We arrived for a late dinner after traveling all day. Husband ordered lasagna and I ordered the angel hair pesto. Both dishes were delicious! The bread and our salads very good as well. Fresh crisp greens, red onions and tomatoes. Garlic knots and sesame crusted bread hot and delicious. Awesome service very quick and attentive. You walk through the bar where there were many locals sitting enjoying meals. We sat in the dining room which was cozy and quiet. Highly recommend this place we will be back. read more

So had dinner on a Thursday night and only a few tables were in use. I did notice 7 orders for pickup so maybe they do a good take out business. Started with baked clams oreganato 6 smaller clams arrived but had decent flavor. Oh before I forget the bread basket had 2 garlic knots and some Italian bread which I thought was cool. Now we ordered Chicken Masala over angel hair pasta and a 16 oz ribeye special with roasted potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. OK so both mains were delicious but the steak was cooked as requested medium rare. No A1, no extra sauce nothing it was seasoned perfectly as were the roasted potato wedges. The picture doesn't show how good it was. Our server was nice and the food came out in pretty good time. The review would have gotten 5 stars but I get a little pissed when certain things happen. 1-sorry to say a pesky fruit fly buzzed around us and was disposed of in mid flight. 2- charging $4 for using a debit card? If cards are a problem then put up a sign saying cash only. Or out the $4 in the menu prices but I didn't like that after paying $113 for 2 people to eat. 3- don't be afraid to ask the prices of the specials. My ribeye steak special was $50, which is fine because the steak was awesome. Maybe it's me but these little things irk me. Very disappointed in the cook on Sunday at 3:30 PM. January 15, 2023. I ordered a Lasagna. It came out Luke Warm. I called the server over and reported it was cold. They sent it back to the kitchen. It came out about five minutes later, and again it was Luke Warm. How hard is it to put in the oven and warm it up. The cheese was not bubbling. I asked to take it home. Delicious food. And completely consistent. This is my third trip to Antonella's Hyde Park location ...this time with 6 people. Calamari - excellent... It was the breading... (Very lightly done )that made it so great. Also, the sauce was not overdone. Shrimp scampi... very good. Just the right amount of lemon. Chicken parmigiana...very good ... large portion. Rigatoni with vegetables... very good ... Grilled Chicken over salad... very good and another large portion ( of chicken). Marinade for grill was perfect Small plain pizza... crispy crust and sauce/cheese done right Meat ball sub... again, large... Looked pretty normal, but the diner wolfed down. Salad for all... fresh with fresh vegetables. Very good Service was great... when it kind of came time to be served, there were four people who brought the food so no one had to wait. Pretty sure one of them was the chef. And last, but not least very reasonably priced. Don't let the simple decor, throw you... It's simple pizza parlor decor all the way. Ordered $80 worth of food and had it delivered using the slice app. One of the five items I ordered was completely wrong. Restaurant refused to do anything but refund for the one item. No offer to re-deliver the correct item stating they had no drivers and I should contact "slice". "Slice" did not package the order, Antonellas did. "Slice" is only the delivery service. Normally I am understanding about these things, however I was hung up on twice and needed to call back a third time to confirm at least the refund of the one item, and the topper...I was specifically told they didn't need me as a customer. Fine, you've lost this customer forever. I hope the owner reads these reviews. read more

Amazing! This place is great!! (When they don't run out of clams!) Came here on a Sunday when they first opened to place a decent order for about 8 people, but sadly they were out of clams. We ordered the shrimp scampi, zuppa di muscles, zuppa di pesce, margherita pizza, calamari pasta and some other dishes as well as garlic bread and knots*. Each dinner size portion also comes with salad to complete your meal. Food was great! We also enjoyed the food catered. The baked clams that we couldn't have were amazing and ran out in no time and the rest of the food was on par with our first experience. Eggplant rollatini/parmagiana, shrimp scampi, stuffed mushrooms, penne, chicken marsala and more. Sometimes it's hard to make larger portions of food still taste good, but Antonella's did a great job. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back here again if I'm up in that area! *some garlic knots and regular italian bread come with the meal, but if you want more, they sell them 6 for $1.75. read more

Ordered lunch on 4/10/22 for delivery through Grubhub (note Antonella's has its own drivers and does not use Grubhub drivers. So I was unable to track via the Grubhub app. ) Got a text message saying that my order should arrive between 1:05 pm and 1:15 pm. At 1:30 pm I called the store to find out where the order was. I was then told that Antonella's canceled the order due to having no delivery drivers. However, they never let me know that the ordered had been canceled. The person I was talking to on the phone from Antonella's then out me on hold and apparently called Grubhub who then called me and finally informed me of the cancellation. read more

