Awesome place, family run and operated and you can tell they care. Food is simple but well executed. This place is popular and can get busy so I try to go to lunch around 11:15 or 11:30 so I beat the rush. I have had the carnitas and they are EXCELLENT. The Ruben sandwich passed my test (I am a Reuben fan and find too many other places screw them up) Trendy's Reuben is awesome. Garlic fries are great too! There is also some sort of Panko breaded and fried muffin ala mode dessert that is a must have as well. GO TO Trendy's, you wont be disappointed! read more

This place was fantastic!!! We were on our way back home from Shasta and wanted brunch. We came in around 1:30pm, about 30 minutes before they close for the afternoon, and they were more than happy to still have us come. Everything on the menu looked good and I almost ordered something that I would never order, because it looked so amazing. Me and my husband ended up ordering the same thing, and it was WOW!!! We had the pancake, eggs, sausage patty and breakfast potatoes. Everything was so great! I normally don't eat breakfast potatoes, but I finished almost all of them. It was a good price, especially for the amount of food they gave us. The portions were large and we both didn't finish our entire plates. If you are in town, make sure to stop here!!!! Was fishing a bass tournament out of bridge bay marina and on our way out this is one of the places we were recommended. At first driving up to find this place was kinda hidden but don't let that fool you. You walk in and you feel like everyone is family and on top of that the food was amazingly delicious. Redding, Ca is not usually known for great eating places but Trendy's is doing everything right to change that perception. The restaurant is clean, service is fast and the food is high quality and generally delicious. The garlic country potatoes will please just about everyone and I am sure that most will enjoy their version of country gravy (although that is the one item I will not order again...probably better for my heart that way...LOL). Next time you are hungry for breakfast or lunch (they are not open for dinner) you could not do any better in Redding. read more

Amazing Breakfast!! My friend was visiting from out of town and I didn't feel like cooking. We didn't want to go to your average Denny's or chain restaurant. This place ended up being an amazing find. My friend and I decided to get 2 breakfasts and share them. Their special was the pumpkin french toast - it was like a light pumpkin bread with dabs of pumpkin and whipped cream. Sooo good! And then we had eggs, bacon, potatoes and a griddle pancake. The pancakes are made with sweet cream, so they are sweet by themselves, but maple syrup was the best. They heat their syrups, so that was a very nice touch. The bacon is thick and crunchy. The coffee is premium grade and they had buckets of creamer so you didn't have to continually ask for it. The decor is a fun with charming black/white/red and polka dot table cloths. They have nice attention to detail and are quick to serve. Very friendly folks too!! I love supporting local -- and this place I will visit again often, even by myself!! read more

I absolutely love this place! My husband and I were passing through Redding and needed our own fuel for the long drive home. When I googled breakfast spots "Trendy's" came up on our radar. When arriving, I notice a little restaurant with lots of parking (I personally love available parking) when we walked in, the staff greeted us with huge smiles and bubbly personalities. We found seating in the back room. I scanned the decor and completely fell in love! It was simple but catchy, a business but homey! Trendy definitely fits this place well! You can tell the owner designed this place with love! Along with the decor, you have a awesome menu. I could not make up my mind. Each and every plate sounded completely fire and made my mouth water. I settled with the breakfast burrito with a fruit bowl and my husband had the "chorizo con maiz". No long wait for our plates and the food exceeded our expectations! I believe the owner is in the restaurant hands on. I was surprised when I was told she had the cook rewrap my burrito because it had a crack. Anyhoo, this establishment goes above and beyond to accommodate their customers! I cannot wait to go back! read more

I had business in Redding and had to have early breakfast. I chose Trendy's since they open at 6AM. I am so glad I did. Their coffee is so tasty!!! I find most places are cautious and tend to serve weak coffee. Even though the coffee was bold it was not bitter and had plenty of taste. The egg chorizo was very tasty and the pancake was just right and not lumpy. This family owned business is doing things right. read more

The band I play in was heading north from a wedding we played and Tyler found this gem online so we decided to stop in for a treat. The servers were so kind to us, they literally catered us above and beyond our expectations:) The food was amazing as well! The presentation was on point and tasted as good as it looked. The chef came out and asked us if we knew a local musician and was a really cool guy, I can't say enough good things about this restaurant...the only down side to this experience is that I live in Portland and can't be a regular here. My family and I were driving back from our vacation at Shasta Lake. We stopped at Trendy's for brunch and had a great experience. All of the employees were extremely nice and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and put together. The parking lot of Trendy's was very big, so we were able to fit our trailer well. We ordered chicken strips, chicken sandwiches, an omelette, and fruit. All of the food was delicious. They do not fry any of their foods. The fruit and the chicken was all very fresh. The pancake and the omelette was very good as well. All together, the bill was not too expensive. After we left, my family and I were still talking about how good it was. I will definitely be back to Trendy's the next time I am in Redding. read more

I had breakfast here and it was wonderful! First, the place just opened after a remodel. It is clean and bright and uncluttered. The old exterior bathrooms have moved indoors, thank goodness. The place is all family-run, and very friendly. For my meal, I had the senior mushroom omelet, mostly because the regular 4-egg omelet seemed too big, not really because I'm a senior (ahem). It was filled with sautéed fresh mushrooms and cheese, and it was rich and sumptuous. It came with chosen sides of country potatoes which were very good, and a home made biscuit that was light and flaky. I can only imagine the heaven it would be smothered in country gravy, but I had mine with butter and honey and loved it. I had a side of bacon that was done to perfection. I can't stress this enough - it is extremely difficult to get bacon that is cooked properly, and this was it. The coffee was deep and dark, but not bitter or burnt. This breakfast was the best I've had in many years! I can't wait to try all of the other things on the menu. There is a panko-crusted French toast that sounds intriguing, and of course I want to try all of the lunch items, too. I wish these people many years of success, because I'm coming here every time I'm in town! read more

Wow! My husband and I haven eaten at Trendy's at least once a week for months and I was really looking forward to having Mother's Day breakfast there. We got there early expecting that we would have to wait. I went in to put my name on the list, passing by several large parties waiting near the door. Inside, I saw a small table for two along the wall. While I was looking at it, a large, overbearing man with a ponytail said "You can't sit there. You have to put your name on the list." That wasn't unexpected so I gave him my name and looked at the list. We were number three or four in line and all of the parties before us were five or six people. I asked if we could have the table for two since they were no parties of two ahead of us. Ponytail man leaned over me and said menacingly, "What do you want me to do? Start throwing people out?" Yikes! I don't think anyone deserves that kind of sarcasm. Talk about poor customer service. I asked how long the wait would be and he growled, "At least 30 minutes." At that point my heart started pounding because I actually felt physically intimidated by him. By that time my husband had parked the car and come in. I started to walk out and he could tell I was rattled. I went to the car to cool down and told him what happened. His opinion was that Trendy's does not want our business and we were not going to eat there. Ever again. We left and went down the street to Sweeties. They were every bit as busy, but graciously made a point to accommodate us as soon as they could. The servers were running to fill orders, yet all in a cheerful mood; everyone was smiling and wishing people Happy Mother's Day. The food was served quickly and tasted fantastic. I had a happy, relaxed Mother's Day breakfast and left with a smile on my face. Trendy's food is very good, but eating at Sweeties made me realize how tense and rushed Trendy's can be. There have been times when we gobbled down our food because it seemed we were expected to give somebody else the table. Perhaps that's the price of success. Whatever. In any case, from now on, I think it will be Sweeties for us. read more
