I've seen this place while taking my girls to gymnastics and finally stopped in today...TWICE! I got a coffee in the morning for my husband and a couple smoothies with my kids after school. My first visit was to get some tires for an old Trek bike. Bryan was very helpful. Later on when I decided to get a new bike I went back to Team Cycle. Bryan was very helpful and patient. He brought out several bikes for me to try. I spent hours riding and eliminating all but 2 bikes. I was never rushed or pushed into a price point. I purchased my bike and have enjoyed all of the help from Bryan. From quick adjustments to questions, Bryan is genuine and candid. I purchased my first full suspension bike today. Again great experience and great atmosphere. This is the type of shop to support with your business. Because of Covid-19 businesses have modified hours but that didn't stop this business from giving stellar service. Team Cycle is also a coffee shop and it was open as well. I was looking for an E-mtn bike so I stopped in and had a great experience. Of course have a mask and wear it. The owner greeted me and offer some advice on some coffee while I gave my ideas for the kind of bike I was looking for. He personally let me test ride his bike and well as other bikes. He gave me an unbiased opinion of each bike, pros and cons and didn't pressure me in any way to make a purchase. I was looking at spending 6k and he made me feel like we just buddies talking about bikes, giving me his personal advice so I had the best information to make my choice. He invited me to join his Tuesday bike rides with his group and really just made a genuine impact. If your looking for a bike (any kind), gear, or service get in the car, visit the shop, bring your mask and check them out. Get a coffee while there, talk bikes and test ride something. This bicycle shop is among The shops that gained my trust for new builds and repairs. I've had my bikes worked on in shops around Folsom, Fair Oaks, Sacramento, El Dorado Hills and Elk Grove. Never went back to them because Their work Was "so so" and as high quality as Brian's. I feel small shops like Brian have a more personalized touch and friendly atmosphere. Let me breakdown the things I like about this bike shop: Prices and Fees: The fees were not either too low or too high just the right price compared to the other bike shops near Folsom, EDH and Shingle Springs. I usually do my homework when it comes to my budget. The work that he did for me was pretty significant (two bike builds out of a box 2018 Santa Cruz Nomad C S and Bronson C S, disc brake bleeding on my Fat Bike, disc brake issue on A Specialized Fuse). I'd go back to this shop again for repairs. I cannot say anything about the products he sell as I have not bought anything yet from him as there was no need or Brian doesn't get pushy to sell you his stuff at the store. Customer Service: Brian was helpful, pays attention to details and does not BS his way so he can justify his price. Whatever price he quotes you that's how much he charges. No surprises after you bring in your bike. He also gave me an update thru text message if the bike is ready or needs more time to get completed. One of the things I like about this shop is that Brian did not turned me away even though I came in around the time the shop was about to close. He let me come in and inspected the parts inside the boxes, checked if all the parts was there and gave me a quote. Took about 15 minutes to complete. Brian took his time to go through my stuff even though his closing time was up. Didn't feel rushed at all. He also doesn't up-sell you products or gets pushy about selling things in his bike shop. He offers good advice and really know his stuff. Speed and Quality of service: Brian gets it done fast and quality of his work is absolutely phenomenal! Two of the bike builds Got completed ahead of schedule without compromising quality. Cleanliness and Professionalism: His work area is squeaky clean and most of his tools are what the pro uses (Park Tool). Overall, I'd definitely recommend and refer my friends and family to Brian. Was trying to put this off honestly. Sometimes I just prefer to let places figure things out. I really hope they read their Yelp reviews and take their business serious, especially knowing why this shop was opened. For a very good cause. First time I visited back late 2013 I needed brake cable, housing, and housing ferrules. In total, about 6' of cable and housing. The total was $35. I questioned the price of each and sure enough, the agitated and somewhat arrogant gentleman backed out the prices and mentioned he had them logged incorrectly. Again, this is for cable and housing, and the ferrules, which are quiet cheap anywhere else. I was being charged $3/ft for cable and housing. $18 for 6' of brake cable is simply robbery. Ferrules