My Mom decided to have my brothers "49th" birthday brunch at T's this past Sunday. We've been going here for years and love this place and Pam. We were about 10 people but they don't take reservations. So we showed up 10 minutes before the group. Everyone was so great. We all sat in the bar and ordered bloody Mary's or Manmosas. 2 more people RSVP'd last minute so T's sat the group of 10 until another table opened up. We went on a Sunday morning for breakfast and it was pretty busy. We were seated within 15 min and our drink orders were taken quickly. The staff were all very attentive. I ordered the Good Old Bennie (eggs Benedict) and it was delicious! The kids ordered French toast and eggs and it was great. My only complaint is that they didn't give us kids menus and then asked which French toast we wanted, regular or kids. Overall great experience. I'd definitely go back! read more

I've been visiting T's cafe lately searching for another star-Found it, found it a bunch of times! I've explored the menu a bit more and you'll have a 4 star (or higher) breakfast (As far as the food is concerned) by ordering one of the following: Any of the bagel options The Corned Beef hash with hash-browns instead of breakfast potatoes and poached eggs (Add avocado) The biscuits remain to be totally legit The French Toast The Country Benedict The service is still a little slow if you're more than a two top I've found-I've been about 3 times in the last couple months with friends and all three times we've had to beg for water/napkins/etc-when it's just the BF and me or when I wine with a galpal it's lickedy split tho. They don't have soy milk or almond or any milk-alternate for coffee according to my servers-sad! This is such a common place option nowadays and I wish they add some sort of non-dairy item for my coffee! Not lying - one of the best breakfasts I've ever had in my entire life. EVER. I'm serious you guys.. HOLY SHIT. The husband and I came down to have breakfast with the besties before going to watch the Tigers lose to the Padres (le boo). Being the creature of habit that I am I rarely if ever order anything but Chicken fried steak and eggs. I have been going to T's for a very long time. It is a great breakfast place, especially the morning after if you know what I mean. My friends and I love to meet here on the weekends for breakfast and a Bloody Mary. They have a great Bloody Mary, you can even buy their mix to go. It is a popular place so there is usually a wait small wait for a table on the weekends, but you can get a drink in the bar while you wait. I love their eggs Benedict and they have several Benedict options to choose from. They also have Scrambler and Skillet options a long with different breakfast options. I try to make myself try something different every time I go but I do love Eggs Benedict. The only down side I would say is the service, they are SLOW!! One time we went it took 45 minutes for them to bring out our breakfast, we thought they lost our order or forgot to put it in. So if you are in a hurry you might want to think twice about going, but if you have time it is worth the wait. read more

Melanie is, hands down, the overall world title holding champion when it comes to serving! There is no order too long or complex for a veteran such as her. Seeing Melanie in action is tantamount to watching Bruce Lee juggle five live babies! At first you're almost a bit worried, I mean these are live babies, 3 would be impressive enough but 5??!!? Until it dawns on you who's doing the juggling, it's Bruce Effing Lee! Those babies will be fine... That's pretty much Melanie when it comes to serving. This place is famous for their giant list of egg's benedict and their massive mimosas. Really, the mimosas are served in a pint glass, mostly champers! There was about a half hour wait, but if you are in good company it goes by fast and there is lots of quality people watching. The food is kinda mediocre, I think. My friend's corned beef hash eggs benedict florentine was delicious, that is some of the best beef hash I have ever had. Their eggs are made in an egg poacher, so they come out looking a little institutional. However, they are poached to a perfect consistency. I tried their biscuit and gravy and it was a fail on all fronts. Poppin' Fresh makes a better biscuit, I know because I have made them recently, And the gravy tastes like it came straight from a can, made with Carnation Evaporated milk with some thickeners (like corn starch maybe) and a few teeny tiny chunks of bacon thrown in. It was like eating slightly salty glue. Foul. Stay away. I gave them three stars for atmosphere and service, both of which were awesome on a Sunday morning. I wish I could give them four stars for the food, but I simply cannot. Next time I will order differently and maybe I can come back and review again. read more

