Our first visit to Trendy's went so well that we returned, but the second visit paled in comparison to the first. We ordered the carnitas tacos and the carnitas meat was mushy and tasted like chorizo. When I told the waitress that, she just replied with, "well, they ARE carnitas", then she grabbed my plate (with 1 last taco of 3 left on the plate), and returned with the check with the two carnitas plate fully charged ($16.00 each). My boyfriend and I loved this spot! It was recommended to us by the employees at the hotel we stayed at in the area and it ended up being better that we even expected. It has pretty traditional breakfast options and a classic cozy diner feel. Great customer service! Everyone was very nice and attentive and they all seemed to get along with each other very well as well which was awesome. I ordered the breakfast burrito but I switched out the meat and sour cream for veggies and it was super good and huge! Definitely a big enough portion to share.. Great food and huge portions. Especially enjoyed the fruit that I asked for instead of potatoes. Nice bowl of pineapple, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, in addition to the grapes and sliced bananas and kiwis. Usually a pancake would be extra, but it didn't cost more to get a very large and exceptionally tasty pancake instead of toast. You could also get tortillas. The ice tea was refreshing. Trendy's food is AMAZING {very good}, BUT cooked from scratch or not NO ONE should wait over an hour {for us it was an hour and 10 minutes +} for their food! New menu and my favorite, the tacos, had an all new fried taco shell which was greasy and didn't hold the taco meat well at all and it completely fell apart before I could get through them - I really preferred the previous shell it was much better. Trendy's is a great option for lunch but for $30 bucks + if you're on a lunch break or on any kind of schedule I don't recommend coming here unless you are not in a hurry - be prepared to be patient and be prepared to wait. read more

Trendy's is decent. The food is homemade but isn't amazing. It's not bad though. I prefer Dejavu for breakfast, but I would eat here again. The atmosphere is a bit 'eh', and the wait is long for your food. I brought my 3 hungry kids in to eat and that was a mistake. Too long a wait for them and the kids menu prices where too high, especially after I saw the portion size. My hubby and I also went in by ourselves for brunch and it was a better experience, still not amazing though. All in all it's worth a try bc everyone's pallet is their own. read more

Heard great reviews but not my experience. After I was seated a worker came out from the kitchen and sneezed into his hand. He walked over to the drink station and made someone a drink w/o washing his hands! He left after that. My food was okay but as I sat there I watched another worker refill some drinks and spilled ice on the floor. She just kicked the ice cubes under the machine like a lazy teenager. Not sure what was going on but the reviews did not match my experience. read more

I just had an amazing breakfast, one of the best I have ever had!! I had the chicken fried steak and eggs with potato's, eggs and biscuits and gravy. It was the best Chicken fried steak I have ever had and the potatoes where amazingly delicious as well, crispy on the outside but soft and moist in the middle. The biscuit was soft and buttery and the gravy had a very nice homemade flavor. My husband had the Waffle and was raving about it. Wendy our server was very friendly and welcoming and gave great service. I can't wait to come back again soon, this is now going to be our go to breakfast place in Redding. read more

If I could give this place a six star I would. The service is wonderful and the food is deliciously prepared for the right price. They even gave our dog some snacks. This is hands down my favorite breakfast spot in Redding (I haven't ordered lunch here yet, but it looks delicious). I had grown tired of the other breakfast places in town as they mostly all have the same feel so I sought out a new place via Yelp and the Yelpsters did not let me down. I am wondering if she remembers our breakfasts in Paris? I thought no one could beat the French in the food category. Can't go wrong with this place. I was just passing through Redding and found this place on yelp. Pancakes were legit along with the Locomotive scramble. Good size portions with a homemade, home cooked taste to it. Get the jalapeño jam to put on your pancake or biscuit. Also start your meal with a homemade peach crumble muffin. read more

