Service was good. Food was excellent and the restaurant was full so that always is a positive sign. We had the mushroom pizza, calamari, breaded mozzarella with cherry tomatoes and the breaded Mac and cheese with Burrowing Owl Pinot Gris. The wine was 50% a bottle the night we went.

Hands down the best service here. 5 stars for that. Food is about 4 stars, based on the pasta I tried. We came here on pasta Tuesdays where all pasta is $17. A deal as the regular price is $25-29. Plus on pasta Tuesday, there are a few more pasta dishes not on the regular menu. Same with pizza Wednesday where you get more pizza selections and pizzas go for $16 each. Reservation is highly recommended. We booked a table for 6 at 6 pm. The main floor was already busy and we were given a table on the upper level. It was 70% full then and reached 100% by 7 pm. So I found out this is the only Trattoria outlet left now. Maybe that explained the crowd? The place is huge with several private rooms or area where you can book for events or party. Under the Glowbal group, you can be assured the food standard is there. It is not really fine dining, more of a casual mid scale place. The service is that of an upscale place which really caught me by surprise. I've dined in many high end local and overseas fine dining places, and the service here was on par with that. Our server was personable and beyond friendly. From the beginning to the end, he was not intrusive and pushy. He was quick to top up our water glass without being asked. He placed the napkin on our laps. Introduced the menu and specials. Let us stay to chat a bit after we finished our mains. We felt really welcomed there, like family. I think it stemmed from the manager. He was also on the floor, watching and talking to us and other customers, checking on our food. This is one place I'm glad to tip more without feeling like I'm forced to. And there was no mandatory % tip for our group of 6 which was nice. Food wise, we ordered pasta. The portion was good. Not a lot like Anton's but it was sufficient. The pasta was fresh and al dente, with many different types. You can get gluten free version for $2 more. I like seafood so I had the Nodi Marini Fra Diavolo. I was surprised to see it in a tomato based sauce as it mentioned aglio e olio which was my preferred style for pasta. There were 5 prawns with many baby scallops and olives. It was good but not wow. My partner had the Rigatoni vodka all'Amatriciana. That had pancetta, pecorino and burrata in it. I tried it and liked it way more. The flavor was more infused and complex and tastier. My friends had other pastas like the signature truffle spaghetti and meatballs (very filling), bolognese and tagliatelle ghiottone (minced chicken in cream and brandy sauce). They all loved their food. I liked how you get freshly grated cheese on your pasta. I can see why this place is popular. I'll definitely like to come back again to try other dishes and the desserts. Parking is a pain here. Its paid parking and kingsway is always busy.

Came here on a Saturday evening to celebrate my friend's birthday. We didn't have reservations unfortunately so we put our name and number down and got a table in just under an hour. I'd recommend getting reservations though. Ambiance is nice. Upscale and homey feel. My group ordered 3 orders of the pasta tower for 2 lol. So we had nine pastas to try. Each of them tasted great. Super flavorful. I forget which one was my favorite since they all tasted so good. Service was exceptional - our server was very friendly and food came out at a decent pace. Water refills were quick and the server even offered to take a group picture for us. Would definitely return if I'm ever back in the area.

After seeing posts about Trattoria's $17 Pasta Tuesday, I finally tried this place out with some friends. I enjoyed the ambiance of the place and the service was very prompt with frequent refilling of water etc. I would've appreciated if the add on charge for sparkling water was mentioned, and unfortunately my carbonara was not as flavourful as I'd imagined. I did enjoy trying a new pasta shape though, just in terms of pasta itself, I wasn't blown away!

Came here to celebrate 2 graduates. We had 2 toddlers with us and we were set on a perfect long table in a corner where we were able to park a stroller. Wall near us had hooks for our coats and purses and all the baby bags were in place. Michael, one of the owners came by several times to greet us, suggest food and see how we were doing. I had a short conversation with him and learned that they spent a huge amount on renovation. I could see it. Some walls had beveled white tiles that certainly looked liked an Italian kitchen. What we ordered was a chef's suggestion that isn't on the menu yet. It's a surf and turf board with steak, shrimp, risotto, and a bowl of pasta your choice amongst potatoes carrots and Brussels sprouts. All these for $130. We also ordered a Pasta Tower for Two and a Prosciutto pizza. We had a pleasant evening. Will be back for sure.

