Folsom bike is practicing social distancing and only allowing a certain amount of patrons in at a time into the store. They offer two lines outside for Sales at the left door and Service on the right door. All employees and patrons must wear a mask. Friendly welcoming staff. Staff ask you when you are entering store what brings you in today, getting us in quickly to what where we needed to find. We came in today to purchase a couple of insulated water bottles for our bikes. Competing pricing and the products were in stock; makes for a successful trip to Folsom Bike. This Store has a lot to offer and is well stocked with bikes, and accessories when we came in today. We will definitely be back to this location for our next bike services. read more

What a rip off their repair folks are. Long story short, my gear shifter stopped working and I brought it in. The diagnosis from them? New gear shifters and $600 later. Being the cheap skate I am and with a healthy dose of "I don't fucking believe you dumb nitwits attitude". I also have a good healthy dose of lazy as fuck attitude too, so the bike sat in the garage for a while, as I basked in my I'm not getting the "ol banana in the tail pipe" treatment. At some point, I mustered the energy to YouTube "fixing my Shimano gear shifter" and the first video told me to do a 5 minute fixit job of unscrewing one screw and spraying WD40 in it! It works! Last month I took my Specialized Hybrid into Folsom Bike (now named Trek Bike) to fix a flat tire. I've brought my bike here off and on for minor repairs for 8 years. This flat on my rear tire has reoccurred more than a few times and Folsom Bike told me there is no issue with the wheel and spokes. After another flat, I brought my bike to another Bike Shop. They discovered the previous repair was made with duct tape (see attached photo). I was very disappointed to say the least! read more

Rating 5.0 TLDR: these guys know their sh.tuff. You got questions? They can answer them. You need something fixed? They can fix it. You need to buy something? They will most likely have the inventory. Also, they are super friendly. One of the best bike shops I've been too. I will definitely come back for their business. I was in search for a indoor smart trainer, and I originally went with a "shall not be named" joe schmoe all over California bike shop (not folsom bike) since they had a stock and were in VERY close proximity. Sadly, when I got there, they didn't know anything about the trainer or it's working parts. So, I called Folsom Bike, and they answered all my questions - the ones Joe Schmoe Bikes couldn't. So, I bid farewell to Joe and his cookie cutter crew and ventured 30 more minutes to Folsom Bike. When I arrived, Travis was very friendly and answered all my questions. He almost remembered that I called, and asked if I still wanted the smart trainer. I was sold. Ive been to a few bike shops, but this one felt the most welcoming. This shop does not believe in customer service. I bought a 700 dollar cruiser and 500 dollars worth of accessories and the bike rack came with no hardware. They were going to charge me for the extra hardware. I spoke personally with the manager and he told me to my face that he does not believe in customer service and than I spoke with the owner Erin Gorrell who actually backs her manager. I am seriously thinking about opening a bike shop in Folsom selling custom cruisers just so I can drive her out of business. She does not belong in Folsom!! Erin you are a liar and unethical person. In a time where finding a nice bike in stock is nearly impossible - Folsom Bike came through with not only great availability, but with great employees as well. After several months of searching at my local bike shops and online with no luck, I found a great bike on Folsom Bike's website and purchased it right away. First thing in the morning Travis gave me a call and congratulated me on my purchase and set up a time for me to come pick it up. When I arrived to the shop the whole team welcomed me and Andrew stepped up to assist with the fitting and accessories. Three strikes and you are out... I tried to buy a bike from you in September last year(Trek Domane SLR7)and had a really poor experience. I purchased elsewhere. Shook it off and returned around May needing a small part for my Trek STP 400. Totally indifferent service. In this store not spending much must mean unimportant. Returned today and was greeted by a really nice young man. We talked a little to define my reason for the visit(very pleasant). Just looking for ideas to replace my old school Trek STP 400. My 2020 Trek Domane SLR7 proved how dated my 2010 Cervelo R3SL was. Thinking the same applies for my 2004 Trek STP 400(last one made). I had to take a business call shortly after arriving and sat on a couch (1-2 minutes)away from everyone. I was told(scolded)very aggressively that I had to leave the store and finish my call outside by a different employee(tallish male, brown hair ,35ish) . I've been going to Folsom Bike for the occasional tire replacement or repair since moving to the area. I only ride @ 3 miles/day with my senior pup, and my bike is @15 years old, but I love my old bike -- lots of memories together. Most recently, I had a damaged part that prevented me from riding. Folsom Bike was out of stock on the part, as was every other shop I phoned. I found a similar part online, but was unsure it was suitable. I forwarded the link to Muuqi in the service department (who'd helped me when I came in). He told me the part would not work for my bike, and even went so far as to do an online search for the part on his own time. He didn't find the part, but I was so impressed with his effort. I've never had anything less that friendly, professional, knowledgeable service at Folsom Bike. Highly recommend! read more

