Completely Impressed with the menu!!! The entree named after the restaurant does not disappoint! Absolutely tasty red fish and dirty rice! Also, it's so smart to grill okra! Loved it! read more

Seafood I s fresh. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Platter which comes with fries and sweet cold slaw. You select your table, order at a counter, give your table number to cashier, and food is brought to your rabble. Place is small and noisy. read more

I've been wanting to come here for a while and I always think of it on a Friday night and it's just too busy. Came tonight on a Wednesday and it was busy but not crazy so. I ordered their signature dish, Tricky Fish, with Salmon and it was perfect!! I even forgave them for pairing it with okra. The dirty rice was made exactly right. They did New Orleans proud. I'm definitely going back and I'll have to try a dessert. read more

The red fish, gumbo, and jambalaya here are very good. This place definitely has a more modern take on food. The place is nice and big with outdoor seating. Also has a nice size bar inside. The servers are always nice! Definitely a 10/10 recommendation. read more

We had a great time yesterday. The food was great and service was excellent! Damian S. provided us a great customer service. He went well and beyond the typical service one gets at a restaurant. There were 6 of us with differing requests at the same time but he was patient and attentive. One thing that tops it all was that he accommodated our request for coffee even though the weekend brunch has ended for a while - that was unexpected and very much appreciated! Our friends and family had a great time due in part to the great food and excellent service! This place is a must go place for both food and service! read more

Probably the best shrimp and oysters I have ever gotten in the Metroplex. The waitstaff is the best and make you feel at home and welcome. I would recommend it to anyone. read more

This place is awesome I love going here especially when the virus isn't going on I hope everyone is staying safe and enjoying their quarantine God bless you take care read more

Service sucked. The hosts and staff were rude. Not by the way they talked to me but the way they acted about having to seat me at a table for 4 when I was the only one sitting there. I didn't even finish my lunch because of the constant looks and glances at their watches when they noticed I was looking back at them. Food was okay. I won't be back because of service. read more

Stopped in an hour before close time for some drinks and an appetizer. Sat outside on the sidewalk patio which had a couple flat screen tv's outside for our entertainment. I love this location in the CityLine neighborhood here in Richardson, lots of restaurants around here but Tricky Fish stood out to me as it's almost near the entrance and one of the first restaurants you see when pulling into the plaza on the right. I had the Fried green tomatoes and whew! They were awesome. Probably the best I've had this far since moving to Texas almost two years ago. The crunchy-ness was on point, fried just right. It had some shrimp on top and a white sauce drizzled some the row of tomatoes... I can't remember what they call it but it was the perfect mix of flavors. For drinks, My date had an old fashioned which was poured over dry ice and I enjoyed a Moscow mule. They know how to make their cocktails here and I can tell by how crowded the bar area on the inside was. The waitress let us know that they are now serving brunch on the weekends so I can't wait to get back here to try that! read more

I've eaten the shrimp po boy and the gumbo, both are delicious and a good price for the quantity! The service is great most of the time but sometimes specific servers start having awkward small talk with me at my table, and I mostly come here for my lunch break so I just want to be left alone. That's not enough to stop me from coming here though so in the future I'll just come with at least one other person, lol read more

I popped in on May 1st. I had a couple of mispronounce brews with the fried green tomatoes appetizer. Excellent! The next day, I came back with my girlfriend. We had a few micro brews, peel and eat shrimp, fish and chips, and fried seafood. It was all great as was the service! Thank you for opening in spite of the foolish political stunt that closed businesses in the first place. read more

Tricky Fish is a great option for dining in the CityLine area. Not a huge menu, but still plenty of choices. They have a crawfish etouffee that is awesome, spicy enough to get your attention but not overpowering. Comes with tasty fresh toasted bread if you request it. The shrimp and grits is also very good. With half price wine all Wednesday night this place is a great way to take a break in the middle of the work week. read more

Overpriced for what you get. Nice service. A salad with no protein costing $10 is uncalled for.