A great place to go for breakfast, a true local favorite. When it is the off season (spring/fall/winter) it's easy to grab a table, however, during the summer months, plan ahead because there will be a wait. Its very cozy and casual, if you are lucky during the winter months try to grab a table by the fire pit or when its warm the patio area is great, and bonus if you sit outside you can bring your dog. I recommend the California Skillet which has a yummy hollandaise sauce, any of the Benedict's which are awesome and the Reuben for lunch. They also have one of the best homemade bloddy mary's. Tip: You can buy the Bloody Mary Mix and take it home with you, so you can have the tast of T's in the comfort of your own home. read more

T's is Legendary and you should not come into the building without patience and respect. Family owned and operated always, almost everything is made from scratch, and the best bloody Mary mix ever. EVER. The kitchen is small, but they crank out everything off of their extremely large menu. With that said, food and drink can take time when it is busy. Best plan for a busy weekend day: put your name in and drink a bloody Mary while you wait. If you are in a hurry, jack in the box is down the street. Be realistic people. If you take the time to spend a good part of your morning here, you will get it. If you have the audacity to be an over-critical restaurant goer, stick to corporate chains that train their management to deal with your demographic specifically. Read and repeat that last sentence until you realize what it means. If you're lucky enough to have Kaylin take care of you, she will light you right up! Hubby and I have been to this café 3 times so far. First time I was 6 months pregnant, second time we had a 6 week old and the last time was a couple of weeks back (my daughter is now 7 months). The first two times we went to the café the service was fast and both times I had the Homemade Corned Beef Hash Skillet and it was good. The third time I decided I needed to be a bit more adventurous and instead had the MBC Burger (a burger with mushrooms, cheese and bacon) and added an egg to it. The food this third time was just as good. However, the service was much slower. This place gets extremely busy and there is not a lot of wait staff. I like that the place is unique. The restroom however isn't the greatest in the world. I will be returning as I love the atmosphere and the food is good. However, I may come a different day of the week as Sunday appears to be crazy busy. read more

So after a night of debauchery with one of my oldest friends for her birthday this weekend, she woke me up at 9am and Saturday morning to start the party again. Going on only four hours of sleep (that's ok, she had only had three!) I threw a hat on my sleepy-ass head and we rolled out to have what she claims are the best Bloody Mary's in the world. T's has a really cool vibe to it. It seems pretty chill, and the waitstaff was nice. There was barely a wait, and it was around 11am on a Saturday by the time we arrived. We ordered our first round of Mary's and then almost immediately were seated. By the time the waitress came for our drink order, my friend ordered another... that pretty much sums up the vibe of my trip to San Diego this weekend! :) I'm the crazy person that always orders a Mexican breakfast, even at 'American' places. Some would say this is just setting myself up for disappointment, but I ordered the huevos rancheros anyways. The food was great, and they have a wide variety of choices for all food preferences. The ingredients all seemed very fresh, and perfectly ripe. They had some cool combinations on the menu that I had never seen before as well. And I was only looking at the breakfast menu! Maybe the Bloody Mary's are the best in the world, but I'm just not a Bloody Mary fan. So I drank about a fourth of mine and gave the rest to the birthday girl (cause she needed it) while I ordered a large mimosa. This place is definitely worth checking out. Other reviewers are right. It's an older building and has a Midwest greasy-spoon feel to it. Red terracotta tiles are scuffed up and the booths are old style but looked recently reupholstered. Location is great but parking is tough. Mostly street parking; they do have a parking lot, but only about 8 spots, all parallel parking. I ordered the eggs Benedict with lox. It took a while for our food to arrive but our friendly server told us there was a large party in the back and she kept us informed so no big deal. Coffee was good, and topped off frequently. The firepit was not on and it would of been nice. It was a little chilly this morning. I was told that the hollandaise is made on site and it was ok. I've had better, and I've had worse. After more careful tasting, I thought I tasted a hint of hollandaise "mix". The poached egga were cooked perfectly. The OJ is defininatly fresh squeezed! Final thoughts; they do give you a lot of food for the money. Two people, with 20% tip was just under 30 bucks. Good enough to eat there if I'm in the area, but not worth driving from Poway to the coast just for that. So if you're in the area and hungry, I recommend this place! read more

