Florida Grouper
Percy N.

I received an e-mail advertising a Valentines Day Dinner menu, so my wife & I decided to try Trio on the day after. The first place we were seated was noisy, but the staff was able to move us to a quieter section. I thought my wife would go for the Crab Cakes, but we both got the Grouper with the Kenwood salad. The salad was very tasty. The dressing was nice. The grouper portion was on the small side. The rice and topping were tasty. We decided to try something else for dessert.

This place is right by the mall. Was a little pricy but very good food. I got the crab cake with noodles and my partner got the chicken pizza. And I got the coffee ice cream with brownie!

Trio has never disappointed. We went before seeing a show last week. The waiter was very attentive and very formal. We started with the deviled eggs which have a little bit of a kick to them, but not overly spicy. I ordered the French onion soup, which has always been very delicious there. It has a nice balance of broth and onions And very crispy on top. My daughter got the Mediterranean pizza. The ingredients on top made it nice mix of flavors and the cheese was fresh. My other daughter got the crabcake which was placed in a type of reddish sauce. Crabcakes were fairly large and made a decent meal. I wasn't able to try them, but she states they were delicious. Tree is always been very clean. They are efficient and getting people sat and waited on. They have ample parking.

I continue to enjoy dining at this establishment. Just an outstanding experience from the food to the service to the table we were seated by an open window on this beautiful weekend. The Naples salad is light, delicate and delicious with crab & shrimp. Just yum,

An amazing lunch experience today. Service was exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable and and warm. I ordered the salmon on a bed of orzo with perfectly cooked vegetables. The creame fraiche was unbelievable, the best I've ever had. For dessert, I selected the Bourbon Chocolate layer cake. It surpassed any expectation.

Seated right away. In the room farther back. Wasn't too full initially, but filled up by the time our food was served. Still not very noisy. So we had good conversation. FOOD!! I ordered a side Caesar salad to start. My wife ordered the Kenwood salad. Both were really good. Main dishes: I had the Trio burger, cooked medium. Lettuce , tomato, onion and their aoli sauce. Cooked perfectly! The tomato was tasty and thick. So many times you get a sliver of a tomato. Not this time! Wife had the seared salmon. Good size portion and very good, she was very happy with it. Our friends had the Jumbo lump crab cake and pasta and the Lemon chicken with mushrooms. Both were very happy with their selections. Desserts!! I had the Double Chocolate brownie with coffee ice cream! Very good! (I'm a chocoholic!!) my wife had the creme brulee, quite happy with it! Service was great! (Sorry, I forgot the young lady's name) but she was attentive, offered up some good suggestions and checked back periodically. Nice job! Overall, definitely recommend Trio Bistro.

The space is great for a date night or family outing. They have plenty of large tables for big groups which is nice. The hostess was very nice and gave us a couple of options regarding where we could sit. The server did a good job and the manager made sure the tables were taken care of when the server was very busy (filling my water, grabbing empty plates, etc.). My fiancé got the peach Bellini which was so good! We started out with the BBQ chicken flatbread and goodness it was so good that it has me wanting to try the rest of the pizzas/flatbreads. For entrees, I got the omelet with breakfast which was pretty good, nothing amazing. My fiancé got the eggs Benedict with ham and WOW it was amazing! Definitely the star of the meal. Overall, it was a good experience with delicious food. We will be back to do lunch/dinner here!

If I could give 0 stars... I would. My boyfriend ordered a medium-rare steak, and what did they serve? A raw, icy-cold slab of meat. We politely asked the manager to have it refired, and somehow, it came back cold AGAIN. Third time's the charm? Nope. They nuked it into oblivion and handed us a hockey puck instead. To make matters worse, the staff had the audacity to gaslight us, insisting that this was somehow what we ordered. The kitchen clearly has no clue how to cook a steak, and management didn't seem to care. If you want to pay for incompetence, frustration, and delusion, this is the spot for you. Otherwise, save your money and go literally anywhere else.