The place was very clean and the help was very polite. Food was average in my opinion. I had a Po' Boy and the bread was average and it needed more sauce. My wife had a platter and she liked it very well. They have a very complete bar. Food came out in an appropriate time. read more

TRICKY FISH was the Best Meal I had the whole time I was in Texas!!! The service was over the top! We sat on the sidewalk table with our 2 dogs. They were given large dishes of ice water and hamburger patties that were delicious. Yes we tested them for salt & hot seasonings, none was founded. My salmon was so good I wished I could have eaten another. The mash potatos were also wonderful, Not Instant. GO! EVEN IF IT'S OUT OF YOUR WAY, IT'S WORTH IT!! OH, THE Prices were very reasonable. read more

Excellent food and customer service. We came here for the first time on a Sunday for lunch. It wasn't super busy and we were greeted quickly. So the process is, you get your ticket with your table number at the door, go to the cash register and order/pay, fill your own drinks and then go to your table to wait for them to bring your order. We got the calamari, tricky fish plate and the fish of the day, which was salmon. The calamari were delicious and came with fried banana peppers that set it off perfectly. My tricky fish entree (complete with blackened tilapia, crawfish etouffe and dirty rice actually tasted like someone straight from Louisiana made it! So full of flavor. My mom loved her salmon, which came with this really yummy herb butter sauce. Also, I've gotta applaud the young men who were working this day. The customer service was absolutely phenomenal. Seriously some of the best restaurant service I've had. My favorite part was that everything was very reasonably priced, which is definitely a rarity when it comes to seafood. I will definitely be back to try different things! read more

The food was excellent! I ordered the crawfish etouffee and it did not disappoint. The flavors and seasoning were on point. Deep flavor with just the right amount of spice. Loved the service as well. We ate dinner here last night, and we loved the casual atmosphere, great service and delicious food. We had the blue cheese chips, which were the best I've had ! For entrees, we had the Fried fish and chips and the BBQ Shrimp - both were excellent. Even though we were stuffed, we still found room for the yummy banana pudding that had a hint of rum in it. Delish! read more

Brunch was ok. We liked the "DIY Mimosa bar." Kind of limited on the brunch options. No hash browns but they do have breakfast potatoes.

First time guest. Ordered the pick three with blackened catfish, fried shrimp, and crawfish bites. The seasoned french fries are amazing and crispy. The tarter sauce has a nice little bite. The blackened catfish was well seasoned and flaky. The crawfish bites were great. The cole slaw is bland. The calamari was okay but the sauce that came with it was great. I ordered a filthy cherry margarita and it was perfect. Not too sweet and not too tart. The crawfish etoufee was just okay. Our personal waitress wasn't very attentative but there were multiple waiters that came by to check on us so that was really nice! I would definitely come back again. read more

Came here on a Sunday for lunch. No wait. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered two dozen oysters as starters. Good price for the oyster size. I got the blackened salmon with okra sub instead of rice and Crawfish Etouffee. The sauce they had put on the salmon taste weird so I just scraped it off. The etouffee was too salty for my taste. The bread that comes with the meal was good though. Overall, staff was very attentive and the food can be a bit expensive depending on what you're getting. read more

I had Grilled Shrimp Mac&Cheese last night. It was really good! Creamy and tasty Definitely the Best Mac&Cheese I've ever had in Dallas The place and people are super nice there. Oh, and I forgot to mention that there's a bar area with large screen on the top that u can enjoy sports game & wide range of beer with fiends. read more

Disappointed with my experience at Tricky Fish. After seeing all the good reviews, I figured my first time eating here would be a safe bet. After looking over the menu and wanting to try something new, I went with the "Tricky Fish". The entree name fit the description well of what was yet to come. The trickery started once the inexperienced waiter misled me stating that I couldn't substitute the side order of okra for something different. According to him, the okra was not a side to begin with, implying it was some sort of topping or garnish. What bro? It came out taking up a third of my plate, being mostly burned and inedible. The entree included blackened tilapia, crawfish etoufee, and dirty rice. Both the tilapia and dirty rice lacked flavor and tasted bland. Didn't even get through half of my meal before I threw in the towel. Hopefully they just had a bad night. Next time I'll try a simpler menu item. 3 stars because the fried shrimp and fries were good. read more

Met a friend for lunch on a weekday afternoon. The place was not very crowded; it was after the lunch rush. But, from the staff that greeted us at the door, to the guy that took our order, to every other person that passed our table, the people were friendly, asked about our food and if there was anything they could get us. Fish and Chips were great! Fresh, flaky fish, li'l skinny fries (my faves) and crunchy slaw. We'll definitely be back! read more
