Had such high hopes for the banana coffee:/ The coffee part was delicious but the banana top was the artificial banana that tastes like laffy taffy. If you like that that flavor, then this is the drink for you but i love real banana flavor in my banana drinks. The menu is pretty big and the coffee was good so I wouldn't mind coming back to try a different flavor:) Service was quick and nice! There's free parking in the lot with lots of space. Also, there were MANY tables to sit at. Overall not a bad place to be:)
Came here after lunch and I can't wait to come back. I've been to Trung Nguyen coffee shop at the other location, but this is my first time coming to this one. I was pretty impressed with the variety of flavors that they offer. It's very uncommon flavors. I got myself peach cream, Hojicha latte. I asked for less sweet and it's perfect. I can't wait to go back to try out their other menu like corn latte. They don't have a lot of seats so it's more designed like a grab and go. They will give you a buzzer once you ordered. Staff is friendly and service is fast. Inside the store they also sell their coffee beans, and I love their decorations too.
The blueberry matcha was the best I've ever had! Sweet, creamy, earthy, and all the good things! Parking was tough, but to be expected with so many businesses around. The staff were speedy and kind, and I was thanked every step of the process! It was a clean, sharp space that I would definitely come back to. Next time I'll try the Vietnamese coffee!
So far one of my favorite coffee shop in OC. It's strong viet coffee and not overly sweet with fun cold foam flavors on top. The foam is on the thick side but not as dense like whip cream. Flavors range from ube, egg coffee, sea salt and banana. My favorite is the ube and banana. As a mama their strong coffee delivers Drink Menu is on a clipboard for you to grab and in the counter area. The employees are sweet and helpful in drink recommendations. The base is Vietnamese coffee (condense milk) with coffee filtered through a phin and the top is the flavored cream foam on, so it's pretty strong. Lattes are added with milk which is not traditionally a Vietnamese coffee. The shop is clean, modern aesthetic and decent amount of seating. More for a place to chat than study. I notice it can get a little loud. They have self serve water with cups on the side (left side area register.) Last time they had tea ass well which I thought was nice addition. Parking lot is shared with other business in that plaza. It can get filled up quick but usually a quick turn around. Been there a handful of times and I think only once I parked on the street but it's in the neighborhood so wasn't too bad.
I gave most of these drinks away, but I did get to try two of them. I ordered the vanilla marble cream for myself, and it was definitely on the sweet side, but still drinkable for me. I was surprised that the vanilla cream was extra thick compared to the other drinks. I think the double matcha was pretty good but not the best compared to others in OC. The market is competitive now since almost all cafes are putting out their own version of it. I didn't expect it to come in a larger cup compared to the coffees. The drinks did take quite a long time to come out, though, so be mindful of that if you're in a rush. There's a decent amount of seating but almost all of the tables were taken while I was there.
Omgosh finally!! I have been wanting to try this place loooooong time!! And did not disappoint! The cafe is so so cute and I tried their soup sop tea and coconut cream coffee, omgosh soup sop tea is sooooooooooo bomb!! Soooooo good!!!! Can't wait to get more. Service and vibes so cute love love
Saw this cafe on Google Maps while in search of matcha latte. Everything sounded and looked amazing on their menu. I settled with banana cream matcha and peanut butter latte. The former was ordered at 75% sweetness and the latter at 100%. If I'm getting drinks here again, I would get it at 25% sweetness level as both drinks were EXTREMELY sweet. STIRRING THE DRINK BEFOREHAND IS IMPERATIVE. The peanut butter latte was very nutty and gritty. It needs to be stirred before hand as if you drink it from the top, you will end up with mouthful of bitter espresso and nutty gritty texture. If you stick a straw in a drink without stirring, you will end up with mouthful of syrupy sugar taste. Normally I wouldn't stir my drink especially if it comes with cold foams on top. But this is an exception due to the layering of the flavors. The banana matcha was not drinkable for me. I can taste and smell the over ripened actual bananas and it had an odd watery texture + lukewarm grassiness to it. A hard pass and not something I want to taste again. Perhaps their regular matcha would be a better alternative. Facility features: Nice interior decor, multiple seatings available inside and outside, decent bathroom, friendly service, and free easy parking. I wouldn't go out of my way to revisit but wouldn't mind returning if I'm in the area.
I love the Trung Nguyen G7 Instant Coffee. So when I heard they have a sit-down coffee place, I had to check them out. There is plenty of parking here. From the outside, it looks inviting. Inside is even better. The decors are quite nice. Place is very clean and bright. Nice coffee joint to hang out with friends. Staffs was friendly. Service was quick. We ordered the followings: - Pink Berry Coconut Water - Càfê Sữa Đá (Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Condense Milk) The Pink Berry Coconut Water was refreshing. We ordered at 50% sweet level. So it was very good. The Iced Coffee was very good. The sweet level was perfect. The coffee was a little strong, but still refreshing. We enjoyed it here. Would come back to try their other drinks.
This was a solid drink spot! They are definitely on the sweeter side but I asked for the hojicha 50% sweet and it was perfect. There are a few tables to study at but the music was kind of loud and distracting so it would be better if I had headphones. It's definitely a good spot to sit and yap with friends. Onto the drinks! I got a sesame hojicha and I could honestly drink the foam. The hojicha could have been a little stronger but the taste was super good! The matcha was super sweet and not that strong but it was a good dessert drink. The tiramisu coffee was super strong but the foam was so hard to mix in and there was a lot of ice. This is my favorite go to Vietnamese coffee spot that is high quality in flavor and with decent prices! They have plenty of seating inside as well for working or catching up with friends. Very well decorated and clean. My favorite drinks to get from here are their: 1) Iced White (Bac Xiu) Phin Coffee (5/5): I love getting this "marbled" Vietnamese coffee that has half milk and half sweetened, dark roasted Vietnamese coffee! The price is only $6 and it comes with half fresh milk that's sweetened with condensed milk and strong dark roasted Vietnamese coffee on top. Mixed together and it tastes like a creamy but strong, milkier viet coffee. 2) Peanut Butter Foam Espresso (5/5): I absolutely LOVE peanut butter and this drink is milk at bottom that's sweetened with condensed milk, Vietnamese coffee, and a peanut butter foam that it nutty and rich! If you love peanut butter please get this. Very unique and probably the best peanut butter coffee mix drink I've ever had! read more

