Our a/c went out the middle of June. It was not repairable. Our unit was 14 years old. Furnace was 20+ years old. We got quotes from a couple places and Tri-Tech by far was the best and the easiest to work with. Ansen was awesome. Very responsive when we had questions. Kim was also amazing. Very responsive as well and helpful with getting things scheduled. Our installers (I think Josh and Quentin maybe - it was early and I was still waking up) did an amazing job including making us aware of a possible issue with some wires in our crawl space. Called and made an appointment for a basic service for our HVAC system. Tech showed up early and upon checking told me the heat pump was in dire need of cleaning. The tech showed me every step of his process and answered all questions. Based on his thoroughness, I strongly believe he added several years to my heat pump and HVAC system. Had them out for a routine maintenance. Gas fireplace was sooting up weekly. They sent out a new guy who was puzzled as what to do. He called and we waited for his supervisor. They scratched heads and cleaned it and left .... said they would have to have us schedule a more In Depth appt. Was not impressed. 6 months later I had a plumbing issue. The guy I called also did gas fireplaces. As an aside I asked him about the sooty fireplace. Took him literally 15 seconds to tell me it was burning dirty and took his leatherman tool, opened up the air valve so it burned properly. Problem solved. No charge. I called Tri Teck, in Vancouver, WA, and they came out Aug 4, 2022 to check for low freon, on my air conditioner. The tech, Jack, said that I had a bad capiciter. He replaced it and said that you have plenty of freon and no need to recharge the unit. I was charged $149.00 for the service fee and Jack told me the capiciter wouild cost $165. I looked at my billing statement and charged me $188 instead o$165 dollars. Not good, bad mistake on his part. I went on line and found that the capacitor only cost $22. That is 9 times over the cost of this capacitor for my unit thru Amazon and other stores. What a rip off. I am a rertired 22 year USAF veteran and senior citizen who has been overcharged 9 times over the price of capacitor which is price gauging to Americans who need help not to be abused by local companies in Vancouver, WA. I am contacting the Attorney General to see if he can stop his mal practice in our state. What an embarassment on my part to be husseled by a local company supported by the locals who need help. read more

When I built this home, it had a tankless water heater as standard equipment. I had always wanted one and love it. I got a quick call after contacting them, along with a quote for the service, and scheduled an appointment. The technician called when he was on his way, as promised. He was alert to the discrepancy between zip code and address he was given and found out my address had been incorrectly entered, so he arrived at the right place instead of across the city. I picked this company based on reviews. Apparently I got a marginal technician on a bad day. Two weeks before Christmas I had the gas company come out to inspect my gas fireplace which wasn't working. The inspector said he couldn't keep the pilot lit and I probably needed a sensor and infighter. I called Tri-Tech (Try-Tech?) and requested service on the 12/23/2015. I arranged to have my son here from 8-4 as requested by Tri-Tech. At about 9:30 Andrew from Tri-Tech arrived and spent about 30 minutes opening the fireplace and determining we indeed needed a sensor and igniter. So far so good. He charged $96 and change for the service call and left to go pick up parts. Just before noon Andrew called my son and said he was about 15 minutes out and on his way. Fair assumption: Parts had been secured since nothing else was mentioned. Four hours later I arrived home about 4:15 pm and discuss these events with my son. Nothing had happened after the call from Andrew just before noon. What? Nothing? Seriously? I called Tri-Tech and spoke to someone who's name I don't remember asking what was up with Andrew. Had he been in an accident? Was he OK? What's going on? I was told she would check and call me back. About five minutes later Andrew calls and says he can't locate the part and a part house will have to order from the manufacturer. He will get back to us on Monday. No other explanation as to why it took over four hours to get us this information. I call Tri-Tech and spoke with Kim and explain I'm not happy having wasted my son's day and having the tech here for only 30 minutes and no other communication all day. She says she will look into it and call me back. About ten minutes later I receive a call from Jeremy at Tri-Tech explaining what Andrew already told us. No parts available and must be ordered from the manufacturer. I tell Jeremy the guy from the gas company said exactly the opposite; simple repair and should be no big deal. Jeremy tells me gas company people are not technicians and are unqualified to make such statements. Nothing said about the disappearance of Andrew from around 10:00 until after 4:00. No apology for the breakdown in communication. Instead I receive what felt like a lecture on how unique my fireplace was and how difficult it is to find parts, yadda, yadda, yadda. On the plus side when I asked Jeremy to back off the credit card charge for the service call and cancel my service request, Jeremy said OK and hung up on me. He just called back and I asked if he was going to hang up on me again and he denied he hung up on me on the first call. Maybe he is right and I'm overly sensitive. Jeremy called to say the credit card had not been run so there was nothing to back out. I said thank you and goodbye. Here is my take on all of this: Businesses no longer rely on repeat business. Called Tri Tech because our gas fireplace was not working. They sent out a repair person. He told us we needed a Pilot Assembly. They charge $109.00 just to show up and then $160.00 per hour for labor. They charged us another $165.00 for the pilot assembly. I looked online for the exact same part that would have cost me $50.00 to $80.00. They gouged us on the part which I'm sure they pay much less for than I would if I bought it from Amazon. I was very satisfied with this company all around. Dan Smith came out gave me a quote quickly, they redid my entire outdated filter system as well for a very fair price. They worked with me on financing the whole project and then when it came to my actual appointment date, they were quick efficient and thorough. I called Tri Tech a few weeks back schedule a regular maintenance for my furnace , I was quoted $109.00 over the phone and scheduled it for 11/12 . A week after that call 11/4 my furnace stopped working so I called for a technician to come out and fix it and was quoted $189 because its off hours , the tech came out and said the transformer needs to be replaced and said part was $205 .00 He changed it in 15 minutes and my total bill was $426.00,( I checked on amazon for that part and the most expensive i could find was $32 , so $205.00 was a huge mark up , but i needed it done so paid their asking price . He also said that my control board may need to be replaced soon as it was old but still working ok , The tech said i still needed to do the maintenance that i had originally scheduled as he could not do it then , about four days later my furnace stopped working again so I call their off hours line on Saturday. 11/9 Their tech called me shortly after and I told him i had the transformer replaced 4 days ago and my furnace stopped working . I also told him I had an appointment for 11/12 for a maintenance . He suggested I wait until then so the tech could check it out at no charge as it was a warranty check . The tech came today the 12th and my furnace was working again before he got here . He said there was a loose plug in the control board which may have been the problem . Anyway he did the maintenance and gave me the bill ( my quote was $109.00 ) he was charging me $159 for the maintenance and $50 for looking at the reason why my furnace might have caused the problem . Total charge was $209 plus tax . Big difference from the original $109 quote . I called their office and after arguing my case they reluctantly said they would drop the $50 look charge .I suspect they over charge people alot and hope the customers never dispute the added cost . Wonder how many customers they rip off everyday .These are the facts . Do yourself a favor do NOT use this company they will not honor their quotes and will over charge for their parts by up to 600% . Total rip off . I will never use this company again . read more

