The sandwich was so good, way better than I expected, and the coffee I got was just as perfect. The vibe is super chill and the staff are really friendly.

Cute hidden spot in a professional strip, glad for a close location to our hotel, had sampled Red Shift the day before and figured another morning brew was needed on our work trip. I was confused why the menu didn't separate espresso drinks from others. Assumed the Mexican cocoa was a proper coffee latte but nope. Had to grab coffee in a can later on route to the conference! But I'm sure this will do well with a fun staff and essential access to the nearby businesses.

Great coffee and apparently the best macchiato on the planet.

Great spot. I'm a black coffee drinker, and they make a great cup of plain coffee. My teenage daughter loves the Carmel macchiato, actually she says that it is the best on the planet. The place is always packed and has outdoor seating with a nice view. Service is so nice too.

Unfortunately, my updated review is not as previously experienced. First off let's start with the positives: Food - Great! Avocado toast is a constant for freshness and flavor (get the egg on top). Strawberry scone was good (have it warmed) Service - Average. Each time I come it seems like they just want to hurry the order and not make any suggestions or even greet you with a smile. *note - if you order food and drinks, only the food is delivered, the drinks stay at the counter. That would've been nice to have known this. Our food came out and when we asked about the drinks we were told they would check on them then come back. Well, our food was eaten and no one came back. When I went back inside the girl said it had been sitting there waiting for us to come get it. Well that's disappointing. Drinks - Let me just start by saying I love banana flavoring. I ordered their Banana Foster Iced Latte a week ago and the first few sips seemed like regular iced coffee but the lower half had amazing banana flavoring. I came back with a friend today and this was not the case. There was LITERALLY no banana flavoring- just tasted like a straight iced latte. How sad that you pay extra for something and don't actually get it. Honestly, not sure if I'll be back - such a waste.

Iced vanilla latte and black coffee

Wow! Found this gem while visiting Orange and so happy I did. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and while it's a simple drink, it was extremely tasty and delightful. Also got the avocado toast with an over medium egg. Unreal!!! Highly recommend. Wait staff was so friendly and warm. Cutest little place.

iced hazelnut latte with oat 7.5/10 Nice and smooth, flavoring is a little light, but nice tasting espresso. -Erika Iced chai tea latte was a 10/10 A GREAT chai, not spicy, on the sweeter side, and really smooth! -Samuel The ONLY CHAI I've ever enjoyed! So yummy! -Erika Lots of indoor seating and some outdoor seating, ORGANIC which is awesome, areas to write prayer requests, and lots of fun seasonal drink options!(:

This place holds a special place in my heart because it's where my BF and I met and had our first date, then recently went back for our one-year anniversary and got the same coffees. :) Their coffee is pretty good too! I'm particularly pleased that their Lavender Latte isn't as sweet as other places, and it's tasty and light. Also an overall cool spot to hang out and enjoy your lattes.

Vanilla latte with banana cold foam (super good) and hazelnut/lavender latte

Great customer service, good coffee and a nice atmosphere. First and foremost, they make their own flavored syrups, which is such a small thing but it makes such a drastic difference in the taste of your drink. No artificial aftertaste! YAY! I got an iced vanilla latte, with banana cream cold foam; it was so good! Again, the banana cream cold foam is made in house and it didn't have an artificial taste, but it was pretty sweet. I forgot to ask for half the vanilla syrup to offset the sweetness from the cold foam. So, beware if you don't like sweet drinks. The barista who took our order, Ella, was super sweet and welcoming. She took her time, answering our questions and made some recommendations too. The one drawback of this place is probably one of the things that makes it extra special, too. They have a little brick oven that radiates heat throughout the cafe. It was really warm in there, I couldn't wait to get out. It didn't help that I visited on a triple digit day! I'm sure the pastries come out delicious when warmed in there, though, opposed to a microwave! I'd definitely recommend this place, and will be back again!

I came on a Wed morning at 8:30am. It was packed! The ambiance is rustic elegance which fits right into this equestrian neighborhood. I was on my way to work so I just had a basic iced vanilla latte. Flavor was okay, but they had the nugget ice which I love. Seems like a chill place to hang out, study, or work...but it's not my favorite coffee.

Absolutely spacious coffee shop. It was crowded. I loved the vibe. The staff were super friendly and definitely were helpful in making recommendations. My drink was made perfect! I definitely would be coming back to try other drinks. I came here to redeem my birthday reward for a free drink, and it was made so good! Prices were reasonable

A very popular stop on Chapman Ave, nestled back near the 241! This coffee shop often has a line out the door and rightfully deserves it! Tru Bru's lattes and chai's are unmatched! The breakfast burrito and the avocado toast are excellent companions to a warm latte. The shop itself gets loud, but it is warm, welcoming, and kid-friendly! You will often see families and dogs hanging out outside. Mobile ordering can help you skip the line, but I promise you, it is worth the wait! I have been a raving fan of Tru Bru since 2016!

