Back in February I had a short time to plan a memorial dinner for my late father. The staff at Trattoria Locanda are by far the kindest, outgoing, professional people I've ever met. The food and service my family received was top notch. They are truly good people who take pride in their restaurant. Highly recommend. read more

We went on very busy and rainy Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy including folks eating at the small, attractive bar. We had a rez for four and were quickly seated. The waitstaff was attentive throughout the evening - drinks and food were delivered timely. A man who appeared to be the owner was on the floor the entire time we were there checking on things and speaking with diners. The food we had was good. We ordered Scallops with Risotto, Salmon and Chicken Sorrentino We didn't order coffee or dessert. Overall I would recommend. read more

An amazing meal and the staff are so friendly. I will be back. When my parents past we brought friends and family and all of us were treated kind. I was not rushed at all. Thank you read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! Probably the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in my life. It took FOREVER for them to seat us even though we had a reservation. After finally being seated, which required the staff to maneuver multiple tables and patrons around, we then proceeded to wait over an hour to be served our food. Not once did we receive an apology, and to make matters worse the food we had waited so long for was quite underwhelming. Goodnight. read more

A trip to Trattoria Locondas is always a guaranteed great night out with awesome food and tonight did not disappoint. The owner and staff were on top of their game as always. There is not enough that can be said to say how special this place really is. read more

We were looking to try someplace new for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, and we came upon this place in the list. We looked at the menu, and we were hooked. Most of the other restaurants in the area had relatively few choices for apps and entrees - but this place not only had several options - the options were not the typical low-priced entrees that other restaurants offered. We came in on Sunday around 6:00PM - and it was almost full. We got the last available table. Our waitress Ashley was somewhat new, but what she lacked in experience, she made up for in enthusiasm and excellent service. No matter what we needed, she was right there with a smile! (Thanks, Ashley - you really did make our evening even more special!) We decided to order a bottle of wine, so we settled on a reasonably priced Montalpulciano, which was perfect with our meal. We ordered the Clams Oreganata and the Fried Calamari to start. Both were delicious - and in fact the fried calamari was perfectly cooked - which is usually hard to find. The dipping sauce was spicy but flavorful, and added just enough of a kick The clams were full of actual clams - and the breading was light and flavorful. They also had the most delicious warm rolls and garlic dipping sauce. I am glad they only brought 4 to our table - I could have had many, many more. For our entrees we ordered the Chicken Sorrentino and the Veal Osso Buco. Both were absolutely full of incredible flavor and delicious. I decided to take half of my chicken home, so I would have room for dessert. NY style cheesecake and tiramisu, along with a couple of espressos, rich with crema, ended our amazing meal. We are so glad this place participated in restaurant week, or we might never have discovered it. We'll definitely be back - hopefully soon!!! read more

I met a life long friend in Fishkill for a well deserved two days of no plans. We had dinner at Trattoria Locanda. It was amazing! The decor and ambiance felt like I was back in Italy! We shared a bottle of wine - J Lore October Night. She had the Shrimp Franchise which she love and I had the Chicken Sorrentio. The chicken was amazing!!!!! Two chicken breasts topped with a thin slice of prosciutto, egg plant & mozzarella in dark white wine sauce. It was so good, I wanted the recipe! The chef wouldn't share!! The service was great! Splurge!!! I can't say enough good about this restaurant! Coming from central Jersey, that's a great compliment because we have the very best Italian food anywhere! read more

Best place ever! I came here for a private party and will return here because of the food, service and the nicest owner ever. Our waitress was very attentive to ALL of us....there were 60 of us....two of them and we wanted for nothing!!!! The food had everyone talking the next day about how good it was. We had a choice between Salmon, Eggplant Rollatini, Chicken Marsala and Ribeye steak. With 60 people in attendance....everyone loved their food and their choice! It was AMAZING!!!! The owner spoke with us all and stayed in the room with our party the entire time. Oh and their is a sauce on the plate for the ribeye.....you will want to lick the plate! LOL its THAT good!!! Magnificent experience. Will return soon! read more

Food was excellent. They appeared a little short staffed. Water and bread took awhile, wait staff was busing tables. Ribeye presentation on wood board was clever but too crowded. Steak juices ran onto table. Just the difference between 4 and 5 stars. Will definitely be back. read more

