It's another one of those places that you are not sure about when you arrive. But it had good reviews so we went in and I'm glad we did. Service was wonderful. I couldn't believe how much food we got on our plates. My husband had the corned beef hash with a biscuit and I had the steak breakfast tacos. I brought most of the potatoes home and had them the next day. The coffee was great as well.

Thank you for the birthday surprise pancakes. The food and service are always amazing!

Trendy's is my go to place for brunch. I'm addicted to their steak breakfast tacos. Thank you for surprising me with a birthday pancake. The flavor was so tasty I thought about the pancake during the day. The staff and food are wonderful.

We don't really have old-school diners with an authentic Americana quality in my city, so I was very interested in trying Trendy's during my stay in Redding. The servers were super friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and there was a steady stream of regulars while I was here. I was initially excited for my meal but the food wasn't to my taste. The menu states that classic plates and omelettes come with garlic herb potatoes and choice of toast, biscuit, or pancake. My corned beef hash plate ($16.50) was pretty lackluster and underseasoned. The corned beef was mushy and more fine textured than what I'm accustomed to. However, the potatoes in my hash were decently browned and my eggs were cooked over easy as requested. The pancake was fluffy and came with pats of salted butter, but the pancake itself tasted like it was made from a mix. A server kindly brought over some homemade mixed berry, strawberry, and mango jams that made the pancake more interesting to eat. The warmed bottle of syrup on the table was a thoughtful touch. I didn't get a side of garlic herb potatoes with my plate, so I asked a server about it and they said my corned beef hash was already made with potatoes so it wasn't included. Maybe the menu wasn't updated or there was a misunderstanding, but I do see that another user posted their corned beef hash plate which did come with the garlic herb potatoes. My dining companion ordered the "pearl waffle" plate ($13.50) which had 2 Liège style waffles, whipped cream, and fruit. I ate some of the waffle and enjoyed crunching on the pearl sugar. It was nice with a smear of jam. The waffles are pretty small so if you have a hearty appetite, you might want to order an additional side. They ordered some scrambled eggs ($4.50) to round out their meal and said the eggs were fine. I don't think I'll be coming back but I definitely see why it's a local favorite. It's just not the best breakfast place for me and that's okay! Some non-food details: friendly and efficient service, indoor and outdoor seating, and decent amount of onsite parking + street parking available if needed.

Had the BEST Monte Cristo I have EVER had! We're in Redding for the weekend and turned to Yelp to find a breakfast spot--so glad it led us to Trendy's! The reviews were spot on because Trendy's did NOT disappoint. I love a good Monte Cristo and have tried a lot of them, but this one is hands-down the best I've ever had. The ham and turkey tasted like something straight out of grandma's kitchen on a special holiday, the cheese was melted perfectly, and the bread-to-meat-to-cheese ratio was absolute perfection. The service was just as amazing--Alma, our waitress, suggested I try the mango jam with it. I was hesitant (I'm usually a berry jam girl), but WOW... it was so good I ended up taking some home! My husband ordered the BEN sandwich and said it was delicious. He also had the fresh-squeezed orange juice, which brought back sweet memories of his grandma making it for him in a little amber glass when he was younger. Portion sizes are generous, prices are fair, and parking was easy--which is always a win. If you're passing through or local to the area, make sure you stop by Trendy's for breakfast or brunch. There's a reason they have so many great reviews! *REVIEW UPDATE* It was so good the first time we went back today! My Husband had the steak tacos and said they were AMAZING! I have a sensitive tummy and sometimes finding a good mix of carbs and protein can be a challenge. I ordered just a scrambled egg and since the turkey in the Monte Cristo was so good I ordered turkey all by itself for an added little protein! Dipped it in their homemade jam of course! For my carbs I ordered a pancake. (Kind of apprehensive about that from a prior review I read...) that review was way off! If that pancake was from a box please let me know who makes it cause it was so fluffy and yummy! As we sat outside we saw many people come in and out and the employees greeted many of them by name! I almost wish I lived closer so I could be a regular too! Sorry no pics This time as we are before we thought about it!

Stopped in Redding for a night on our drive from the Bay Area to Seattle and this looked like a really solid brunch spot! It did not disappoint -- we ordered the chicken apple sausage as well as the California Breakfast Burrito with country potatoes. The chicken apple sausage was delicious, and I would definitely reorder if I came here again. My husband also loved his breakfast burrito, especially with the spicy salsa (they also have a mild option). He was a bigger fan of the country potatoes than I was. We also had the cinnamon swirl pancake and panko-crusted french toast on the side. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pancake as I found there were too many walnuts in it for me to enjoy, so I think next time I'd try their sweet cream pancake instead. The french toast was definitely a standout though and super unique. The panko crust added the perfect crunchy texture and the sourdough gave it a solid structure that held up well with both syrup and their house jams (I recommend trying the peach jam if it's in season!). Definitely don't miss out on the french toast! Overall would stop by again if I'm in the area.