Trendy's is worth a detour off the highway - it was one of the best meals on our road trip! The restaurant is family-run and is just outside of the main downtown area of Redding. We were seated promptly, and it only took about a half hour to get our food on Memorial Day, which was pretty good considering how crowded the restaurant was! It was awesome that we were able to get small portions of the eggs, pancakes, and French Toast so we could try a bit of everything! The breakfast potatoes were delightfully crispy and garlicky, the pancake was tasty and huge, the French Toast (with a Panko coating) was sweet and a bit crunchy, and the biscuit was enormous and uniquely fluffy. The homemade preserves (apricot and jalapeno) were also out of this world! The service was super warm and friendly, like you were dining with old friends. We were looking for a good breakfast spot while staying in Redding for an extended family visit. So of course we consulted our go to source Yelp and had our interest sparked by Trendy's reviews. Trendy's is an old school breakfast spot and just what you'd want in a good hole in the wall restaurant. We came in and snagged a spot at the counter as there was quite a line of waiting patrons and the place was packed. It was obvious that the place is a local's favorite and I can see why, sitting at the counter in the heart of the action it was amazing watching the interplay of the staff, everyone friendly and enjoying each other with a lot of side banter, I like that in places I eat especially under the pressure of a full restaurant. We were greeted by a hostess that brought us some iced tea, and our waitress was great, you could tell from the way she handled customers and our ordering she was a delightful veteran of this environment. The menu is pretty deep and everything is made to order, so if your the type of diner that has one eye on the clock and the other on the kitchen, you'll be disappointed. The cooks make sure your order is right and not premade. I had the chicken fried pork loin with, over easy eggs, country potatoes and homemade biscuit and homemade raspberry jam. My wife had the corned beef hash, over easy eggs and toast and the raspberry jam. My portions were huge, I couldn't even begin to finish everything, the chicken fried pork loin, seriously, covered half the plate. The country potatoes were excellent, very good seasoning, eggs perfectly cooked, and the biscuit was incredible, fluffy very buttery flavor and the jam simply could not have been better. My pork loin was a bit lacking on flavor, being a milder flavor cut over over your standard chicken fried steak, but still a good cut of meat. The gravy had the right texture and thickness, but I'd like a more seasoned flavor, had to add my own salt and pepper, I was hoping for a better taste to go with the perfect texture. My wife enjoyed her breakfast, everything was done right and raved about the homemade jam. She liked the hash, but as always, tries to compare it to the incredible hash at Jax at the Tracks, our winter hometown Triple DDD favorite, in Truckee. Overall a good solid breakfast stop, great staff, good made to order food that's sure to please. We'll definitely be back when having breakfast in Redding. read more

Thank you, Yelp, for guiding me to this little gem. We were driving through and wanted a casual place to eat some yummy food. Trendy's popped up as close to us. It's a cute little diner set up. We decided to sit at the counter. They had good options for kids. And the regular menu had some interesting options but it all looked amazing when it came from the kitchen. It was busy, which is always a good sign. We ordered the chicken caprese sandwich and the sweet potato medallions. My kid had the turkey sandwich and fruit. The fruit was beautifully presented and 100% fresh. The chicken sandwich was to die for. And the sweet potato medallions were amazing with ranch. They offered cinnamon and sugar sprinkles on the medallions, but we opted not to. But it's a good option if you like it that way. We chatted with a couple of the servers and come to find out it's family run and operated. They said they love what they do and it definitely shows in their food. I got a mocha latte blondie bar to go and that was amazing, as well. We will definitely be stopping here on our way through again! read more

Went here after working a charity golf tournament and were looking for a brunch style menu. The wait was a little long, but well worth it. The food was delicious and we were able both breakfast and lunch items all day. Our server even noticed I am a veteran and offered me a veteran discount on our bill. Stopped in for breakfast on our way out of town. This is a cute place with friendly service and tasty food. The breakfast Trendwich was so fresh and delicious. The gouda and aioli were a great combination. The potatoes were golden and crispy with just the right amount of seasoning. The kids loved the chocolate chip pancakes and my husband really enjoyed the corn beef hash. I also enjoyed the coffee. It was served in a nice large mug and was better than most diner coffee.