Good strong Vietnamese coffee! It is sweet but I think perfect for how strong the coffee is. I also like to mix the salted cream into the drink. Even after all the ice melted, it was still so strong. Fast service, good amount of seating, and a good amount of parking in the plaza. read more

First time at this coffee shop and tried the peanut butter coffee which was divine. Sounded strange at first, but I'm glad I tried it as it was the perfect combination. Review is solely based on this drink and the service. I can't wait to come back to try other items on the menu! read more

There is lots of spacious seating & the interior is decorated beautifully. The menu had pictures besides the variety of options which was very helpful. The worker was kind & helped me make adjustments to my drink! * Ube Matcha Coffee - 7.9/10 (the coffee was really strong which is how i like my cafe sua da. the quality of the coffee is great. the matcha however, was lacking & i could not really taste it. i wish the matcha was able to shine through & blend with the coffee. i feel like majority of the drink was foam. same for the ube, it was lacking the flavor itself & tasted more coconuty. ~tine) * Corn Matcha Latte - 8/10 (the matcha flavor was definitely there & the presence of the corn was strong. there was just too many corn bits for my liking. it felt like drinking one of those drinks w/ too many flowers, but in this case it was corn. ~jerm) read more

Growing up, I would watch my mom make Trung Nguyen G7 instant coffee almost every morning. Then later as an adult, we walked by the massive storefront in Saigon while vacationing. I am so glad to find out that they have expanded worldwide and have 2 locations in SoCal! The Santa Ana location is super charming with a relaxing atmosphere. You can purchase their handcrafted drinks and specialty coffee products here. The menu is very creative and definitely catered to all drink enthusiasts as they have matcha, hojicha, and teas as well. The espresso and egg coffee were super strong but amazing in depth and quality. Matcha was creamy and had a nutty aftertaste (just how I like it!). And I wanted to try something new so I got the Peaches and Cream Hojicha The sweetness of the peaches pairs well with the toastiness of the hojicha. Overall, very delish and I can see why they were crowded even on a weekday. Highly recommend a visit if you haven't already! read more

