Man, I found another gem in the cycling world. I got my first flat today and thought I was prepared, but my valve stem was too short for my carbon wheels. I was right by the Fair Oaks Bridge on the American River Trail, half a mile away from this shop I had seen before but never stopped at. I had to decide if I was going to walk or call for a ride. I ended up walking, took my cycling shoes off and went in socks haha, not too bad actually. Fortunately, Adaman was there and had exactly what I needed. I caught him in the middle of something, but he still took the time to help and even replaced the tube for me, which I really appreciated. He also pointed me in the right direction for a proper pump and spare tube so I don't run into this again. I'll definitely be back, maybe even to look into a bike upgrade down the road. And once they get coffee and beer going, I'll for sure be stopping in more often. Thanks again for getting me back on the road. read more

I took my 30 year old Cannondale road bike to Biker Bar to get checked out and hopefully tuned up. They gave it a super thorough checkout and quoted me a fair price for the needed repairs, but was way more than I want to put into an old bike... But the guys at the shop were super cool... I got to test drive a Cannondale (I think it was a Synapse 3) and it was a lot of fun... I'll buy my next bike(s) here for sure. I've not been to their store before today, but am glad I found it. Got the front and rear derailleurs adjusted on my bikes with these guys. Dropped the bikes off and got a call the next day that they were done and ready to be picked up. Very fast service which is very nice. The only problem I had is at the time when I brought the bikes in I was quoted 15$ per one derailleur adjustment which would be 60$ total for 2 bikes but at the time of pickup the guy told me the price is 20$ which brings the total to 80$. No bid deal just kind of felt like a bait and switch situation. But still the guys did their job and adjusted everything. Would recommend this place just make sure the price they quote you is the price that you pay at the end read more

I stumbled upon this family owned and operated business after a long bike ride after crossing the Fair Oaks Bridge which ends up in the friendly Fair Oaks Village. The first time we stopped by we met Allison and she was very helpful. I told her that I already had an e-bike, but was not happy with the tires and the lack of stability on the bike. Allison showed me some of the bikes in stock and then preceded to show me bikes that were better suited for me and my height. She was very helpful and advised me on the different types of bikes and the features of several of the bikes that had in stock and also ones they could order. We decided to think about it. Less than a week later, after researching other bikes and bike shops, we decided to return to the Biker Bar and met with Adamen and he stated that Allison was his wife and they are the owners. I was able to find the perfect fit for my height of 5'4" and he let me sit on the bike to find it was a good fit for me and made me feel safer. The bike also had the fat tires I was looking for, so I decided to upgrade to this safer bike for me and I also purchased a front basket. The temperature on this day was 104% and I was hesitent to ride the bike home in this uncomfortable heat, not to mention that I suffer from heat sensitivity. He offered free of charge to deliver the bike to my home in Carmichael and I was very grateful, as I did not have a way to take the bike home in this heat. Long story short, my bike was delivered to my home in Carmichael and is safely stored in my garage. Once the weather cools down, I look forward to taking an enjoyable and relaxing bike ride feeling much more safe with an upgraded bike. read more

We were looking for a shop that carries ebikes to sell, not only to sell but also able to maintain them as well. We've been to a few here and there but nothing that made us say wow. So we ran into biker bar and cafe on Friday and browse through their bikes and my wife and I fell in love with a potential ebikes for us. Very helpful staff and knowledgeable. We even got to test ride them. So come Saturday we called them if they still have the bikes and to our luck they still do!!! So we said we'll be right over to purchase our two Magnum pathfinder and now we loved it!!!! After less than an hour of dropping off my bike, Randy in maintenance called to explain what he found before he made any repairs and he quoted me a price. Adrian is a great Mechanic he fixed my bike it was not shifting correctly and he got it fixed within the same day for only $20. I know if I took it to another bike shop it would have not been fixed the same day and probably twice as much. Got a response from biker bar and their response was so weak. Yes we had an agreement to have it done within five days, but I went in two hours before you closed and you still had not touched it. Was your agreement to have it done one minute before you close one minute before our agreement was to expire? One minute before it is too late for me to pick up and take on vacation? Every time I talked to biker bar, they were very vague and could give no times or a completion schedule. All they said was it would be done before we close on Saturday. So then what time exactly is that? Their time? Any conversation with them during my terrible experience seemed so empty and unfulfilling. Never ever heard from them unless I contacted them I waited two hours before I had to have my bike which they knew about and they still had not touched it. And two hours before the bike was supposed to be done when I was down there the gentleman told me he knew what it was the whole time and it was a quick fiix. I see no attempt at customer satisfaction at all. What would you think? read more

Adamen, Randy and Adrian are the best. I have taken my road bike here for service several time a and always have felt they have provided the best service for a fair price. Everyone seems very knowledgeable about a wide range of bikes. Recently, my wife and I decided that we wanted to try E-Bikes and they were all very patient with us and our indecision. We were able to try three or four different models and never felt pressured to make a decision. We felt like we were given time and space to make a decision that worked for us. Randy was super helpful in our decision making and give us a couple of minor suggestions to make the bikes we purchased even better. Chain was slipping on my road bike. Brought it in on a Friday and was riding again on Saturday. Changed my cassette and chain and was a big improvement. The price was fair and they had it finished when they said they would. Also, they had adjusted my front and rear derailleurs and the shifting was perfect, which in my experience is not always the case after I pick up my bike at other places. I also plan on them changing my chain rings or crankset as next repair and a also a tune up of bike. The shop is very cool, nice people, in great neighborhood. I brought my old road bike in on the recommendation of a friend to see if it could be serviced back into riding condition. The shifters were completely gummed up and unusable and the bottom bracket was shot. They were able to clean the shifters into working condition and then replace the bracket along with other parts necessary to get me back on the road. Everyone that I dealt with was helpful, informative and friendly. Even though it might have made more sense to buy a new bike, my budget dictated otherwise, and I appreciated that they were willing and able to get the bike back in riding condition without pushing me to buy a new bike. read more