We went here for restaurant week and it was very good. First of all the restaurant is very big and it's very pretty. A little noisy but nice. We ordered the red wine braised short rib with horseradish mash potatoes and peas carrots and pearl onions. My sister got the meatloaf with green beans and carrots. The pomegranate martini excellent. The crème brûlée magnificent The only downfall the veggies. They were bland and felt like they were from a frozen bag.

While passing through town, we went to Trio with a group of friends who are regulars. Our server addressed them by first name and provided amazing service throughout our meal. Trio has a few gluten free items on their menu, and I was able to get the salmon by subbing sweet potato fries / veggies for the quinoa. Both were good, and the ketchup tasted fresh vs bottled. My partner got the chicken rigatoni, which he enjoyed. We would go again when visiting our friends.

Tried it again. Again, food was wonderful. Service was wonderful. But cleanliness was lacking.

I'm not one to leave negative reviews, but after my experience at Trio in Kenwood, I feel like I need to. Our night started out great! We had good drinks, a good appetizer (meatballs) and overall great experience up until that point. Once our entrees were brought out, I cut into my steak and could see it was obviously undercooked. It took a while for the waitress to come back around, but when she did, she said "does it look a little under?" To which we replied, YES. They took it back and refried it, but upon receiving the steak for the second time, I noticed it was STILL undercooked. The steak was sent back, brought back to the table for a third time and was now noticeably overcooked. I went ahead and ate the overcooked steak as my date was close to finished with her meal and I didn't want to make a scene. The manager came around at the end of our meal and asked about our experience so I showed the picture and he replied with "it looks a little under medium." At that point, I was ready to go.... THREE TIMES I received a filet at an inaccurate temperature to what I ordered. If you go to Trio, I'd recommend staying away from the Filet.... Unless they learn how to cook one properly.

Trio is such a great spot! We went for Valentine's Day dinner and it was packed. I would suggest getting a reservation. They do have bar seating where you can eat as well. They have multiple rooms for the space is quite big! They have a good list of wine and alcohol. I I wouldn't suggest the banana cream pie - it was different a few months ago and has changed since.

Celebrating we didn't get thrown out after 3 hour lunch (hint: it wouldn't have been a first)

Best place for lunch. Servers are the best. They respect your conversation. They remind me of those that served at the Masionette.

1. Parmesan-Crusted Pork Chop This plate came out looking…read moreserious. The pork chops had that golden, crunchy sear that lets you know the chef didn't cheat the pan. The crust is seasoned well, giving each bite a savory crunch before you hit the juicy center. The sauce on the bottom adds flavor but also runs a little thin, so it doesn't cling as much as you'd expect. The mashed potatoes are smooth, and those crispy fried onions on top add the right texture. Solid, comforting, and flavorful -- just needed a thicker reduction to tighten the plate. 2. Gnocchi with Braised Short Rib Sauce This dish is exactly what comfort food wants to be when it grows up. The gnocchi is soft, pillowy, and coated in a rich, slow-simmered sauce that tastes like somebody took their time building layers. You get a blend of tomato, parmesan, herbs, and that short rib flavor that carries the whole bowl. It's heavy -- in a good way -- and every bite feels like fall weather in a bowl. Definitely one of the stronger dishes. 3. Parmesan-Crusted Chicken with Green Beans & Tomato Relish The chicken is fried to that perfect "crisp but not greasy" level. The parmesan crust gives it a nutty, salty pop, while the tomato pieces add freshness to cut through the richness. The shredded parmesan on top melts just enough to tie everything together. The green beans are cooked right -- not soggy, still with a snap. The side dish (mac & cheese, most likely) is creamy with a buttery breadcrumb top that adds the right crunch. Overall, a well-balanced plate. 4. Spaghetti & Meatballs This is classic Italian comfort done the Cooper's Hawk way. The sauce is thick, tangy, and bright with tomato flavor. The meatballs are tender and seasoned well, and the touch of ricotta on top softens the acidity and makes the sauce creamy as you mix it in. The pasta is cooked right -- not mushy, not stiff, easy to twirl. Simple, hearty, and dependable. Overall Impression Cooper's Hawk came through with a table full of comfort and richness. Everything was plated well, seasoned properly, and cooked with intention. The standout dishes are the gnocchi and the parmesan-crusted chicken, but nothing on the table missed the mark.