I was locked out of my vehicle and he searched and searched the internet to get in touch with my boyfriend and provide me with safety and water while I waited for him to arrive, while they were closing the store. Andrew was so kind snd caring I will definitely be back to return my bike for service. I was also in a few days prior to have my son fitted for one of their bikes and Trevor was incredible with knowledge regarding size and explaining the difference in bikes and choices.. never pushing or selling but simply educating. I took my bike in recently to have a bottom bracket problem attended to. They kept the bike for two weeks, did absolutely nothing during that time. They never called me--I had to call them to find out what was going on with my bike. The service "manager" looked like it hurt him to apologize for their inattention and poor service--when he finally deigned to do so. I even wrote a detailed email to the owner, Erin Gorrell, to complain about the incident, which consists of some other sordid details that I don't include here in the interest of brevity. After being ignored, I sent it again and received a reply, finally, saying that she was going to call me to discuss the issue. I'm still waiting to hear from her. I'm left to surmise, therefore, that the lackadaisical attitude at Folsom Bike starts at the top. Find another bike shop. If you can. It's hard, I know, as the Sacramento area seems to be a "desert" for good bike shops (with a couple of exceptions--Folsom Bike obviously not being one of them). Folsom Bike is not where you want to shop or service your bicycle. I went to Folsom Bike to fix a bad front wheel valve immediately after a bicycle accident. I was in shock and needed medical attention. Not one person working at Folsom Bike offered to help me with my medical needs or call ambulance. I got my tire repaired and made my way back home. The cost was about $20 for a replacement inter-tube. Most bike shops don't charge anything, but the cost of the inter-tube. FOLSOM BIKE IS HORRIBLE PLACE TO VISIT AFTER A BICYCLE ACCIDENT. read more

Had a very... very poor experience today at Folsom Bike. I walked in the door and saw three people at the front desk looking at me as if they wanted to help me, only to be told to read the sign at the front door, follow the instructions and go wait outside until I was asked to be called in. There was almost nobody in the store and no wait line!! Some rude employee by the name of "Andrew" decided that he would rather berate me and act rudely and arrogantly... asking me to go back outside and wait in line (there was no line), when there was literally nobody in the entire store other than one person in the service department. He said it was really busy, but there was literally nobody in the store... except 1 person in the service department!!! I have spent big time money at thus business purchasing two bikes, and have given many other referrals, and I will never go there again. I also had another poor experience last year, when I was completely ignored when walking in and milling about, so this will be my last time spending any money at this business!!! read more

What I was looking for a bike to buy I searched at several different bike shops in the fulsome area. I knew that I wanted to go with a local business so that way I could help support the local economy and not another large chain business. I've heard great things about fulsome bike and decided to give them a shot. They were actually the third shop that I looked at and I ended up buying my bike there. I love it! I return to the store multiple times to get help with different bike questions and tools and tricks considering this is my first time owning a bike since I was a kid. The staff has been so amazing! They're always there to answer any questions I have to the fullest and with a big smile. I know that they're not the cheapest bike shop to buy from considering that it's always cheaper to buy things online, but the price difference isn't that much different at their store. I feel honored to be able to contribute to their small business by purchasing at their store. Online doesn't welcome you when you walk in the door. I purchased a bike from Folsom Bike about 2 years ago. I got superior service... which I cannot say I received from the local Trek corporate stores. I was so satisfied I recommended them to two friends who both purchased bikes there this year. Oh, and I've taken bikes to their service department several times over the last few years. They are honest and have quick turnaround. If your bike doesn't need a part replaced, they won't try to sell you a new part. And, if they can easily adjust something to solve a problem, it won't cost you anything. read more