are typically $5 for a dozen or so but I was charged $1.25 ea and I bought four. Irritated because I would have needed to drive another 10 miles to the next closest shop, I bought everything for $30.10 after tax, after he 'adjusted' his prices. All of this would have cost me approx $15-25 at other shops and about $10 online. Another time I visited around March 2014 I wanted an entry level full sus mtn bike for my son at the time he was 15. Bikes they had started quite higher than what I knew they sold for anywhere else. I've mtn biked for over 25 yrs, I do know enough about pricing to know this shop was not taking itself serious. The gentleman who helped me didn't seem qualified enough. Nice guy, no issue with the service. They sold Yeti, Focus, Haro and maybe one or two others. I can say with all honesty I've never seen anyone riding these brands where I ride which is all over NorCal. I know Yeti's are high end but there are better built and performing rigs out there. This time though, the gentleman was much more approachable and we even spoke a bit about bikes, where I ride, what I ride, etc. I have visited this place a few other times looking for small parts or tires. Those other times I recall one person who helped me was holding down the entire place on her own. She had to call someone to ask if they had what I needed - a grease gun. $15/REI, she was told they could order one but they're like $75. Why not just say you can't get me one? Another time I went there I needed a tire, knowing full well they wouldn't have Schwalbe. Of course she had to call someone, they could order it, however, it was well above what I would ever pay for it. I have purchased other smaller items like presta valve adapters to fit air compressor nozzle, or tubes. Both priced quite a bit higher than the next shop. I'm not slamming this place. I'm sure it is hard enough owning a small business. I would just look for another more established shop. Folsom Bike, Mike's, and if you don't mind the drive go to Hub Cycles in Roseville. Great place if you want Yeti, Focus, Haro, tubes, patch kits, smoothies, coffee. In fact, this place could be so much more. Great in concept, not the most desirable brands, and execution is bad. My guess is that if they offered more well known brands, more entry level, mid-level, it would be better off. Maybe they do sell quite a few bikes - only they know. read more

Looks like a nice clean place. If you are a regular hard core biker and go to this place often it might work out ok. If you are a regular joe trying to ask a question for your kids bike or make a purchase. Here is the low down , Bike side.... No one is there y tim the evening. First 6-8 hours of the day they are open but only as a coffee shop. No one around to help or ask questions to. Basically it's a coffee shop with a crap load of bike stuff as decor Coffee shop. Staff member does t greet you, doesn't smile or make small talk while you are staring at her as she is making your items. The person was very slow and I am sure it felt slower due to lack of interaction. I feel bad I personally saw 2 other customers the only ones they had besides me leave after waiting about 5 minutes with no greet. I would not go back I guess the point might be you order go look for a bike to purchase but then again there was no one their to talk about bikes with so that can't be the plan. I am not sure bummed for them. They lost a few part purchases from me on the bike side and 2 drink or what ever purchases for the food. Sandwich that I ended up getting was burnt and not too great.my take or advice go across to the other coffee shop if your looking for coffee or a bite to eat. It was a real pleasure to collaborate with a top-notch mechanic willing to spend the time to discuss options, offer advice and then install and adjust the parts I chose for my custom builds. Brian offers personal, friendly service that you may not find at large bicycle emporiums. He carries Focus road and mountain bikes, which are high-end, Tour-tested German bikes, as well as moderately priced Haro mountain bikes and children's models. Prices for service and parts are fair. But the privilege of being about to actively participate in the building process was priceless. read more

I first went into this store to get a coffee and a few months later, I found myself buying a bike! This place is a local gem! Honestly, probably the best bike store in the area; and there are several. I am just now getting back into cycling and am grateful to Brian for the wonderful customer service. He has gone above and beyond, going over everything from checking tire pressure to showing me how to change a flat, and giving me other tips along the way. I purchased a Masi cyclocross bike for road and trail versatility and it is fantastic. By far the best bike for the money I have ever owned.