This small restaurant is on Main Street in the scenic town of Fishkill New York. Our crowd of fifty for a rehearsal dinner pretty much took up the whole place. Now, let me tell you, I hail from St. Louis Missouri and grew up on delicious authentic Italian cuisine from the Hill (aka Little Italy). Trattoria Laconda rivals the best. We were warmly welcomed by the owners who were ever present to make sure everything went smoothly and their patrons received excellent service. Now, for the food...our menu was predetermined by the hosting family, and they made some excellent choices. We started with a trio of appetizers...melt in your mouth fresh baked yeast rolls with olive oil for dipping. The best caprese salad I've ever tasted and calamari. I personally don't care for calamari, but everyone that tried it said it was great. Next comes penna alla vodka...OMG so delicious and a Caesar salad. Choice of 3 different entrees...chicken Marsala, ribeye, or eggplant Parmesan for our vegetarians. Everyone raved about their choice. The grand finale was petite serving of tiramisu served with robust coffee. Not espresso...just darn good coffee. Perfect ending to a perfect meal. Thank you Trattoria Laconda for making our special event a memorable one. read more

Atmosphere looks really nice but unfortunately both service and food were subpar on a Saturday night. Service: Sat at the bar with my boyfriend and the young bartender was not friendly or attentive. We were waiting on water and for him to take our food order while he chatted with another woman employee for example. We ordered the restaurant's special piccata and the veal however both entrees were tasteless. My piccata needed salt. Parmesan was not freshly grated but taken from a bowl. Extremely disappointing. Additionally the bartender let us know the entrees would come with a garden salad. When he came back with just our entrees he said oh sorry, we are out of salad for the night. What kind of restaurant is out of salad?!! He also did not attempt to give us a replacement or alternative item. Disappointing and would not recommend. Avoid. read more

The food was fantastic. The restaurant was accommodating - we came in soon before their break time, and they sat us, didn't rush us, and provided excellent service. Friendly staff & delicious food - would recommend. read more

Trattoria Locanda - Locanda special - Italian Near Me - Fishkill, New York

I booked a private event at Trattoria Locanda and had the best possible experience! Kathy was wonderful to work with; prompt, communicative, organized, accommodating, the list goes on. The food options we chose were the New York strip, eggplant parm and chicken Marsala and family members who got each one were raving about their entrees as well as all the apps (specifically the bruschetta had rave reviews!). We had 4 crazy toddlers with our party and the staff couldn't have been more understanding and patient. Can't wait to come back. Highly highly recommend! read more

Pretty good Italian restaurant. We have come a few times and have been pleased with the dishes. The pricing is very reasonable.

O-M-G!! This place is freaking amazing!! I was looking for a local (to Fishkill) upscale feeling restaurant and boy Trattoria totally fits the bill. The minute you walk in the place just screams upscale ambiance. You don't have to wear a jacket and tie but if you visit on a summer day in shorts and t-shirt you probably will feel out of place so come with pants. Staff greets you at door and makes you feel like a celebrity in this middle of nowhere town called Fishkill. Staff was great during my visit and food was so freaking amazing. The entire experience here will take about a decent two hours I'd say (I didn't exactly time it) but it wasn't a fast visit so this definitely fits the bill for a perfect date spot. I mean seriously if you bring a gal here the last thing you want is fast food service...nah you want to enjoy the meal and gaze into the eyes of that beauty across the table that you may have brought out for the evening. So you want to take your time. Salads arrived about 15 mins after we ordered and actual main courses arrived I'd say about 45 mins later. While that might seem long for some people I like to think that if my food is taking forever to come it's not a bad sign, it means the chef is making it relatively fresh (not frozen food). I ordered the lasagna and my date for the evening ordered a lobster ravioli with both dishes tasting absolutely mouth watering. I savored every bite of my lasagna, slowly yet gently placing every bite on my tongue...eventually my mouth reached full orgasm! OMG, so good! If the food was anymore good I may have screamed "YES!" at my table and ducked from embarrassment. LOL! Seriously this place is amazing! read more

