We had an issue or we thought we had an issue with our fridge lines. The guy was a short guy forgot his name, but very rude never took his sunglasses off and arrogant. I know I'm just piling on with this review, but my experience was quick, painless and educational. My guy was on time for our appointment and went right to work. He flushed/de-scaled my tankless water heater and then made sure everything in the house was working as it should. The whole job was done in less than an hour and his recommendation for me was not to worry about it for another two years. So if I only have to spend $125/year for my water heater maintenance, I'm probably getting away cheap. great service, I'll use them again. Oh and if you call to make an appointment you will be connected to "Sophie" at first, just to warn you, she is AI and gets stuff wrong, best thing you can do is ask her if she's AI, she will tell you she is, and then you can ask for a human being, worked for me. Noticed a leak coming from the garage. The water felt warm so figured that it was the water heater. Called True Plumbing and definitely felt like a robot answered my call which is cool. Was confused because took my name and booked an appointment, but didn't get my address. 2 hour window for the appointment and was able to get a time less than 48 hours. Received a confirmation email and had my address which was wild. Fast forward to Monday and they arrived 25 minutes before their scheduled time. They sent a text that they would be arriving in 30 minutes and then they were there. Usually would be happy for a plumber to arrive early, but wife had a work call and I was driving home from work to meet him. He was ringing the doorbell a bunch which annoyed my wife, but life happens. Joel was very nice and said we needed to call CPL to locate where exactly the leak is. He gave me the wrong number for CPL even though I read the number back to him. True Plumbing didn't have any appointments the next day, but Joel found a way to squeeze me in to take a look after CPL completed their inspection. Sent two estimates which I had questions about. I talked to Joel on the phone and he answered them all. I really like that he was able to do cement work which some places wouldn't do. The communication across the board really stood out to me and I know their prices are better than most because I had quite a few estimates. read more

I just had the strangest experience with True. While I've used them in the past, and rated them as a 5-star vendor, the events of the last two days definitely negate that. I had a fridge service person come out to explore why I'm getting no water/ice in our fridge - he determined it was the valve behind the fridge. Again, having had great experiences with True in the past, I called them again, and spoke to Sophy about getting someone out. She took all my info, and stated that someone would be out the next day between 12-2pm. The next day, at 2:40pm I called in to see what the updated window would be - Sophy immediately hung up on me. I called back, and asked the same question, at which point she stated that I was not on the schedule. WTH? Not sure what happened, but certainly can no longer give them a thumbs up - WAY to many other players in town to put up with this kind of customer service. read more

BEWARE - This company installed a water heater for me in 2021. Today it quit and a plumber arrived to address it, only to find they installed a natural gas model in 2021, but I have propane(!). They could not get replacement parts because it was the wrong model for my house and that incorrect installation cancelled the factory warranty as well. When I asked for a supervisor to call me, the company owner didn't bother to call or attempt to make a deal for a replacement, he just had the receptionist leave me this message - in 2021 it was True Plumbing Inc., now it's True Plumbing LLC - new owner. She told me to email the old owner (no name, just an anonymous gmail address) and have their liability insurance cover my loss. Really. Zero customer service. Absolutely not. I'm going to start with - they acknowledged multiple issues, apologized, and scheduled a new plumber to come out and fix everything that was done incorrectly. He was a pro and it's over. But - does that really need to happen? NO. I got 4 quotes to install two toilets and fix the angle valves in 3 bathrooms. The True Plumbing technician who came out to quote was a pro and that's why True got the work. They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive. I just really liked the technician. Cut to the day of the work. The technician I met with just a few days prior showed up with what I thought would be his other half. Instead, my guy left (they were overbooked - not my problem) and the technician that he handed the job to was absolutely unqualified to be in the house. He's clearly still learning the trade. Banging against walls, dropping tools, leaving garbage on the floor. It was miserable but I had two broken toilets that needed replacing and a house full of people coming for the weekend. He was wrapping up and I went to look at the work and noticed that the tank on one of the brand new toilets wasn't straight. He went to fix it and I heard a crash and then water spilling. He broke the tank on the brand new toilet and water was flowing everywhere. And you know what - I wasn't even mad. Mistakes happen. Life happens. He went, bought a new toilet, and returned to install. He was just about to finish when I walked into the bathroom and noticed that his level wasn't showing level on the toilet. It was off balance. I asked about it and he told me that the toilet only had one bolt and he couldn't do much more. So, NO. I was being invoiced for a premium rate and was getting a novice. You can't just call True Plumbing. Their AI/fake receptionist will answer and it's not easy to get a human. So, I texted the AI Bot but I also emailed them. I got a call the next day. I explained that I didn't appreciate being left with a novice who clearly needed more training and mentorship. I wasn't prepared to pay premium rates for a shoddy job. It all felt a bit like bait and switch. They apologized, reduced the invoice, and booked another technician who came out a few days later to fix every issue. Before the new technician arrived, I noticed a smell in the downstairs near the bathroom. Turns out, the first guy didn't put a proper seal around the bottom of the toilet and the gasses from that toilet were coming into the house. There are so many plumbers out there and I truly have to question their high ratings given the disastrous experience we had... Go elsewhere. They're not cheaper than the other highly rated guys and they're clearly going through some significant business challenges. read more