Edit: I was able to talk to the owner and reduce the bill to just the first visit for $194. I contacted Tri-Tech (more like TRY-TECH?) heating to repair my tankless water heater that stopped working. They showed up and cleaned the water heater; charging me $194. They said it was fixed, but after they left we discovered it was not fixed. so I called them back and requested that they return and fix the problem without a trip charege. They returned a second time at 5:30 PM and said it was my plumbing pipes (obviously not true, the technician was tired and wanted to go home). So they returned again and ordered a bunch of parts (ground shipping- did I mention I have no hot water?, Yes expedited was available..). The parts didnt fix the problem, either. But they did send me another bill of $282.69. So I guess after having no hot water for myself and my family for 3 (THREE!!!!) weeks and $476.94 later, I still have NO HOT WATER. So I called two other plumbers, both qualified to service tankless Rinnia water heaters and they BOTH stated that this water heater was broken beyond repair and I should not waste money on having it serviced and buying parts. I can provide contact info of these two other plumbers if needed. Also, I later found out that my home owner insurance will cover the cost of a new water heater so these plumbers have nothing to gain in telling me to replace the water heater. They could have tried to bleed me dry as well. On another note, I called the customer service to complain and they hung up on me and when I asked for an email address they said "no thank you" and hung up on me twice. When I discussed this issue with the very rude front desk girl she said that the only reason that they ordered parts to replace the water heater was because I told them to. Really? read more

BRRR! My fireplace decided not to work during winter-cold and windy nights. The Washougal-local fireplace guy had a three week lead time. I called Tri-Tech on a Friday late afternoon and got a Monday a.m. service call. WOW! My service tech was very polite, clean (no soot on my white carpet) and very professional. We needed to replace part of our old heating system. Dan (Sales) came out and suggested a new Mitsubishi system. Bob & Zack did the install. I'm very happy with the system but mainly wanted to review Bob's (and Zack's) workmanship. Bob takes pride in his work and it shows. The install looks like a professional did the work and Bob is a professional. The system was not cheap but because of Bob's work I'm very happy with the results. The entire team (Dan, Jeremy, Bob, Zach and Kim) that I dealt with did a great job, but it was the quality of the install that made it a great job. This company doesn't stand but their work, my heat pump bangs loudly when it gets cold outside, so much so it will make you jump out of your seat. They have come out to service it with no resulation, no return call from owner or boss to fix this problem. Shouldn't have to spend $8,000 and not have heat pump work properly. read more

He cleaned the fireplace glass so well it was transparent after he was done with it. He discovered a leaking hose and fixed that, as well as checked all the usual components and recommended the necessary remedies. He also ended up maintaining another fireplace during the same visit. Got home from to smell gas, called the gas co and Tri Tech who told me it was not their fault but would repair it for additional cost. Hmm funny that they are the only ones who touched the fireplace since we moved in. Very good service. First guy was good but didn't quite know how to do something so another guy came out a few days later and addressed the situation; this is all fine by me. As far as I can tell they technically did a fine job, charged very reasonably, knew how to do their job, discussed options for repair/replace, discussed realistic maintenance requirements. The people I met seemed honest and hard working. I scheduled them to call me every 2 years for routine maintenance.