Came here for breakfast after taking to Yelp to find a nice local spot that wasn't a mediocre chain. Trendy's was the highest rated breakfast spot, and had classics that everyone in the group would like, so Trendy's it was! We were helped by Mary, who was very friendly and gave great customer service! The food was talking a while because it was packed, so she brought out our pancakes a little early so we could have something to snack on while we waited for the rest. My boyfriend and I shared the Huevos con Chillies Omelet and Corn Beef Hash, with a biscuit as our side for one and a pancake for the other. Both breakfasts were good, with the corned beef hash being my favorite of the two. The portions were a good size to fill you up, and the prices reasonable. It was Father's Day, so the place was filled with families celebrating. Even though it was quite crowded, we only had about a 10 minute wait to get seated. They have seating inside and out, but Redding is hot, so we opted for inside - otherwise it would've been even quicker to get seated. This spot is pretty hidden and nowhere near the areas of Redding we frequent when visiting, so very glad I found them on Yelp!

We stopped by for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was warmly welcomed upon entering by one of the servers. She told us to grab an open table and someone would be with us shortly. Our server came over with in a few minutes and asked if we had looked at Menu and wanted to order: Our food arrived quickly looked amazing and tasted even better. If in the area, I highly recommend it.

Dope little breakfast diner with friendly service and solid food. We got both the norcal burrito and the breakfast tacos. The burrito was solid, but I'd HIGHLY recommend getting the breakfast tacos. Those were hella bomb. We also go the panko french toast, which I thought was decent. It was nothing special, just your standard french toast with panko breading, but still yummy. We went here on a Sunday morning around 1030ish and while it was a bit busy, definitely wasn't overcrowded and they had no problem with seating us promptly. There's plenty of parking as well, so that wasn't an issue. I'll definitely plan on coming back if I'm ever in the Redding area and wanting breakfast/brunch.

One of those small out of the way jewels that you find once in a while with absolutely amazing food and service! Huge portions! My wife had the Locomotive omelette. An egg omelette filled with meat, veggies and cheese, served with cottage potatoes and a biscuit bigger than a man's fist and their homemade jelly. My son had the Mt Shasta. A generous serving of scrambled eggs, mixed with ham, potatoes and cheese. Served with a pancake that was as big as a plate. He's a 17 year old and a big eater and could not finishe the whole thing. I had the Cortez with steak. Basically a bowl full of eggs mixed with corn tortillas (or Texas Migas) added steak that was amazingly tenders If you're in Redding this is the breakfast spot! We're talking about goi g back to try their burger!

Trendy's is a "hometown" diner serving breakfast and lunch. The staff make you feel right at home with welcoming smiles and attentive service. We sat outside to enjoy the morning sun, the for folding chairs they were comfortable, and the chairs and tables clean. The food was delicious, especially the omelette and the pancakes, syrup & butter (it was soft :) and easy to spread) are not necessarily needed- the pancake was light, fluffy, and buttery sweet. Whether you're a local or passing through Trendy's is a great choice and sure to become a favorite!!

We came here early on a Tuesday morning at 9am, it was just us and another party of two. A local mom and pop breakfast spot. Plenty of parking. Our server was nice and sweet and attentive. We ordered the chicken fried steak with a side of pancake and the trendy burrito. Chicken fried steak was yummy and breaded well with a good amount of gravy. The burrito was your normal bfast egg and bacon. Would come to support local again!

We came here on a weekday and the place filled up with a trickle and was pretty full by like 930 am. We ordered a French toast plate and the chia pudding. We also ordered a coffee and orange juice. In total, the bill was over $50 and so it was not cheap. The food itself was just ok. The French toast was much more eggy than we thought it should be, and on the drier side. The chia pudding was fine, nothing special, but it did come with some fruit and granola. Overall, we thought the food was just ok. The service was kind and helpful, though. There is plenty of parking up front and on the side streets.

