    Meetone Breeze Pro, dual battery e-trike.

    Alec and all of the technicians, David in particular, are just outstanding. I bought an e-trike from a manufacturer other than what Bikes and Riders carry and they are still willing to provide mechanical support. I put a lot of miles on my e-trike traveling up and down a very steep road in our area. As a result, my trike is hard on the brakes. David has done an outstanding job of recommending better performing rotors and brake pads. I can't say enough about the personal support that they provide.

    Pace 500.4 e-bike

    My wife and I have been researching e-bikes for several years. We were interested in them, but did not want to give up our pedal-only bicycles. After looking into several brands for quality, pricing, and customer service we were leaning toward Aventon. After visiting several bicycle shops in California and Nevada, we were advised not to buy them over the internet, but to instead purchase them from a dealer so you had a place to return them for warranty service and needed repairs/tune-ups down the road. Unfortunately, we were not aware of any Aventon dealers in our area. However, we had subscribed to Aventon e-mails for quite some time and they sent us an e-mail with Aventon dealers in our area. We have lived in Rocklin since 1994 and were happy to discover an Aventon dealer only 5 minutes away from our house!!! Last Sunday (7/13) morning, we decided to visit the dealer to actually ride some Aventon e-bikes. We were first met by Gleb (who we later found out was one of the best mechanics on Aventon bikes in the area). We told him our situation and he said to ride as many different bikes (and not just Aventon either) as we wanted and to take our time. After we rode 2 different bikes, Alex (co-owner) came and spoke to us. We learned he had ridden professionally in Italy for years and participated in the Tour de France! He also insisted that we ride as many different bikes as possible to make sure we tried different models and sizes. He explained various aspects of different e-bikes. Both gentlemen were friendly, knowledgeable, informative, and patient. They both took the time to answer all of our questions and to explain everything to us. As we were there a few hours, we heard several other customers talk about how great the customer service was at this shop. They sold at least 4 bikes while we were there! After riding several e-bikes and talking to Gleb and Alex about the pros/cons of each, we ended up purchasing 2 Aventon Pace 500.4 e-bikes ourselves!!! It's so nice have a family-run business in our neighborhood.

What I experienced instead has been deeply disappointing. From the very beginning, the drivetrain did not function properly. Shifting was inconsistent and unreliable. I brought the bike back to the shop numerous times during the first year -- well within the stated one-year warranty period for drivetrain components. Each time, I was told the gears had been adjusted and that the issue was fixed. Each time, I would ride the bike and discover it was still not working properly. I travel frequently to ride, including trips to Colorado, and it is incredibly frustrating to arrive at a destination only to discover that a brand-new, top-tier bike still isn't functioning correctly. This was not a one-time complaint -- it was an ongoing issue from the beginning. As the one-year warranty period approached, I was told directly not to worry about the warranty expiring. I was assured that if we went beyond the 12 months and the drivetrain still wasn't resolved, they would "take care of it." I was explicitly told they would stand behind me and make it right. However, when we reached 16 months and the drivetrain issue was still unresolved, the response completely changed. I was then told there was nothing they could do because the bike was outside the warranty period. After a year of documented complaints and repeated visits during the warranty window, being told that the issue could not be addressed because of the calendar felt like a complete reversal of what I had been promised. The timing of the denial, after repeated attempts to fix the problem within the warranty period, left me feeling dismissed and unsupported. When you purchase a high-end bike at a premium price, you are not just buying components -- you are buying trust, service, and follow-through. In my experience, that trust was not honored. I cannot recommend this shop based on how this situation was handled. If you are considering a major purchase here, I strongly encourage you to get warranty commitments in writing, document every visit, and be extremely clear about how ongoing issues will be handled if they extend beyond stated warranty periods. Even if this were the last bike shop in Auburn, I would choose to drive elsewhere to work with a business that prioritizes accountability and standing behind its commitments. I have been a roder for 40 years.

They offered a variety of services, including a convenient pickup and drop‑off option for a small fee. Reviews also praised their mechanics, so we felt confident leaving the bike in their care. The bike needed two new tires (which we provided), brake service, and a new kickstand. The staff came to our home to pick up the bike, and the mechanic looked it over while discussing the needed work. We were told it would receive a Stage Two tune‑up, brake service, new brakes, new tires, and the upgraded kickstand. At that point, we felt good about the decision and trusted the shop. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once the bike was returned. 1. The bike was not returned on time. Not a major issue by itself, but it was the first sign of problems. 2. The under‑mount glow light was missing. I watched the mechanic load the bike with the light still attached. He said he would look for it and get back to us, but he never followed up. It felt like he didn't care that a $40 accessory had disappeared. He didn't offer to replace it nor offer a credit for the missing item. 3. The brakes were unsafe. My son had to adjust them himself because they were not set correctly when the bike came back. They still continue to not work correctly. 4. The mechanic mentioned a missing washer for the light. This raised more questions about how the bike was handled. The light has since detached from the bike, so now we need to find a new screw and washer that will work with the bike. 5. The upgraded kickstand and chain issues. The mechanic recommended a stronger kickstand to support the bike's weight, but soon after, the kickstand has broken and the chain snapped, so now the bike became unusable. Now, only a month later, the bike can't even be ridden. The light fell off, the chain broke, and the brakes are still unsafe. After spending around $393, we're left with a bike in worse condition than before and no resolution from the shop. We genuinely wanted to support this business, but our experience was extremely disappointing, and we feel cheated out of both the money and the repairs we expected

He was very informative about the products and promotions available during that time. I took some time to decide on what I wanted and ordered online. We went to go pick up my cargo roof box and rails. We wanted to have them install it for us initially but the services were not available due to the waitlist. I forgot the man's name who helped us but he quickly taught us how to put everything on our vehicle since it couldn't fit inside the car to take home. I would definitely would come back again since the customer service was amazing. I also got the best deal for my roof box compared to other places during the sale. They have a great selection of outdoor gear that I would like to buy. Store was clean and organized well. Thank you for your help in making the best decision especially for an expensive product.

Daniel at REI Roseville made a point of calling out my return history in front of other customers, claiming my shoes had "over 500 miles" on them based on nothing more than his own guess, and threatening to leave notes on my account. I've been a member of REI since 1992. He also referred to my returns as "appeasements," which tells you everything you need to know about his attitude toward customers. REI advertises a one-year satisfaction guarantee. What I got instead was a public lecture, a completely unnecessary attempt to embarrass me, and a manager acting like he was there to scold me rather than help. He told me, in front of other customers, that this was "not my first return recently," announced that my return rate was 50%, pointed out that I had bought the same shoe in another color, and said he would leave notes on my account. What he conveniently left out is that I often buy multiple sizes or colors and return what does not work - all brand new - which is completely normal. Lastly, this was only the second used item I've ever returned - since 1992. REI Roseville turned a longtime customer into someone who now plans to avoid big purchases, stop using them for ski mounts, and possibly cancel a membership. Embarrassing behavior from a manager, and an even worse look for the store.
