Scott really knows what he is doing. He installed a chloramine filter, water softener and reverse osmosis system in our house a couple of years ago. Working great. Love the soft water and the pure drinking water from the RO system. And love knowing that we have much less chloramine in water. Chloramine is corrosive to copper pipes and we are concerned about developing pinhole leaks from corrosion. I was looking for a company to replace my outdated RO system that was originally installed by Culligan. Culligan wanted $300 to replace the cartridges in this 20 year old system. Plumbing companies quoted $1000 to $1500 and some wanted me to provide the system. SoCal provided a much more reasonable estimate, were much more knowledgeable and never tried to upsell like the other companies. Installation was done 2 days later and we have a brand new system for not much more than Culligan's charge to replace cartridges in our very old system. This area of water filtering seems to be fraught with questionable sales tactics and misinformation. SoCal was the exception to this and so glad we found them. read more

Great experience with So Cal Water Systems. I can vouch for Scott's honesty and expertise. I have a 6 year old water softener not installed by So Cal Water Systems that was not working. It is difficult to find someone to service/repair a water softener that they did not install. One company recommended replacing the control unit and resin media for nearly $2000...over the phone without coming to take a look. When they upsell like that they are trying to get you to replace the system for even more money. So Cal Water Systems did not try to upsell. Scott came out and began troubleshooting my existing system step by step. I asked some questions about the softener and longevity of parts. I have a mechanical background so it was clear to me from his answers and his process that he was trying to find root cause. Of course there is a point where replacing a major component makes more sense that repairing...but Scott was eliminating all of the fixes before he would recommend the expense of replacing. In about an hour he isolated the issues to a part that was sticking and stopping the softener from completing the cycle. Total cost was in the low hundreds vs. thousands estimated by the other company. So Cal Water Systems has made a customer for life and I'll look to them first for future repairs or water conditioning equipment installations. read more

I've had one of these water systems from So Cal for over 4 years now. The water I get from the tap is better than anything I can buy in the store. I've never had any leaks or problems with it at all. The best thing about this system is that there is almost zero maintenance on my part. I never have to add chemicals or salt and the computer is programmed to run weekly back flush cleaning cycles. It's really effortless and I rarely think about it. When So Cal came to do a yearly filter change he showed up on time, was dressed professional and clean. He worked in the garage where the big tanks are and made sure the system was properly programmed and then started to work on the reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink. There was a lot of stuff under the sink and I told him I should have removed it before he came and he said it was no problem and moved it out the way. He changed the filters and corrected the water and air pressure in the tank. When he was finished he put it all back together and it was like he was never there. Greetings Scott: I'm going on record to identify a major flaw in the installation of my soft water system three years ago at 6022 La Jolla Mesa drive. It was identified by a professional plumber with 40 years of experience in plumbing that the soft water system was not hooked up to the cold water in my house except for one sink in the garage. This is identified to be a problem and a person technician named Danny came to my house said there was no problem, did not call me, did not respond to my phone calls, but was identified to this individual, professionally, that the system was not hooked up to the main house cold water by Pierre Klee. The professional who had the conversation with Danny is Mr. Pierre Klee has his own construction and repair company as well as plumbing company. Mr. Klee was very professional but received a very abrasive response from your staff Danny. I would also like to identify that I've left multiple phone calls for your office and on the voicemail for Scott the owner of SoCal water, and I have never received any call back. I consider this rude and unprofessional. I've had one or two brief communications by e-mail from your team and had no response from Danny summarizing his interaction with Mr Klee and the plan to repair this system. The problem is that the hard water that has circulated in my house over the last three years has damaged my water shower device and required multiple repairs and a replacement. Please do not consider critical thinking as rude. This incompetent water hook up has led to a financial expenditure on my part to repair the plumbing in the house that should not have had a problem should the water softener been hooked up to the cold water system in my house correctly. I called your staff today and they said you did not call me back because I was "rude" on my voicemail. At no point in time have I been "rude", but I have been critical of the unprofessionalism of your team. I am very shortly going to be taking further actions if you don't have a response, in writing, and a time to repair the system in my house expediently. I will go to an external plumber for repairs and then pursue reimbursement for both the previous damage to the plumbing devices in my house and the cost of repairing the system. This will be much less expensive for your business if you would come to the house, perform in a professional manner, apologize for your lack of appropriate services, and repair and replace and reimburse for the problems I've had in my house due to the inadequate water hookup.
