Hired KOVA to replace the damaged flexible ductwork in my crawlspace with rigid ductwork. The work required two techs at some points to get the work done in two days. The work was not cheap but the quality seemed good and certainly worth doing after our crawl space had a few rodents intrude. We have noticeably improved airflow in the house and hopefully removed the opportunity for future intruding rodents to access and damage the ductwork if they happen to get inside the crawl again. read more

20 year old system, failing often. We decided to replace the furnace and the AC. David stopped by to check out the space, talk about our needs, and to gather info and measurements to provide a quote. One of many quotes we received, David was quick to answer questions, offer advice, and provided updated bids as we made our final purchasing decisions. We went with an American Standard Platinum Heat pump and variable speed 80 furnace. Looking at our energy usage, we went for the high end A/C unit (a heat pump is basically an AC unit that can switch direction and also heat). The Feds are offering some nice tax incentives to spring for the higher cost heat pump, so we bit the bullet and went for it. Final bid was delivered on May 25th. The system was installed and running by June 9th. Great team, uncovered some water damage to the lower ducts from the failing older system. Added cost for parts and labor to replace were fair. Job was done quickly, and professionally. We highly recommend Kova, will update as we roll through Summer. read more

I have to say I went with this company based on these reviews on yelp. My recent experience has been awful! From communication break downs (one person sending me an invoice to pay which wasn't correct to another telling me they would be there at a time and home office sending me a different time) to not doing the work properly. I decided to not fix my current furnace. I went with a brand new one. The technicians they had installing it were different than the original guy who diagnosed the problem. The technicians installing couldn't figure out how to get the inside thermostat reconnected. Another guy came out the next day to do it. Then a third day the came out to do more wiring and the technician couldn't connect a final wire (he had done 6 out of 7 and told my tenant that is good enough. That no one really uses the blower fan). So now I'm in day 4 and the original technician is supposed to becoming out to go in the crawl space to connect the final wire but when I got confirmation, it again was a different technician scheduled. This company just doesn't know what they are doing and I have no confidence in that the work was done right. Keep away from them! read more

TL;DR: I was lucky to have Alex service the furnace. He's skilled, thorough, and not afraid fact check to understand the system inside and out in order to give the correct advice and recommendations. I had few technicians come here, examine the system and tell me that I need to replace my furnace. When I ask them technical questions, no body could give me an honest/objective reason why I should replace it, but Alex was able to help me understand the system, and give me pros and cons of replacing it now or few years later. I really appreciated that. Kova is definitely not the cheapest out there, but I'd gladly use them for anything HVAC related services. I just had routine maintenance done and as far as I can tell, they did a good job. I was a little surprised that the lead technician said the cost to add freon to my older unit runs $300-$400 per pound because it has been phased out. He didn't mention that there is a replacement for about $50 per pound. Also, he checked my system to add a second vent in our family room and said the office would send me a price, but I never got one. Both technicians were very nice. Tim read more

Julian texted to confirm when he would arrive at my house, found the problem but did not have the part in his truck. My ductless AC/heat unit was not working and with the temps dipping into the 40's, my house was starting to get chilly. I put a broad range of feelers out on Yelp and Kova responded with a same day appointment. They sent Sam out that afternoon to take a look. Sam was early to my scheduled time, gave me a few ideas of what could be the problem, and got to work. It turns out I needed a part replaced and Sam said it would have to be ordered but their warehouse was able to find the part I needed. Sam went to go pick it up, came back and installed it. Excellent value and super nice people. They worked with us to come up with a HVAC setup that was both affordable and highly energy efficient. Our new furnace is already making the house feel much more comfortable. They were the only company out of the 4 quotes we received that was even willing to tackle our idea of adding a damper system to zone our 3 story home. I highly recommend KOVA. (Only one note of caution if you are adding new components to your HVAC system...get quotes for electrical before you commit to buying new systems...none of the HVAC companies we spoke to included electrical in their quotes. Kova installed a new AC unit after our compressor burned out because of a freon leak. The owner David was great and came out within a few days even after the craziness of the week it was 115 degrees. He was able to procure a unit rather quickly and get it installed within about 4 weeks which was great timing considering the current HVAC market. I was fed up with my prior hvac contractor, so I tried KOVA, they're much more professional, scheduling is followed up with email confirmations of appointment, who's coming and scope of work. They get in and get the job done the correct way. If they see something wrong ( I had a fireplace vent not properly fire proofed) they point it out, while some subs would ignore others work.