I usually hit up the Black Bear Diner when possible, however on this trip we decided to try something different and we were very happy we did. The mushroom omelette is fantastic, the service was great and the prices are fair. Don't be put off by the location and lack of street lighting and exterior lighting in general. If you ever find yourself staying the night in Redding, be sure to visit Trendy's Cafe for breakfast in the morning. read more

I don't get the hype about this place. I only gave a 2 star because its cute inside. The food was horrible. My husband and I both had a ruben, meat was dry. It was actually the worse Ive ever had. I do have to say the waitress was nice and on top of things but food was a not so good! read more

SO GOOD!!!!! We had the Panko French Toast, pancakes, waffles and my husband had an inlet with mushrooms and avocado!!!! Everything is simply yummy!!! I wasn't a huge fan of the biscuits and gravy, but being a southern girl, I'm a bit picky with my biscuits:) Great service and a hometown, laid back atmosphere. read more

Had this recommendation from the owners family, I'm from Santa Rosa area. We were in town for an all weekend lacrosse tournament. We've been to every place in town for occasional breakfasts. Although some places can offer a slightly better ambiance, this is still a really cute, home-like cafe and the homemade food they serve up at Trendys blows any other place out of the water. Home made biscuits, homemade jellies, a platefull of fresh tasting food... It's like having your grandma make a meal for you. This will be our goto place for breakfasts from now on and we'll definitely try a lunch soon. Wishing they were open on a Saturday, but maybe that will change in the future?? read more

My fiance and I went to Trendys today. We were very impressed. Place was a little difficult to find, but it was worth the little hassle. Place is very clean, staff is extremely friendly and food was amazing! I ordered the caprese sandwich and my fiancé had the bomb burger. Food was out within 10 minutes and drink refills were refreshed often. Everything was fresh and hot. Chicken was moist on my sandwich and my fiancé complimented on the flavor of his burger. Portions were good and the price was fair. Lunch was $27 for both of us minus a tip. A server even asked if I wanted my ice tea to go before I left. We will definitely be back again. I highly recommend everyone give it a try! read more

Nice place, clean and reasonably priced. The servers offered awesome customer service and were very pleasant. I had the corned beef hash and my fiance had the standard breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and griddle cakes). Awesome place, family run and operated and you can tell they care. Food is simple but well executed. This place is popular and can get busy so I try to go to lunch around 11:15 or 11:30 so I beat the rush. I have had the carnitas and they are EXCELLENT. The Ruben sandwich passed my test (I am a Reuben fan and find too many other places screw them up) Trendy's Reuben is awesome. Garlic fries are great too! There is also some sort of Panko breaded and fried muffin ala mode dessert that is a must have as well. GO TO Trendy's, you wont be disappointed! read more

This place was fantastic!!! We were on our way back home from Shasta and wanted brunch. We came in around 1:30pm, about 30 minutes before they close for the afternoon, and they were more than happy to still have us come. Everything on the menu looked good and I almost ordered something that I would never order, because it looked so amazing. Me and my husband ended up ordering the same thing, and it was WOW!!! We had the pancake, eggs, sausage patty and breakfast potatoes. Everything was so great! I normally don't eat breakfast potatoes, but I finished almost all of them. It was a good price, especially for the amount of food they gave us. The portions were large and we both didn't finish our entire plates. If you are in town, make sure to stop here!!!! We will be coming back again anytime we are in the area! read more

Was fishing a bass tournament out of bridge bay marina and on our way out this is one of the places we were recommended. At first driving up to find this place was kinda hidden but don't let that fool you. You walk in and you feel like everyone is family and on top of that the food was amazingly delicious. This will be my new spot when I come up to the Redding area. People always say that hole in the walls are usually great and with this restaurant I have to agree. read more

Found this place, thanks to Yelp! I ordered the Monte Christo sandwich and it was possibly the best one I've ever had! The restaurant was busy, but we had super good service! A cute place with hard working individuals who provided the best service they could. The wait was long to be seated and to be served. We waited over 30 min to be seated and another 35 min for our food to be served. The food was okay, would recommend the griddle cake. read more

Trendy's is a little place hidden from plain sight. Once stepping in, you are greeted by friendly waitresses and seated right away. The home seasoned potatoes were a fan favorite and the pancakes were amazing, though they had a distinct flavor that we cannot place. Definitely a must try when visiting Redding. read more

Redding, Ca is not usually known for great eating places but Trendy's is doing everything right to change that perception. The restaurant is clean, service is fast and the food is high quality and generally delicious. The garlic country potatoes will please just about everyone and I am sure that most will enjoy their version of country gravy (although that is the one item I will not order again...probably better for my heart that way...LOL). Next time you are hungry for breakfast or lunch (they are not open for dinner) you could not do any better in Redding. read more