This is an unorthodox review from across the country, but one worthy of Yelp. My BMC GF01 needed an obscure part for it that prevented me from riding until I got the part. There are no BMC dealers in my state (Alabama) and the closest one out of state was over 200 miles away. Long story short, I called multiple BMC retailers and got little traction. They were hesitant to help because I was so far away. Jason at Folsom Bikes went out of the way and hooked me up with the part...that they actually had in stock! I have spent thousands of dollars (many thousands) for bikes for myself and my children at their stores. I recently broke a rim on a crash and called to ask about a wheel box to send back for replacement. An empty cardboard box. All shops give these away from free Unfortunately Mike's Bikes had thrown theirs out for recycling, so I called Folsom Bike and spoke to K who transferred me to service. I was told they indeed had a box and to swing by. Upon arriving K told me I had to stand in the service line so I let him know I was the one who called for a box, thinking he would just go grab it and I could be on my way. Nope. He said I had to wait. Fine. The service guy, Drew, asked who told me I could have a wheel box for free, I said I don't know know his name, but initially spoke to K. K then asked if I expected a "free " box, i said yes, then he leaped around the desk to tell me boxes aren't free and if I expected a free box, this isn't the store for me. Literally told me I wasn't to do business with them and to leave the store. I asked to speak to Erin, not having any high hopes of resolution, knowing her reputation from my 600 member cycling club and other posters on yelp, but still hoped that she would make it right given the business I have done with them. K said No I could not speak with her and I was to leave the property immediately. The sidewalk wasn't far enough, so I went to my car. Erin came out eventually, didn't apologize didn't give me a box, but instead accused me of defamation. Another potential customer was there and after she walked away we chatted for a long while about the incident, his experiences there, COVID, politics, and all sorts of other topics. Erin came again to let me know she interviewed customers, yes, interviewed her own customers to make another customer look bad. She interrupted my conversation with this man without even acknowledging him to tell me this. Needless to say, he was blown away and stated they lost his business for good at that point. Then the police arrive. Yes, they called the police and said I was "Rabble Rousing". The would be customer, a retired LEO himself, assured the officer I was not and that we were just chatting. Never purchasing so much as a water from them again. All this over an empty cardboard box. I won't even go into the failed mechanicals my friends have experienced. You can see from Erin's comment that she is only concerned about her store managers and not the customer, me. I wasn't rude, disrespectful or anything else she claims. Read the other 1 star reviews, there is a theme that mentions rudeness, Erin, and poor service. There was no attempt to resolve, that would have simply involved giving me a box, which didn't hapen. Good service would be, "thank you for all your business, sorry this happened, here's your box". read more

My wife and I were out riding (2/27/20), and coincidentally we each had some gear issues. So on our way to Beals, we pulled in to the service department at Folsom Bike. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. They took my our bikes into the back to check out the issues, which turned out to be minor cable tightening. On July 30, 2020, I ordered a Trek bike from Folsom Bike. The salesperson told me that my specific bike was already in an order that was set to arrive at their store on October 19 (yes, almost three months later). On October 19, no one from Folsom Bike called me about my bike. Nor did anyone call me on October 20. So, on October 21, I called them. The salesperson told me my bike's delivery time had "slipped a little bit", and my bike would be here March 2, 2021. "Slipped a little bit"? Are you kidding me? Folsom Bike then said that maybe my bike will be at their store Dec 12, 2020. Ok, that would be nice, but where did that date come from? Yes, of course bikes are in demand, but that is not my point. Folsom Bike told me that my bike would be here October 19 because it was one of the bikes in an order that they had already placed. So, Folsom Bike, what happened? Did you give the bike to someone else? Was my bike not in your order back in July 2020? I'll post another update after December 12 (FB's next promised delivery date for my bike). I have been involved heavily in the bike scene since the early 80's growing up during the Specialized era in Los Gatos, Ca until I moved to Sacramento in the mid 90's. I have purchased bikes and parts from local shops that no longer exist such as California Pedaler, the Bike shop, Bicycles Plus, Mad Cat cycles, Sac town Cyclery, Bob's Bikes, Mikes Bikes and several more. Today I stopped by Folsom Bikes as my daughter has outgrown her current Specialized. Never have I been treated so rudely by such pretentious a$$holes! This shop definitely does not know the meaning of customer service and are a complete disgrace to the bicycle community. This was my first and definitely my last visit to this shop. Ordered a small tool I needed online and was sent a confirmation that it was ready to pick up. So I drove all the way out there and was told, "Sorry, but the part was not here--it was not transferred over from the warehouse". So, because I really needed a specific tool, I was forced to pay for a similar tool that cost twice as much! Guys behind the counter are NOT customer friendly! In fact, while I was waiting to find out about the part I ordered, I asked one of the staff members if he had ever applied a vinyl protector to a mountain bike to protect the paint. He arrogantly responded, "Oh I don't mess with that, I just buy a new bike!!". Well, gee...so sorry that the rest of us peasants feel the need to protect what we work hard and pay for. read more

My wife and I came in to buy a bike, and the salesman helped us find what she wanted. He sized her and determined that she should get a medium sized frame for the bike she wanted. Unfortunately they only had a XS in stock, so he ordered her a medium. After waiting a week, they called and said it was ready. I picked it up, brought it home, and my wife took it for a spin. She had to raise the seat too high and was leaning forward and it didn't feel right. We checked it out, and it they gave us an XS! I took it back to the store, and they could no longer order a M because of lack of inventory. They basically threw their hands up and said we can't get you the bike you ordered now. Of course we weren't happy with this, and we escalated to the owner. She then called us and said it was our fault that we ordered a XS! I told her what happened, but she was content blaming us and took no accountability for their ordering mistake. My wife yelped about it which you can read here, and this was her reply... We provided the bike size to you recommended from the manufacturer based on your height of 5"4" What a BS response to their mistake. Their salesman sized her for a M, and they had an XS in the store when we ordered the bike. Why would we special order and wait for a bike they could have sold us that day in the store? We will never go back. I understand people make mistakes, but to not take accountability for it and blame your customers is a disgrace. Go somewhere else. read more

