First and foremost, I would like to thank the EcoWater team for their professionalism and willingness to help. Their customer service is top-notch and aligns well with the values expected from a Costco-affiliated business. That said, I do have some concerns about the overall process. On Saturday (3/14), I discovered a major leak coming from my EcoWater ECR3700 system. Water was streaming heavily, and initially, I had no way to shut it off. In a panic, I contacted the original installer, Jose, who reminded me about the bypass valve. I was able to engage it, which stopped the main flow from the cracked valve assembly; however, the unit continued to leak. The bypass valve, which is supposed to fully stop water flow, did not perform as expected. Since the leak was at least somewhat controlled, I waited until Monday (3/16) to contact the office. They scheduled an emergency appointment to assess the situation. The emergency visit cost $250, compared to $150 for a standard appointment. Given that I had an active leak through no fault of my own, I felt I had no choice but to proceed with the higher-cost option. The technician confirmed a crack in the valve body but was unable to resolve the leak due to high water pressure. He recommended replacing the pressure regulator. Marissa from the office was very helpful, but the earliest available appointment to replace the water softener was not until Thursday (3/26). I was also informed that the system could not be replaced until the water pressure issue was addressed. This was confusing, as my water pressure has remained the same since the original installation. According to the specification sheet for the ECR/ERR3700 system, it is rated for up to 125 PSI, while my home measured around 100 PSI--high, but still within the system's stated limits. It was unclear why replacement could not proceed under those conditions. After some back-and-forth, I was able to work out a solution with the technician, Charlie, who ultimately replaced both the water softener and the pressure regulator. Overall, I appreciate the efforts of everyone I interacted with at EcoWater. While I disagree with the $250 emergency visit--especially since it did not resolve the leak--I do appreciate that they did not charge additional labor for the final replacement, as the unit was still under warranty. I am hopeful that with the water pressure now reduced to 68 PSI, the system will perform reliably moving forward. Additional Thoughts: If your system is under warranty, the process should be relatively straightforward. However, I do question the potential costs for customers whose systems are no longer covered. The valve body--arguably the most failure-prone component--is made of plastic and carries only a 10-year warranty. While the system advertises a "lifetime warranty," this can be somewhat misleading since the valve body is the part most likely to fail. Most water softeners typically last around 10-15 years, meaning the warranty is most beneficial in cases like mine, where a defect occurs relatively early (within 7 years of installation). The current price for an ECR/ERR3700 system through Costco is approximately $6,000-$7,000, which is on the higher end compared to other options. I have yet to determine whether the added cost delivers proportional value. Side Note: EcoWater also offers under-sink filtration systems. However, I find it difficult to justify their price point, as they use proprietary filters that must be purchased through them. These replacements appear to be significantly marked up. There are many alternative filtration systems available online that offer comparable performance with more affordable, widely available replacement filters. read more

I recently got this system installed at my house. The system works great . However the technicians that installed my system told me to turn on all the water faucets which i did upstairs and 1 downstairs. After installing the system they turned on the main valve and never notified me to close the faucets . The pot filler faucet was not closed and it leaked water all over my Viking range and on my custom cabinets. I wanted to resolve this issue by having them come out here and inspect the damage but they refused to come in and look at the damage. They instead sent out a rep by the name of Fabian who is the "technician supervisor" this man was extremely rude and unprofessional. I told him I have it all on video and I actually do. I will post on here all the videos and conversations from my house. Point is my Viking range does not turn on occasionally and the cabinets got wet. I wish we could have resolved this issue by simply getting the mentioned items professionally aired out or cleaned out . Even a discount would have been good, this way I could have had it professionally taken care of. I highly doubt I will get this resolved at this point. Next step if not resolved will have to be small claims. This has been extremely stressful. read more

I purchased an Eco Water Softener from Costco, and at the time of purchase, the salesperson never mentioned a $160 service fee. I was told the unit came with a 10-year warranty. Recently, when I encountered an issue with an error code, a technician came out, removed the existing sensor, and said that should resolve the issue. However, I was still charged $160--even though the sensor was part of the original system and was simply removed. Since the part was already on the machine and the issue should fall under the warranty, I don't understand why I was charged. Now I've learned that this charge was sent to collections. If this has been reported to my credit, I will be forwarding the matter to my attorney. This situation should have been handled under the terms of the warranty, and I do not believe I should be held financially responsible. read more

EcoWater saved the day! Or, instead, customer service rep Jonah Rivas and technician Hector saved the day! I had a plumber from a company we had worked with before come to the house to disconnect our EcoWater whole-house filter & water softener temporarily. We were replacing the floor in our garage, where the tanks are installed, so they needed to be moved out for a few days. The other plumber came to the house on the morning the garage floor was to be redone. He couldn't figure out how to remove the tanks and finally gave up. I called EcoWater out of desperation, knowing there would be no way they could do the job the very same day. However, Jonah, the miracle worker, took on the task. We hung up, and he went to work looking for a technician in my area. That's where Hector comes in. When Hector received the call from Jonah, he could have easily said, 'I'm done for the day' or 'I'm too busy to take on an extra job,' but he didn't. He said, 'Give it to me! ' Within minutes, Jonah called me back to let me know that Hector was on his way to my house to remove the tanks. He got there shortly thereafter, and within 10 minutes, the tanks were disconnected and moved to the side of the house. Jonah and Hector could have easily blown me off with good reason, but they didn't. THAT is customer service! I certainly don't expect that this is something they can pull off anytime we customers ask, but Jonah heard the desperation in my voice and decided to help. He was also very friendly about it. And Hector! Such a great guy. I really did hit the jackpot that day. One more thing, I would be remiss if I didn't mention my sales rep, Mike. I got the offer through Costco last June and received shop costco card and cashback. My cashback rewards amounted to close to $700 this year from this purchase. First, JD was very knowledgeable about his company and products. He provided charts on pricing and discounts that I was unable to refuse. He is very professional, efficient, and has advanced knowledge of my personal needs, which includes the alkaline routing to my refrigerator (that was not properly installed). I did not have access to water or ice with my handyman for 3 years. The installer, whose name I could not recall, was also very quick at installing the 4 filters, and he understood the system very well. He was in and out in about an hour. Tiffany and Jonah have helped me pick out the correct filters that I need to replace. They have different methods of providing the information, but both went above and beyond to provide the utmost details that pertained to my needs.
