It's nice that they have an all-you-can-eat option but there are two different prices for it since they offer different sections of fish so make sure you select which one you would like before proceeding. The food was pretty bland in my opinion and just did not taste that good. I'm not sure if it was where the fish was sourced but it just tasted off. It was first time at trappers. I did AYCE dinner. I most likely did not eat my money worth. I ordered spider rolls , salmon skin hand rolls, Mt Rainer, sear tuna, seaweed salad and crystal shrimps. I like spider rolls, crispy and rice was portion good. Salmon skin hand roll was also crispy and salty but not too salty. I did not like tuna. Mt Rainer was good, crystal shrimp in the middle with salmon and scallops on top. Service was good. Enjoyed another great evening with the staff at Trappers in Covington. Took advantage of their AYCE dinner option. While I can't eat a lot, everything is well worth the money! Our sushi chef Anatoli, did a wonderful job! From making recommendations based on our likes, to being very attentive and making sure we always had food in front of us. I have had the AYCE multiple times and tonight was the first time I found out that you can enjoy options from the lunch AYCE menu, when purchasing the dinner AYCE. This sushi spot is pretty decent, but not authentic. I use to come here for the all you can eat sushi because it was the only place around that had that option. Every time I come here I always get great service, everyone's super friendly! The fish here is pretty fresh, but the salmon def doesn't have much of a taste which is disappointing. I can tell just by looking at it that it's not the greatest quality of salmon. Now their rolls are great , very flavorful. My favorite roll here it the Timmy roll. It's a fried roll and is fried perfectly when asked for lightly fried. There spicy scallop hand roll on the other hand is good but not amazing. I wish it came with raw scallops instead of cooked, and maybe a little less on the mayo. The one thing I reallllly love here is their deep fried crab, I'm still craving it to this day! read more

Trappers is the only place close to home so we've been going there for a while. Long story short, the food is good but the service tends to be terrible. Long waits in the lobby when they have empty dirty tables everywhere and relative to most sushi places the food always takes forever to come out. This week we tried Uber eats with them hoping it would be better. It was a disaster. Food we ordered at 6:30 made it to our house after 9:00pm!? The driver said he waited almost 2 hours for our food and kept getting told "just 15 more minutes." He said he hates picking up orders there. Once the food arrived it was cold and the portions on things like the edamame and cucumber salad were 1/2 what they are when we dine in. We are done with Trappers. read more

The food there is always a 10/10. The vibes in Trappers are always good. To get your money's worth I'd recommend all you can eat lunch, because it is on the pricey side. My go to is the Rock and Roll and the Bonney Lake. They also have good gluten free options. read more

Food is good but service sucks... Its a small place so shouldn't be to bad but it kind of is. There are 5 chefs and its taking over 45 minutes for our food, mind you its a place that has 12 tables. Safe to say we wont be back. The waitress are pretty good but the chefs, they just chitchatting like no one is waiting for food. It seemed they had enough hostesses & chefs just not enough servers. If you are going with just two people then I recommend sitting at the bar. Trappers is one of my favorite restaurants. While I was enjoying a lunch date with my friend, I realized I have never shared a review for trappers. I usually keep to the Dragon, Bonny Lake, or Mt. Rainer. But this visit, the Monster caught my eye. Although I can't remember what all the ingredients were, it did have tuna, crab meat, and shrimp tempera. The Monster has now been added to my list of favorite sushi rolls. I also do not remember the name of the cocktail I enjoyed, but is similar to a tequila sunrise. TLDR/ Hard Pass Food: middling at best, Service: Poor Meh. The sushi was blah. The service was also blah. The waitress seemed like she would rather have been anywhere else and we had to ask for all the condiments you are likely to find at most sushi restaurants. We somehow felt rushed the whole time even though it was a Sunday afternoon, when you never want to feel rushed. It's like they didn't want my money enough to let me enjoy my sushi. I know Covid is a thing, but she could have offered us wasabi or ginger instead of making us ask for it. For the 50+ dollars I paid for my sushi, I guess I just expected a bit more class. I probably won't be going back, because honestly there are better sushi restaurants that are closer to my house. After eating, I just sat there with my friend waiting for the check for what felt like forever. It was like while we were eating the server wanted us to hurry up but then once we wanted the check, she made us wait. I honestly wish I had not even left my house. What a waste of time, the only silver lining was seeing my friend, but neither of us enjoyed our meal very much, or the poor service that accompanied it. read more