I am extremely disappointed to write this review and even more disappointed to end a decade-long loyalty to True Plumbing. They changed ownership in November 2023; this was my first time calling them since the change. It is a stark contrast to what they once were--reliable, fair, exemplary. I recommended them to every friend and neighbor who asked for a plumbing reference (and even those who didn't ask). I was a huge fan! We had a dripping shower head. The tech came out and diagnosed it as needing a shower valve cartridge replaced. His quote for service was $831. This sounded unusual and extreme. Upon further investigation, I found that the Delta shower valve cartridge (pre-2006) was available at Lowes for $65.98, it takes approximately 30 minutes to replace the valve cartridge, and the average cost for a plumber to do so is about $300. I would have gladly paid this amount, as I do appreciate the knowledge and experience that goes into learning the trade. I called the company just to confirm this was truly an accurate quote. I referenced a receipt from approximately 2 years ago from the same company, in which 4 sink cartridges (plus 2 toilet flappers) were replaced. The total cost was $190. To further sour the experience, I was charged a $75 dispatch fee for the tech to come out for five minutes to diagnose the problem. This appears to be a win-win for True Plumbing: either a $500+ markup on the service, or a quick and easy $75 for a five-minute visit. I am beyond disappointed. read more

I can not say enough great things about True Plumbing. They were referred to me through a friend when our hot water heater failed. I had already had horrible experiences with 2 other local plumbing companies regarding this issue. One saw our desperation to get hot water back and tried to price gauge us. Another company promised same day service but then backed out. True saved the day after another plumber left a job unfinished and right as they cancelled on me the toilet had sprung a leak from being inspected and needed attention. Luckily I have worked with True a while ago and they scheduled me right away. Vincent got on the phone and inspected photos and worked with me to secure the leak and the toilet. We were having a toilet problem. When Vincent came to our house, he quickly saw the problem was not really a problem at all, much to our relief. So I asked him to take a look at a shower faucet that seemed stuck. It is in a bathroom that is used only when we have guests, so it had "frozen up" due to our not turning it on every few weeks to keep it operational. He found as it was calcified, so the cartridge needed to be replaced, and as he had one with him, he was able to easily fix it. He then took time to chat with my elderly husband and myself for a short while. We were very impressed by his honesty, professionalism and care. Always when you are looking for an emergency plumber it is because you have a plumbing emergency. Sometimes it's hard to think clearly in the middle of a plumbing emergency. But Yelp helped me think clearly. Today our kitchen sink started gushing water all over the place. I managed to get the water turned off and we got the mess cleaned up and I called True Plumbing because it was a local business that was very highly rated. Bryson from True Plumbing showed up exactly when they said he would, and he had the problem fixed in less than 5 minutes (one of the hose connectors had not been installed quite right originally). We spent more time chatting about the Carlsbad he grew up in than he spent fixing the problem. Nice guy, great plumber, and born and raised in Carlsbad. I like local businesses. Yelp likes it when reviewers include pictures, but I can't figure out what would be an appropriate picture here. A picture of the kitchen floor with no water on it? A picture of the pipes, shot upwards while lying on my back under the sink? No thanks. Just imagine a sink that doesn't leak any more. read more

I have used True Plumbing several times in the past. Pretty good service most of the time and reasonable. I am giving them only two stars this time because the service was good and so far as the workmanship, it is holding. So far. The issue is that a I was charged $475 for a part that is on the internet for $41 and I saw the packaging for the part they actually bought and it was price tagged at $115. That is over 400% mark-up. Not going back to a company that gauges their clients like that. Would you? It is remarkable the transformation of the company from a reputable organization to one that lays its trouble at the client doorstep. I accepted the quote for the work because I was in the middle of my workday and not time to research shower valve prices. Besides, I THOUGHT that I was safe working with a company I had used before. Unfortunately, that company has lost its moral compass and has to cover its inability to manage labor and operating costs and instead gouges customers with outrageous parts mark-up. read more

They were quick and reasonably priced with good problem solving skills!!! That's the kind of plumber you want! We had them come out twice. Once for a broken water heater. The guy replaced it quickly and gave us some tips. I could sense that he genuinely wanted to help. Another time it was a leak from the wall that I shared with my neighbors. True Plumbing was able to come out quickly and said a leak detector was required and they couldn't do anything yet, but they didn't charge me for coming out either! I recommended them to a neighbor of mine, and she liked their work too. It was for a pipe leaking. First a contractor said he would need to open up a big chunk of the wall. When True Plumbing guy came, he said he could just fix it from what had been opened already from just one side! That's someone you want - to get the job done minimally invasive. You don't want a giant hole in your drywall. The cost of patching up a wall can sometimes be as much as fixing the leak, or even more. You want someone who's good and accurate with diagnosis, act quickly and not charge you an arm and a leg. And True Plumbing did just that! Also, I thought one of the plumbers looked pretty cute LOL. Bonus. I hope they are well compensated and the company does well because it's so hard to find a trusted plumbing company. read more
