This is a tough one. I have eaten at Trendy's several times. The food is quite good: nice menu, well prepared and presented. The service is efficient and the staff friendly. My problem with the place is that it is so LOUD! When it is full it's hard to have a conversation. This is largely a problem of the restaurant space, I think...too many hard surfaces amplifying sound. Maybe some wall hangings could soften the noise. To be honest about it, though, it is the owners of the restaurant who contribute the most to the din by talking and laughing really loudly. If they dialed it down perhaps the customers would not feel the need to shout. read more

Ever since we found this place there's no where else we eat breakfast. The only downside I can come up with is that they're not open on Saturdays. The food is so good. We've tried almost all their breakfast items now and I can't say a bad thing about any of it. The portions are large, especially on the chicken fried steak; all the meat is delicious; the pancakes are to die for. They offer a ton of syrup options and make their own tasty jams. Oh, and the garlic fries are so garlic-y and amazing. The servers are friendly and efficient. We go here almost every Sunday and have been taking everyone we know to try it too. Haven't heard a complaint yet, other than the size of the restaurant. I bet they'll need to upgrade soon and hope they're around for a good long time. You'd be hard pressed to find better breakfast in Redding. read more

Best breakfast in Redding. The corned beef hash is just perfect, and they serve it with hot cakes! The French Toast is another big win - the chef dusts it with panko before he fries it. Gives it a nice crunch. This is a family business, and it has a real family vibe. Kathy, the waitress, is a real sweetie. You gotta try this place. I actually registered a Yelp account to review this place. We had lunch here today and, at the end, found out that they're a new business, about to celebrate 100 days in business. We had absolutely no idea - it felt like the restaurant had been there for years, in the best possible sense. The staff were super-friendly, the food was delicious with massive portions. Had breakfast here with two friends on a weekday morning. It was packed for what we found to be good reason. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. The coffee was hot, strong, and fresh. There was half and half on the table. The fruit was remarkably fresh. The pancakes were incredible and the biscuits like clouds. The savory dishes were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We waited about 25 minutes for a table for Sunday brunch and it was totally worth it. The food was excellent, as was the friendly, attentive service. At so many other breakfast spots, a side of fruit is an afterthought full of unripe melon - at Trendy's its a bowl packed with a variety of sweet, in-season fruit and berries. My friend's veggie burger was super yummy and everyone loved the homemade jam. They were totally slammed but hustling like crazy and always smiling. Its our new favorite spot in Redding. read more

This is our very favorite place for breakfast. There isn't anything we've had that we haven't liked. Their country potatoes are the best in town...delicious! They are generally willing to make substitutions, and only charge $1 to split the meal for you. My husband and I almost always share our meals, as neither of us are big eaters, but we find that even sharing a meal there is sometimes more than enough for us and we take some home. The place is clean and the people are friendly. If I have any complaint, its only that the place has become so popular that sometimes there is a bit of a wait. If there's a wait for a table, sit at the counter. But you might still have a bit of a wait for your food. However, assuming you have time, it's worth the wait. read more