Absolute hands down the friendliest restaurant in town. Matched with amazing food! Wendy, the owner and our darling server Denise, went above and beyond to make our lunch outing a memorable one! We found Trendy's through yelp and it wasn't too far away from the Easter services we had just attended. Now I know why yelp has given it five stars! Not only was the food amazing, but coupled with the friendly service and added bonus to my children... Easter presents- we will definitely be returning! Great food service was excellent I had the pastrami sandwich the make the pastrami in house if you like a classic pastrami it's the bomb it didn't have the thousands island dressing like some but good flavor I dipped mine in catsup of a little sweet tang potato salad and onion rings are great read more

Amazing Breakfast!! My friend was visiting from out of town and I didn't feel like cooking. We didn't want to go to your average Denny's or chain restaurant. This place ended up being an amazing find. My friend and I decided to get 2 breakfasts and share them. Their special was the pumpkin french toast - it was like a light pumpkin bread with dabs of pumpkin and whipped cream. Sooo good! And then we had eggs, bacon, potatoes and a griddle pancake. The pancakes are made with sweet cream, so they are sweet by themselves, but maple syrup was the best. They heat their syrups, so that was a very nice touch. The bacon is thick and crunchy. The coffee is premium grade and they had buckets of creamer so you didn't have to continually ask for it. The decor is a fun with charming black/white/red and polka dot table cloths. They have nice attention to detail and are quick to serve. Very friendly folks too!! I love supporting local -- and this place I will visit again often, even by myself!! read more

I absolutely love this place! My husband and I were passing through Redding and needed our own fuel for the long drive home. When I googled breakfast spots "Trendy's" came up on our radar. When arriving, I notice a little restaurant with lots of parking (I personally love available parking) when we walked in, the staff greeted us with huge smiles and bubbly personalities. We found seating in the back room. I scanned the decor and completely fell in love! It was simple but catchy, a business but homey! Trendy definitely fits this place well! You can tell the owner designed this place with love! Along with the decor, you have a awesome menu. I could not make up my mind. Each and every plate sounded completely fire and made my mouth water. I settled with the breakfast burrito with a fruit bowl and my husband had the "chorizo con maiz". No long wait for our plates and the food exceeded our expectations! I believe the owner is in the restaurant hands on. I was surprised when I was told she had the cook rewrap my burrito because it had a crack. Anyhoo, this establishment goes above and beyond to accommodate their customers! I cannot wait to go back! read more

I had business in Redding and had to have early breakfast. I chose Trendy's since they open at 6AM. I am so glad I did. Their coffee is so tasty!!! I find most places are cautious and tend to serve weak coffee. Even though the coffee was bold it was not bitter and had plenty of taste. The egg chorizo was very tasty and the pancake was just right and not lumpy. This family owned business is doing things right. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Cupertina G.

As of February 2020 Trendy's was purchased by the current owners of Joe's Giant Orange (a thriving north Redding / Shasta Lake I5 staple restaurant!) The new owners bring over 35 years experience in the restaurant industry combined with their love of delicious food and desire to put smiles on their customers faces! No one loves food more than the owner and head chef Ruben, he has been cooking with his heart & soul for over 35 years, and his wife Cupertina has been serving their customers with a smile and running the business for over 10 years. When they heard this past December that the previous owners of Trendy's were thinking about selling their restaurant, they jumped at the opportunity to own a slice of iconic downtown Redding's thriving food scene! Since the beginning of February they have worked side by side with the previous owners of Trendy's, and have perfected the recipes and the menu, and are working hard to deliver mouth watering food with amazing service!

You cannot do that with this app, nor is there anyone to help you through From the Hearth side and it's missing the DoorDash side. I've done several home deliveries through the app and mostly items were correct, a few times fries or sauces, added ingredient's to a dish we're missing and we'd than have to go to the store to get them, which is manageable but the experience I'd like to really share is: I made a $175 order to feed my family and friends that were in town. It took over 2.5hrs to finally get delivered to us, it even got delivered to the wrong house and when trying to get it figured out through From the Hearth staff they treated me as if I was lying and would not remake the food nor refund me. The food was literally "missing" and I was told I had to go through the subsidiary (DoorDash) that's when I learned it was not their app and they had no responsibility once it left their store. But really for me, It was the way the From the Hearth staff responded to the incident that truly baffles me and makes me not eat there anymore. I use to frequent the business several times a month, this was extremely rude and made me very disappointed. I would NOT recommend them based on their customer service by this experience.
