it. I asked the hostess the wait time since I knew it was a Sunday morning and I was told about 20 minutes. 20 minutes go by and we were not even close to being able to order. I know places get busy so I didn't mind but then by the time we were getting seated it had been about an hour when I was originally told 20 minutes. We then waited another hour just to get our food. I saw a table of 6 get their food, eat, and leave before we were even close to getting ours. When we finally got our food half of it wasn't even hot, barely warm at the best and some of it was even cold. You do pay and tip ahead of time and honestly for how much it was I would have at least expected hot food. Probably one of the worst meals I've ever had. The cornbeef in the rubin sandwich, was cut with the grain making if tough. Although it was flavor full. The crab cakes where adiquit. The scrambled eggs with spinach was fine, although the waitperson never brought the toast that was to have come with the meal. The biggest thing that killed the dinning experience, was the utensils came 5 to 10 minutes after the food was brought to the table. Making my all four of our meal cool or already cold. Everything on the menu, was priced at $15,00 we ordered our meals, they came in a timely manner, and we never saw the waitperson again. We had call another person that was working nearby just to ask for water, and some more ice-tea. When our waitperson brought it to the table, it was like we were bothering her while she was visiting with a friend at a party. When I first entered the restaurant I thought it was a local favorite...it is so filthy dirty that the vents are hanging from ceiling and the floor has not been cleaned in years. My wife and I have now been here twice. Both times for breakfast. The first day was on the 14th and then again on the 15th. So I will start with the 14th. No one greeted us when we walked in . We haven't been at T's in years and years. So, no greeting and finally a girl said to us sit anywhere. Finally got menu's and then ordered. We decided to share the eggs benedict . It was good my only complaint is that the hash browns were not cooked enough. On the 15th my wife got the eggs benedict again because she did like it but she asked to have the hash browns cooked more. As for myself I got a BLT. I did like it and I got it served with fry's. The service we received was much better than the day before. I would go back again for either breakfast or lunch. Not a 5 star place in my opinion but 3 stars ain't too shabby. read more
