MARINATED TOFU "POKE" BOWL BROWN RICE, TOFU, CUCUMBER, SNOW PEAS RADISH, SWEET POTATO, MUSHROOMS, EDAMAME, SEAWEED, SESAME SEEDS, SPICY MAYO
Scott N.

We had a 12:30 reservation on a Wednesday. The place was packed! Some folks talking among themselves as they walked out said there was a 30 minute wait. Thankfully as mentioned, we had reservations. We arrived first and the person seating us graciously showed me the way to the restroom (it was a bit of a hike). I had no idea there was so much space inside the restaurant. The menu was large and I changed my mind several times before ordering. Everyone at the table got something different with the exception of two that ordered the special of the day. Our server was kind and helpful, but I think she was a bit overwhelmed. We weren't in a hurry so it wasn't an issue. I ordered MARINATED TOFU "POKE" BOWL BROWN SHORT GRAIN RICE, MISO-SOY MARINATED TOFU, CUCUMBER, SNOW PEAS RADISH, SWEET POTATO, ENOKI MUSHROOMS, EDAMAME, SEAWEED SALAD, SESAME SEEDS, SPICY MAYO. Everything was chopped up nicely, which made eating it a breeze. It was a lot of food! It was also very flavorful. The spicy mayo, which wasn't spicy, helped all the ingredients come together. I could have stopped half way because I was approaching fullness, but I powered through and finished it all. And with all that, I did not leave feeling stuffed. Rather, I was pleasantly satisfied. Mark had KENWOOD BIBB & SPINACH, GOAT CHEESE, CRANBERRIES, PINE NUTS, ROMA TOMATO, HONEY POPPYSEED DRESSING and French Onion Soup. He found the salad fresh and the soup was beautiful, loaded with cheese and delicious. Someone ordered 1/2 Sandwich and Soup. She had the Reuben and the 1/2 sandwich was huge! Someone else ordered the Trio Club with broccoli. She enjoyed her meal. The two folks who had the special, four shrimp over eggplant Parmesan, were less than impressed. They said it was a little bland and dry. It could have used more sauce and a bit more Italian seasoning. Our dining experience overall was great and we would return.

Mexican Flatbread - good

Service was friendly and attentive. Ambiance is low lighting and soft music (on a Wednesday anyways). There was a bit of an old dishwater smell but it wasn't too bad. I ordered the special which was swordfish in a white sauce. My boyfriend ordered the Mexican flatbread, and my stepdad ordered the salmon. The table bread and butter was also good - warm bread and soft butter! The swordfish was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I enjoyed the sauce and the potatoes also. My stepdad said the same thing about his salmon. My bf and I also enjoyed the flatbread. It was crispy and plenty of chicken chunks. We were also glad the guac and sour cream was served on the side. The guac was a bit old but tasted ok. Overall we had a nice experience and would go back.

The food was great as always. The ambiance is a welcome addition. Even though it gets loud, the booths keep it comfortably quiet. Savannah was very attentive and cheerful. Wish they had more handicap parking. Very limited given the size of the establishment.

I received an e-mail advertising a Valentines Day Dinner menu, so my wife & I decided to try Trio on the day after. The first place we were seated was noisy, but the staff was able to move us to a quieter section. I thought my wife would go for the Crab Cakes, but we both got the Grouper with the Kenwood salad. The salad was very tasty. The dressing was nice. The grouper portion was on the small side. The rice and topping were tasty. We decided to try something else for dessert.

This place is right by the mall. Was a little pricy but very good food. I got the crab cake with noodles and my partner got the chicken pizza. And I got the coffee ice cream with brownie!

Trio has never disappointed. We went before seeing a show last week. The waiter was very attentive and very formal. We started with the deviled eggs which have a little bit of a kick to them, but not overly spicy. I ordered the French onion soup, which has always been very delicious there. It has a nice balance of broth and onions And very crispy on top. My daughter got the Mediterranean pizza. The ingredients on top made it nice mix of flavors and the cheese was fresh. My other daughter got the crabcake which was placed in a type of reddish sauce. Crabcakes were fairly large and made a decent meal. I wasn't able to try them, but she states they were delicious. Tree is always been very clean. They are efficient and getting people sat and waited on. They have ample parking.

I continue to enjoy dining at this establishment. Just an outstanding experience from the food to the service to the table we were seated by an open window on this beautiful weekend. The Naples salad is light, delicate and delicious with crab & shrimp. Just yum,

An amazing lunch experience today. Service was exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable and and warm. I ordered the salmon on a bed of orzo with perfectly cooked vegetables. The creame fraiche was unbelievable, the best I've ever had. For dessert, I selected the Bourbon Chocolate layer cake. It surpassed any expectation.

