I made a temporary repair so I could continue using my bike for transportation and exercise. Today I called and the owner was helpful, asking me to bring the bike in. The new bike mechanic was also courteous and willing to assist. I appreciate the willingness to help and look forward to getting the bike properly fixed.

I have to be honest, I was a bit nervous looking at Mark's shop full of crazy cool customs. I thought he might blow me off. Mark did no such thing. He embraced my project, expressed true interest and asked me a several questions about what I wanted to do. Mark made some recommendations as we were talking and before I knew it...we had a project plan and budget worked up. Mark kept me posted throughout the project and made feel absolutely comfortable with the process and timeline. I just picked up my wife's bike, a little early and even a little under budget! I cannot tell you how impressed I am with the work. The powder coat is flawless and the pin striping is amazing! The bike looks like it could be a custom!!!!! My wife about cried when she saw it! I cannot say enough good things about Mark and his shop. It is only made better that he's a super-nice guy and his shop is local here in Folsom! Please stop by...he has so much to offer from parts to wheels, paint to full blown customs! He even has some slick BMX bikes that I wish I could have thrown my leg over way back in the dark ages when I raced!

The atmosphere is awesome, and it's clear they're passionate about supporting local skaters. The Retul technology he uses was pretty cool too, it creates a 1:1 replica of your bike on the computer and uses sensors placed all over your body to further optimize the fit. Highly recommend!

My husband had a recent fitting at AlthletiCamps and said it was totally worth it. Totally worth…read moreit! Being new to cycling and wanting to get the most out of his new road bike my husband decided to get professionally fitted by Bruce at Athleticamps on the recommendation of his local bike shop. During the initial phone conversation, Bruce was warm and friendly. He took some time to get to know my husband, his bike, and his overall goals, then scheduled his appointment. Bruce did a great job of explaining how the fit process works and what to expect during the appointment. He also directed him to his website, which clearly states his description of services. The appointment itself went great! Bruce made him feel comfortable right away. After some friendly small talk, Bruce got to work setting up my husband's bike on the indoor trainer while he changed in the private bathroom. Then Bruce did an evaluation of his overall body structure, looking at things like how he stands, how he walks, how he balances, etc. My husband mentioned that he is fairly new to biking seriously and that he sometimes experiences numb feet while riding. Bruce explained how this is common due to the build of cycling shoes and offered a solution of custom-made insole inserts. he loved this idea and chose to opt in to include this in the fitting. This was an add-on service and cost an additional $95 (well worth it if you ask him.) My husband got on the bike and was fitted with electrodes on both sides of his body. He reported that seeing the data on the screen was so cool! Bruce did a great job of walking him through what he was looking at and what everything meant. Bruce watched my husband pedal from all angles including showing a video of him pedaling. Bruce checked in continually asking questions about comfort and feel. In no time, Bruce made several adjustments to my husband's bike and cleats that made an enormous impact! How my husband felt on the bike leaving the fitting was completely different than he felt at the beginning. The adjustments made him feel like he had much better control over the bike and better command of the bike. He was far more comfortable with better posture and reported that he even looked different on the bike. The service costs $295 (plus tax) plus the additional $95 for the custom-made inserts (again, worth it.) All in all, this was a 5-star experience! Bruce is a terrific individual with infectious positivity. Yes, it's well worth a few hundred dollars.

I live in Midtown Sacramento, 6 blocks from Mikes Bikes Who have been very good over the years, but…read moreexpensive. I decided to give Natomas Bike a shot, as I like to support small businesses. My past two visits however have put me off ever dealing with them again, in particular because of the owner John. I recently needed my brakes tightened, and the derailleurs needed attention as I was unable to drop into the lower gear. I left it with them, was quoted $50 , and came in to collect it 4 days later. $50 all of a sudden became $60 when John found the bill. I paid with comment, but as we were leaving the store I noticed that the rear tire was flat, and I brought to his attention immediately. I pointed out to him that this had happened to me the last time I brought my bike in. He then became very defensive, but offered to replace the tube, at my cost, I said I'd be back in 2 hours. It wasn't ready two hours later, and he became defensive, and I felt as if he was blaming me. Another $20 later, I then tested the bike in the lot, and the gear problem was still there, it had not been fixed. I was so livid by this point I didn't want to take the bike back to him, and face more confrontation. I've been in Customer Service all my working life, over 40 years, and his customer disservice has brought me here to warn others on what to expect. I'm taking my bike back to Mikes in future. It may cost me more, but at least they treat me courteously and get the job done first time.
