Max and Jaime were very professional and worked diligently to install a tall 40 gallon gas water heater that had flooded after 22 years . The installation was inside a closet inside the house so the work space was very tight quarters. Many new upgrades were required since the last heater was installed. l received lower estimates over the phone , but l don't know if those estimates would have gone up after a plumber actually saw what the job entailed, that is the reason for the 4 stars. We did receive a 10 per cent discount for being a Veteran and saved over $120 for paying by check. l will definitely use Burtech Plumbing again. read more

Burtech Plumbing came out right before Thanksgiving for what we thought was a small leak. They were efficient and worked quickly. While the leak itself wasn't a big issue, once the ceiling was opened we discovered that all of our copper pipes were badly corroded. They recommended a full repipe of our home. We have a 4,000 square foot house, so this was a huge project. I got multiple quotes, and Burtech landed right in the middle price-wise. What really stood out to me was how willing they were to work with my specific requests. I had major stipulations, especially that they complete the repipe without visually accessing our kitchen, and they made it happen. They worked with our timeline, and Jose was incredibly communicative throughout the entire process. I'll admit I was a bit needy with questions, but he was always patient, understanding, and responsive. The estimate they gave us was exactly what we paid in the end--no surprise costs at all. The repipe itself was major (60+ holes throughout the house), but they worked so efficiently that it never felt overly intrusive. They were very clean, vacuumed and cleaned up every day, and truly respected our home. We have two young kids who nap, and they even worked around nap schedules so they weren't in certain rooms during that time. Overall, I'm extremely impressed with Burtech Plumbing. Signed up with Burtech in 2024 for a tankless water heater maintenance program that included annual flushes for $79 "for the LIFE of the unit." That pricing was a major selling point and one of the reasons I chose them over other companies at the time. When I recently called to schedule my annual service, I was told the program had been discontinued and I would need to enroll in a new VIP plan at a significantly higher cost ($200+). The new pricing represents a substantial increase from what was originally promised. They stated they attempted to notify customers of the change, but I never agreed to any modification of the original terms. When I asked for documentation showing that the agreement allowed for this change, none was provided. After multiple exchanges, they did not budge and continued to repeat the same generic explanation rather than addressing the core issue of honoring the original agreement. I mean if they are going to promise the LIFE of the unit and then change the policy they should at a minimum give people under the previous plan at least 3-5 years before transitioning just out of fairness, not just cut them off the next year after. It's obviously fine to charge the new price to new customers. Anyway, at no point was there any effort to resolve the situation or offer a reasonable accommodation. I've been around a long time and dealt with many businesses, I've never seen anything like this. Given their otherwise strong reputation and BBB rating, this was particularly disappointing. As a long-term retired military customer who values reliability and transparency when choosing companies to service my home, this experience fell very short. Customers should be aware that long-term pricing commitments will not be honored or grandfathered and replaced with significantly higher-cost programs based on emerging business decisions. read more

I thought I had a leak upstairs. Sent me a guy with 40 years of experience and 8 grandkid. In about five minutes he told me the problem wasn't a leak, but that my youngest child was peeing on the carpet! (I think that's what the combo of experience and grandkids gives you.) And then spent the rest of the time explaining why it couldn't be a leak and proving it by showing me how to read the water meter. Juan Correa texted me before he arrived . I showed him and his coworker the connection, they examined it, gave me an estimate which met my expectations, and did the job in just a few minutes. They were pleasant and professional, and only tried to upsell me a little . Juan promised to email my receipt . When I didn't receive one I contacted the office . I recently hired Burtech Plumbing to unclog my kitchen sink drain. The job took about an hour, which was expected--but what wasn't expected was the outrageous $349 bill. I've had this same service done in the past by other plumbing companies for around $100, so this pricing felt excessive and frankly unjustified. The plumber showed up and did the work efficiently, but the cost just doesn't align with the service provided. There's no breakdown or explanation that could possibly justify a $349 charge for a standard drain unclogging. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend using Burtech Plumbing unless you're okay with overpaying for basic plumbing work. Such an awful experience. Our water heater was leaking- they were the first ones available and of course we needed soonest possible due to a trip so we went with them. My fault: I didn't see that there was a big sticker on the water heater stating that is was still under warranty until they arrived, but technician brushed it off saying that they are too hard to get a hold of etc. so we would need to just buy from them and install with them. Ok I guess, after an hour I had a strange feeling so I called the number on the sticker and the company quickly answered and said yes of course it is under warranty, can just be swapped out at Home Depot or they could come replace it at no cost. By this time the technician had already purchased a new water heater and said he couldn't return water heater where they buy it but I could go swap mine out anyway after buying his and he could reimburse me $600 for heater even though it's worth $1200 but the owner said they get half off water heaters so that's what it's worth to them. So after losing money on a water heater and giving it to them for a much lower price they still charged me $1700 for 2 hours of labor of installing a not as good water heater (over $800 an hour in labor) An ethical person/true professional could have just led me to call the warranty company that it was still under when they saw that. This review is about 10 days overdue, but I would be remiss if I didn't take the time to write about the exceptional service, care, and courtesy that I have received from Burtech Plumbing during 3 different encounters that included pressure regulator installation, mainline repair and locating (Bill is a wizard at finding a hidden mainline), and installation of plumbing in the front yard. For the most recent experience, I was provided service by Jaime, who spent a considerable amount of time locating a rather tricky mainline in the front yard at an old home that I recently purchased, and instead of giving in (which many would have) after digging a fairly long trench, he instead went with an experiential instinct to successfully locate the mainline needed to create a T line that would ultimately allow for a hose bib to be placed in my front yard in preparation for future landscaping projects. Not having a hose bib in the front yard, I had to run 100 feet of hose around the house from back to front in order to just water the plants and hose off the deck. Because of Jaime's diligence, expertise, and effort, my life has been made exponentially easier in having hose/plumbing access in the front yard. To top it all off, Jaime ensured that my previous irrigation system mainline was properly capped off and deactivated so that no leaks would occur during the artificial turf installation, which was highly appreciated. And the best part of it all, Jaime was courteous, communicative, and informative in walking me through the process. The final piece that day was the installation of a water conditioner at a great value. Happy to now have my appliances and pipes protective from corrosive mineral deposits. In summary, I would highly recommend Burtech Plumbing to folks living in the San Diego area, and I plan to remain a loyal customer with the level of courtesy and care that I have received.