Antonellas has great food! I've never been disappointed. Servings are generous, service friendly, and a wide variety of delicious entrees! This complaint is about the delivery service, not the food which was good - not great, just good. I placed a delivery order from Antonella's through Grubhub (I've already contacted GH with this issue and they said that the driver was from Antonella's, although GH did say that they would be following up. I wanted to let Antonella's know of the issue in case they do not.) As I said, I placed a delivery order on 10/17/2021 through Grubhub. My delivery preferences include no contact delivery and I am very specific that I want my order(s) placed in front of my garage and for the driver to text me when they have done so. On this occasion, however, the driver chose to explicitly ignore my instructions and pounded on my door, insisting on handing me the food. When I reminded him of my very explicit instructions to leave the food and text me, he said that he didn't want leave it on the ground (-that's why I also request a text, so the food isn't sitting there long) Never mind that I have not one, but two sets of stairs/porch where he could have left it. Instead, he ignored my no contact delivery request. Hopefully Antonella's will teach their drivers to follow the customer's instructions. read more

We used the Slice app last week to get a pizza delivered and it was pretty good. So this week we decided to give it a try again but pasta dishes. We made our order but for some reason this week they canceled our order saying we were out of their delivery zone? Hmm we got a pizza delivered last week?? So we called Slice and they were great they called Antonella for us and asked to change it to pick up and they did. Got it and wished we hadn't. Got chicken piccata and chicken francese. The chicken was too thin as was the sauce. Too lemony. They served the pasta with red sauce?? Instead of in the chicken sauce. The bread toasted hard as a rock. Salad was decent enough but creamy balsamic was idk??? Strange. All in all not worth the $18.95 for each dish! Disappointing. Gave it 2 stars for the good pizza the week before. read more

I went here today after a funeral, got server #69, Nicole. I ordered a pepperoni & garlic stromboli to go. It took over 45 minutes for them to make it. When I get home to eat it, I open the bag & it's some Italian sub/sandwich. Ham, salami, pepperoni, lettuce, green peppers, Italian dressing in a toasted hoagie roll. I call to tell them that they gave me the wrong thing, "well you already left with it, there's nothing we can do about it". Great customer service & way to go on making a stromboli. I was told about an hour for delivery.....not a big deal, it was 5:00 in the evening on a Saturday.......20 minutes later I received my food...pleasant surprise! I ordered a calzone with spinach,mushroom, black olives, and fresh garlic.... they definitely didn't skimp on the ingredients!! And it was delish!! The other calzones were the same: delicious!!! I only have one gripe: the food wasn't as hot as I would expect. Antonella's is right down the street, so they didn't have that far to go, and my calzones should have come straight out of the oven.....(hence 4 out of 5 ) I would definitely order again, maybe try something different next time. read more

I doubt that I would ever go back. Last my wife and I went we went for pizza. We ordered 1/2 plain cheese, and 1/2 sausage. Usually there is 8 slices, so you would think that 4 slices would have sausage...not really. Only 3 slices had sausage. The garlic knots were burnt and it seemed to be an inconvenience for the wait staff to get a refill. The time before that I had ordered 3 pizzas around 5pm for pick up. I had to repeat my order a number of times. I get a call from them and when I pick up, the other end hangs up. I called back and no one seems to know who would have called (this is about 20 minutes after I originally placed my order). I go to pick them up @ 6pm and they didn't make the pizzas because there was a question. I talked to the manager who was not really caring at all. read more

Great prices, good food. For lunch, we had a (huge) egg plant parmigana hero and a pasta fiore. The first was delicious, all the ingredients good, perhaps only the bread was merely OK. The pasta fiore was reasonably sized for lunch, a fume type sauce with Artichokes and Dried tomatoes. Tasty, though missing by a little the absolute balance this sort of dish could achieve. Though we didn't have any, I think some red wine would go beautifully with the pasta. Lunch came with garlic bread and small pieces of pizza. Note: the glass showcase features grotesqe looking pizzas. Don't know if they are any good. read more

A nice cozy place for a good meal. I stopped in while visiting from out of town and had dinner. I had the linguini puttanesca dinner that includes salad and bread. What I really appreciated was the portion sizes. I'm not someone who expects leftovers and the salad and pasta were just right. The puttanesca sauce was a bit chunkier than I'm used to, but had good flavor and a nice kick to it. Garlic knots were yummy. They have a bar in the restaurant, so a glass of vino is in order! The place is managed by Italians, so I appreciated that! Nice friendly staff. Good meal for a good value. read more

Two words: stomach ISSUES. Not once, not twice but three times. The first two times I had ordered specials so the third time I went (yes I went back after a serious GI upset both times because my friend really likes it here) and I ordered something off the menu. Same result. Maybe it's just me but something there makes me sick. So why 3 stars you may wonder? Well the food is actually pretty good. Not super authentic and nothing especially unique but they have all the Italian basics. Good calamari and seafood. They have a full bar and the experience is nice and cozy.
