Cute little hidden gem in Santa Ana! I happened to be in the area and stopped by, and I'm so glad I did. The aesthetic is super cute--from the sign on the front door to their swag like T-shirts and stickers. The shop was clean, welcoming, and the customer service was great. Most importantly, the coffee definitely delivered. We grabbed our drinks to go, but I loved that they have an upstairs area to sit and hang out--it's a great touch. I stopped by this coffee shop at 6:30 AM before work, planning to enjoy a coffee and breakfast and make a nice morning out of it. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. When I went to order, I mentioned that I had seen on Instagram that new drinks were being released that day and asked what they were. Rather than explaining or engaging with the question, the barista simply pointed at a sign and said, "Right there." It felt dismissive and not very welcoming. I ordered a Blackberry Date Latte with cold foam. After leaving and taking a few sips on my drive, I realized the drink tasted like watered-down milk with almost no coffee or flavor. For an $8 latte, I expect something at least drinkable, but this was not. I called the store to politely ask about getting a refund. The employee said she would get the manager. As the phone was being handed over, the manager got on the line laughing and said, "Hahaha, uhh okay... hello?" Whether it was related to my call or not, it came across as unprofessional given the situation. The drink was disappointing, the service was unfriendly, and the handling of the refund request left a bad impression. How to get here? Walking distance from my office so I can't review parking however I can say there is a parking structure nearby as well street parking(metered) You really can't miss it. Big mural and sidewalk signs help guide you to a great cup of joe Upon entering you'll face directly at the register, go ahead and approach, they won't bite... matter of fact, they greet you kindly! Had a short convo with the cashier, apparently they have a great Cafe De Olla Latte. Her personal favorite. Noice! Placed my order for my Spanish Latte and toured the small shop. There's actually a 2nd floor with a small nest of a seating area. Good for intimate convo or even work/study. It's relatively quiet but with music playing at a reasonably low level. You can tell the owners care about branding. Plenty of merch from wearable goods to cups and mugs. Grab a good drink and maybe bring home some merch to support your local Cafe Cito. I'm still yet to try a simple espresso or americano so I can't speak on the beans but as far as this latte, a bit on the sweet side, but still very good. Definitely worth tipping and coming back. This place had been on my list for awhile and I finally made it out - and it did not disappoint! I got the iced cafe de olla latte and I loved it! Right balance of sweet and strong. This coffee spot was a little tricky to find at first and there are plenty of signs, yet I somehow still missed it and confused it with another place. Once I figured it out, though, parking was easy enough with metered street parking and a nearby lot, and the prices were reasonable, especially if you plan on hanging out for a while. The shop itself is super cute and cozy, with an upstairs seating area that makes it even better. The menu looked amazing! Honestly, if I were deeper in my coffee era, I would've ordered two drinks. I was tempted by the seasonal menu but ended up going with a regular option: the almond pistachio iced coffee made with pistachio milk. It did not disappoint. From the beautiful color to the smooth, balanced flavor, it was spot on, and the pistachio milk took it to another level. I'd definitely recommend this spot and would absolutely come back whenever I'm in the area again. The atmosphere alone makes it worth stopping by. That said, while the space itself was welcoming, the service could've been warmer. I wasn't greeted when I walked in and waited about five minutes before being helped. I totally understand being busy, but a quick "hi" or acknowledgment goes a long way. This coffee shop had a very weird vibe. The service was as crappy as it could get. No hi when we got to the counter. Not very helpful answering about what the house specialty is. It seemed that the girl who was at the register was MAD that we were there. I ended up ordering coconut vanilla latte (half sweet). It did not have any flavor what so ever. No coconut, no vanilla and no espresso flavor. Just luke warm water mixed with coconut milk. With that unfriendliness of the barista, I was scared to have her make my latte again. Such a cute cafe! It's very nice and chilly inside to enjoy a warm cup of coffee. They have an upstairs seating area since the bottom area is quite small. The girls up front were very nice and efficient. They have pistachio milk as one of their milk alternatives. Every time I come I have to get their almond pistachio latte, it's just too good! I went here because I desperately wanted a coffee that was close by on the way to work. There is a parking structure next to it, however for a quick run, there is parking in front that are metered and limited. Ordered the almond pistachio latte for my first time because I did want something 'special' but also cause nothing else stood out to me. Glad I got this though because I'm usually not an almond or pistachio girl but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I could tell it was pretty artificial though but for some reason, the almond and/or pistachio combo was good to me lol. If you're looking for a dense strong coffee flavor though, this wouldn't be it - this is more for flavor than anything. Service I thought was just ok, the girls were just doing their jobs taking the orders and making the drinks but kinda mundanely. Decided to come back and try their coconut pistachio matcha and I think I expected too much because I didn't love when I thought I would cause I was surprised with how I liked the almond pistachio latte. Maybe it's the almond I liked but their matcha itself also wasn't great. If I were to come back, I'll probably just stick to the almond pistachio latte. It was pretty crowded the second time I visited but the drinks felt like it came out faster than I thought it'd take. Noticed again that service was very bland from the girls working. If you're looking for coffee that's as strong as your hair pomade, this is the spot. First time here and I got here right at 7am. Based on first impressions, the place looks really cool. Upon entering, the barista stared at me so I stood there and stared at her too until she finally broke the silence and said good morning lol. I ordered the biggest iced mazapan latte. It was $7.95 which I felt was kind of steep but I'm all for supporting la raza. I noticed they had an upstairs area which was cool but I did not get a chance to take a look. Parking looks tricky during busy hours. I got lucky to park right in the front. I was the only person there so my drink was made quickly. I agree with other reviews that the young lady that works there is not very friendly. However, I am not local so it's unlikely that I'll return so therefore it's not a deal breaker for me. The drink was phenomenal. The espresso was powerful. You know how sometimes you can look at the color of your drink and know if it will be good or bad? Well this color was GOOD. I think my favorite thing about it was that the crumbs of mazapan were big. This is important because it makes the drink a snack as well versus other places that completely disintegrate the mazapan and it feels like you got sand in your drink. Overall, I loved the coffee and if I'm ever in the area again, I'd love another mazapan latte to help me get through life with Sonic speed. read more