Busy busy place for Saturday morning. Iced chai is incredibly delicious Honey Latte - Not good; was milk with coffee and was cold, when I requested extra hot. Lemon scone was also very good.

As always, this place is always on and poppin with many visiting this wonderful establishment. All ages come here and I think that's so beautiful. They have seating inside and some tables outside. Parking gets filled up pretty quickly, but that's because Tru Bru is surrounded by other establishments in this community. The staff may get busy by the many customers, but I have never experienced any rudeness or mean muggin faces coming from them. You can sense these employees love what they do. I am always greeted and with a smile on the face. Great customer service for real. And they have much patience which is a rare quality to manifest these days but I'm so appreciative that these members have that quality. As for the items I purchase, as well as what my friends had ordered, I ordered their avocado toast. The options you can decide are Half (1 avo toast piece) or Full (2 avo toast pieces). I did add sides to mine. Bacon and One egg medium over easy. This staple is my jam every time! Just hits the spot as my breakfast go to. For my beverage, I knew I was coming for the Chai Latte. I ordered it iced, but the beverage tastes wonderfully hot as well. I did see that in their Spring Drink Menu it mentioned Banana Cream Cold foam, so you already know ya girl had to try that out. When I tell you this cold foam on top of the chai latte, oohwee!! Best combination ever! I'm going to have to go back and try it on their other beverages now. It's always a cool coming to this coffee/ tea shop every time. The vibes are immaculate!

Do they have gluten free options consistently? what are they?

Yes they have gluten free baked goods and breakfast options. The GF muffins are great!

Do they wear masks here?

They were at the time of my review. But lately customers and staff do not wear masks but I do. I tend to order ahead and pick up to go. Hope this helps.

Is there any gluten free food options?

Is it a good place to study?

Yes. I see students studying there all the time.

Do they have outdoor seating?

Yes!

Do they have outlets to charge my laptop?

Yes they do. But not many

Are dogs welcome inside when ordering?

Don't think that State of Calif allows non service dogs in any place serving food. Most people tie their dogs up outside when ordering then go out to sit w them.

Are they dog friendly?

Yes very much so. Towards the afternoon you will sew up to three dogs from different families outside everyone enjoying each other's company

Do you serve banana bread?

Pretty often but not always. It just depends on what the baker decides to make.

Do you carry hemp milk?

They do

Which brand of almond milk do you use?

Califia Farms almond milk & almond coconut milk

The location of…read morethis well-known Japanese/French bakery was unusual in that it's isolated in a corner of the El Camino Plaza. I had expected the business to be in a more high volume area, however a benefit of their corner spot was that the parking lot had plenty of spaces. There's no indoor seating, but outdoor tables were set up along the north and east perimeters of the building. I was by myself at this latest visit, and it was close to the end of the day so the inventory was quite depleted. There was no line at all which was not a surprise. The famous Strawberry Croissants and prepackaged items were on refrigerated display to the left when you walked in. As the service counter rounded a corner, there were more fresh baked goods on display before you reached a register. Across from the registers were shelves containing bags of fresh bread products. I bought a Strawberry Croissant, a Sticky Bun, a Ham and Cheese Croissant, and an Apple Croissant. The quality of the pastry dough was very good, and I could see why the Strawberry Croissant was a favorite with the customers. The croissants were light and flakey, and the powdered sugar added a delicate topping to the strawberry version. If I were to rate on just the Strawberry Croissant, then it would be five stars. My overall rating was downgraded because of the customer traffic flow. The lines can be optimized so that if you wanted to buy a six-pack of the Strawberry Croissants and/or anything prepackaged, then a separate queue should be arranged for those customers. The cafeteria trays were of limited use if you were not getting a large number of items. As you advanced in the queue, other products had to be requested from a worker behind the counter and then those were not placed on the tray. Ultimately, I think they can configure the operation to more efficiently handle the higher volume periods of the day.

The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well. Santa Ana downtown is all metered street parking so be prepared to pay for parking. The stand is located right in front of the market so it isn't too hard to find. It's in the market so there's open seating and can get quite loud if there's a lot of people. Unfortunately, I was greeted very poorly when I got here. No one was available to help and periodically she would yell over to see if I was ready to order in a very bad tone. When I asked about the cheesecake selection, she said "you have to wait 30 min." I then asked what flavor it is and she said "pandan pineapple" in an annoyed tone. I asked if there were any other flavors and she said "no because I still need to decorate. You should really come later at night." I'm used to bakeries selling out later in the day but I guess it's opposite here. As if it couldn't get worse, I asked her if there are any coffees she recommended, and she said "viet coffee." I then said viet coffee is usually too strong for me and asked if there were any other recommendations and she doubled down and used a horrible tone to say "I already said I recommend the viet coffee." Therefore I opted to just not order coffee at this time. I ended up still ordering 2 cookies: miso toffee which was too firm and the ube coconut which actually was well balanced and had a nice coconut filling. I really hope they improve their customer service.
