Monster Joes Mobile Bike Service

Hi. I'm JACK LYONS, and I must tell you that Monster Joes Mobile Bike Service is more than just…read moreOUTSTANDING! You see, I have been in and out of bike shops for over 60 years; most have been satisfactory and more. BUT, Monster Joes is head and shoulders above all others. I'm fortunate to have discovered these superstars . They're the bee's knees, the cat's meow, the doggie's bow wow.

In March 2026, we searched several bike shops to find a reliable place to service our son's e‑bike…read more After reading many positive reviews, we chose Lincoln Cyclery. They offered a variety of services, including a convenient pickup and drop‑off option for a small fee. Reviews also praised their mechanics, so we felt confident leaving the bike in their care. The bike needed two new tires (which we provided), brake service, and a new kickstand. The staff came to our home to pick up the bike, and the mechanic looked it over while discussing the needed work. We were told it would receive a Stage Two tune‑up, brake service, new brakes, new tires, and the upgraded kickstand. At that point, we felt good about the decision and trusted the shop. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once the bike was returned. 1. The bike was not returned on time. Not a major issue by itself, but it was the first sign of problems. 2. The under‑mount glow light was missing. I watched the mechanic load the bike with the light still attached. He said he would look for it and get back to us, but he never followed up. It felt like he didn't care that a $40 accessory had disappeared. He didn't offer to replace it nor offer a credit for the missing item. 3. The brakes were unsafe. My son had to adjust them himself because they were not set correctly when the bike came back. They still continue to not work correctly. 4. The mechanic mentioned a missing washer for the light. This raised more questions about how the bike was handled. The light has since detached from the bike, so now we need to find a new screw and washer that will work with the bike. 5. The upgraded kickstand and chain issues. The mechanic recommended a stronger kickstand to support the bike's weight, but soon after, the kickstand has broken and the chain snapped, so now the bike became unusable. Now, only a month later, the bike can't even be ridden. The light fell off, the chain broke, and the brakes are still unsafe. After spending around $393, we're left with a bike in worse condition than before and no resolution from the shop. We genuinely wanted to support this business, but our experience was extremely disappointing, and we feel cheated out of both the money and the repairs we expected

Trek Bicycle Folsom - This is the Giant Revolt 2 I should thank Trek's horrible customer service for helping me find. It rides SO much better than the Checkpoint.

I honestly don't think it's possible to write a negative enough review for this place. It all…read morestarted with me returning my FX 2 and using my Roscoe 7 as a trade in to get a Checkpoint ALR 3. They didn't have the Checkpoint in stock so they ordered it and told me it would show up in a week. 9 days went by so I called to check in and see if they had an ETA since the bike was two days late at that point. It was then that I was told by an employee that the bike had north of a month long backorder. The employee seemed surprised that the manager who sold me the Checkpoint didn't tell me that it was backordered. At this point, I was not OK with having been deceived into this deal so I said I wanted my bikes back or a cash refund. I went in to the Trek store the day after my phone call with the employee and the manager lied to my face saying he didn't know there was a backorder. Nice try. I work for an auto dealership. We can see when cars and parts are backordered. A couple days went by and the employee called me again last Tuesday to inform me that they had found a bike in Tennessee and could have it in my hands by the weekend and asked if I wanted the bike or store credit. I chose the bike. The weekend came and went and still no bike so my brother called on my behalf since I didn't have time to call today 4/27/2026 and they told him the bike would show up tomorrow but would not be able to be built until Friday because their "builder" is out until then. More lies. Anybody in that store could build the bike. I know this because everyone in the El Dorado Hills store builds bikes. At this point, I now have a Giant Revolt 2 (I strongly suggest trying that bike) that will be my bike and I will be selling the Checkpoint for cash when I have it in hand because I am 100% done with Trek. I will be having it inspected by a trusted shop first before I sell it though because I now don't trust Trek Folsom to not sabotage the bike since I have been very clear about my displeasure both in this review and the survey I got in an email. I will NEVER do business with Trek again and will do everything in my power to direct everyone I meet away from Trek. This Checkpoint would have been my 4th Trek bike and after this experience, it will be my last for sure. Nice going guys. You drove away someone who was planning to ride your bikes for life! Great business! Anyway, if you want an awesome gravel bike, go to Mike's Bikes in Folsom and check out the Giant Revolt 2. I should probably be thanking Trek because had it not been for this experience, I never would have wound up with a far superior bike. Anyway, negative 1,000,000 stars for these guys.