We tried the Grilled Mahi sandwich ($17.99) and the Soup & Sandwich combo ($19.99). A glass of wine was $11 and a soft drink was $4.99. $70 with tax and tip. The term "upscale" seems to have become a euphemism for "more expensive than you thought it was going to be". I rated it 3 stars for several reasons. First, the food tasted very salty, almost to the point of us sending it back but we didn't because we had been waiting almost 30 minutes and were hungry. The slow service was reason two. Reason three was the price point. Five bucks for a coke? Twenty bucks for a soup and sandwich? The food was OK but the value just wasn't there. And reason four was the noise level. It was so loud I couldn't take an incoming cell phone call. Having said all that, they didn't seem to be hurting for business on a Friday afternoon so all I can say is it seems there are a lot of people out there who really like the place. If you're one of them, I think you'll find this Coopers Hawk a great place for lunch or dinner.

My friend and I split the house salad and WOW. A complete showstopper. So fresh, the vinaigrette was bright and delightful, and those fresh bacon bits? Chef's kiss. It's rare that a house salad stands out like that, but this one absolutely did. Now let's talk about the prime rib. I typically do not like steak or prime rib... but our waitress recommended it as the best thing on the menu, and honestly the Yelp photos had already convinced me. When I tell you it was BOMB -- I mean it. So tender. So flavorful. Perfectly cooked. Paired with broccolini and mashed potatoes, it was a whole experience. To end the night, we shared the apple tart with cinnamon ice cream -- warm, sweet, comforting, and the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. We are in town visiting and we went there for a nice meat meal after several days of dairy on the road. There were 6 of us at the table with 2 children. If I lived in town I would not be going back. They had 1 waitress working the entire place. She was kind enough but all she did was make excuses. We sat down at 6:15 and we did not get our hummus appetizer, which apparently they ran out of soon after, until 7:15. When we arrived there was only 2 tables occupied so it was not bustling. I am not sure how or why it took so long to prepare Hummus but given the ingredients I could have scratch cooked our entire meals in a fraction of that time. Again, when we arrived there were 2 other tables of 2 and maybe 1-2 small orders picked up during out time there. During our visit they had several more groups come in, some served before us, some getting the constant refrain, "we are out of this." It seems like there was 1 chef in the kitchen preparing all the food on their own. It is also highly problematic that they had 2 small children sitting there for an hour with not even a little bread or anything. We had to push the waitress to get the hot dogs out so they would calm down. As for the food, most of it was OK. The ribeye was properly cooked. The braised short rib was tender with a little wine flavor. The kids hot dogs were hot dogs. The chicken schwarma was flavorful. The Israeli salad was what you would expect. The green beans were overcooked, unseasoned and tasted like nothing. The worst and most impressive thing was how they got the mashed potatoes to taste like they came from a powder out of a box. I don't often leave something completely uneaten but they were inedible. How you can serve a $50 steak with such artificial swill is beyond me. I get it, they are the only option. Fail!

We decided to order nachos and a pretzel to start the meal. The pretzel was disgusting, hard and lacking flavor and the $14 nachos was a side plate with a small portion of nachos on it. I asked the server what was with the size of the nachos and he said he though they were normal. They aren't, you go to a normal bar and for $14 comes out a platter with nachos that are loaded. Then our mains came out, my wife's salad was gross, lacking flavor and with dry chicken and my burger was decent. For $90 this meal should have been WAYYY better. We left feeling very disappointed and will definitely not be coming back.