Was in the mood for some thin-crust pizzas and we decided to go try out Trattoria in Burnaby since we were in the area. Haven't been to this location but I was pretty disappointed when I went to the Kits location a couple years back. Always worth giving a restaurant another chance, and so here we are! We went around 8pm and the restaurant was quite busy. Luckily, there was only 2 of us and so the waiter said it would be a 5 minute wait. Unfortunately, they forgot about us and we ended up waiting like 20-25 minutes for a table... Anyways, we ordered a beef carpaccio, spaghetti, and pizza to share. Everything was pretty decent but nothing blew me away. If you're looking for a nicer restaurant for a special event, this could be the one since I saw many people celebrating birthdays and stuff! Would say that I enjoyed trying it once but not sure if I would go back again.

Wow i am absolutely blown away by the really impressive renovations and overall experience of dining at Trattoria. I've been coming here for years typically on Tuesdays to enjoy the pasta tuesday specials and the last time i had been here prior to today as im writing this review was way before they had a heated patio and i can honestly say they have really elevated and come a long way! A lot has changed even on their menu, i'm so happy i got to try this cocktail in which was created by the manager it's his own recipe he put together and will be a featured drink and printed in the menu soon for the feature of the month. The pasta i got to try was Tagliatelle Ghiottone and since it landed also during happy hour it happened to be cheaper than the actual pasta tuesday pricing. It honestly was super delicious, the chicken wasn't dry, the noodles were cooked to perfection, not soggy not hard just al dente and absolute perfection! I did add some fresh grated parmasen and black pepper and it was a nice touch. The Shrimp calamari combo was really nice, even the peppers that is part of it isn't spicy everything has a nice crunch, the batter is a good texture. Service was exceptional, restaurant is super clean as i always remembered, the ambiance is nice, good music playing and not super loud so customers can easily still have conversation with loved ones or the staff no problem at all. I am definitely coming back again and you should definitely give it a try!

Trattoria in Burnaby is an amazing Italian restaurant with quite a spacious ambience of seating. It has probably two floors inside and then a unique style patio seating outside. It's a perfect date night spot and has vibes like that. I have heard of its tiramisu a lot so finally decided to give a visit. It was absolutely amazing a very fresh tiramisu and the chef assembles it on the spot - ladyfingers as base the mascarpone a lot of whisk and then wine drizzled and finally Belgian chocolate. It's a fresh melting experience. Also took tortellini pasta which was okay nothing special and the potato pizza which was also okay. Service is good. There's proper burners available in patio and keeps warm in winters outside. But yes this place is worth visiting for ambience and tiramisu.

Went during lunch time and the place was very busy. We were seated upstairs at a long table for a large group. Ordered the pomodoro and added a side a chicken, it was not very flavourful and bland. We also orders the famous table side tiramisu which did not taste as good as their old already made tiramisu. It was entertaining to watch though. Service was good but good but the food took awhile to come out i guess we had a larger group. Also orders a few other desserts but it was not memorable.

Celebrated a friend's birthday and farewell dinner. The drinks were tasty, but the food! The beef carpaccio was excellent. The subtleness of the aioli, the nutty flavour from the arugula, with that sharp tones from the caper. The combination with the beef and the flatbread. Salud Chef!I highly recommend:Beef Carpaccio, Fungi Pizza, Lamb Shank, and the Tiramisu! Special thanks to Augustina! She's was pleasantly accommodated. Thank you for making us feel welcomed! Well done, Augustina!

We went for happy hour and it was very busy but we still got seated by the window. The decorations inside were very nice and modern. The service was great, and the vibe was very similar to that of cactus club and earls. The manager was very friendly and he came around to check on us a few times. Food was good, but not as authentic as other italian eateries and slightly more expensive compared to quality. Overall a very good experience.

The Trattoria's Margherita Pizza - I wouldn't go as far as saying it went down like butter, but it did keep me adequately nourished.
    Tim B.

It is an Italian restaurant that was within walking distance of our hotel. To be more specific, it's actually in the same building as our hotel. So it was convenient, and to be fair, it did fill us up for the night. My Margerhita Pizza was fine, and washed down by a delicious beer. Yes, beer in an Italian Restaurant - it is allowed even if the extensive wine selection is pushed. Wife was ok with her food. Would we come back? Probably, although there are quite frankly more interesting options within the same block.

    Julio L.

Went for the Tuesday pasta deal! It's not bad but I feel the quality of the food has gone down a bit for the price. Nevertheless it's still a great place to get together and eat! The ambiance of the restaurant is amazing with its brand new patio! Great service as they check in on us time to time.