Grabbed a quick pick-me-up coffee here and ordered online, which was super efficient. I went with the Banana Cream Coffee since it was listed as their most popular option. Pickup was easy; my drink was ready at the counter when I arrived. The banana leans a bit more on the artificial side than fresh, but honestly, it tasted well with the viet coffee. I'm definitely coming back to explore more of their coffee variations and matcha. read more
Excited to try this place after some recommendations. I was pleasantly surprised after coming here! Parking can be a bit tough but usually someone will leave and you can wait for their spot. It's a small lot. I tried their pistachio coffee and it was delicious!! The pastries are also pretty good. I would just say the croissants are more on the crunchy side and not fluffy. Might be due to the fact that they are warmed up when served. Inside there are various sitting areas and it does get busy but it's totally worth a try! They have a great selection of yummy drinks to order. It's not super noisy but it all depends on how many people are inside. We also tried the berry coffee and the ube matcha coffee. Updated Review - Still the best and my go to for Vietnamese coffee. I've been coming to Trung Nguyen for a while now, and I have to say--they still make the best Vietnamese coffee in No OC. :) Whether you're a die-hard egg cream coffee (like me) or love it with thick swirl of ubu, match, pistachio, black sesame or hazelnut this place delivers every single time. Parking: the strip mall has a moderate amount of parking. There is also street parking available on fifth street. Service: the barista was friendly and very accommodating! She took my order and my drink quickly came out! Ambiance: the store has lots of indoor seating from regular table seating to high top seating. Plenty of working space, a great place to bring your laptop out if you don't mind a little noise or a space to hangout and chat with friends! There's also outdoor seating as well to soak in some sunshine. Drink: Banana matcha latte with oat milk (8/10)- pretty good pricing $6.75 for that size cup with milk alternative in Orange County. The flavor of banana was delicious, refreshing and reminded me of the Korean banana milk! I got original sweetness and I think I would've liked it more with 75% or 50% sweetness. 100% is a bit too sweet for me! read more
I know the Trung Nguyen brand because that's the brand of instant Vietnamese coffee my mom likes. They originated in Vietnam and has built a strong footing in the states. It took me a while to come to their storefront since I heard they were really busy. My first impression of the Trung Nguyen E-Coffee store front... Authentic... too authentic. As I pulled up into the parking lot there was cars parking in their make-your-own spot. I lucked out and found one legitimate parking spot. And as I walk to the coffee shop there was a SMOKING MAN right at the door. TOO VIETNAMESE! In California, smoking is prohibited within 20 feet of the main entrances and exits. *Shake my head* As I walk into the interior it was super cute. Nice decor. Maps of the world. It would be nice if you removed all the super loud people bumping into me. I walked in with every intention to enjoy my drink at the business, but after being bumped into so many times while standing in line, I decided to take it to go... and also to move my car away from this dangerous parking lot. If I stayed here I would have gotten the Ca Phe Sua Da ($5) cause they have the phin drip, to drip into your cup. The most OG way to enjoy your Viet coffee. It's not as appealing to-go so I decided to get their Black Sesame Coffee ($6.50). They gave everyone a pager after ordering whether you are having it for there or togo. Self serve and self seating. When they handed me my drink I headed out cause it was just too hectic and people bumping into you. Then I opened the sip lid to drink my drink. Mhmm the sesame cream layer was so thick. It was unable to meld with the drink as you sip. Good thing I had an emergency straw in my car... So I mixed it up a bit but the sesame cream layer was so thick it had a hard time integrating. The coffee was good but the sesame consistency was too thick. Ultimately good coffee but too troubling. I acknowledge that it is not the business' fault that their patrons can't park and keep bumping into people... but that seems to be the crowd they're attracting. They can actually put up a no smoking sign up at the entrance, but who knows if they care enough to. read more
The hazelnut coffee was rich and chocolatey. The egg cream coffee was creamy, but not too thick nor milky. There was no unappealing smell from the egg cream. The coffee was strong with the perfect amount of bitterness. When ordered less sweet, neither drink was overwhelming to the tastebuds. I would definitely recommend! They also sell many Trung Nguyen coffee items in-store. We bought a bag of their Success 1 beans. I can see why they're such a popular brand/chain. read more
Trung Nguyen E-Coffee is a nice spot with a relaxed vibe and plenty of seating, which makes it a good place to hang out for a bit. Parking is easy since it's in a plaza with lots of open spots. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the visit pleasant. I tried the matcha, but honestly, it wasn't too memorable. It wasn't bad, just nothing that stood out. I'd probably come back to try something else on the menu, but I wouldn't go out of my way for the matcha again. read more

