Trendy's has always been our go-to for breakfast, the food is fresh and on point. Today we came in because it's our anniversary, and breakfast was going to be our only time to celebrate. Had our four year old with us, he loves the pancakes! We sat in the back room where only one other table was occupied, the restaurant had maybe only half a dozen tables seated in all. Were brought coffee and menus promptly. Within 10-15 minutes the room was completely full and we were entirely forgotten. Watched tables seated well after us order and receive their food before our order was ever taken. Tried to catch the waitress a couple of times unsuccessfully until she delivered food to the table next to ours and I said "Excuse me ma'am, we still need to order..." and she waved a hand in my direction, mumbled something and turned and left the room. A few minutes later a different waitress came in and took our order. This was now 35 minutes after being seated. Another 35 minute wait and we finally received our food. Several tables who arrived after us had eaten and left by now. Never did we receive an apology for our wait, even when our coffees were refilled a second time and I politely declined with "no thank you mine is already cold". Not sure I will make the effort again to choose Trendy's though we do enjoy their food. read more

Was really excited about eating here after reading all the positive reviews. Was seated at the bar and given coffee. The coffee was awful but I still was excited after seeing the menu. After 10 minutes of being completely ignored the host told us to take a table since the servers tend to forget about the counter. Sat and waited another 10 minutes while the servers continued to completely ignore us. Multiple tables that came in after us had their orders taken. One server stopped and talked on the phone, and even did a mini interview with someone dropping off a resume. I have worked as a server most my life and was honestly appalled at the rudeness. We immediately noticed how cute and clean the restaurant was and were greeted the minute we walked in. They were pretty full but had our order placed within 10 minutes. We were offered homemade jam with our breakfast and it was so delicious. I had the taco omelet and it was spicy and filling and the fruit bowl was amazing-not just a few melons with a grape. This fruit bowl had blackberries, blueberries, apples, grapes, pineapple, cantaloupe, bananas and honeydew! Husband had the Shroom Cali omelette and he said it was realllly good! Trendy's is one of two must stops for my wife and I on the way to and from Oregon along with Yaks on the 5. Breakfast here is a true pleasure. They make their own jam...who doesn't like that! Love love love their Portuguese sausage and always get a side of it with whatever I order. You can not go wrong with anything you order. It is always delicious. I've been here twice this week, once for lunch and once for breakfast. At lunch I got the fish tacos with pesto pasta salad as a side. The tacos were very fresh but honestly somewhat tasteless to me...it just seemed the mahi mahi was a bit bland and none of the toppings really did anything to counter it. For breakfast a few days later I got the locomotive omelette, and wow what a treat! If I had an idea of a perfect omelette this would be it. Some people might prefer onions and veggies etc but I'm all about the meats in my omelettes and this thing hit the spot! We came from out of town, looking for a place that the locals love. We certainly found it. We tried the panko french toast, 2 versions of the eggs benedict, the corned beef hash and chicken fried steak. Everything was delicious and a bit unique to this place. The atmosphere gave it a homey feel and the wait staff was super friendly and got everything perfect as we ordered it. If we make it back to Redding, I hope to go back to Trendy's. read more

Food is usually really good. So I decided to try the breakfast the last time I went into Trendy's, but sadly my pancake was left under the heat lamp for to long while my other plate of food was being prepared. The rest of my breakfast was good but I thought it was pretty disappointing to receive a cold and dry pancake especially when the food takes so long to get to you. I would have said something about my pancake, but everyone was busy and didn't really acknowledge me when trying to wave for them to come over. Also I always see the young couple that works at Trendy's making out and touching on each other while on the clock. I'm pretty picky when it comes to diners/cafes but this place was so amazing! I got the Locomotive scramble and it came with fresh fruit and a pancake. The scramble was delicious and came with avocado on top (a sure way to my heart). The fruit was a sweet assortment of strawberries, kiwi, pineapple, blackberries etc. The biscuits and jam are also homemade and to die for. I already have a favorite diner where I live in Southern California but every time I come home to visit I am coming back here for breakfast. Definitely one of the best places in Redding. read more

Best Breakfast in Town! Hands down! I know there is De Ja Vu and a few tasty others for breakfast around Redding, but I do believe Trendy's "IS" the BEST! Wendy, Trever, Cathy, and Denise, et. al. from Country Waffel House have really made a great impression on me and the foodie community in Redding. The fruit cups, griddle cakes [with homemade apricot syrup], and garlic aioli potatoes set them apart from the rest. I tend to order the same items at different restaurants around town and whenever I'm at Trendy's I get "The White [all veggie]" omelet with added feta cheese, a fruit cup, and a griddle cake. However, I have had the fries, onion rings, French toast, and the chicken fried steak that I cut with a fork, not easily achieved at other places I've had the CKS. My son always gets the griddle cakes with a side of bacon, and the bacon is dome to a nice crisp, and the vanilla flavor in the griddle cakes is just heavenly. I've tried the specials, and they are very good too. The homemade salsa and jam for your toast is another home run. They just pour their hearts out into the food, and the love shows! I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner, and they are like family, as well as actual family. Have never experienced bad food or service, but have waited in line once, they are worth the wait when busy. read more

Came here for Sunday breakfast/brunch. We arrived about 10-10:30 am and there was about a 15-20 min wait time for a table for 5. At this time, you can order from their breakfast menu and their lunch menu. I got the chicken fried steak with over medium eggs. The chicken fried steak was smothered with sausage gravy and was delicious. It was perfectly good and super tasty. Service was good and they came by to ask ya how we were doing and refilled our waters. The food took awhile to come out but I'm assuming that's because the food is fresh.
