I had read the reviews about this place a few times and was anxious to try it. Figured it would be slow over the recent holiday weekend and it was a great time to give it a try. Went in before the dinner hour, and everything was very self-explanatory. There are two portion sizes... Large and child. You pick the appropriate bowl and start filling it with vegetables, rice or noodles. Apply seasonings and sauces and then hand it to the attendant. They then prepare it for you on a large heated surface and it only takes about five minutes. Your entrée is returned to you on a plate and you can top it off with several sauces. The vegetables were fresh and delicious and they even included plastic gloves to use while you were handling tongs to put the ingredients in your bowl. Very nice touch. The lobby itself was spotless. Not more than 10 minutes after coming in. Two larger parties came in after me and they filled up the dining room. Attendance were very quick to remove used dishes from tables and wipe everything down. Overall, a great experience and value for the money. Highly recommend. read more

Food is great and very filling! I definitely recommend getting as many veggies and meat as you can instead of hoarding the noodles. Those noodles fill you up fast! The veggies are fresh and the sauces really do help the flavor. Take advice from some of the sauce combo recipes they have on the boards. You fill up your bowl, hand it to the very nice assistant, they add your meat of choice and cook it on the flat iron. It becomes ready to pick up in about 10min. They ask you if you want a portion of rice too (free). They have great finishing sauces as well. Even the biggest eaters in my family can't finish their first plate so buying All You Can Eat isn't the best choice in my opinion. I will never get AYCE again. (Probably a $5 price difference.) If you buy the large instead of AYCE you can at least take your leftovers home. You cannot take ANY leftovers home if you buy AYCE. I think you get a free drink with a large order too. To not waste food...and if I was the owner/manager I'd make a rule that if you bought AYCE but still only got one bowl/plate of food then you can take your leftovers home. Or maybe charge $5 for a to-go box but you can only buy one additional to-go box with every AYCE purchase. Seeing all the food go to waste made me sad. read more

We came at 7:30pm, filled our bowls and placed them on the counter to be cooked. That's when I got the sticker shock. For the 2 of us it was $44.00. That's up about $10.00 from a year ago. . When we were called up to pick up our order we were told, "Oh, we are out of rice, sorry. ". It's included in the price so it is expected. I guess they changed their hour starting last Monday and now they close at 8pm rather than 9pm and they didn't want to make more rice. A very poor experience. read more

Been coming here for years and we love it! It's always the same girl running the place, she's super friendly. She keeps the food line area super clean, I always see her wiping off the counters. I've been doing Mongolian grills for more than 30 years. As a kid, it wasn't uncommon for cities to have several to choose from. We used to go to a couple different locations in Bellevue with the last one closing some time in the early 2000's. At that point, we used to hit one of the few in Federal way before settling in at Chang's in Renton before it closed pushing us back to Federal Way. All those years, names and locations it was always the same. All You Can Eat, soup, rice and ice cream. I remember when Iron Grill's started popping up and at one point, there had to be at least 6 locally I never stopped, because the other places always appeared to be less expensive for a better experience. Now if you never tried one of the original grills, you can't know better, but for me, these places will never be great. Today, out of curiosity, I checked this place out and this is my honest review. The food bar was stocked well, everything was topped off and appeared fresh. That said, we were the only people inside which tells me this is no hot spot. The lunch special was a large bowl with a drink for $17. Ironically at AYCE, I normally go through twice, but my bowl is never full. I didn't choose the AYCE option today because the large bowl was a better deal and my large bowl wasn't even full, the girl told me I could go back and top off my bowl if I wanted, but I declined. Two problems here. The fact that you can't control your meat and the liquid options were limited. I like cooking wine, that wasn't on the bar. I like hot oil, that wasn't on the bar and I also like Oyster Sauce, also not on the bar. It takes all the sauces and oils to make a true Mongolian feast. Soup would have been nice and at least a fortune cookie would have been a good topper, but none were offered. In the end, this was ok, but far from great. For what I paid, it was a fair deal, but it could have been better and honestly, I would have quickly paid a few dollars more for a better experience. That said, I don't see myself returning as this was a watered down experience. We considered going to Jasmine in Federal Way, but my issue there is the price keeps going up, the experience is less than consistent, and they removed soup from meals and the bar is always low or missing items. If a better grill ever pops up, I'll be a customer, until then, we'll just catch a grill in Vancouver BC or Portland as we travel. read more

I feel like the newer lady working the till needs more training. She's always in a distressful state which is why she's constantly making mistakes. Assemble your own dish! I always wonder if I'm adding enough (or too much) of the sauces, since I normally cook a meal for 5. But after filling up the bowl with veggies and yummy Yakisiba noodles, they cook it quickly on the huge grill....and then I can add more sauce, if needed. The ingredients were fresh and they cook so fast. Prices have gone up, like everywhere else. It's $18.50 for all you can eat and $14.50 for a large bowl. They were out of medium bowls when we went. :( read more

