My friend and I were in the area for couple of days and before leaving we did a quick Yelp search on some breakfast/brunch places. We decided to pay Trendy's a visit based on their reviews and the direction we were going towards (we were heading to Whiskeytown after). When we arrived, we were lucky to grab a parking spot in the front and while there were people eating inside, we decided to eat outdoors. After being seated, we were greeted by our friendly waitress. She gave us a few minutes to decide and when she came back with our drinks we were ready to order. My friend got the chimicuri steak with hash browns, eggs, and side pancake. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted but ended up getting the chicken caprese sandwich with fries. All the food was REALLY GOOD. The "side" pancake was an impressive size and my friend was nice enough to share it with me. Honestly, it was my favorite part of the meal. Thinking back, I think that's what I originally wanted lol. Overall, all the food was delicious and the service was great. They were very attentive even considering we were the only ones eating outside. Great place for brunch and they have generous portions. Found this gem on Yelp had great reviews.Lets just say that everyone was right , from the food to the atmosphere to the service. I got the locomotive omelet wich had bacon,sausage, lingucia ,and two different cheeses AMAZING!! came with a side wich I picked a pancake and asked for a side of homemade BlackBerry jam (to die for) with potatoes. My husband had the chicken fried steak with a bisquit which was huge and fluffy and came with potatoes. The kids had bisquits and gravy with sausage patty wich looked and tasted homemade. Delicious!! I was looking to visit the best local breakfast place as my last stop before heading back to the Bay Area yesterday. I I read reviews, saw pictures, and said "Trendy's it is." First impression? It's very clean, small, quaint, with cute decor and very Trendy (well, obviously:) Service was quick and efficient. I was looking forward to trying the panko crusted French toast the most because I've never heard of such a thing before. I sort of expected to be blown away much more based on reviews I read. But nothing to complain about - it wasn't bad, and in fact was tasty and unique. I learned I'm just simply a fan of soggy French toast which you won't find with Panko. I poured syrup on it and let it sit/soak and it didn't soften which is what I like. What surprised me was the most simple thing on my plate: the giant biscuit! It was soft, moist, super light, fluffy and buttery..slathered with sweet butter and blueberry spread? Yum! It was pretty big so I took some home and just finished it - wishing I could have more. Who knew I'd fall in love with a biscuit of all things? We also ordered bacon, eggs, garlic potatoes (yum!) chicken fried steak (thick, huge, with savoury gravy, yum!) and coffee. The staff is super nice and willing to do anything to make us happy. The food was so delicious, it began our day so positively. Cupertina, the owner took her time to talk to us for quite some time and share her struggle during COVID 19, a true entrepreneur which loves what she is doing, you can tell and taste it! If you've never eaten here you are in for such a treat! I moved to Redding from Santa Rosa about 3yrs ago and the food here reminds me of Sonoma County. The quality and consistency of the food is hands down the best in Redding, from the fresh squeezed orange juice to the Jicama slaw, you won't be disappointed. My friend had the corned beef hash, Poached Egg with a pancake. She was in love with the crispness of the hash, the perfectly poached egg and the pancake, we both agreed, is the best either one of us have ever had. I had the Chimichurri Steak with potatoes and a pancake and it was phenomenal! The steak was cooked to Perfection and the quality of meat was that of a 5 star restaurant. Their house salsa added the perfect touch to the potatoes. I I wish I had gotten my servers name, but honestly the entire staff was helpful no matter who I flagged down. Such a nice experience. Just passing by through Redding and found this place on Yelp. Went it and was greeted and seated immediately (keep in mind this is on a Monday morning around 9:30/10). We ordered the fresh oj which was really good, so props to them! Food was good, had no complaints but it also wasn't anything amazing. We both had the Trendwich which was good, a little dry, and needed more of the chipotle sauce but was good overall. Service was not the greatest, it did seem a bit busy for a Monday morning but there were only 2 waitresses for the entire place. Not once were we checked up on. It was very straightforward for them. Order, bring food, bring check and that's how it very much felt. It took about 10-15 minutes for a side order for corn tortillas to come out. I ordered a Nor Cal burrito because it was recommended to me, and I was blown away when it came out because I have never seen a burrito like this before. This was our first time here. They were doing outdoor seating due to COVID, but the service was phenomenal. We were seated right away and helped. Our waitress was so friendly. They're open only for breakfast and lunch, closing at 2 PM. I had a Reuben Sandwich with a side of Potato Salad. My wife had the Carnitas Taco Salad. She loved it and it was big and very hearty and came already dressed and a small cup of guacamole. So if it was so good, why didn't I make it 5-star? Well, because the prices were a bit high, especially for Reddding, CA. The salad was $14 and the Reuben was $13. Those are 'Big City' prices. You know hidden little cafe's usually have surprisingly great food? Well this is a diamond! Coffe was bold, and perfect. And omg the food: I got my standard chicken fried steak, crunchy, with creamy, mild savory country gravy, tasty country potatoes.