Seated right away. In the room farther back. Wasn't too full initially, but filled up by the time our food was served. Still not very noisy. So we had good conversation. FOOD!! I ordered a side Caesar salad to start. My wife ordered the Kenwood salad. Both were really good. Main dishes: I had the Trio burger, cooked medium. Lettuce , tomato, onion and their aoli sauce. Cooked perfectly! The tomato was tasty and thick. So many times you get a sliver of a tomato. Not this time! Wife had the seared salmon. Good size portion and very good, she was very happy with it. Our friends had the Jumbo lump crab cake and pasta and the Lemon chicken with mushrooms. Both were very happy with their selections. Desserts!! I had the Double Chocolate brownie with coffee ice cream! Very good! (I'm a chocoholic!!) my wife had the creme brulee, quite happy with it! Service was great! (Sorry, I forgot the young lady's name) but she was attentive, offered up some good suggestions and checked back periodically. Nice job! Overall, definitely recommend Trio Bistro.

The space is great for a date night or family outing. They have plenty of large tables for big groups which is nice. The hostess was very nice and gave us a couple of options regarding where we could sit. The server did a good job and the manager made sure the tables were taken care of when the server was very busy (filling my water, grabbing empty plates, etc.). My fiancé got the peach Bellini which was so good! We started out with the BBQ chicken flatbread and goodness it was so good that it has me wanting to try the rest of the pizzas/flatbreads. For entrees, I got the omelet with breakfast which was pretty good, nothing amazing. My fiancé got the eggs Benedict with ham and WOW it was amazing! Definitely the star of the meal. Overall, it was a good experience with delicious food. We will be back to do lunch/dinner here!

Crème brulee

We went here for restaurant week and it was very good. First of all the restaurant is very big and it's very pretty. A little noisy but nice. We ordered the red wine braised short rib with horseradish mash potatoes and peas carrots and pearl onions. My sister got the meatloaf with green beans and carrots. The pomegranate martini excellent. The crème brûlée magnificent The only downfall the veggies. They were bland and felt like they were from a frozen bag.

Sweet potato fries

While passing through town, we went to Trio with a group of friends who are regulars. Our server addressed them by first name and provided amazing service throughout our meal. Trio has a few gluten free items on their menu, and I was able to get the salmon by subbing sweet potato fries / veggies for the quinoa. Both were good, and the ketchup tasted fresh vs bottled. My partner got the chicken rigatoni, which he enjoyed. We would go again when visiting our friends.

I also LOVE the setup here. You pay first, get your food second, and everything just seems to run smoothly. No unnecessary waiting around trying to figure out what's going on. My wife and I usually rotate between the pancakes, the hash, the Northstar Burger, or the potato hash. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with any of them. The food is always fresh, portions are good, and everything comes out looking like somebody actually cared about what they put on the plate. We probably go once or twice a week, especially for brunch. At this point, Northstar is basically family. And if you're like us and pretty picky about where you eat, this is definitely one that gets the stamp of approval. Great food, good atmosphere, and consistently solid service. One more thing: I believe they play jazz after 6 PM Monday through Friday, which is always a nice little bonus. Overall, definitely recommend if you're looking for good food with a nice ambiance. Northstar has a permanent spot in our rotation!

She made us feel completely comfortable and truly made an already wonderful meal even better. Exceptional service from beginning to end! The restaurant itself is adorable, modern, beautifully decorated, and has a lovely patio. But the service and food completely stole the show. We ordered several appetizers, including the bruschetta, fried green tomatoes, corn and ricotta dip, and pimento croquettes. I'm VERY picky, and I genuinely wouldn't change a single thing. Every dish was flavorful, perfectly balanced, beautifully presented, and cooked exactly right. The bruschetta was so good that we ordered a second round! The fried green tomatoes were perfectly crisp with a delicious sauce, and the pimento croquettes were crispy on the outside, creamy inside, and paired perfectly with the sauce and pickles. The corn and ricotta dip was delicious as well. Nothing was too salty, under-seasoned, overcooked, or missing anything. The flavors were spot-on across the board. For dessert, we had the peach butter cake with everything on the side. The cake was delicious on its own and even better with the ice cream. It's rare to try so many dishes and not want to change a single thing, but that was the case here. The food was top-notch, and Olivia truly made the experience. To start this place is a "sit down" but you have to order at the bar and they bring it to you. We were a tad thrown off with that since they literally had waiters and people roaming around, didn't make sense to me. But that was just the start! We decided to order nachos and a pretzel to start the meal. The pretzel was disgusting, hard and lacking flavor and the $14 nachos was a side plate with a small portion of nachos on it. I asked the server what was with the size of the nachos and he said he though they were normal. They aren't, you go to a normal bar and for $14 comes out a platter with nachos that are loaded. Then our mains came out, my wife's salad was gross, lacking flavor and with dry chicken and my burger was decent. For $90 this meal should have been WAYYY better. We left feeling very disappointed and will definitely not be coming back.