Mood lighting and soft music, and nice white table Napkin service. For the price and quality of food..you can't go wrong here. Tons of free parking around too. The sauces weren't thick but light and right. The pasta however was not homemadeC except for the ravioli. The carbonara was a good copycat of the Roman carbonara, but with a bit cream. Nice sorta open kitchen concept, where you see the Italian maestro at work. Looks like an Italian grandpa to be honest. My fav dish was the seafood one with fish and shrimps. It was loaded with generous pieces and finished perfectly with a touch of white wine and vodka sauce. The pesto one was also good. Not too overpowering, with a touch of crème fresh. The burrata was also so good. Freshly made and complimented by a nice drizzle of olive and balsamic. Another winner is the house bread which you can keep in asking for. Hot off the oven and comes with olive oil/balsamic dip. So hearty and good. Service was efficient, although our server seems to be wanting to rush us. Constantly hovering and asking and taking plates away. I get it's the holiday season, but there were so many tables available. I like the location as it's not that far from DT and parking is safe and plentiful. Ambiance is like an old mafia restuarant where Gino is in the back and the soprano is eating right at the table next to you. Yes, i would repeat and try the other entrees. Cheers! Happy eating!

For entrees my husband had the pizza special of the day and it was disappointing. We did not care for the taste and the crust was soggy. My husband had roast duck the last time we were there, and it was so good that I decided on it for my entree. Our waitress said that it was served medium rare. Duck breast generally is served medium rare so I didn't have an issue with this. When it came to the table it wasn't just rare it was raw. I couldn't cut it with my knife and I sent it back to the kitchen. I had a caprese salad - very expensive at $19.00. It was good but I've had much better. A man, who I believe was probably the manager came to the table to check on us and apologized for the duck. We shared a creme brulee for dessert. With a bottle of one of the reasonably priced wines at $60.00 our meal with tip was almost $200.00. Definitely not worth the money. It was so different from our last experience. It's unlikely that we would return. I gave it 5* last time. What a difference. The service was a little slow, but incredibly friendly, pleasant, and able to answer questions about the menu with ease. The Marsala Mushroom Benedict was fantastic and filling. The sausage benedict and peach waffle entrees were thoroughly enjoyed by others. We will be back.

It is actually still a street. We came here to celebrate a birthday in the family. There were a variety of dishes ordered for the table: Seasonal Green salad, House Bread, Cauliflower Carbonara and Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio. I loved the dips for the house bread. Especially the chili oil. That was quite a sensation for the taste buds, and in a very pleasant way. For my main course I ordered the Casarecce al Pesto di Pistacchi with Arugula. It was on a specials sheet for Wednesdays. We were here on a Wednesday and they have Mangia Wednesdays specials. This dish was actually on the regual menu as well except that it went by a different name on the regular menu, and also had the addition of broccolini on it in the regular menu. I enjoyed my dish but it didn't have broccolini in it and I'd have enjoyed it more with broccolini. We ordered some Tiramisu and Affogato for dessert. Tiramisu wasn't bad but we agreed that the Affogato was the better of the two. Overall, everyone was very happy with their food and we thought it was a very good recommendation.

My family and I went for lunch on a Saturday, and I was surprised to see that we were the only table when we walked in. We were greeted warmly, and upon recommendation, we ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice. It was absolutely delicious, like sunshine in a cup. Bolstered, we proceeded to order the rest of our meal. For appies, we had meatballs, caprese salad, and garlic bread. The meatballs were dense yet tender, and the tomato sauce they were sitting in was perfectly balanced. The caprese was solid, nothing mind-blowing but it was fresh and tasty! For mains, we had the prawn risotto and scallop pasta. We spent the whole meal debating which one we liked more, because they were both top notch. The prawns in the risotto were not a touch over or underdone, and the pasta was savory and fragrant. I like the savoriness the almonds gave it. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn't resist ordering dessert. The passion fruit panna cotta and the lemon sorbet were the perfect way the cap off the meal. My grandma, notoriously shy with speaking English, even called the server over to tell her how much she liked it. The bill was hefty- $180 including tax and tip for the 3 of us. But I walked away feeling satisfied that my grandma had the best meal she's had in years, and that to me is priceless.

The Crab Linguini had bits of crab meat (minced?) mixed into the rosé sauce. To be honest, there didn't seem to be much crab in this dish. The pastas are all made in-house & cooked al dente. They're definitely of a higher quality than most other pasta places, which somewhat justifies their $30+ price point for the pasta dishes. We also ordered some drinks & I enjoyed the seasonal cocktail. Service was warm & friendly; the ambience was calm & relaxing. Overall, we had a lovely evening here.