The interior was beautifully decorated for the holidays and felt so cozy and inviting. The staff was friendly and the food was very good. I had a perfectly cooked filet mignon but wish I'd known it was served on a bed of white sauce. I didn't care much for that. However, for dessert I had an excellent cup of coffee and a decadent slice of cheesecake that I couldn't get enough of. It was so creamy and rich. Absolutely delicious! read more

Just want to say if I could give 10 stars I would. We just walked out and I wanted to write this review while my husband drives because it was THAT good. My husband stated his steak was the best he has *ever* had. I got the Broccoli, Prosciutto, Provolone stuffed chicken special and OMG! So good. I'm not a big chicken person but it was AMAZING. Also the stand out of the meal was actually our server Ariane. He was funny, personable and above all kind and genuine. He told us family stories about an uncle who travels abroad and beer, and his father coming to the country and starting from the bottom like the owner of the restaurant whom my husband has heard of. Our entire meal was less than $130 for a rib eye special that was HUGE, a chicken special, a soup and two salads. Also their fresh made bread and ZUCCHINI/GARLIC/EVOO sauce is amazing. 10/10. Will be back shortly. read more

So happy we found Locanda. We've only ever had take away from here but each time has been excellent. Highly recommend the chicken parm, chicken scarpariello, locanda special and the Sorrentino. Get it with the pasta and same sauce. You won't regret it! My only gripe? Sometimes they forget to include the bread... and the bread is so delicious and warm. Looking forward to dining in - will be taking my mom there for her birthday in a few days! read more

A friend of mine dined at this establishment on Saturday. It was our first time and our decision was made based on the online menu. Will start with the positive. Lovely atmosphere and friendly greeting at the door. We placed our order and received the wine rather quickly; however, it took 90 minutes to receive our salad. Another 30 minutes until our main meal arrived. Food was mediocre. Never in the 2 hours did someone (waitress, owner, or bus boy) approach us to explain why the delay. We never complained but felt invisible. As they say a 'little' kindness goes a long way. We would have been happy with an apology or perhaps a free dessert??? We left feeling disappointed and neglected. read more

It's been an hour and We didn't even get my foooood yet, and I'm giving 2 stars! I know what your thinking , " this guy is hangry!" Excellent! After our fourth time here, I'm finally writing a review. The decor is perfect. Exposed brick and floor to ceiling wine racks. Professional wait staff that knows how to treat a guest. This is a solid restaurant owned by the same guy who owns Cena 2000 on the Newburgh waterfront, the steak house across the street from this place, and a few other restaurants. I thought it was a bit pretentious for my taste, and service was just okay, but the overall experience wasn't bad. The chef kept coming out and talked with all of the tables present which was a nice touch. The bread basket consisted of this dark bread with a little garlic stuffed inside which was kinda weird, and because we had eaten earlier we skipped the appetizer. I didn't really like the menu so I just got eggplant rollitini. I almost acted like a dick and ordered in Italian (involitini di melanzane), but thankfully I was nice as whileour waitress couldn't pronounce Italian names for shit, she was nice enough. My eggplant rollitini was good but not great, and the quality ingredients they used carried it for the most part. My main criticism of the dish was that it did not need narly as much mozzarella as they put on top, if any at all. But the tomato sauce was bright and flavorful, the eggplant rolls very well constructed, and the ricotta was good but could've come out a bit more fresher in the dish. The proscuitto they added inside the rolls was largely an afterthought, but did add a textural element. This is a solid restaurant for the Hudson Valley, and it lived up to my expectations. A lot of restaurants up here try to live up to the "we're on par with NYC" hype, and this one succeds. Not gonna change your life by eating here, but its solid Italian cooking. read more

This is a tough review to write. Upon entry to this beautiful restaurant I was greeted by what I believe was the owner. I was seated at the bar and it took a few minutes until I was greeted by the bartender. This point I was in no hurry and wanted to enjoy a good meal. A good meal was had and the food was fabulous. But be prepared to wait if you're not a local. I waited 15 minutes to get served a cocktail and was never asked again for a refill. I then waited another 20 minutes until I got my bread and salad. And approximately 45 minutes later until I finally got my meal The owner seemed more concerned with sitting with his buddies and drinking wine than taking care of customers. There were only about 20 people dining in the restaurant and at least six employees bartending and or serving. It's definitely a locals facility and they cater to them as it is self evident Definitely need a class in customer service read more