The first breakfast I had was not so good, but I think it might be because I cannot eat dairy so most breakfast foods just don't taste as good when you take out the cheese, sour cream, and butter. Went back for lunch the other day and had a marvelous BLT with a side of lentil soup. So yummy! I ate that thing right down. Was going to just go for 3 stars, but thennnnnn I tried the bloody Mary's everyone talks about. No joke, so good! They put pickled chile peppers in them and I don't know what else but seriously, yum. Hands down the worst wait staff I have ever seen. Everyone's really nice, that's not the problem. They are so friendly that they can't stop talking to eachother! If they weren't wearing aprons, I would have thought these ladies were at a Friday afternoon happy hour, having a couple cocktails, telling war stories of how their weeks went. The food here is pretty decent, I mean, really, you can't mess up eggs and bacon... And that's why I've been back a few times, now I just know that if I do come here, ill just have to sit back, sip my coffee slowly (since no one ever comes around to give you a refill) and enjoy the early morning "soap opera" that these waitresses star in. Good: - Lox benedict with capers: Man! These eggs were nicely poached. The hollandaise sauce was great - rich and thick (but not too thick!) with a great flavor. The lox is a perfect substitute for the ham - it's salty and soft. Yummy! - Bloody Mary: Perfect level of spice and just plain tasty. I'm glad I ordered this early on, because it took a really long time for us to get our drinks and our breakfast order in. The one blight was the garnishes - the celery was old. Boo. Not-so-good: - Chorizo egg dish: My friend ordered this. He seemed to like it, but I thought it was dry. - Mango Mimosa: It was just champagne. There was a little mango pulp at the bottom, but it didn't add much flavor. Good from the price point perspective, but disappointing from the tastiness perspective. The service seemed spotty although friendly; it took a really long time to get our food orders in and get seated. Not a huge fan of the decor, or the fireplace that was roaring on a hot Saturday afternoon. I would definitely get the benedict again, but other than that I'm not terribly excited by this place. One good unintended side effect is proximity to the beach - we rounded out our afternoon with a brew at Pizza Port and then sat on the sand for awhile. :) Good way to spend a Saturday! read more

Nothing too fancy just damn tasty on a Saturday morning. What T's is to many a folk up here in the North County wasteland is a world class hangover recovery local. Hail the mighty Bloody Mary. Get here on a Saturday morning about 10:00am and you will be blown away by the amount of Bloodys being served. Never have I seen so many happy hungover faces. I have been to T's Cafe a handful of times and every time I continue to go, the service gets worse and worse. The food is great but they have some serious staffing issues in the kitchen and need better management to keep up with the pace. When we arrived, we were told that it was a 30 minute wait. We ended up getting seated after and hour and twenty minutes. They offered coffee to us about one hour of waiting and then tacked it on to our bill once we were seated. A bit disappointing they couldn't offer up complimentary coffee for the long wait. I will be looking for a new brunch spot until T's Cafe can pull it together on their service. read more

The food is AWESOME. The wait was horrible and the girl they had at the front seating people was so dumb I'm surprised she figured out how to get dressed that morning. She stood there clueless and had no idea how to seat people and took them all out of order to their seats and left tables empty for 5-10 minutes before she sat anyone. The wait staff looked irritated with her and started bringing people back themselves but because the hostess wasn't sure who got there first they took people out of order as well. We sat near a prep area and all of the supplies were empty and the wait staff spent a lot of time trying to find things and having to go get it somewhere else. The hostess also walked back and forth to the prep area looking like she wasn't sure what to do. I'm not sure if it was just because of new staff or because management sucked. That being said, we will go back because the food is just that good. The biscuits and gravy were out of this world. The Bloody Mary was perfection and the eggs Benedict were perfectly poached. I will share that the people I typically go with here luckily know the staff so i've never really had to wait :) and we typically go here from breakfast, late breakfast, or might as well call it hung over brunch. If you're coming for breakfast do not come starving because there is a high probability that you may need to wait. You are able however if there's muffins or pastries in the cold case, grab one while you wait if you're starving. Worth the wait- my default has always been the soy chorizo quesadilla. I've had other items like the nova lox, corned beef, etc and have all been good. a great breaksfast staple in North County and always hits the spot! the BF always orders the Bloody Mary's so though I haven't tried it myself, I've heard its pretty gosh darn good. read more