If you like Mongolian Grill and picking every single thing that goes in your dinner this is the place. They have a "salad bar" where you pick what kind of vegetables you want. You also get to pick between three different noodles: rice, yakisoba, and spicy. Keep in mind when they cook it, the noddle on the bottom, closest to the grill get stuck so you'll have less that what's actually in your bowl. At the end of the line they have to go cups with five different types of sauces that are hot: Teriyaki, Peanut, Mushroom, and two others I cannot remember. They have the sauces to put on prior to cooking the food as well. The meat is portioned by the kitchen so you do not get to portion the meat but they have a large variety of meat and you can get double if you need. They have medium/large sizes for lunch but only give you the large size for dinner. They provide gloves and hand sanitizer for safety and of course masks. I mixed the spicy and yakisoba noddles together and it was delicious, beware that the spicy noddles are SPICY. They also keep the seeds in the jalapeños so they're extremely spicy as well. Overall the food is amazing and its prices right. It was spicy, delicious and you get to pick everything you want. You can also add rice for free. 100% recommend this for Chinese food!!! read more

Now I don't know if I am putting too much, or they aren't, moving my food enough?? I have a really sensitive palate, and burned garlic is one of those flavors. My mom had been wanting to try this place and today was her lucky day. We stopped by during lunch. This was the first time being here, so we were a bit confused as what to do. So you must choose to get an all you can eat bowl or a one time bowl (kids, medium or large). There's different vegetables to choose from and different noodles for example like yakisoba or rice noodles. You can also add oils and spices. Depending on your bowl size is the amount of meat they give you that is added to your meal. They grill it all together, when ready they put it in plate with a scoop of white rice. When the meal is fully grilled you can add more oils to it. The food was good, it was well grilled. I would have loved more meat and rice. The meat just seemed to be cut very small so it got lost in my noodles. Either than that the food was good. read more

This place rocks! The only one in the area. According to the manager, it's not a franchise so they can make the ambiance and menu as they see fit. If you like stir fry , noodles, yakisoba, and chow mein, this is the place to get your foodie on. YOU choose what you want in your stir fry and how much sauce you get. It's absolutely delicious! Their all- you-can-eat is $19.99. I get the large and share with my husband...it's a lot of food. A large can easily feed two people. The staff is friendly, efficient and very knowledgable; the cashier came up to us and explained how it all worked. I recommend coming in and getting a large to share, or eat it as two meals...or get the all you can eat for only $4.50 more!! This is my go to for stir fry noodles!! read more

We come here often, seems like the quality keeps declining. Have they changed owners? To note, the girl at the cashier had the same gloves on while counting money and serving rice. Not sanitary, and might be why they are now at a "Good" rating instead of Excellent. She also seemed extremely distracted and wasn't particularly attentive or friendly. We had to come back and ask for forks to, you know eat the food with. We also had to come back and ask for rice which is usually offered upon food pick up. Food was ok. Seems to get cold soon. Sauces are NEVER filled. Mushroom sauce was cold and out. Lid keeps falling inside of the sauces which is unsanitary and annoying. Mentioned that soap was out in the restroom, went back it was never filled. Veggie bar options were low and needed to be refilled. Overall, not a good experience. Cashiers need to be way more attentive instead of standing behind the counter and chatting the whole time. read more

I couldn't believe this establishment got this high rating. Went there yesterday. I have NEVER seen such a Highway Robbery restaurant. Besides being super expensive and CHEAP with their ingredients, they want to charge for EVERYTHING extra. You can't even load your own protein as other Mongolian Grill restaurant offers. The proteins that they put in there are SUPER SKIMPY. The bowls are super small compared to other Mongolian Grill places. The selections to pick from are very limited compared to other Mongolian Grills. I would HIGHLY recommend that if you want some good Mongolian Grill, go to Riverside Mongolian Grill on River Road in Puyallup. The price is about the same but you'll be able to get a variety of proteins (by yourself) and more sauce options to choose from, and a lot better tasting. BTW, their Mongolian sauce tasted like plain soy sauce with a lot of sugar while other places at least have better tasting house sauce. read more

Looking for a Mongolian BBQ style buffet? Iron Grill may not have the square footage that some similar places have, but that doesnt mean the food is any less. Choose your veggies, choose your noodles (several kinds to choose from), choose your sauces, then the cooks add your meat choice and fry it up. There's also a few sauces to add after cooking, and all are worth trying. The size of the bowl (and some piling) gets you a decently large meal for the price. During covid, we have always gotten our bowl to-go, and have never been dissapointed with what we take home. We hope this place sticks around so we can dine inside once things calm down. read more