Excellent service by the chefs ( Corey was funny, quick, explained things well, willing to improvise) 2. Service by the servers - fast, kept our drinks refilled and beverages coming 3. Sushi - now let's talk about this part! We did AYCE in the bar area. I expected to get mini plates of small helpings, but oh no, you get a full roll, and it is absolutely scrumptious! As you can see by the pictures, their rolls are loaded with goodies, rice is made well - and no complaints here. Next time, I think I'll ask for 1/2 roll, as I really wanted to sample things - but luckily 4 people in a party, there were plenty of samples to go around. The only reason I would not give this place a five stars - a five star sushi place should serve sushi as a piece of art. Perfectly proportioned, perfectly cut slices of fish - creatively displayed. So if that is what you are looking for, and are a presentation snob ( which is totally cool) maybe don't go here. We took a table for 6 yesterday. Received a very warm welcome and the food was excellent. Staff were very attentive to our needs. The variety of sushi was impressive and the presentation was beautiful. We also enjoyed the sake selection, which complemented the sushi perfectly. Yeah, I know, it's a franchise and I typically don't review franchise locations. But Trapper's is a little different since each location is owned by the parent company thus far. Stopped in with my wife while in the neighborhood, seemed like a good way to let some of that I-5 rush hour traffic die down. This was my first time visiting this location, I've been to several others around the area and am a regular at a couple of them. there's not much here you wouldn't expect from Trapper's. The decor is the same as other locations, the only difference is the layout. The menu and all that are also the same. COVID protocols have the "all you can eat" bar in a bit of a tailspin, so when we heard it would be roughly 45 minutes to an hour for two seats there, we just grabbed a table and moved on with life. I love some all you can eat Trapper's, but not that much. We flipped the script and started with dessert, ordering the Mochi Flight. Having never ordered this before, it was quite fun. We each had two flavors we liked more than the other two, which worked out well because they were not the same two flavors. We both also agreed that they actually got a bit better after "melting" just a touch too. My wife got her typical Thunderbird roll, minus the Shrimp and wrapped in a soy wrapper. I know, it seems odd, but she doesn't like seafood, so basically she builds a grilled chicken roll. Don't knock it 'till you try it. This also shows the extent Trapper's will go to customize an order. Keep that in mind. I settled on a Thrill, a Rammi and a Skywalker. I like 'em hot. Honestly tho, that Rammi wasn't as hot as I was expecting. The menu said "Kamikaze-hot Spicy Shrimp" and they weren't really that hot. Still a good roll, I'll order it again, just not "Kamikaze" hot. Staff is always up to Trapper's standards, very friendly and attentive. I'm never displeased with a Trapper's location at all. We wanted to do all-you-can-eat sushi dinner, and usually go to the Kent location. But we were starving, and didn't want to risk waiting for a seat at Kent, since they seem to always be busy, so we decided to check out this location. We got here around 5pm on a Sunday and there after a few seats available in the sushi bar for all-you-can-eat. The place stayed busy, but not crazy busy where people were waiting for seats. I started with the Soft Shell Crab and Gyozas for appetizers and then we started ordering the sushi rolls. Everything I ordered was good; I mean, we didn't come for authentic sushi, we just came to stuff our faces. But I still find their sushi tasty since I'm not a real sushi person and don't care much for raw fish. And I didn't care for the Vader Roll. It's avocado and cream cheese tempura-battered and fried, topped with scallops; I didn't like the texture, it was too mushy for me. I really like that they have so many sushi options to choose from on their menu. Sometimes I feel like I'm spending more time reading their menu trying to decide what to order next than actually eating. Service is great and friendly, including our waitress and the sushi chefs. I left very satisfied and very full...maybe too full. I was seconds away from slipping into a food coma; it hurt to move. I definitely need a little break from all-you-can-eat sushi, but will probably be thinking about it again not too long from now. read more

Jeez, where do I begin. Walked in and asked for a table. Was informed that it would be a 20 minute wait. Mind you, there were 9 open tables. Eventually got seated by our extremely unmotivated hostess. We then proceeded to wait for 10-15 minutes before someone caught attention and asked us if we would like a drink. By that time, my pregnant wife and I had already figured out what we wanted for a drink, appetizer, dinner, and dessert. As time passed, and the clock hit 10 minutes, my wife finally got a glass of water and her edamame's. I continued to sit and watch her quench her thirst while my beer took 20 more minutes to arrive. Shortly after the beer arrived, her food showed up. She enjoyed it. Tasted good, etc. she ate it all. I got the glorious experience of watching her eat the whole meal while I sat on my thumbs. Eventually she concluded her nice dinner. Shortly after (10 minutes), my cold deep fried roll came out. It was super enjoyable to eat dinner by myself after experiencing my wife eat her food. I guess I would say the kitchen was well staffed. They were pumping food out. What seemed to lack was the hospitality staff. Service was awful. Beyond awful actually. The bar was not staffed. Food sat, ready to be served for 5-10 minutes. At one point we did not see our server for 10 minutes. No one else came over and asked if we needed anything. To put a cherry on top, Trappers now charges a restaurant sit in fee. This establishment charges YOU, the paying customer, extra money to sit and eat their food. If you're a logical, smart person. Do not go to this location. If I ever decide to walk into the travesty of operation that this business runs, I will not be going here. Oh my the sushi I ordered on door dash and picked it up I tell you I had the worst sushi ever .The Bonney lake it says it has cream cheese in but I tell you it was not a single cream inside it .And the crab was put like so stingy barely and crab on top of the sushi. Customer service is great! I usually go to the Kent location, but I love Covington's layout. I like how they separate the sushi bar and it's not smack dab in the middle of the restaurant. I also love that they have their own parking lot. I tried the baby octopus from the all-you-can-eat dinner menu and wasn't a fan of it. They fried the octopus for too long and had too much sauce drizzled on it. I might give it another go at the Kent location, but we will see.