As a Yelp Elite for the past four years, I have not gone to many bike stores. I think the only other one I've gone to and reviewed was Mike's Bike downtown where I got my cruiser bike back in 2009. Having moved to Folsom, I realized it was time for an upgrade! My neighbors are hard core bikers (I mean, they have like 10+ bikes in their garage and compete). Since moving to Folsom, my husband and I thought we should also get bikes to stay active and explore the trails in Folsom, El Dorado Hills and Sacramento. Having lived in Folsom for 3-4 months now, we realize that a LOT of people bike around the city and our neighbors got us really excited about biking. Prior to my trip to Folsom Bikes, the only kind of biking I had done was biking on my cruiser bike downtown Sacramento from one bar to the next on one gear (similar situation with my husband). My neighbor recommended I go in and talk to the owner, Erin, and see what options would be good for my husband. Erin was super friendly and helpful. She really listened to my needs (and by budget) to get my husband the best bike possible. She even gave me several options to look at. By the end of my shopping adventure, I walked out with a fabulous high quality bike at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends! Overpriced AND rude, quite the combo. Reinforcing that it is much easier and NOW more customer friendly to buy online. Free shipping, online chat AND friendly attitude. Hmm... Surely, this guy must have failed customer service class. Attitude class also a crummy grade. Waiting in line because of covid 19 protocol and limiting number of customers is perfectly understandable. No criticism. Keep up the good work. But may I suggest your customer service needs a major overhaul. You may think there is little to no competition but you are mistaken and missing sales because of your attitude. But then maybe you make enough already you can afford to shoo customers away. When it was my turn to enter the guarded inner sanctum, I had to answer WHY I wanted to enter: I want to look at accessories. "What kind of accessories?" OK, before permission to enter is granted he has to verify that I'm not a laggard there to linger about but that I had a serious verifiable reason to join the few. Now I have, during these challenging times, been to retail stores limiting the number of customers ,but once inside you find that you are free to shop on your own. Once given the green light to enter I was guided to the display of bike racks. Oh wait. Time out to holler to an unescorted customer trying to sneak in on his own "please wait outside until called in!". "Here are the bike racks we carry". Thanks, I would have missed this without a minder guiding my every move. Next stop I was escorted to bike carriers. Again, many thanks I would have probably wandered off course and ended up in women's bike apparel without such close supervision. Uh-oh time to yell at another paying customer trying to walk in unescorted "Please wait outside we're at capacity". Say what about locks? I could use some guidance. I'm considering making a lock to use at home using a concrete block and chain. "I can only help you with locks we sell". Hmm...no informed opinion available. This went on for a few more stations before I decided I had had enough. Better service available at online stores AND more help and guidance from YouTube videos from folks who have experience, show how they do it, and seem to give a s**t about viewers they haven't even met! For an in-person bike shopping experience that makes you feel APPRECIATED AND WELCOME we did find a bike shop in Cameron Park that was open, friendly and extremely helpful: Team Cycle. "Never ridden an E Bike? Here take this one for a spin. Come on in have a cup of coffee. Look around and ask questions". OK it is another 15 minute drive time. But if help, friendly, knowledgeable service (owner builds, sells and races bicycles) and first-class selection is what you are looking for, Team Cycle in Cameron Park. And they have an in-store coffee/espresso bar! Yes hands on experience or online experience both easily out do Folsom Bike. read more

I have had an enjoyable experience here every time I shop or service here. Odi in service specifically is very kind and knows a lot about mountain bikes. Came in for a leak on my 2015 trek and he said it's a tubeless tire so it may leak frequently. Hooked me up with my next batch of tires. I probably would not have paid the $150 for the tubeless mountain bike tires if it weren't for odi. He really impressed me with his knowledge and friendliness :). Thank you odi! read more

Did the basic tune up for 2 bikes knowing front brakes needed work. They put new rotors on both bikes and upgrade one of them without asking permission at double the cost. After challenging them on that they lowered the price of the rotor to "their cost". After they finished, the "upgraded" brake was not adjusted and the lever hit the handle bar. Upon asking them to fix this, I was told that isn't included in the basic service. So just confirm that after spending over $375, new rotors and brake pads they can't adjust a brake properly? Also took the bikes in on Friday and was quoted they would be ready by Sunday, they weren't ready until Tuesday. Horrible service and a complete rip off. Erin the owner has since contacted me and corrected the situation. Thank you Erin. I will now again do business with Folsom Bike. read more

They took such great care of us they informed and inspected every bike make sure fit us well the guy was great It took a little bit longer but we were glad they took their time to service us because we were going bike riding in the rain.
