I love floating in the pool so when my daughter gave me my first session at True Rest I was intrigued. I wasn't sure if I could do a full hour session because my mind goes a million miles a minute. I have a difficult time relaxing. I focused on using the breathing technics in the video and consciously monitored slowing down my mind. I made it to about 25 miles per minute and believe each additional session, I can slow my mind down even more. I was so relaxed after my first session. I wish I could give more than five stars for True Rest Float Spa on S. Gilbert Rd in Chandler, AZ. Having Fibromyalgia, I am constantly trying to find pain relief. It was suggested to me to look into water therapy, but not many places offer warm water therapy. In my searching, I found out about Floating and how it helps ease pain. Coming down to Chandler, AZ on a personal retreat, True Rest Float Spa came up almost immediately when I searched the area for stress relief ideas on the web. From making the appointment right up to the moment I walked out the door, the staff did everything they could to create a relaxing and stress-free atmosphere. They have a special first time floater price that is very reasonable. You do need to go in a half an hour before your appointment for a tour and to watch a video, but even all that is done in a relaxing way. I love the set up for the float rooms. It's very private with calming spa music. There is this wonderful rain shower to use both before and after your float; shampoo, body wash, and for the second shower, conditioner is all provided. The Floating pod has just the right amount of water in it and at a comfortable temperature. With the top closed, it is still very roomy inside. It does get humid, but if that is bothersome you can use this little noodle to prop the lid open just a bit so to circulate in cooler air. Music plays for a short time in the beginning of the float, then stops. I highly suggest turning the lighting off in the pod and floating in the dark & silence. It is a surreal experience. But you can keep the light on if you want, even changing the color of the light. When it gets close to the session being over, the music will come back on. It's suggested that you stretch at that point and I found it to be really easy to move and stretch in the water. I was very relaxed after my float, but was told that floating more often would lead to being more energetic. I wish that I wasn't just visiting so that I could get a membership and float again. They have several different plans and there are a bunch of ways to earn discounts and other perks. Speaking of perks - the Oxygen bar was amazing, too! After the float, you can go into the lounge area, which is where the Oxygen bar is. There is cool water or hot tea to drink and adult coloring books to sit back and just chill for a bit. For those who have any sort of pain issues and live in the Chandler, AZ area (or just visiting, like myself), I highly suggest giving a Float a try. The owners and staff at True Rest Float Spa on S. Gilbert Rd will not just take good care of you, but they really honestly care about you. Helping each person find pain relief, or stress relief, or even just relax for a bit is what their goal is. You will not regret giving Floating a try, especially at this Float Spa! I know that I'm glad I did and, if I get to come down this way again, I'll jump at the chance to go here again! read more

From the super warm and inviting concierge, to the extremely clean facility, every touch has been considered to help you relax. Once inside the tank, I was completely zenned out in a blissful state within minutes, if not seconds. My first float. I had a groupon, however, I now know I would pay full price! I travel frequently for work and have had massages all over the world. Massage leaves my body feeling tuned up but my mind usually is still in high gear afterwards. The float left me more mentally relaxed and rejuvenated than any massage I have had. Floating my arms above my head realigned my back and released the tension in my shoulders. The facility was immaculately clean and very zen in the design. The owner greeted me upon arrival and got started early. He answered all my questions before and after. I am happy to have this new spa very near our house, near our sons school and next to Otaku (great for takeout or happy hour - owners maybe could collaborate and get creative on possible packages?). This was an awesome experience!! Doing a float is different from other therapy so your expectations should be different. This type of therapy takes a few sessions to "master" and once you get the hang of it the more relaxing it becomes and the greater the benefits. Tried to charge me for a no call no show I showed Walker my cell phone with their phone number on it showing him the outgoing call he still refused to let me float he did try to call his manager twice who did not answer spoke with Carlos the day that I canceled and Carlos didn't leave any notes so Walker refused me service. I walk out and Walker comes out to my car to say I'm canceling the rest of your scheduled appointments as well. I'm a brand new client very unprofessional very rude horrible service do not go here because even when you do call and show them proof of your call they're still going to try to take your money. Will be going to another flow pod from now on.First time buyers beware what horrible customer service and staff. I work with professional athletes all over the country- I'll be showing them another location that won't do this to their customers. $49 charge because I got my period and had to cancel, but Carlos left no notes. If this was based purely on the relaxation portion of the experience it would be 4 stars but to rate as a whole including the staff, the experience was brought to a 2 star. My wife and I had to take off a month to redirect funds to our 4 children starting school. I called in on the day that was explained to me to cancel and they cancelled. I then received an email stating that they will be charging each of us $60 and that I have another float. I called Cassie and explained that this was not clearly stated. She understood and said that she would pull the last float and I would not be charged the total $120. I was even sent an email outlining what she stated. 2 days later...I see that $60 was pulled from my bank twice. When I called them back all the staff (including Manager, Tessa) would say is "sorry, nothing we can do.". It almost felt like a scam. This will be 2 lost future clients. read more

