My wife and I stopped by Coffee Muse while charging our car, and all I knew was that I needed a good cup of coffee, because we had a long drive home. I walked in with no idea what to order, but Kayla and Michael immediately made the experience exceptional. They recommended the Honey Nut Cheerios latte, and it turned out to be one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had. It tasted exactly as they described, like the sweet milk that's left in the bowl after you finish a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios. Absolutely delicious. I also had the chocolate chip cookie, which was just as outstanding. Michael and Kayla were knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and genuinely kind. Their customer service was so impressive that I actually asked if they were the owners. They took the time to explain the menu, answer my questions, and made us feel genuinely welcome. I'm not sure when we'll be back in Santa Ana, but if we are, Coffee Muse will definitely be on our list of places to visit again. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. There's a small sitting area good for about 8 people. There was one guest on laptop, so I presume they've got wi-fi to for anyone studying or working on the go. The menu hangs overhead above the register where you place your order. I was greeted, "how can I help you today?" I replied, "Dirty Vanilla Chai please, iced, w/oatmilk,16oz" As-is you're looking at $7.25 for this latte, after milk substitution and tax out the door it's $8.25. A bit steep considering the competition in DTSA. What did you order? - Dirty Vanilla Chai Latte 4/5 Stars Excellent latte, just priced a bit too high. Overall? Mid day caffeination fix compliments of Muse Coffee definitely hit the spot. Comeback kid? I would but not unless my number one recommendation is open. The shop is connected to Collective219, which is a storefront with different vendors to shop from. Seating inside is limited but they do have an outdoor patio area. Their coffee beans are roasted in house but honestly I had higher expectations for the coffee itself. I also don't have any sensitivity to milk or coffee but for some reason my stomach always hurts when I drink their coffee so I stopped ordering from here. I've also tried their matcha, it's probably a 5/10 for me. It could use another gram or two because the matcha gets overpowered by the milk. On the other hand, this coffee shop has one of the best cookies I've ever had. It's a snickerdoodle cookie with white chocolate macadamia nut and blueberries, such a random combo but it works well. read more

The reviews looked great, and the atmosphere seemed really nice. Since it's located in Downtown Santa Ana, you have to pay for street parking. I think it was a little over $4 for two hours.When you walk in, there is a huge coffee roaster, along with two tables and a bar area where you can sit. It doesn't really feel like the kind of place where you'd bring a laptop to study or work. It's more of a spot to just grab a quick coffee and chat.I ordered a menu item I hadn't seen before called the "Mexicana Mocha." The ingredients inside were coffee, chai, and mocha--which I assume is chocolate. They mentioned I could adjust the sweetness level, so I asked for just 50% sweetness. The drink came out quickly, and the staff member was so friendly with a beautiful smile!Honestly, I couldn't really taste anything uniquely special about the drink, haha. Maybe it's because I lowered the sweetness level? The customers coming in seemed to mostly be regulars. Parking is easy for this place, it's located right next to the parking structure and you get a 1-hour grace period for FREE. Matcha here is perfect! They also bake all of their pastries in-house. The staff is super friendly and this location shares the space with a cute boutique shop so you can browse while you wait. The meters are free from 6am to 8am and the parking garage offers one free hour which makes it easy to stop by in the morning. My favorite drinks here are the Honey Nut Cheerios latte which comes with oat milk by default and the Mexican mocha latte. The espresso quality is pretty standard but the drinks themselves are enjoyable and well balanced. The pastries are quite good. I really like their muffins and croissants which are warm and flaky. Their breakfast burrito is also pretty solid, though it is sourced and warmed in the oven. The staff are always friendly and quick. The interior is pretty minimal, only two small tables and a few chairs with outside patio seating. When we were there, the AC was blowing so strongly that the amount of air blowing made it hard to keep my eyes open and it was fairly cold. The coffee is decent and the staff are very friendly. We went at a time that wasn't too crowded so our drinks were ready very quickly. The drinks tasted good, but I think they may have put regular milk/dairy instead of the drinks instead of oat milk based on how my body reacted to it. It was not the greatest experience for a lactose intolerant person, but I would still go back again and to try something without milk. read more

Such a tough choice as all look great but I went with the pecan chocolate chip. Apparently today is National Run Day and the local run club stopped here for their usual beverage. I chatted with them and they bought me an Americano to go with my cookie! I told them I don't run, but they offered all the same. What a kind act. The café is on the smaller side, but outdoor seating would be perfect on a nice day. Staff was absolutely phenomenal. Friendly, welcoming, and quick to help. My friends and I came in around 10am on a Friday, and it wasn't too busy, which was a plus. The only small downsides: my coffee took a bit longer than I expected, considering the shop wasn't very full, and I noticed their website doesn't list a menu, which would be super helpful. Smells so nice too notes of vanilla and bakery goods and coffee will the air. I've never had any issues coming here. The staff have always been very nice and have great attitude. They do the best they can when it does get a bit crowded. They're amazing! They open at 6:30am-6:00pm, M-TH; F-SU they open at 6:30am-7pm. The time at which they open is great because I got into work early during the week. My favorite here aside from the bakery goods is their avocado toast. It's filling and I for beverage I switch between the vanilla latte and the Mexican mocha. Iced and hot both taste delicious! If you're in the area, come by and visit. Last time we visited I tried both the iced matcha latte and the dirty vanilla chai. Both were amazing. You can tell they use great ingredients and take the time to make things right. The in-house coffee is absolutely delicious as well. For food I got the berries and cream cheese toast. This is one huuuuge slice of sourdough. Super yummy and the mix of the cream cheese, honey, nuts and berries was perfection. I also tried one of their pumpkin muffins which was ultra moist and packed with spiced goodness. I have also had the Blueberry Delight and the Chocolate Chip, but the PB&J was my favorite. Get the 3 for $7 deal. The coffee was good, not mind-blowing, but it was a decent espresso drink. I ordered the Honey Nut Cheerios Latte, which I guess I just had these high expectations for because of the name. I thought it was going to be this Milk Bar cereal milk creation of gastronomy, but it was a Honey Latte with oat milk that tasted more to the oat milk side than the espresso side. I have had one of those before. Why the bombastic name? Either way, it was fine. I hope to try more of their unsweetened options next time so I can fully enjoy their roast since they roast on site. The baristas are awesome - great vibes, great energy, super helpful - I can tell they love their jobs! I ordered the Mocha Velvet Mocha which was super delicious. I was contemplating which cookie to order and the barista was kind enough to share with me that they had a deal, 3 cookies for $7, so I totally took advantage and ordered the PBJ, chocolate chip and pecan praline cookies. I would recommend them all. I got to experience something pretty cool during my visit. Ricky was at the roasting machine. Had a good chat with him about parking and about Coffee Muse. There's a parking structure around the corner with 2 hours free parking. And he shared the insight that everything in Coffee Muse is made in house, including the jam on the PBJ cookie! I'm in love!