Came here on a Tuesday afternoon with a decent amount of seating. They do have outlets here but note that they only have like 5 desk height tables so if you don't get one of those, you will be hunched over working on your lap top. For drinks, the pinh drip iced white was amazing. Slightly on the sweeter side but mixed with the high quality coffee, it was an amazing and enjoyable combo. Even dripping the coffee straight up, it was delicious. I would also recommend getting the Bánh Mi Que combo where they serve the Bánh Mi Que with the drink. Despite it's small size, it packs a punch with flavor. If they had a bigerr version of that, I would totally get it. Highly recommended this place. read more
I came here a while back for a Yelp event and got a banana matcha. It was sooo good! I came back today and decided to try their blueberry oat matcha latte. The drink is good but I think it's very sweet. A little too sweet for me. As someone who loves the earthy taste of matcha, I think the blueberry overpowered it. Even when the ice melted, it was sweet. If you like your matcha on the sweeter side, I think you'll enjoy the drink. Service is super friendly. They have a hojicha series that the barista said was more earthy and less sweet so I'll be back to try it :) read more
Omg the banana coffee is amazing. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but there was enough banana cream to mask the bitterness of the coffee - but even the coffee aftertaste still shined through. Still good - maybe even better - after the ice melts. I kept wanting to steal sips from his drink haha. I was going to get the banana matcha but changed my mind last minute when I saw the new Drinks selections. Got the Peach Hojicha and it was veeery peachy. Which it had a stronger nutty hojicha taste. Each drink was $6.50. Crushed ice makes a difference - adds texture too! Easy parking and fast service. Modern ambience. Would come back! Lots of options. read more
Whenever I'm in the area visiting my in-laws or friends, I like to stop by here to grab my matcha fix. It always hits with the perfect amount of matcha flavor. I definitely love their banana matcha latte and that's our go to drink. The banana is not too sweet and over powering and it's just super delicious and worth the try. We have tried the Ube Matcha and that was ok...wasn't impress with it and flavor for that was mild...another one is the strawberry matcha...which was too sweet for me because of the strawberry puree that add with it but my husband enjoyed it. The staff is ok. They just wait for you to order. No friendly greeting. Just the typical "What can I get you?" as they wait for your order. Overall, the service is quick & fast as long as the person in front of you knows what they're doing. The customers you encounter there are basically your Chu hai and Di Ba type of ppl. They usually hang out in front and at all the tables doing their morning gossips and vibing thankfully I haven't had a reason to hang out there or else it'll be hard to find a table or multiple open spots to park. I like grabbing my order to go whenever I go here. The decor is nice and modern. Place is clean. Parking is limited since it's a super small plaza. Coffee is good and one of the best I have found and tried in the area. Try it at least once if you need a good caffeine hit. read more

Service was great, sweet lady. I tried the Pandan Latte w/ no coffee jelly 75% sweet and it was good! The Pandan was subtle, the coffee wasn't bitter, will definitely order again. I also tried the Une & Pandan waffles, definitely need to eat it right away, the crispy on the outside and soft and chewy in the inside. Yummy! read more

This spot has a focus on blending traditional Vietnamese coffee culture and ingredients with modern Asian American flavors and concepts. This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a modern and spacious setup with some decorations as an ode to Vietnam. For their menu, they have a solid selection of different espresso, phin drip, and specialty drinks to choose from. Wifey and I pulled specifically because we saw that they were marketing some new hojicha drinks. We ended up getting the Banana Hojicha Latte and the Raspberry Hojicha Latte. Overall, both of our drinks had unique flavor profiles with great balance. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming as well. Saw Trung Nguyen E-Coffee on social media and had to try it! We stopped by this location twice in the span of a couple of days, trying the following drinks, out of their large menu: Sesame Matcha Latte Pink Berry Matcha Salted Coffee Vanilla Marble Espresso The coffee drinks were mine. The salted coffee was very strong but flavorful, enhanced by the salted foam on top (which I mixed thoroughly before drinking). The drink was extremely viscous, so unless you intend to drink it on different day, I'd highly recommend drinking it slowly with the default amount of ice. The vanilla marble espresso was less strong and more sweet, but still rich and strong. I only got a few sips of the matcha drinks, but the pink berry matcha was refreshing and made with a strawberry yogurt and the sesame matcha latte had both a strong sesame and matcha flavor. There was ample seating inside and outside, with both young people doing work on laptops or socializing and older people socializing.