I had an awesome first experience with float therapy at True Rest! When I walked in I was greeted by the owners (the place is fairly new) who welcomed me with a hug and talked to me like we had known each other forever! We had spoken on the phone previous to my appointment where they had explained the whole process. Truly an amazing couple who are in the business because they are passionate about float therapy. The beginning of the whole process starts with a 7 minute video on what to expect, do, etc. (in the most comfortable chairs ever!), after that they give you a tour of the spa and lead you to your private pod suite. The pod is filled with warm water with about 1200 lbs of Epsom salt which is what makes you float. Before you get in the pod, you're instructed to take a shower which you will do again after floating for an hour. It was such a relaxing experience which also helped relieve some neck and upper back tension that I've been having. The experience with sensory deprivation was also interesting and allows you to focus on your breathing and enter a meditative state. I definitely recommend this place and look forward to my next float session! read more

I've heard of float spas and wanted to try one, but the cost was always the issue. For $79 an hour, it should be on par with a typical massage. I should walk out feeling refreshed, and perhaps a little "jello-y" from the experience. Float Spa? Not so much. I scored a Groupon for I think $39 for a hour. The True Rest Float Spa is fairly new, but its part of a chain so it is very professional. As a new-comer to floating, I had to watch a video explaining what to expect and how to properly enjoy the float. The video goes through the history and theory of this therapy, but unfortunately shows one of the early researchers in this field being interviewed; which was OK except that he's wearing a coon-skin cap, just like Davey Crockett. Immediately my brain went from casual acceptance to "this guy is a loon". The facility is clean, very new and well appointed. After showering and getting into the pod I tried all the tricks they explained in the video about how to relax and get my Beta brain waves to come into sync or whatever mumbo-jumbo they had on the video. Nothing worked. The good news is that you're soaking in a tub of highly concentrated Epsom salts, so whatever they did to your grandma's feet when she soaked them, you're getting the full body treatment. My hour was up, I got out and showered the salt off as instructed. That was it. I could have used the Oxygen bar they offered, but didn't like the idea of getting plumbed up with a nasal cannula, looking like I'm getting set up for a colonoscopy. Walking out was just like walking in, just a bit cleaner. I wasn't prepared to part with the money to explore this further especially after not feeling anymore relaxed as when I went it. Unless they have a real smoking deal (4 sessions, less than $100) I won't be back. read more

I was not sure what to expect but had been researching floating for pain relief. I bought a Groupon to save a little money and see if I liked it. First of all Jill is amazing she immediately made me feel at ease. Gave me some spa shoes and amazing tea she gave me a tour of the facilities before having me watch the video. She then went into the float room and explained everything to me in detail. I am normally claustrophobic and wasn't sure I could do it. I was so wrong I spent the most amazing hour of my life. It takes all the pressure off of your body and you just relax. It must be how a baby feels floating in body temprature water. I highly recommend this business and the service they are offering.