This is my go-to coffee shop during the work week. They make a great iced americano and my husband enjoys their cappuccino regularly, too. They have some yummy (and limited) pastry offerings, but you really come here for the coffee. They get super busy sometimes so keep that in mind to avoid peak busy hours, if that's something you want to avoid. They have some limited seating but it's always felt like more of a grab-and-go place to me. Careful with that door on the way in and out - just a little oomph behind that open or close and that door will slam into the wall or shut, really loud! read more

They have new hours from M-F: 6am-5pm; Sat & Sun: 8am-4pm. They play good music and the atmosphere smells lovely. Mix of food and coffee. I bought their hot Cafe De Olla Latte this time around and ordered their jalapeño bagel with a side of cream cheese. It hit the spot. A nice while in the wall. Come by yourself or with friends. The coffee here is 10/10! I decided to try the barista's choice which was the iced Spanish latte with pumpkin foam. My drink was ready shortly after I ordered it and it was perfect. Strong, just the right amount of sweetness, great coffee flavor and the cinnamon-y pumpkin foam was the cherry on top. I love that they have their "Que Pasa Calabaza" pumpkin menu out right now. What a cute and clever way to advertise their pumpkin drinks. Their menu is not super extensive, but has a good amount of options. When I went, I didn't notice that there was a whole upstairs seating area. I will definitely have to go back to check it out! Their coffee was excellent and I loved the decor and ambiance. They also have Cafe Cito merch available such as coffee mugs, sweaters, and shirts. For parking, you can park in the street in the metered parking spots or pay for parking in the parking structure. I had been wanting to try Cafe Cito for awhile and finally got to try the Spanish Latte and the Coconut Pistachio Matcha. This coffee shop is located on 4th street, so parking is kind of tricky. If you are lucky, you will find parking right in the front in loading to order to go drinks. The two ladies were kind and the one who took my order explained some of the drinks for me. She suggested the Spanish Latte since I like sweeter drinks and I am glad I tried it. I look forward to coming back again and trying the Cafe de Olla and the Choconana. I came in for quick stop and got a mocha iced latte. I'm pretty picky when it comes to mochas. I think this is the this is first one I had where I wouldn't change anything after the fact! I love my mochas being on the sweeter side, which this one was. It didn't have the fake bitter chocolate taste, was a genuine chocolate color (some other shops have their mochas turn out orange and they always taste bad when they look orange), nor did the sweetness drown out the taste of the coffee. Another Saturday, another cafe adventure! I decided to try this cafe today in the heart of downtown Santa ana. The public parking is right beside the cafe so I decided to just park there since all nearby metered parking was taken up. I parked from 1230-430 and ended up paying $4.50. I asked the batista for validation but she mentioned the businesses dont really do them anymore. I wasn't sure why but it would have been nice to park for free. Anyway, I decided to get a chocolate chip cookie and the coconut pistachio matcha. The items were about $10 with a cash tip. I did ask to get my cookie warmed up and I highly suggest doing that. I went upstairs and was alone for a good hour so I got some work done. Tastewise I enjoyed what I got. The coconut pistachio matcha was refreshing and even though I prefer my drinks on the sweet side this drink was not very sweet but I still liked it. I asked for extra ice and it came out what I would consider normal ice. I guess their normal ice is very little ice. The cookie was pretty good too but if it was warmed more thoroughly then all the chocolate would be melted instead of having hard chocolate pieces. Nevertheless, the taste was good. I ended up keeping busy from 1230-330 and then spent my last hour walking around the area to check out the other surrounding shops. I dont know if ill ever return because I am looking for more of a lively coffee shop to study and enjoy coffee. It was worth a try. read more

Visited: Friday morning, 7/18 | Time: ~8-9 AM I'm a local, so I really wanted to like this coffee shop, it's easy to find and located right in the heart of Downtown Santa Ana, which makes it super convenient. They even have an upstairs area that's perfect for getting some work done, which is a plus. But unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I went on a Friday morning after my run when it wasn't busy, so I expected a more relaxed and welcoming vibe. Instead, the energy felt cold and uninviting. The baristas didn't greet me when I walked in, and when I asked for a recommendation between vanilla and hazelnut syrup, the barista responded with a super flat and annoyed "idk, it's just your preference" not even a hint of effort to help. I'm used to baristas in OC or LA being a lot more engaged and friendly, especially when customers are indecisive or curious. The lack of enthusiasm and customer service honestly threw me off. As for the drinks the matcha was okay but poorly mixed (everything settled at the bottom), and the coffee was extremely mid. I genuinely could've made a better latte at home with my Nespresso. Definitely not worth the price and I still tipped, which I kind of regret. Overall, the experience left a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively). With so many amazing coffee spots around, I wouldn't recommend this one, especially if you care about good vibes and customer service. read more

We started our morning at Hopper & Burr, where we received a friendly greeting, but unfortunately, there were flies in the pastry case, so we decided to stroll over here instead (which was actually my first choice). When we walked in, I greeted the team with a "Good morning," but didn't get a response. We ordered two Americanos, a ham and cheese danish, and a jalapeño cheese bagel. The coffee was excellent, and both the danish and bagel were delicious. It just would've been nice to feel a bit more welcomed. I understand that human interaction can be complicated these days, but kindness is still free. That said, I do plan to return hopefully the vibe feels a little warmer next time.
